My name is David L.Hamilton. I was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to a Loving family. I have two brothers and one sister. I graduated from High School in Clinton, Oklahoma ( Red Tornado's) in 1967. I served in the United States Army ( 1st Cavalry Division ) in VietNam in 1968-1969. I attended Southwestern State University in Weatherford , Oklahoma graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and minor in Sociology. I further attended Oklahoma State University working toward a Master's degree in Corrections.
I married Nancy in 1969 after returning from VietNam. We have Five children ( the last three of which I delivered at home). Our oldest daughter is a High School English Teacher in Savanna, Oklahoma. Our eldest son is currently serving as a Trooper with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Further , we have a daughter who is a senior at Oklahoma State University...Our other two children ( boys) are knotheads....Nancy and I just celebrated our 31st wedding Aniversary in October 2000.
I have been a ScoutMaster for Troop 5 ( 85yr old Troop) in McAlester, Oklahoma for 10 yrs.. We attend Church regularily and I am a Deacon in my congregation.
I come from a Law enforcement family. My Father was the first Pilot for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol serving for 23yrs. before his retirement. I have been in Law enforcement for 19yrs., and my eldest son is also a Trooper with OHP.
I have been employed with the DOC for 19yrs.. First in 1974-75 as a C.O. at O.S.P., then as a Probation and Parole Officer with District 3 in McAlester, Ok. for ten years. My current position is a Team Supervisor for District 5 in Stillwater, Ok....I have a "great " Team of employees who are dedicated to their jobs and have a great desire to "make a difference". They are educated, experienced, and very dedicated. The average "time" in service is 13yrs.. I have enjoyed my association with District 5 as it is another Rural District with hard working and "caring' people.. |
