| Anyone looking for information about the hardest working person in the Florida District? Look no further. Welcome to the District Secretary Resource Center. District Secretary is a position that requires a special type of person. He/she is charged with many of the record keeping duties of the district, including collecting and tallying monthly reports, collecting contact information and compiling a directory, producing minutes for each board meeting, and produce a series of newsletters and monthly mailings for clubs. Communication is key to the position, and whoever is elected should be prepared to do a great deal of phone calling and e-mailing. However, the Secretary is the absolutely vital to the success of the district. It is a challenging position, but extremely rewarding. I have included a manual, which explains some of the basic duties of the position. Additionally, I have included the excel spreadsheet we use to record service hours. I would urge anyone who is running to take some time ot familiarize themselves with the tallies sheet before hand. It will definitely put you a step ahead of things should you be elected. The sample newsletter is to give you an idea of what should be included in "Florida Speaking", which is the newsletter's title. Equally, the directory (taken from the 2002-03 year) should give you a good idea of what sort of information should be contained in there. The sample minutes serve roughly the same purpose. |
