Chapter Nineteen: [Seattle, Washington. -- Wednesday, April 1st.]
"Where Justin?" Nick practically whined the next morning when he and Brian were now knocking on AJ's door. They had tried Justin's first so Brian could drop Nick off but he hadn't been there.
"I don't know, buddy," Brian said. "Maybe he's just really fast asleep under the bed or something and didn't hear us." He knocked on AJ's door just when AJ opened the door with a glare and a growl. AJ was grumpy. "Mornin' to you too, Age," Brian greeted AJ's growl. "Sleep well, I see?"
"I slept fine...but I don't really care to be woken up at seven in the morning!" AJ exclaimed, forgetting that they had to be at a radio station at seven thirty. He was going to mention he was also grumpy because he had woken up and Justin had been gone.
Nick pouted too also rather grumpy. "We no know where Justin tis," he said with an even bigger pout.
"AJ," Brian said as he walked past him and into the room. "We have to be at the radio station in a half an hour. We're leaving in ten minutes. You forgot to make a wake up call... we're just glad that Kevin's body is back to normal." It was true, when in good health Kevin's body worked like clock work. "Where's Justin anyways? He wasn't in his room and we thought he might be in here with you," Brian said as he looked around the empty room, no sign of Justin. Just as he was about to turn around and face AJ he noticed something on the balcony. "What the..."
Nick was already over at the balcony and opening it up and rushing outside, wondering why in the world his friend was sleeping outside. "Justin no sweepy outside...you get cold," he said as he shook Justin who was slightly damp because it was raining outside and some had gotten in the balcony even though it was covered.
AJ's eyes went wide and was soon outside with Nick. He had no idea why Justin had been outside or why he had fallen asleep out there. He didn't go to Justin though since Nick was kinda taking up the space and was already doing a pretty good job of waking him up.
Justin was curled up in the chair sleeping peacefully when all of a sudden someone was moving him like a madman. "Go away," he mumbled out as he turned over on to his other side and tried to go back to sleep.
Brian was standing at the sliding doors that led out to the balcony watching the scene before him. This was rather funny, he thought to himself. There was Nick on his knees trying his best to wake up the other teen while Justin shooed him away so he could go back to sleep. He thought it was like a baby golden retriever trying to wake up his owner with his nose. Nick being the puppy and Justin the owner. Brian laughed and turned to look at AJ. "How come he's out on the balcony... don't tell me ya'll got into a fight and you banned him to this place?"
AJ's eyes went wide and shook his head like crazy. "The last thing I remember he was snuggled in bed with me," he said honestly looking confused.
Nick pouted like crazy as he tried to wake Justin up again. "Me no go bye bye...you wake up!"
"Ohhhh," Brian said as he raised his eye brow and smirked a knowing smirk thinking that AJ and Justin had sex last night. "Okay." Then he looked out on to the balcony wondering why he was sleeping out there now.
Justin sighed as he rolled back on to his back and fluttered his eyes open only to look up in big blue eyes staring down at him. For a moment he was happy, everything that happened the past few days forgotten. He was back to the time when he had shared a room with Nick and Nick was waking him up... just like this. He smiled up at Nick. "Morning Nicky," he said with a hoarse throat before sitting up slowly. But the second he looked around and noticed that he wasn't in Nick's room his heart broke. "Ah man!" He exclaimed as he rubbed his face with his hands to get the sleep out. Quickly he stood up shivering.
Nick was up right away and ran back into the bedroom and past Brian and AJ who were looking in. He found a blanket on a chair and then ran back out giving it to Justin. "Justin cold...be cold no more," he said.
AJ's eyes went wide and he quickly went to help Nick. "Why are you out here J...why aren't you back in there with me?" He asked as they helped Justin back inside.
Justin's teeth shuddered as he walked back in the warm room with both Nick and AJ as well as the blanket wrapped around him. "I don't know. I remember walking out there when I couldn't sleep... you know to get a view of the city at night. I think I must have fallen asleep, obviously."
