Land's End to John O'Groats
John and Brenda Clarke's Fight Cancer Fund Raiser
Bike Ride

I have been a Bradford primary school teacher for 29 years, 16 of these as a head of two local schools. I have always enjoyed the outdoor life and keeping fit. Having cycled 4200 miles across America in August 2003 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Following a mastectomy, chemotherapy, and resultant deep vein thrombosis, I am now back on the bike having been free from cancer for one year. I want to 'give something back' hence the reason for the ride for Cancerbacup.
- Brenda Clarke

The aim of the ride is to support Brenda and her cancer charity. But if you think the support group are superfit or superhuman, a quick profile reveals that we have two septegenerians, 5 over sixty, 3 young ladies who we would not dare ask their ages, but we know at least two are grandma's! Also amongst the team we have one pacemaker, two artificial hips and two with major surgery. So, get off the couch, find the maps and ride that bike!
