Bob Holly has waged a personal "Battle of the Blands" since his debut in the WWF (1995). From the lame incarnation to another, Holly's character and his career have floundered. From an auto racer to an Expresser to a Squader, the talented, althetic Alabama native know that something was lacking. Bob Holly's toughness was always there. His name is at the height of the locker room "tough" poll. Success in the WWF today requires being a good competitor and a speaker on the microphone. When the Hardcore Championship was created, the blue-collar tough guy fit the bill perfectly. He began calling himself "Hardcore Holly." After winning the title last February Holly's career took off in each of his no-hold-barred matches. |

Is Hardcore Holly trapped in the life he has created for himself? It certainly seems as though Holly has at the very least painted himself into the corner. But has he typecast his future? He is one of the most talked about innoventions in the WWF. This will cause more air-time for Holly, and bigger popularity. He's a hard worker. He'll wake up at the crack of dawn to go to the gym. He is one of the "few good guys" in the business. Hardcore holly has made his bed of nails and now he must lie in it. |
