 Previously on Diagnosis Murder:

  • Dr. Sloan is invited to host some lectures at the Habsberg University; he intends to bring Amanda and Jessie to lend a hand.
  • Steve's has a date with Julie and it ends in tears
  • One week later Mark, Jessie and Amanda arrive at the university, after leaving their first lecture they discover a Body, that of Arthur Simms the university Chaplain. His neck was broken, he was murdered.
  • The finger is pointed at Mr. Bixby one of the boarding house leaders
  • Jessie meets up with his girlfriend Lacy, who is a teacher at the University, their relationship is taken to the next level.
  • Mark hunts for evidence to implicate Bixby by breaking into his study.
  • Another body turns up, this time that of a student found floating face down in a swimming pool. The gang is at the scene of the crime when Steve receives a phone call; Steve finished his call and walked toward his father. "Dad we've got a serious situation back in the city, you remember the bus bombing that looked like a possible terrorist attack a few months back? Well while we were out here it appears that they've struck again, three buses in the centre of the city just exploded simultaneously, the police believe there connected. I've been reassigned; I'm off the case. I got to head back immediately".

AND NOW THE CONCLUSION-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ok, I'll come with you I've got some evidence I've got to get examined at the police station, lets go" said Mark. With that Mark and Steve explained what happened and headed back to the city centre, leaving Amanda and Jessie to watch Bixby very closely. Mark said he would be back by tomorrow. Mark and Steve journeyed back to the city in Steve's car, the whole journey was filled with an uneasy silence, they hardly spoke, they just sat there attempting to straighten out in their minds the terrible events of the last few days. When they got to the police station Mark broke the silence by enlightening Steve on his extra circular actives concerning the campus murder investigation. Steve was not happy to say the least, "you do realise that if you had got caught the entire investigation could have been jeopardised-" Steve said angrily, he then paused for a moment to calm down and then continued. "But I guess that never stopped you before ok what have you found" Steve asked. "I photographed some documents of Bixby's that I thought were useful, I'm having them developed now by one of your officers, they should be ready within the hour. They looked like finical reports, do you have a specialist here in that area" asked Mark. "Yeah Frank Walker he specialises in financial fraud and embezzlement. You think that's what were dealing with here?" Steve asked. "I'm not sure but there was something funny about the documents, but I only had a brief look" Mark replied. "Ok I'll call him in, he should arrive at the station by the time the film is developed".

Within the hour the documents were ready for view and Walker was examining them closely, Steve had already left to follow up a lead on the bus bombings.

Walker began to relate his findings to Mark. "What we have here is one of the most brilliant embezzlement schemes I've ever seen in my twenty years in the business. Who ever did this has been embezzling money for I would say about 15 years from the university funds, a little here and there. I reckon there's at least million embezzled". Walker announced. " million, how would someone like Bixby do this, he is only a teacher?" asked Mark. "A number of ways really, ordering equipment for the university but getting it cheaper than quoted and keeping what's left. With medical equipment being so expensive you could tie up a big profit quite quickly. You also said that he is incharge of a boarding house, abusing these funds would be easy. But I do agree that it is a very large amount. I can't imagine this is the job of one person," Walker added. Mark looked at him thoughtfully and said, "I think your right". They continued to go through the records to get a better idea of how this crime was achieved.

Meanwhile Steve was heading up the bus bombing investigation; he and his team were following up a lead and were about to enter a supposedly abandoned warehouse where they suspected terrorist members were stationed, the warehouse was in a bad state of disrepair. Steve and his team had arrived on site with the philosophy of taking no chances, it was clear that they were dealing with serious people. His team comprised of him and 9 other heavily armed policemen including bomb squad, each complete with body armour and automatic weapons.

When they were in position Steve gave the go-ahead and the door locks were cut. They proceeded with caution, the warehouse was full of boxes and strange looking materials. The team was ready for any trouble, stealthily moving through the gigantic space. Then suddenly the sound of automatic gunfire was all around them, and by the time they had taken cover, four officers were dead. Steve and the others began retaliation, taking two targets down. Steve spotted that there were at least another two shooters. One of the officers began to call for backup just before he received a bullet through the head. Steve managed to take another enemy target down, but not before a sixth officer was taken down. With the odds of 4 to 1 Steve managed to call for backup on his radio before he and his team searched for the last assassin. Just then Steve heard rapid gunfire, the sound of someone emptying an entire machine gun clip and he felt a sharp pain in his right arm and a sharp pain his lower right leg. He was hit and quickly fell to the floor from the pain and shock of the bullets hitting him, as he fell he turned his body round to face the enemy target and fired 4 shots into his chest taking him down.