Brian shook his head and walked over to where the three people were. "I'm sorry to have to cut this short but we really have to be heading out to the radio station, in literally five minutes. The van's already here," Brian said looking at AJ.
Justin nodded his head. "It's okay. Nick and I will head back to my room," he said walking over to the door.
"Take a warm shower baby...Nick can just color in the bathroom while you do it," AJ suggested as he watched Justin and Nick walk out of the room.
Justin nodded his head and walked out before walking right back in and over to the nightstand table to where his key card and wallet was. He gave a sheepish smile and a shrug before walking right back out and over to his room.
Brian chuckled as he walked over to the door. "You think you can handle getting ready in four minutes?" He questioned. "Or do you want me to call the station and tell em we'll be a few minutes late?"
"I just need to get clothes and shoes on I'll be fine," AJ said as he threw on a pair of jeans not even bothering with underwear or the fact that Brian was standing right there watching him. He then got a t-shirt and a hat. "Okay I'm ready."
"Um," Brian said. "Okay." He then walked out the door and down the hall to Kevin's and Howie's room. He knocked on it and popped his head in. "Guys we're all ready."
Howie smiled as he grabbed his wallet and keycard before following Kevin out the door. "Did you guys find Justin?" He questioned as he looked at AJ and Brian.
"Yeah. he was outside on my balcony," AJ said still looking half asleep and not really confused as to why Justin had left him to go outside.
Howie looked at Brian hoping he could clear that up.
Brian shrugged his shoulders as they walked over to the elevator. "What he said. Justin fell asleep out on the balcony, at least, that's what he says."
"Whatever the reason we need to get going," Kevin said as they all headed out for the interview.
Justin threw his wallet and key card on the night stand table and the blanket on the floor. "Nicky, you got your coloring book with you?"
"Me gots everyting," Nick said as he put his backpack down on the bed and started throwing everything out of it including his coloring book, crayons, diapers, wipes and a few other little toys.
"Okay, okay, okay," Justin said as he chuckled walking over to Nick and stopped him from emptying his bag completely. "Um, I need to take a quick shower, why don't you go sit on the closed toilet seat and use the sink as your desk while I take the shower, okay?" Justin questioned as he walked over to his bag and took out a pair of boxers, jeans, and a long sleeved t-shirt. It was a slightly cold and damp day.
"Otay," Nick said as he followed Justin into the bathroom and got himself situated on toilet seat a sure sign that he wasn't scared to death of the toilet anymore. He had overcome those fears. "Why sweepy outside?"
"Oh, um," Justin said as he got into the shower and closed the glass doors. He started to take off his clothes and hung them on the top of the doors. "I just couldn't sleep so I thought I go out and take a look at the city. But I ended up falling asleep," Justin explained again. He started the shower, hot water before turning on the cold so that the water would be semi-hot.
"Ohh me see," Nick said as he started to hum a little song as he colored in his Scooby Doo coloring book.
"Okay," was all Justin said as he quickly soaped himself up and shampooed his hair before rinsing and turning the shower off. Taking the towel he dried himself off before grabbing his new clothes that he hung behind him on the hook and putting them on. He opened the glass doors and stepped out. "Let's go back inside the room."
Nick looked at Justin with wide eyes. "You take shower wit clothes on?" He asked since he had seen Justin get into the shower with his clothes on and now he came out with clothes on.
Justin laughed. "No man," he said. "I removed my clothes inside, took the shower, and put the new clothes on." He walked over to the bed and began putting Nick's things back in the bag so that there will be room on the bed for Nick to lie down and color even watch a movie or two.
"Where we go today?" Nick asked, not realizing that they would have to stay inside today since Justin's tutor was coming in about an hour.
"We're not going anywhere today, buddy, at least not until the guys get back," Justin said not really knowing the guys' schedule for today. All he knew was that this morning they had a radio interview, a photo shoot, sound check, and later that night the concert. "My tutor is coming in at nine or so today," he said all of a sudden feeling bad for Nick since the other blonde would probably be bored to death.
"What tutor?" Nick asked as he sat down on the end of the bed and started bouncing on his bottom.
