Erwin Wolle, 88, of St. James, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, in St. James. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, St. James, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. He is survived by son, Clifford and wife Eldora of St. James; daughter, Rosella Johnson of St. James; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and brother, Gordon of rural St. James. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella; son-in-law, Larry Johnson; sister, Alwina Gersch; and brothers, Arnold and Herb. He was born July 18, 1911, in Antrim Township, Watonwan County, to John and Margarithe (Karau) Wolle of Lewisville. He attended country school in District 38. He married Marcella Margaret Flatau on July 2, 1934. He farmed in rural St. James and also did custom farm work. He retired in 1968. He moved to Mayberry Apartments in 1990 and moved to Pleasant View Nursing Home in 1998. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, St. James.
