width-fixer A lot of people helped

April 1995 another racer, Dan Sudal sponsored a full racing spool, new bearings, new 456 Richmond Gears and all his labor. He also helped us out many times at the track when the inevitable little problems arose.

Here you can see the Dan's Gears sign as a couple of fans, Tyler and CJ, check out the "feathers in the gas tank." It is a hollow gas-filler tube from an old Rambler, donated by R&J Mobility owner, Ronnie Rowland, which I kept full of chicken feathers and gave to kids for "good luck". They always wondered how a race car could run on feathers!

Doc thanks Jack and Dick Nordal, owners of Dick & Jim's Wrecking Yard, Salem, OR for all their support and continuous supply of "experienced" spare parts for the Severely Disabled Chicken Coupe. These were sponsors who gave Doc whatever used parts he needed, throughout his career, just because it made them feel good to see what he was able to do with them. (Note the "For Sale" sign on the back of Doc's wheelchair... he used his chair as a walking billboard to advertise the various used cars that he seemed to accumulate.)

These were sponsors for 1996 who contributed cash, either for Doc's van motor replacement, or for the very expensive work needed to give the Chicken Coupe its "total slammed" look.

The FRED MEYER Department Store chain were Doc's fuel sponsors for the '96 - '97 Seasons.
