TEXTBOOK: GEOMETRY AN INTEGRATED APPROACH, Heath - McDougal Littell,
                    1998

DESCRIPTION:  Geometry is a course designed to emphasize critical thinking involving
                         the discovery of relationships and their proofs and skill in applying the
                         deductive method to mathematical situations.

CONTENT:  Topics shall include, but not be limited to, logic and reasoning, lines, planes,
                   angles, triangles, similarity, congruence, geometric inequalities, polygons and
                   circles, area and volume, and constructions.

MATERIALS:

        1.  You are to bring your covered book, notebook, paper, and pencil each day to
             class.
        2.  Your textbook is to be covered at all times.
        3.  Do not write in your textbook.
        4.  I prefer a pencil be used for all work.   See me to purchase one for 10 cents.

ASSIGNMENTS:

        1.  Homework has a point value of 2.
        2.  Assignments with answers only will not be accepted and will receive no points.
        3.  Criteria for points for homework
                a.  2 points  - all work shown and all problems attempted and be in your
                    possession when class begins.
                b.  1 point  - homework is not complete ; missing problems
                c.  0 points  - answers only, not available to me at requested time.
        4.  Assignments will not be accepted late without an excused absence.
        5.  We will be going over homework daily.  You are to correct your paper and
            complete it as we go over it.  Do this in a different color so you can use it to
            understand your errors.  Do not erase your mistakes.  Cross them out and write
            the correct answer.
            THIS IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE LEARNING PROCESS.
        6.  If you are absent, you must find out what the assignment was and turn it into
            the teacher.  I will grade the paper and return it to you.
        7.  I am available for extra help.  See me to make arrangements.

NOTEBOOK

        1.  A notebook is required.  It will have a point value of 100 points and must contain:
                a.  Factsheet - issued to you on your first day in this class.
                b.  Assignment list - can be a datebook or an assignment list in binder.
                c.  Theorem list
                d.  Vocabulary cards
                e.  Notes in order by date with review problems, explanations, and other
                    activities we do in class..
                f.  Assignments in order by date, with errors marked and corrections shown.
                g.  Journal assignments in order by date.
        2.  It will be picked up on test days at least 2 times during the quarter.
        3.  A 1  or l l/2 inch ring binder works best.
                You may not use folders with pockets only.

EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS

        !.  Employability skills is mandated by the county and will count as 20% of your
            quarter grade.
        2.  Employability skills will include, but not be limited to, the following:  attendance,
            coming to school and class on time, bringing required work tools to class,
            maintenance of an assignment notebook or similar system, completion of
            homework,  attitude of cooperation with teacher and fellow students, observance
            of dress code, and time in class is devoted to the appropriate task.
        3.  You will receive 100 points per quarter for employability skills.  If there are no
            infractions, you will automatically receive the points.  Points will be deducted and
            score totaled at the end of the quarter.
