~When the weapon is first picked up a will save (DC 30)must be made or the weilder will be dominated for the day. The following day the roll is made again to see if the weilder or the artifact is in control. Every day the save is made to see who is in control. ~If the sword is grasped without the gauntlet a will save (DC30) must me made or the weilder will be turned to ash. Even if the save is made the weilder taked 10d6 dmg and suffers from nausia for 1d4 days. Here are its abilities THE GAUNTLET 1. Acts as a rod of absorbion, but wearer can throw back the absorbed spell as a free action. This forces the original caster to make the original saving throw. Unlike a rod of absorbtion it will only hold one spell at a time, if a second spell is attempted to be absorbed nothing happens and the save must be rolled normally. 2. Because the artifact itself is trying to control the weilder it takes great care to make sure that only it can gain control of the weilder. It blocks all psions and mind control except that of epic items, or characters. a +20 is added to the save of the weilder if an epic item, or caster other than Charons Claw itself tried to take hold. 3. Blocks all scrying attempts, and related spells. THE SWORD INT: 18 (+4) CHA: 18 (+4) WIS: 10 (+0) EGO: 28 Alignment: Chaotic Neutral +7 to hit/dmg 120ft Darkvision + Blindsight + Hearing Continuous Deathwatch: it has the continued death watch ability. Smoking Weapon: On command and with a swing of the sword it will created a 20ft circular radius of smoke around the weilder. Granting a 20% miss chance. The weilder is protected from the smoke. But anyone else within it begins to immediatly begins to suffocate and must make a fort save each round or choke to death. DC starts at 15, but each following round goes up by 1. The smoke lasts as long as the weilder desires. Blocks Infravision: Summons a white light to block the prying eyes of those with infravision. Keen Longsword: dmg 1d8 (Crit 17-20) When a successful critical hit is scored it instantly turns the person struck to ash, no save. On a normal attack that deals dmg the injured party must make a will save (DC 30)or suffer a -4 penalty to attacks,saves, skills etc. for the next 24hrs. If the save is successfull they do not need to make the save again and are immune to the effect for a period of 24hrs. Charons claw was a clawed gauntlet and sword that the infamous Artemis Entreri managed to get his hands on in the R.A. Salvatore novel SERVANT OF THE SHARD. This is a very powerful artifact and DM's should be careful when allowing it into a campaign.