10 minutes later backup arrived to find that only three officers survived, Steve made his report before he was taken to the hospital while the police stayed on to pick up the pieces and hopefully find some clues to the identify of this new terrorist group. They also hoped to establish the identities of the four dead terrorists before the day was over. Back at police headquarters Mark received the news about Steve, Mark headed to the hospital as soon as he could, but consoled himself that it he had only received minor flesh wounds and that he would be out by the end of the day. When Mark got to Community General Amanda was there waiting. As soon as she had heard the news she returned as quick as she could, leaving Jessie to hold the fort, Mark was pleased to see her. Amanda filled Mark in, it turned out that Steve wasn't too bad, both shots went straight through, missing the bone and missing his major artery. Mark then went to see Steve who was already sitting up in bed. After expressing his relieve for his sons welfare Steve filled him in on what happened. Mark then left Steve to rest and returned to the police station to continue his investigation.

After a hard afternoon's work at the police station Mark returned to Community General to check up on Steve, he was looking well, he was sat up in bed reading a fishing magazine when he saw Mark come in, "Hi Dad, how's the investigation going detective?" Mark smiled at the reversal of roles, his son was in the hospital and he was in the police station solving murders. "Its going ok, we're finding some very interesting stuff, this Bixby is quite a character, but I won't bore you with the details now. I wanted to see how you were not talk business". Steve looked disappointed that Mark wouldn't talk about the case but Steve knew his father was right, this wasn't the time. It was time to spend some time with each other, Steve's injuries may have only been minor but a lot of people died today and he came very close as well. Father and son just spent the rest of the evening talking, catching up and having a laugh, as they both knew that quality time together should never be taken for granted.

CHAPTER 9: DOUBLE THE DATES-DOUBLE THE FUN?

At 6 PM Amanda unlocked the door of her house, closed the door, took off her black coat, tossed off her shoes and slumped down on the living room couch, it was time to unwind. Just before leaving the hospital she had checked in on Steve and Mark, she once more expressed how nice it was to see Steve making a good recovery and told him that he would be released in the morning. Mark and Steve then wished Amanda good luck and she left. The good luck refereed to her date with Bixby. If only she had said something different at the time Amanda wouldn't be in this situation, this was Amanda first thought as she lay back on the couch, now she was about to go on a date with a creep, and a potential murderer. Of course she could have backed out but Steve and Mark thought it would be a good idea as Amanda might be able to catch him off guard and get him to give something away, something that would bring him down. No matter how much she wanted to back out she couldn't do it, she felt a certain reasonability to her friends and the people at the university. If another murder occurred after she passed up her chance to stop it, she wouldn't be able to forgive herself. She resolved to the get the truth out of Bixby, and she would use every means at her disposal to do it.

Meanwhile across town Jessie was preparing for his date with Lacy, Jessie was wondering how he was going to top the last one, but he had a few ideas. Start it off with a movie, followed by dinner at an expensive restaurant and then hopefully back to his place for desert. Jessie thought he looked smart as he looked at himself in the mirror, he was wearing black trousers and a light blue shirt, and a smart but casual black jacket completed his look. He looked at his watch it was 7 PM, it was time to pick up Lacy, he left his apartment eagerly, got into his car and headed for Lacy's apartment. Lacy was ready and waiting for Jessie and saw him park outside from her second floor apartment, she locked up and went down to meet him. Jessie got to the front door of the apartment building just as Lacy emerged; the sight of her just blew him away. She looked beautiful; she was wearing an elegant flowing red dress. Lacy could see what Jessie was thinking from his face and she blushed and smiled back. They exchanged pleasantries before getting into Jessie's car.

Back across town Amanda was putting the final touches to her appearance, she was wearing a strapless long white dress that hugged the contours of her body accenting her cleavage. She wore medium size high heals, and she had her hair tied up in a pony tale, leaving her neck exposed. She didn't wear much makeup apart from a deep red lipstick that made her lips look fuller and stand out. She checked herself one more time in the mirror; her conclusion was that she was irresistible. Suddenly the doorbell rang which startled her, Mr. Bixby was here, and it was time to go to work. She answered the door and greeted Bixby was an award-winning smile. Her appearance had the desired effect on him, he took one look at her and he began to melt; he would be putty in her hands. Amanda locked her door and they left for the restaurant.

