Purple dragons are very intelligent and have a high curiosity. They travel the world seeking to learn about anything they do not yet know, or to learn more about something they know little of. They enjoy a good story, especially tales of heroes surviving against all odds.
Purple dragon wyrmlings are a very light purple in color. As they mature into adulthood the scales of a purple dragon get darker, reaching a deep dark purple at mature adulthood.
Purple dragons like to make their lairs in the wet jungles and rain forrests of the world. Using magic they make lairs with a circle of tree whos trunks all touch forming an impenatrable ring. The dragon need only speak to the trees and they will part for it to pass, reforming the ring as soon as the dragon is clear of the trunks. The trees also keep out intruders. Catching intruders and holding them within their branches. Within their lair is usually a deep pool of warm water in which they rest in while there. Purple dragons hide their treasure among the branches of their lair. They often befriend fairies who will stay behind and look after their lair while they are out. Taking care of the trees and plants.
Knowledge learned by a purple dragon is passed onto their offspring. So the more generations in a single purple dragon family the more knowledgible they are.
Purple dragons look just like red dragons, except for the obvious difference in color.
Combat
Purple dragons are not violent and when possible prefer to avoid combat. When forced into a fight they generally try to polymorph their enemies into harmless creatures such as toads or small lizards. They then gather them in their claw and deposit them somewhere far away. Leaving them to go about their new life.
Breath Weapon: Line of Lightning (Purple Bolt)
Electricity Immunity: Purple dragons are immune to electricity
Alternate Form (Su): A purple dragon can assume any animal or humanoid form of medium size or smaller as a standard action three times per day. this ability functions as Polymorph spell cast on itself as its caster level, except that the dragons does not regain hit points for changing form and can only assume the form of an animal or humanoid. The dragon can remain in its animal or humanoid form until it chooses to assume a new one or return to its natural form.
Water Breathing (Ex): A purple dragon can breath underwater indefinitely and can freely use its breath weapon, spells, and other abilities while submerged. (its breath weapon is extremely dangerous underwater the range is doubled as well as damage.)