"Since I can't go to school cuz I'm with you guys," Justin said. "The Boys said I could use their tutor... someone to teach me the things I need to know to get my high school diploma and actually graduate high school." Justin paused. "Hey, maybe we could ask her to teach you something if you're interested in learning how to read and write."
"Me too widdle for that," Nick said giggling a little. One thing that was still stuck in his head from his parents was them telling him over and over again how he was a baby and was too little to do anything.
Justin shook his head. "You're never too little to start learning things," he said sitting next to Nick and throwing his arm over his shoulder. "No matter what anyone has ever told you or what anyone will tell you, I want you to know that when it comes to learning there is no limit nor is there any age range to learning."
"Otay...me watch Sesame Street?" Nick asked excitedly knowing he had to watch the show in order to start his day. It was HIS show.
Justin chuckled as he looked at the time. There was still time before his tutor got there. "Sure," he said as he grabbed the remote and looked through the TV guide for what channel Sesame Street would be coming on. When he found it he turned it on and turned to PBS.
Nick was still busy singing and dancing along to the show when Mrs. Thompson knocked on the door ready to start the day of learning.
Justin walked over to open his door and smiled as he shook the hand of his tutor. "Mrs. Thompson, Good morning," he greeted.
"Hello Justin...I'm sorry I couldn't meet up with you sooner like I said I was going to." Said the very kind looking middle aged woman. Nick and AJ had always loved her, she was really down to earth and kind.
Nick didn't even pay attention to what was going on around him, he was too busy doing the ABC's with Grover.
Justin stepped out of the way so she could enter the room. "Don't worry about it. We've been pretty busy the past few days ourselves. I hope everything's alright with you," Justin said. He looked over at Nick and said, "Hey Nick, I’d like you to meet Mrs. Thompson."
Nick turned his head, smiled and said 'hi' before turning back to the TV.
Mrs. Thompson laughed, "I think he's preoccupied with something a lot more important then meeting me," she said as she walked in and put her bag down on the small table in the room.
"Yah, sorry about that," Justin said running his hands through his hair. He grabbed his new notebooks and joined her by the table.
"Don't worry about it, at least he's watching something educational," Mrs. Thompson said with a smile. "So tell me Justin, what have you been doing currently in English class? I don't want to teach you things you already know of course."
"Well, I'm in my junior year and I believe we're doing Modern American literature. I know we read The Great Gatsby and Beowulf already, plus I also have to take my SAT's this year," Justin said,
"What are you thinking about doing after high school?" Mrs. Thompson asked, thinking it would be best to start the day off, if not the whole day just going over a few things and getting to know each other.
Justin sighed. "Honestly? I don't have a clue. I was thinking about playing basket ball but I don't know," he said.
Just then the TV show was over and Nick didn't really like the one that was on after it so he got up and ran over to see what they were doing. "What doing?" he asked obviously hyped up for some reason.
Mrs. Thompson smiled at Nick but turned back to Justin. "But you do know that you want to go to collage since you're taking the SAT's."
Justin smiled at Nick and pulled a chair over for him to sit in. "Go bring your coloring books and you can color okay and turn the TV off on your way." He then turned over to Mrs. Thompson. "Well, yes, I want to go to college and now that I think about it I think I might major in acting or music or something like that. But I just want to take the SAT's just in case."
"Sounds like a good plan." Mrs. Thompson smiled as she pulled some things out her bag. "I think first off I'm going to tell you what I expect from you."
Nick walked over and got his coloring books and sat down with Justin at the table and continued to color his Scooby Doo coloring book.
"Oh okay," Justin said as he opened his notebook to take down notes.
Over the next hour, Mrs. Thompson went over what she expected from Justin and then answered any questions that he might have. Nick was surprisingly very quiet the whole time as he worked on coloring in his coloring book. It wasn't until that hour went by that he started to get slightly antsy.
Justin had been taking notes and listening and asking questions. When Nick started to fuss he smiled apologetically at Mrs. Thompson. "I'm also his watcher," he said before turning his attention to Nick. "Everything alright, buddy?" He questioned somewhat surprised that Nick had been quiet for this long.