It was now 9 PM and on the other side of town Lacy and Jessie were settling down to a first class dinner, but everything hadn't quite gone as expected. "I'm sorry about the movie Lacy, it was boring wasn't it, that's the last time I take advice from Mark" Lacy reassured him that it wasn't that bad and it didn't matter. "It wasn't that bad Jess, it was just a little hard to follow, I didn't know there were going to be subtitles, I should have brought my glasses" Jessie looked concerned, but Lacy continued noticing a disheartened look on his face. "Its ok Jess, I didn't come out for the movie, I came for you". She stretched out her hand and took hold of Jessie's. Everything was ok; they sat back and enjoyed their dinner.

On the other side of town- Amanda and Bixby were in the middle of dinner, Amanda ordered the most expensive item on the menu, the lobster, but Bixby didn't care he was just taken with her beauty. Amanda was trying to get inside his head, what was he thinking, perhaps he thought all this fine dinning would get her to sleep with him, but there was no chance of that. Amanda had probed him for information for most of the dinner, but she found out nothing. When she brought up the murders he seemed shocked as everyone else was; he showed no sign of guilt. She tried everything to catch him off guard, to distract him enough so he would spill the beans. She tried to get him to notice her body, leaning towards him when he spoke, allowing him full view of her cleavage, stroking her thigh occasionally, reapplying her lipstick in front of him, licking her lips seductively as she did so. It was certainly breaking his concentration and when she saw this she probed more and more, but he gave no information away, no look of guilt appeared. All she was sure of was that she was confirming his impression that he was going to get lucky tonight, so Amanda decided to give up. All she had learned from him was some boring information about him growing up in South Africa. His father was South African, but his mother was French, that accounted for his strange accent which was a strange mixture of both, which made a lot of what he said difficult to understand.

Amanda was half way through her main course, and half way through her second bottle of champagne, she found that his stories were much more entertaining when she had a drink in her hand. By the end of dinner she had drank 4 bottles of champagne, Amanda felt very wobbly and sick. Bixby saw that she wasn't doing too well and after paying for the meal drove her home. During the drive Amanda passed out. After a 10-minute journey he pulled up outside Amanda's house, helped her out of the car and escorted her to her door. He opened the door for her, gave her a passionate kiss on the lips, she tried to resist the kiss but couldn't, he then wished her goodnight. He then returned to his car and drove away. Amanda struggled to get inside the house, she just managed to lock the door and collapse on the couch in a heap. Her last thought before she went into a long sleep was that Bixby had surprised her, he was gentlemen, as well as a killer.

Meanwhile Jessie and Lacy's date drew to an end, Jessie parked his convertible outside Lacy's apartment block, they got out and Jessie walked her to her door on the second floor. When they got to her door Jessie gave her a passionate kiss, Lacy leaned back on the door as he did so and put her arms around Jessie. They stayed in a locked embrace for what seemed like forever. When they finally came up for air Lacy spoke, "do you want to come inside Jessie", "I'm not sure it's a good idea, I've got a big day tomorrow, helping Mark with the investigation and all" was Jessie's reply. "Are you sure" as Lacy said it she pressed herself up against Jessie's body and gave him an unbelievable kiss that made his toe's curl. "On second thoughts it's really Mark's case, I'm just along for the ride, I'm not a cop or anything." And with that Jessie followed her into her apartment.

CHAPTER 10: PUTTING IT TOGETHER

The next day Mark and the now recovering Steve joined Amanda (who was also recovering from an almighty hangover) and Jessie at Mark's beach house to discuss the results of yesterday's findings. Mark began the briefing "we've established that Bixby has embezzled just over .1 million from the university funds over the last ten years. Further investigation of his bank holdings reveal several Swiss accounts where money has been distributed into equal amounts. However there is an additional piece of the puzzle. The money in the accounts adds up to over million. Which we believe Bixby acquired in other scams probably at the last job he served". Mark paused. "If he's done this before why wasn't the university aware of this"? Asked Jessie. Mark had an answer, "Bixby's previous job was in a wealthy school in South Africa and a very prestigious one, it burnt down shortly after Bixby left, destroying all finical records as they had not upgraded to computer at the time. If it wasn't for this unfortunate accident then Bixby would probably be behind bars by now." Mark concluded. "Were they sure it was an accident, we know the kind of man this guy is" asked Amanda. "No there wasn't anything funny about the fire, the report carried out at the time concluded it was an accident". Added Steve.

