Nicklaus May 3 Funeral services for Peter Nicklaus who departed this life on Friday evening at the Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo, were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Congregational Church with a prayer service for the family at 1:15. The funeral service was held at 1:30 with the Rev. El Roy Buhr officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery. Peter Edmund Nicklaus, son of Peter Nicklaus and Bertha Brocka Nicklaus, was born on August 21, 1902 at the farm home in Butler County, where he lived his entire life. He was baptized in the name of the Triune God on September 6, 1903 by Pastor E.E.G. Voss. He received his education in the local schools. In 1928 he was united in marriage with Etta Van Ellen. Having been in failing health for some time, Mr. Nicklaus departed this life on Friday evening. His age was 68 years, 11 months, and 9 days. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Etta; two sons, Bernard and Marlyn of Parkersburg; and two daughters, Marjorie, Mrs. George Oldenberger of Parkersburg, and Bernita at home; also five grandchildren; one brother, William G. Nicklaus of Parkersburg and four sisters, Margaret, Mrs. Al Sinram of Clarksville; Maulie, Mrs. Elmer Hoerman of Parkersburg; Mabel, Mrs. Lloyd Sinram of Clarksville; and Bertha, Mrs. Les Sinram of Aredale, as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, August. May he rest in peace, awaiting the great day of resurrection.