"Yeah," Nick said as he rested his head down on the table looking obviously very bored.
Mrs. Thompson smiled and nodded her head. "Yeah, I know I was told about it and I think it's really good of you to want to help take care of him and come on tour to do so. You seem like an awesome friend."
"Sorry Nicky," Justin said as he placed his left hand on top of Nick's head and gently ran his hands through it, in a comforting manner. He smiled at his tutor. "I would do anything for him," he said and he didn't care that if his voice portrayed his true feelings for the other man.
Just then Mrs. Thompson's cell phone rang and she apologized and answered it talking for a few minutes. Once she was done she sighed. "Justin, I have to go meet up with management...I guess they have to talk to me. If you could do those pages of math I was telling you about for when I get back in about an hour it would be great."
Justin nodded his head. "No problem," he said and then chuckled. "By all means, take your time."
Mrs. Thompson laughed, "Okay I'll be back as soon as I can boys," with that she walked out of the room.
Nick looked over at Justin as he opened his math book and started to look at it. "What doing?" he asked curiously.
"I'm doing math," Justin said as he slid the book a little closer to Nick so he could see.
"Dat a one," Nick said pointing at the number one that was in one of Justin's math problems. He had learned that on TV earlier.
"Yes, that's a one. How about this?" Justin questioned as he pointed at the number two. "Do you know what this is?"
Nick had to think for a minute on that one before he shook his head in the negative. He had seen it before but he forgot what it was called. "Me forgot.."
"It's two. Do you know how you get the number two?" Justin questioned. "Like what do you add together to get two..."
That totally confused Nick, he didn't understand the meaning of the word add. "Me no, know."
"Um," Justin said as he wrinkled his forehead in thought. "When we say add... it mean's that when you put things together. When you increase the amount of something."
What Justin was saying was totally going over Nick's two year old head. He was still stuck back on what in the world the number two was. "Me no get what yous saying," he said giggling a little.
Justin sighed. "Okay." He looked around the area and then got an idea. He held out his pointer finger and then did the same with the other hand. "How many finger's am I holding up?" Justin questioned as he showed his right hand to Nick.
Nick looked at Justin blankly. The only teaching in anything he had ever gotten was from watching TV over the last few weeks. His parents never taught him anything so he was pretty much stuck not knowing anything at all.
Justin looked at Nick, blinking. "Okay, that's not working." He then took a hold of Nick's hand. "Do you know how many fingers you have on your hand?"
Nick simply shook his head, looking down at his hand.
"How old are you?" Justin questioned. "Can you show me with your fingers?"
That was something Nick knew and he held up two fingers. "Me dis many."
"And how much is that?" Justin questioned.
"Two," Nick said and then smiled big when he looked down at his fingers as if he finally got the relationship between the number and the fingers. "Two fingers."
Justin smiled. "Exactly!" He exclaimed, happily. "Can you show me one finger?"
Nick thought for a minute before sticking up his pointer finger. "Dat one?" he asked, not sure if he was right or not.
"Yup," Justin said. "That's one. Now if you ADD... as in stick your middle finger up along with your pointer finger, how many fingers do we have?"
Nick saw the familiar two fingers and smiled big. "Dat two," he said doing a little dance. He loved seeing two fingers up because that was HIM.
Justin chuckled as he nodded his head. "Yes! You wanna learn more?"
"No you do it," Nick said pointing at Justin’s math book. "Me color," he then turned back to his coloring book his mind having thought enough on math for the day.
Justin laughed. "Alright buddy, I think that's more than enough for today," he said as he went back to his 'home work.' He worked on the problems finding them quite easy to do. He'd finished all the problems Mrs. Thompson told him to do before the hour ended and found himself watching Nick color.
Nick looked up when he felt Justin looking at him. "Justin...me tirsty," he said all of a sudden realizing he was very thirsty.
Justin got up and walked over to Nick's bag. He'd seen a few bottles of apple juice, orange juice, and milk in there. "What do you want?"
