As we got higher, as the path got steeper and rockier, the trail got icier, things started looking iffy for a summit.
Some of us soldiered on, some thought better of the risks and turned back at the ice.  As none of us had ropes, crampons or ice axes, those decisions made a lot of sense.  A few soldiered on to the summit ridge - a knife edge ridge up the last 400 feet to the summit.  We were greeted with amazing views.
