Process




As a prospective immigrant to Canada, your task is to pack your luggage, prepare your documents, and make your travel/arrival plans before the day of your flight. Your future success as a Canadian immigrant depends on the level of your preparedness, so be sure to complete all of the tasks to the best of your abilities!

Develop your character
1. Decide where you will be immigrating from.
2. Develop a profile of yourself and of your family.

Reflect on your culture
1. What are some aspects of your personal culture that may influence your immigration to Canada?
2. What are some similarities and differences between your culture and the culture you will experience after you immigrate?

Make your plans
1. Decide where in Canada you will be moving to.
2. Plan and "book" your flight.

Pack your bags
1. Make a list of all of the clothes and personal items you will need to survive in the climate that you choose.
2. Ensure that your luggage is under the maximum size and weight for travellers.

Prepare your documents
1. Make a list of all of the essential documents you need.