"Appo Juice," Nick said with a big smile, he loved apple juice and it was good for his system especially after what he had gone through the day before.
"Apple juice it is," Justin said as he picked up the apple juice and walked over to where Nick was seated, handing it to him as he sat back down in his own seat.
Nick happily started to drink his juice as he leaned back in his seat a very content, happy look on his face.
Justin spent the next few minutes watching Nick with a smile on his face before there was a knock and Mrs. Thompson entered the room. Justin sighed as he noticed that it was about time she did arrive. "Welcome back," he said. "How did things go?"
"Good, they were just making sure I signed all the needed paper work to get paid...pay is a very good thing." Mrs. Thompson said as she walked back over to the table and looked at what Justin had done. "Good job, was that hard, easy or just in the middle for you?"
"I thought it was pretty easy," Justin said and then added. "I even got to teach Nick one and two." He smiled proudly.
"Wow, good job Nicky." Mrs. Thompson said as she ruffled the boy's hair. He smiled big before going back to drinking his juice and coloring. "Okay, now I have two books I need you to read in the next month, but I'm going to let you choose first." She then grabbed two books out of her bag. One was 'Of Mice and Men' and the other was 'Hamlet'. "I know one will be a lot more challenging then the other so that's why I'm going to let you choose which you want to read first."
"Hmm," Justin said as he looked at the book covers and then read the back of each book. "I think I'll do Hamlet first," Justin said. "It looks harder."
"It is a lot harder...not extremely difficult, I actually found it the easiest Shakespearian book to read." Mrs. Thompson said as she put 'Of mice and men' back in her bag to give to him later.
"I don't really like Shakespeare all that much," Justin admitted wrinkling his nose. "Might as well get this dude out of the way." He laughed. "So, I read this and do what?"
"I'll test you on it once you're finished. I'll give you two weeks to do it since I know you have a lot on your plate more then school work." She said with a smile, knowing Justin would need the same time frame on things that Nick and AJ had needed since their lives were so hectic.
Justin nodded his head. "Oh okay, thanks," he said. "How about my other subjects like language and science and P.E....?"
"We'll talk about that after we all take a lunch break, I know there is a little dude who is looking very bored next to us and could probably use some lunch and attention." Mrs. Thompson said with a smile as she stood. "I'll be back in two hours and we'll discuss all the rest of the things then."
Justin looked over at Nick as soon as Mrs. Thompson left. "Pizza... with sausage, bacon, and pepperoni," Justin said.
Nick nodded his head like crazy, that sounded, really, really good to him." Yeah me want dat...me want dat!"
"I know," Justin said as he picked up the phone and dialed room service. He ordered a large pizza with those toppings. "They'll be here in twenty minutes," he said once he was off the phone.
Nick nodded his head as he closed his coloring book and put his crayons back in their box and sighed. "When Daddy come home?"
"I have no clue," Justin said as he flopped down on the bed on his back. "Let me call and find out." He reached over to the nightstand table and took his cell phone off of its charger. He dialed AJ's number and waited as it rang.
AJ picked up on the third ring, they were just heading into their other interview when he heard it ringing. "Hello?"
"Hey," Justin said. "When ya'll coming back?" He questioned as he looked over at Nick,
"We probably won't be back until after the sound check, so I would say like three o'clock." AJ said knowing they still had quiet a few things to still do.
Nick was now looking out the window shifting from one foot to the other, doing a little dance as he looked out.
"Oh okay," Justin said. "Thanks. You all take care now."
"You too, I'll see you when we get home." With that AJ hung up the phone so he could head inside and get this interview finished.
"Day come home?" Nick asked, still looking out the window.
"Nope, not yet buddy," Justin said as he looked at the time. "They'll be here in a little under three hours." He walked over to the other blonde and placed his hands on his shoulders and started to knead them. "Everything alright?"
Nick nodded his head, "Yeah me otay."
Justin frowned. "You'll tell me when something's wrong, right? That's what best friends are for..." Justin said. "What are you thinking about?"