"Due to the large amounts of money taken from the university we concluded it couldn't have been done alone due to the wide number of areas the money was taken from. He had a partner, Arthur Simms." Mark revealed. "So to conclude, Bixby and Simms were embezzling from the university for years, but Simms was getting cold feet, or perhaps too greedy for his own good, either way Bixby saw he had to get rid of him, a fight broke out and Simms was killed. And as for poor Paul Clark we must conclude that he witnessed the event and was killed to prevent the truth from emerging. Indeed if I hadn't noticed Bixby limping that night we wouldn't even have worked this out" Explained Mark. Steve continues, "The killing of Paul was expertly done, made to look like suicide, my best guess is that Bixby planned to frame Paul for the murder and make it look like he killed himself afterwards. If it wasn't for us already having Bixby insight we may have believed it". Steve relayed.

Mark looked at Amanda who seemed to have a bad headache and she didn't seem quite with it. Mark also noticed that she was on her eight cup of coffee. "Amanda did your date with Bixby uncover anything that might be useful- to the case I mean" Everyone was amused at the obvious fact that the date had gone badly, yet they were very eager to here her findings. Amanda composed herself, "I'm afraid I've got nothing, I probed him for three hours, nothing, no sign of guilt or anything. But the last hour wasn't so bad as the alcohol had started to kick in". Mark was disappointed that nothing had turned up, he also felt sorry for Amanda, she had put herself on the line and she had noting to show for it. But it was time to move on to other matters and the silence was soon broken.

"So what's the next step, arrest Bixby?" Amanda asked. "No we can't yet," Mark said looking frustrated. "Although we could easily get him on embezzlement it's not certain that we could get him for murder, although the motive is there, we have no hard evidence, only circumstantial. We're continuing to look for the jacket but so far it hasn't turned up. We need something more- (It dawns on Mark) and I believe I know who can help us there" a smile comes to Marks face, but a look confusion is present on everyone else.

CHAPTER 11: PATRIOTS

Steve was now out of his sling and continuing the terrorist investigation, at 2:00pm in less than an hour they would be briefed by their captain who had been working jointly with other security organisations across the state, rumour was that he had something big to report, Steve waited hopefully. Steve still had 7 hours before he had to meet his Dad to execute their plan. Eventually the clock struck 2:00pm and the briefing began, the captain gathered around the officers and began; "We have identified the suspects Detective Sloan and his team took out at the warehouse raid. We believe they belong to a terrorist group called ‘Third Way' who have ties to several Middle Eastern countries". They refer to themselves, as ‘Patriots' who want to take matters into they're own hands and crush their enemies, of which they have many in an attempt to empower the Middle East. There aim, to make every American a target, to live in fear, this is why they are hitting civilian transports and last month a number of family houses picked at random all over the west coast were destroyed." The captain paused knowing that his next revelation would not be nicely received.

"As from now the LAPD have been taken off the case, it is only the fact that we helped identify suspects and capture terrorist materials that we are even being told this much. From now we are off this case and you all will be reassigned within the next 24 hours. ‘Third Way' is now in the hands of the CIA, CTU and NSA, to use there words, ‘Third Way' poses too much of a threat to be left in the hands of amateurs like us'. Well that's government gratitude for you. There's nothing I can do about it, believe me I've tried, but the government doesn't exactly worship the L.A.P.D., that's it folks". With that the captain left. Steve like the rest of his team was devastated that they were off the case that had claimed so many of his friends and for which they had also taken bullets for. The rest of his team looked at Steve in disbelief at the news, and as the team leader he couldn't just take it lying down. "I'm going to talk to the Captain" Steve announced, he proceeded to the office, but even as he approached the captains door he knew he couldn't change anything, he just knew he had to try.

Steve knocked on the Captain's door and entered, you could tell Steve was holding back a lot of anger as he spoke; "My men died and took bullets to take out these terrorists and now your saying it was all for nothing?" The captain took a while to compose himself before answering. "They didn't die for nothing Steve, your team made a major breakthrough and have increased the likely hood that these people will be caught. But the case is just too big for us to handle, I have made the CIA an offer of assistance, which is still open but they refused it, believe me I feel the same way you do, but that's not going to change anything. Steve just stood there defeated, the Captain tried to comfort him with the news of the governments offer of awarding high honours to him and his team, both those living and dead. At least their bravery would be noted, but it was bittersweet. However Steve didn't have time to continuing arguing with the captain pointlessly, so he gracefully gave the captains his objections which the captain noted and quietly left the office. He now had to prepare for his appointment with his father, Amanda, Jessie and hopefully Bixby.

