Nicklaus, 58, local councilman and retired farmer, here Monday afternoon. Services were held at the home at 1:45 and at the Congregational Church at 2 p.m. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery. Mr. Nicklaus died at his home here early Thursday morning from a heart attack. He was born April 5, 1895 at Parkersburg. He married Tille Fleshner January 31, 1917, and farmed north of Parkersburg until five years ago when he retired and moved to town. Since that time he has served four years on the Parkersburg city council and was a member at the time of his death. He leaves his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Markley Knock; two sons, Paul and Delbert, and six grandchildren, all of Parkersburg. Also two brothers, William G. and Peter E., both of Parkersburg, and four sisters, Mrs. Al Sinram and Mrs. Lloyd Sinram, Clarksville; Mrs. Maulie Peters, Parkersburg, and Mrs. Lester Sinram, Aredale. Tillie Nicklaus Parkersburg, Iowa Eclipse Wednesday, June 10, 1964 Mrs. Tillie Nicklaus Died Saturday Tillie Nicklaus, born August 1, 1900 near Parkersburg, passed away Saturday, June 6th at approximately 7:30 a.m. She was the daughter of Henry and Carrie Wildeboer Fleshner. She was united in marriage to August P. Nicklaus on January 31, 1917. They farmed north of Parkersburg until retiring in 1948 when they moved into town. She was a faithful member of the First Congregational Church, Parkersburg and also of the church's missionary society and ladies guild. She was preceded in death by her husband, July 2, 1953, by her parents and one brother. Surviving is: one daughter, Carolyn, Mrs. Markley Knock, Parkersburg; two sons, Delbert, Rockford, Illinois and Paul, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; four brothers: Dave Fleshner, Parkersburg; Henry Fleshner, Stout; Bennie Fleshner, Jesup; and Vernon Fleshner, Mason City; and one sister, Grace, Mrs. Sam Buss, Parkersburg. The funeral was held Tuesday at the First Congregational Church Parkersburg, under the direction of the Engelkes Funeral Home, Parkersburg, Rev. Nevin Haines officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg.