"Me otay, Justin...noting wrong." Nick said with a smile as he turned around to go look through his bag, once again throwing all the stuff onto the bed.
For some reason Justin wasn't buying that but he decided to let it go for the time being. "Whacha lookin' fo'?" He questioned in a sing-a-long tone as he skipped over to where Nick was.
"Binkie," Nick replied as he found his pacifier at the bottom of the bag. He and Brian had been in so much of a hurry that morning they hadn't had the time to put it on his shirt so they just threw it in the bag.
"Okay," Justin said as he sat down on the bed and turned the TV on. He saw that Mary Poppins was showing on one of those Turner Classic Movies stations. Scooting back so that his back was resting against the headboard he got comfortable.
Smiling, Nick moved so he was sitting next to Justin, his hand going to rest on his crotch almost like how he does when he's sleeping, but not exactly the same in this case. "What watching?" he asked, not recognizing the movie.
"Mary Poppins," Justin replied as he turned up the volume a bit more so they could here the movie better. "We're lucky too, it's just starting." They continued to watch the movie for a few more minutes when someone knocked on the door. Justin got up and went to answer. A few seconds later he walked back with a tray of large pizza and two plates. Sitting back against the headboard he placed the tray between them and a plate in front of them. He placed one slice on each plate. "Here you go."
"Tank you," Nick said politely as he started to eat his pizza and just watch the movie.
They continued to eat the pizza and watch the movie. It wasn't until an hour and a half later that the pizza was finished and the movie was almost over, since there were no commercials. "You need anything else?" Justin questioned.
Nick shook his head, "Nope me good," he was nice and full and rather content right about then. "You need anything?" he asked, just being a big boy and asking Justin the same question.
Justin chuckled. "Yah, I actually do," he said shaking his empty can of soda. "I'm gonna get me another can." With that he got up and walked over to the little fridge by the TV and took out another can of coke. Just then there was a knock on the door and Mrs. Thompson poked her head in. "Hey, you're back."
"Me want one," Nick said with a pout, he wanted a can of soda...he was sick of his juice since he had already had the orange juice by this point too.
"Yeah, I'm a few minutes early so you boys go ahead and finish up what you have to do." Mrs. Thompson said as she walked over to the table and started going over some things.
Justin looked over at Nick not really sure if the he should have any more caffeine much less any more soda since what happened yesterday. Justin sighed, he was definitely not a good influence on Nick if he was giving in so easily. "Alright," he said taking out another can of coke and popping it open for Nick before handing it to him.
Nick started drinking the soda with a big smile on his face. "Tank you Justin," he said smiling even more.
Mrs. Thompson laughed at the look on Nick's face. "I take it he normally isn't supposed to have soda pop?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
Justin wrinkled his nose as he shook his head. "No, but shhhh," he said. "Don't tell anyone and the same goes for you too buddy, you tell anyone and I'm in big trouble."
"Me say noting," Nick said as he burped really loudly. "Oopsy...scooze me."
This made Mrs. Thompson laugh even more. "Okay you two sneaky people it's time for Justin to get his butt back over here and look at the periodic table."
Justin groaned as he walked over to take his seat at the table. "Can't we just do earth science instead? I mean I already took physics and biology... do I really need chemistry?" Justin questioned with a big pout.
"Chemistry is what most juniors take," Mrs. Thompson pointed out as she opened up a chemistry book to the picture of the periodic table. "And it sounds like you could use the practice since you don't like it very much."
"I know," Justin said. "I did take it for a few weeks while I was still in school before I was pulled out to be on tour. It's not that I don't like it... it's just that there's too much of it... equations, compounds, elements, and yadda yadda yadda..." Justin looked at the periodic table and sneered at it.
"Well it's time to make friends with the table." Mrs. Thompson said as she started to go over with Justin one element at a time.
Forty-five minutes later Nick was wired for sound and bouncing around the room, the soda totally getting to him. "Boing, boing...boing!" he said as he bounced around the room.
Justin sighed as he finished writing down the full names of all the elements, according to the atomic numbers, as well as the symbols in his notebook AND indicating their physical states and properties. "Please tell me that that's everything," Justin pleaded.