CHAPTER 12: TO CATCH A THEIF- AND MURDERER

The gang assembled in the boarding house common room and began discussing final details of the plan. "Are we ready" Mark asked as everyone went through the plan one more time, everyone said they were. "Right this has got to work, if not Bixby could get away with murder!" Outside a storm was brewing, thunder and lighting filled the sky.

1 HOUR LATER-.

Bixby was returning from dinner, he approached his office when he noticed that the door was ajar and the light on. He approaches wearily only to find student Jamie Myers at his desk rummaging through his papers, the same ones that Dr. Sloan made copies of. He is crying and unaware of Bixby's presence as he creeps up on him, then he suddenly looks up and straight into Bixby's eyes. "You did it didn't you, you killed Paul and the chaplain, just like Dr. Sloan said, I heard him talking just now. I didn't believe it at first, I had to check for myself, why, why!" Jamie asked. "You ask why" Bixby replied coldly "money that's why, they were interfering with my plans, I had to stop them, just as I have to stop you" Bixby exclaimed. Jamie's anger now turned to fear as he began to slowly back away from Bixby. "You really think you can get away with killing me as well?" Jamie asked. Just then Bixby picked up the letter opener from the table and continued slowly towards Jamie. "By the time they find your body, I'll be out of the country with my millions and this place will be but a memory to me, and there's nothing you can say or do to stop me.

At this point Jamie was backing away much quicker, he passed the door of the office and continued down the corridor, then Bixby emerged from the office. "Hold it Bixby, drop the weapon" came a voice from behind the door, he then came out from hiding, it was Steve with his gun in hand pointed at Bixby. The rest of his team, Amanda, Jessie and his father then joined Steve. Mark then stood face to face with Bixby, holding a cassette in his hand that Jamie just handed to him, "We've got it all Bixby, its over" said Mark triumphantly. Steve disarmed Bixby and read him his rights, "You're under arrest, for the murders of Arthur Simms, Paul Clarke and the attempted murder of Jamie Myers. You have the right to remain slight, anything you do say may be held in evidence against you, you have the right to an attorney, if you can not afford an attorney one will be provided for you ". Two other police officers join them ready to take Bixby to the station, then suddenly there was a terrifying noise, and the lights flickered and then went off, the storm has knocked out the power. Bixby took full advantage of the situation, punching Steve in the stomach, relieving him of his gun and shooting the other two officers dead. Bixby then ran through the corridor to the main entrance, where three other cops were positioned as backup. Bixby came running at them fast, surprised they quickly reach for their guns but Bixby put 3 rounds into them, they are dead before they even hit the ground. Meanwhile Steve back in the building gets back on his feet, draws his back up gun "Call for back up" Steve shouts and then starts pursuit of Bixby, while attempting to adjust his eyes to the darkness. Steve exits the building to be confronted with the pouring rain and periodic lightening which was the only thing that illuminated the area. Steve sees Bixby in the distance running towards the main building, Steve shouts at him to stop but Bixby only turns around and fires at Steve.

Steve ducks for cover as Bixby fires 2 rounds at Steve. 6 back there, two here, only 8 left Steve thought to himself. Steve continued pursuit just in time to see Bixby shoot the main building door open. Steve approached the door with caution, his gun at the ready, as he entered he hugged himself against the wall, straining his eyes to find his target through the pitch black hall ways, only illuminated by the odd bolt of thunder and the full moon. Suddenly a shadow moved across the wall directly in front of Steve, he ducks just in time as two shots come his way, bursting into the wall that Steve was just seconds before in front of.

From his position on the floor Steve fired two shots in a desperate attempt to hit his target, but he missed. He slowly got on his knees and began to advance, only to hear Bixby's foot steps as he ran up the main staircase. Steve followed in hot pursuit, arriving on the first floor in time to see the library door closing. Steve took a second to compose himself before charging in. He was confronted with row upon row of unlighted bookshelves everywhere around him, it was like a maze, it was impossible to see anything much. Just at that moment Steve heard a volley of gunshots, with the mussel flares illuminating the library for 4 split seconds. It happened so fast that when Steve had ducked for cover, he had already received a bullet in the leg and another, which scrapped the left side of his chest. Steve took aim and fired back, three shots of his remaining six shots were now gone in vein.

