Klondike Bluffs Trail, Moab 2004

Klondike trail is a moderately difficult mountain biking trail. It is out and back, the first half of the ride is all climbing, so there is lots of work to do to get to the overlook, then a blast back down.

The trail head is at the end of a smooth dirt road.

The trail starts out on the valley floor past amazing green formations.

Bud climbing up the trail in front of a group of 4 wheel drive trucks. Once on the steep, we left the trucks far behind.

It was a long, grueling climb.

Dynasaur footprints, ringed by stones.

More footprints.

The view from the top.

Bud, parched in the desert - just kidding!

Follow the white paint which marks the trail.

Bud on his bike with the Moab airport in the background.

Amazing Utah sky!

Derrick and Bud (left to right) at the top, Archs National Park in the background.

More of Archs as seen from the overlook.

The beginning of the trail can just be seen at the end of the road in the middle of this picture. Some climb! And they call this moderate in the guidebook!