Mrs. Thompson looked at Nick bouncing around the room and then at Justin who looked totally done for the day. "You're finished, why don't we call it a day and you can tend to your bunny."
Justin rolled his eyes before laughing. "Um, do I get any homework for this or is it just the Hamlet dude?"
"Hamlet and the next two pages in the math book." Mrs. Thompson said as she wrote down what she wanted Justin to do on a piece of paper and handed it to him so he wouldn't forget. "I would like the math problems done for tomorrow."
Justin looked down at the slip of paper and nodded his head. "Alrighty," he said. He stood up and walked Mrs. Thompson to the door. He wondered just where she was staying and how she was traveling with them since she wasn't staying in their bus but decided to just ask AJ instead. "Thanks for everything."
"You're welcome, I'll see you boys tomorrow." With that she waved and walked out the door and down to her own room.
"Boing, Boing, Boing." Nick continued to say as he literally bounced around the room.
Justin watched Mrs. Thompson walk down to her room and then closed the door with a sigh. "I should have never giving you the soda," he said in a whisper as he walked over to his bed. "You might break something if you don't stop bouncing around like that." He looked at the time and noticed that the guys should be back soon and knew that Brian would kill him if Nick was bouncing off the walls like he was at the moment.
Nick shook his head as he continued to bounce. "Me no break something." Those are always famous last words because before he knew what was happening he was bouncing by the table and a glass vase that did have water in it at one point ended up falling on the floor and breaking. He stopped right away and looked down at the mess. "Ut oh," he whispered.
Justin groaned and covered his face with his hands. "Uh oh is right Nick," he said walking over to where the shattered light blue glass vase and lillies were scattered on the floor, the water seeping into the dark blue carpet. "I wonder how much this is gonna cost," he thought out loud to himself before quickly dialing the front desk to ask for housecleaning to come up and quickly clean it up as well as pay them the money from his own wallet.
Nick could tell Justin was mad and looked at him with big blue eyes. "Me sorry..." he said hoping that would work.
"Oh no," Justin said as he hung up the phone after calling for housecleaning. "Don't look at me like that. It's not gonna work, nuh uh," he said looking away from Nick knowing that if he looked at Nick he would cave. "And I know you're sorry... I'm not mad." After all Nick was only two years old.
"Yous not?" Nick asked a little skeptical about that. What he did was naughty even he knew that. Justin had told him to stop and he hadn't and he had broke something.
"Yah, I'm not mad at you but that doesn't mean what you did was right or okay," Justin said. "It was an accident and yah, it's understandable just next time... stop when I tell you to or when anyone else tells you to okay?" Just then there was a knock on the door and he sighed in relief. Walking over and then opening the door he smiled at the woman in the white outfit. "Thanks for coming quickly," he said and walked her in to the room to where the broken pieces were. He watched her pick up the glass and flowers before vacuuming the area clean. Once she was done he asked for the price and nearly had a heart attack when she said $55. The glass vase, supposedly, was hand made with great care, intricate and detailed. Justin paid the woman and made sure it wouldn't come on the bill because he didn't want the guys getting in trouble with Lou.
Nick knew that was a lot of money. Hell, five dollars was a lot of money to him. Walking over to his coloring book he pulled one of the pages out and walked over to where Justin was closing the door behind the woman. He then tapped him on the shoulder.
"Yah," Justin said turning around and looking at Nick. "What's wrong?"
Nick simply handed the picture to Justin as if trying to make up for the money he was spending.
Justin smiled slightly. "Thanks buddy, but no thanks," he said. "I don't really feel like coloring right now." That's what he thought Nick was asking him to do. To color to get his mind off of losing $55.
Nick shook his head and tried to hand it to Justin again. "No...you keep...me made for you...me sowwy."
Justin sighed as he took the paper and placed it on the night stand table, right under his wallet and key card. "It's okay Nick," he said as he patted the seat next to him for Nick to sit down and then groaned when there was another knock at the door.
