How the West Papuan make the bark bags - Process No. 2

Arowi 1, Manokwari, West Papua, Indonesia

by Charles Roring

Below is the making process of the bark bags and hats and flowers as explained by Ms. Ani. The photos were taken from the album belongs to Pondok Media Marturia, Arowi 1, Manokwari - West Papua.

After cleaning them, we dried these barks under the sun for one or two days.

The next process was drawing the pattern.

Then we cut the pattern, and glued, sew them.

Here all the members of PAM were involved in making the souvenirs.

We also made the traditional clothes from the bark.

Now they were being painted.

Done!

This nice bag is only Rp. 40,000 or
