The morning starts out as
usual for Steve and Mark.
Running down the beach. Steve stops and bends down
with his hands on his knees. Looks up at his father
still running. Hey! Looking back, he jogs back to
his son whos breathing hard. Whats the matter son?
Cant keep up with the old man? Real funny Dad, real
funny Steve straightens up and takes off leaving Mark
standing still. Hey! With a surprise look on his
face. Mark races off after his son. That little. He
thinks hes going to pull something over on me. Hes
got another thing coming. Just as Mark almost catches
up to Steve. Steve stops. Hey, come on let me catch
you while youre running Cutting the end off of
running.
Mark looks in the direction that Steve is staring at.
Steve? Looking over at his father I dont know
taking off leaving Mark once again standing still.
A dead body is sitting slumped over a keyboard as
Cheryl is starting her investigation. She glances over
just enough to see Steve running up to the house.
Steve! Smiling, she heads over to the door and stops
him before coming in. The body is of a man that
apparently was on the computer. The lab techs are
gathering everything off of his desk including the
computer. Hoping that there could be something on the
hard drive as to why this man was killed. Cheryl hey
whats going on? just as Steve gets this out, Mark
finally catches up to him. Cheryl Breathing hard.
Hi, Mark Seeing a look of surprise in Marks face.
Mark is something wrong? This is Maxs house
Pushing threw her and Steve. Mark rushes in side the
house. Man, Max shaking his head. Dad, you know
this guy? Sure do, I met him while running on the
beach. Got to be pretty good friends. I see Mark
goes up to the tech that is about to unplug the
computer. Wait! The techs look at him wondering what
hes up to now. Mark takes a pencil and hits a key on
the keyboard to get the screen back on. Seeing that
Max was on an online dating site. Steve come here.
Look at this. Yeah, Dad what is it? Well one day
that Max and I were running. He told me about the
women that he has been meeting on this. Dad your not
thinking what I am thinking. You can almost see the
wheels turning in Marks head. Steve is your Dad
saying that this online dating service can have
something to do with his murder? Yeah thats what I
am saying Steve is there any one at the station that
can dig into this thing and find out who he has been

Ok guys looking at the techs. You can take this but
please be careful with it Steve your Dad is
something else. I know, I know Smiling while saying
this. Cheryl escorts the techs out to the lab van.
Mark looks over at Steve and starts smiling. He has an
idea in his head. And Steve knows it. Dad, No Im not
going to do it Just as Steve says that Amanda and
Jesse walks in. Hi guys. What arent you going to do
Steve? Jess what are you doing here. I can
understand Amanda but you? Well hello to you to

still looking at Steve. NO Dad I said NO And just

Jesse, I think someone from the online computer
dating service killed Max. Oh man, No way Yes way.
And thats why he wants me to go undercover. I

these two. I dont know about them Hey Mark, Ill do
it. I can protect myself. No Jesse, Steve should be
the one to do this. But! Jesse, Mark said NO. And
when Mark says no he means it Jesse just turns and
goes looks at the beach from the windows in the living
room. Amanda? Well Mark its true. Yes it may be.
But you also know Jesse. Hes going to do anything he
wants to do. So we need to get him involved somehow

Sitting down at the computer Mark goes in to the
online dating service that Max had been using. Hoping
by now that he would have heard something from Steve
on which girls that Max had been talking to. Now how
do I do this? Hummmmm Ok I think, yeah there I go. Im
in. Smirking to himself DrLovingGood Steve walks up
to his father at that moment. DrLovingGood. Oh come
on Dad. And what are you doing in this site anyway?
Well you said you werent going to do it. Soooo
DAD!!!! What? Here, Here are the names that Max
was talking to. The lab tech said they are computer ID
names not real names. He is still doing some searching
to get the names behind the IDs. Passing the
documents to his father. Steve pulls them back. What
am I doing? I think you were about to hand me over
the names You did it again. Didnt you. I cant
believe you can do this to me What did I do?
Knowing full well what he just accomplished. You

profile on myself. The tech showed me how to do this.
OK first I go into the main page and Steve gets
everything taken care of and Mark is standing behind
him just smiling. He felt like he just ate the canary.

different profession. Lets see. How about a teacher. I
think I look like I could be a teacher. Putting his
hand on his chin. Ok so a teacher I am. Now for an ID

guess this teacher lives in Malibu OK, so now for
the personals. Steve and Mark are engrossed in
getting this all down right when Jesse comes in the

Sure you know my Dad he can get me to do anything. We
have it all set up and about to read
Oh man!!! Jesse blurts out. I cant believe that
one. Steve you are going to try to date some of
these? Not these just the ones that Max tried to
contact. Or the ones that contacted him. Good,
because I dont know about those first three. Mark
and Steve look back at Jesse and shake their heads.
What? Nothing. Ok Dad let me but in a couple of
those names and see what comes up As Steve types in a
name in the search engine at the dating site that Max
had on his computer. Bingo Steve looks at his
father.
Wheres Jesse? I dont know Mark looks around the
house. Well here goes. Steve replies to the ad that
came up from one of the names on the computer.

and you sound very interesting. I would love to get
together with you at sometime and see if we click.
Oh man Steve that's lame Well can you do any
better Jesse just appears out of no where. Yeah I

Jesse sits down gets him self all settled in at the
computer. What are you doing? Im getting ready to