Steve then heard a noise from the libraries upper floor; realising Bixby was now above him, he began to climb the spiral staircase, leaving a trail of blood behind him. Yet all he could see was blackness as he scanned the floor, by this time he could hear the police sirens announcing his back up was close, but was it close enough to save him he thought. Then Steve saw his target, the moon cast Bixby's shadow onto the wall and with that Steve fired two shots, one missed, with the other hitting Bixby in the leg and knocking him to the ground. Steve approached where Bixby was positioned; he had him, yet he could not see his face. He ordered Bixby to lie on the ground face down, he kept grunting in agony. "Your under a rest, you have the right to remain silent, so shut up!" Steve announced. "I can't go to prison" announced Bixby "I've always lived a free live, no man made cages for me" Steve continued to advance taking no notice of him. He approached Bixby on his left side, positioning himself in front of the glass guard-rail that separated him from a 3 meter drop to the library floor. Bixby then got to his knees with lightening speed just before Steve could cuff him and reached for his gun, Steve reacted quickly, and he aimed his gun, as Bixby's chest turned into view he fired.

To Steve's horror his gun was now empty and Bixby was still standing, with a little smile on his face Bixby used the last of his strength and fired at Steve just as he collapsed on the floor dead. The bullet hit Steve causing him to fall backwards, through the glass rail, down to the floor below. There Steve lied, unable to move, surrounded by broken glass with a bullet in his right side and two minor wounds, and cut many times by the falling glass that never seemed to stop. Surrounded by the coldness of the library, illuminated by the moon, and the last thing he heard before passing out was the sound of the police and ambulances arrive.

* * *

TWO DAYS LATER-

Steve woke up surrounded by Friends, Jessie, Amanda and of course his father Mark. Steve was recovering from his injuries well and had just been moved from intensive care after spending the last 36 hours drifting in and out of consciousness. Mark spoke first, voicing their relief that he was ok, Jessie then told Steve that Bixby was dead and that the university was reopening its doors. They couldn't stay long, Steve needed his rest, Amanda departed first, but not before giving Steve a loving kiss on the forehead. Jessie left for his next date with Lacy, bringing a smile to Steve's face as he left, as he saw the promise of a wonderful evening lighting up Jessie's face in the way that made him so likeable. Mark was the last to leave, before he did he just looked at his son for what seemed like an eternity, Steve could see the love in his fathers face, and Mark could see the love in his sons.

Steve was now left alone, to rest, to ponder the events gone by; he began to think about his life, how he kept putting his life on the line, and what for he wondered? To protect people that he had never before seen. He had toyed with the idea of leaving the police force many times before; usually it took an injury of this type to cast the seeds of doubt towards his future. But every time he doubted what he did, he always-ended up resolving to continue. Seeing the victims of pointless crimes was what drove him, and to see those horrible flames of evil perish when he went in for the kill, as he saw in Bixby before he died. He liked seeing justice, helping people to regain there lives after a tragedy, he remembered the thanks he got for all those countless assignments, of which this one was just the latest. The gratitude meant something to him; unlike other cops down the station he hadn't stopped caring. And it was for these reasons that Steve resolved to get better, and get back out there, to protect people, people like him, and his friends.

Mark was walking down the hospital corridors, his mind preoccupied with recent events, he then saw Doctor Julie Fisher coming towards him, she looked worried. "I heard about Steve is he ok, what happened", take it easy Julie he's fine he's resting at the moment, you can see him soon, I Didn't realise you two were still together, I had got the impression there was some sort of fight" said Mark. "We did have a fight a week ago, but Steve came round to my apartment, we talked it through, we're ok now" replied Julie. Mark was pleased that everything was ok between them. Mark went to see if Steve was still awake, Steve was and saw his father approaching. "Son Julie's here to see you, she's outside, I thought you two broke up?" asked Mark. "It looked bad for a while, you know I was seeing Sarah down at the station, well she found out". "How did she take it" mark asked, "Not that well, but I saw her again a few days ago, told her I broke it off with Sarah and that I wanted Julie, which I do, now everything seems to be ok.

Julie walked into the room, she smiled at Steve, Mark left them alone to talk. "Hi, I'm glad your ok- I missed you last night, I was so worried". "I missed you too, I'll try not to scare you again" replied Steve. Julie came closer; she sat down beside him, and put her hand on his. " I Love you so much Rachel", "What did you call me" screamed Julie, with that she leapt off the bed and grabbed her purse, "that's it Steve Sloan you've had your last chance with me" and with that she left, Steve shouted after her "Julie I'm sorry, it's the drugs, I'm on a lot of medication", but Julie was gone. Julie stormed out the room and walked right past Mark with an angry expression on her face, Mark just stood there astonished.
