Ending
The King of Fighters series had evolved and flourished since its creation, but this game completely changed the series. It began a new story, introduced a new main character, increased the size of the teams to 4 characters, and introduced the new Striker system. It isn't hard to tell what high hopes SNK had for this game which began their new saga. However, due to the significant changes, many fans believe that this is one of the more inferior games in the series. However, in my opinion, it was an excellent innovation to the series, adding a breath of fresh air. Coincidentally, this is the game that got me hooked on the series.
