James Berning officiating. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery, Madelia. She died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato. Elizabeth Heger, daughter of George and Elizabeth (Tiedeken) Nicklaus, was born June 26, 1911, in Parkersburg, Iowa. She grew up in Parkersburg and graduated from high school there in 1929. She married Joseph Heger on April 24, 1933 in Parkersburg. They lived and farmed in the LaSalle area. She also worked for several years at Tony Downs Foods in Madelia. After Joe died in June of 1983, she remained on the farm until residing at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia in the fall of 1998. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Madelia, and the Catholic women's group. She was also a member of the German Singers of Lake Crystal. She enjoyed collecting recipes, craftwork and gardening. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Heger-Gross and husband John of Medford; one son and wife, Lyle and Wila Heger of Anoka; one grandson, Matthew; one brother and wife, Fred and Rue Nicklaus, Parkersburg, Iowa; one sister, Frances Richman, Waterloo, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today with a 5 p.m. rosary and 7:30 p.m. prayer service and 9:30-10:15 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia.
