Red Brindle Japanese Kai Ken
Lance is co-owned by Barb Newton and Pam Peterson (Breeder)
Members of North American Kai Association [NAKA]
Kai Ken [aka: Kai Dog, Tora Dog (Tiger Dog), or Kai Tora Inu] originated
in the mountainous Kai District,
now known as the Yamanashi Prefecture
of Japan. There they were used for hunting deer and wild boar and they
remain excellent stalkers of small game here in the U.S. as pets today.
The breed standard requires Brindle (tiger-striped) coloring.