Hey there, Whats up? Me nothing much. I was just
cruising these ads here. And I found yours. Wow you
sound fantastic. Why dont we hook up sometime. And we
can get to know each other <smiles>
Well Steve, I think he. Steve cuts his father off.
OK, Jesse here are the names. Go into I Know how to
look them up Well, Well Jesse, guess you have been a
busy young man And just want does that mean Mark
just smiles.
Steve and Mark leave Jesse to do his thing. Jesse is
hard at work just typing away. And with a big smile
also. Just as Mark and Steve were about to sit down in
the living room Amanda comes crashing in the front
door. Hey, Steve, Hi Mark She looks over at Marks
desk and sees Jesse deeply into what ever he is doing
on the computer. Pointing over to Jesse. Dont worry
Amanda. Hes just doing his thing. Ok if you say so.
Steve! I have some information. The autopsy on Max
came back its not quite finished but there's not much
yet to be know how he died.. She looks back at Jesse
again. Amanda? Oh sorry Steve, Yeah it said that
he. Jesse jumps up I got a hit. I cant believe it.
All ready. Man these girls are desperate Mark, Steve
and Amanda all run over to the desk and stand behind
Jesse and try to read what had come across the
computer. Amanda Steve pushes her a little to get
her out of the way. Steve Kids now, now Mark just
pushes by both of them and reads what Jesse has.
Jesse tell her that you have an ID on Chat City and
you would like to chat with her. Sure hold on
Hi, This is Jesse. Do you have Chat City? If you do I
am on there as Jess28male. We can talk about where we
would like to meet.
Jesse hits the send button and they are wait with
anticipation. Steve and Amanda are still pushing each
other just like small children. Mark just looks at
them and is remembering Steve and Carol doing the same
thing at times. Smiling he looks back at the computer.
Jess you dont think she got off already do. Just
then the IM message alert window rings. There she is.
Ok we are cooking. Jesse clicks on the OK button
where it is inviting him to a chat with this girl.
Typing:
TeachfromMalibu: Hey there. Nice to see you online.
Clasylady: Hi, Wow I cant believe that you contacted
me.
TeachfromMalibu: So when will we meet.
Clasylady: I have no problem in meeting you soon. What
do you think about that?
TeachfromMalibu: Great!!!
Now what? Jesse looks back at Steve. Just keep her
talking for awhile get her to trust you. Amanda didnt
you say you had something on Maxs autopsy? Yeah I
did. But Mark I couldnt find anything. Not a thing.
There is no bruising, except a very small one on the
back of his neck. No cuts, scrapes, Nothing. Amanda
there has to be something. Theres no signs of maybe
even natural causes? Well maybe to much insulin. As
Mark was looking over Jesses shoulder to see what
they have been talking about. He just realized what
Amanda just said. Amanda, What did you say again?
That there is nothing on him. No the last part
That there was to much insulin in his body Yeah
that Did you check to see if Max was a diabetic?
Yeah he was Thats weird Max never told me about
that. So do you think he took to much insulin Dad?
No I really dont think so. Something is just not
right here. Why do you say that for Cuz I got to
know Max pretty well and he would have told me if he
was on insulin. I mean he asked me about taking an
aspirin he hated drugs. He was a health nut. Steve
call your guys that collected the evidence and see if
they found any insulin in the house Sure Dad Steve
turns to use his phone. Amanda is looking over Jesses
shoulder. Jesse, you cant say that Why not Just

Woo boy, Shes not going to meet you. Steve over
hears Jesse tell this to Amanda.
Amanda thanks, I really like this girl. Jesse
Steve comes back over to the desk. Jesse remember we
think that one of these people that Max was talking to
Killed him. This girl could have done it. Steve I
really dont think so. She sounds to sweet to do
anything like that. Jesse you are just to naive
Im not naive. I really dont think she did this
The IM window buzzes again. There is a new IM to
except. Steve Steve looks back at Jesse. Steve was
telling his father that there was no sign of insulin
in the house. No needles nothing. Which one is this
Jesse? Mark looks on. Its the one called BEACHNUT.
BEACHNUT that's a weird name. Dad they are all
weird names. What are they saying Jesse? Amanda
Beachnut: Hi there cutie. How's things going?
TeachFromMalibu: Great and you
Beachnut: lets meet tonight
Jesse looks at Steve with a look of Well...... Go
ahead make the date Ok
TeachFromMalibu: Ok that sounds great. Where at
Beachnut: At your place of course.
Steve??? Tell her yes. But where do I live
Dad? Jesse tell her here at the beach house Sure
TeachFromMalibu: Sure Im here in Malibu. Right off
the highway.
Jesse gives her the address to the beach house. In the
mean time. Amanda is not to happy about the autopsy
report Mark Im going back to the hospital. Im going
to take another look at Max. Ill call if I find out
anything else Great Amanda. Please look close. I
know Max didnt take insulin. If he was a diabetic he
controlled it by diet. I know he had to. Thats just
the way he was. Ok Mark I will. Bye guys Jesse just
throws up his hand in a wave and Steve does the same

OK there you go Steve. Glad I could finally do
something Jesse, Why do you say things like that.
Hey I was just kidding Yeah sure
Back at the lab Amanda arrives and puts on her white
lab coat and gloves. She gets the body of Max back
out. Theres got to be something that I missed.
Looking over the body more closely. Mark said that he
is almost sure that Max didnt do insulin. And the
officers didnt find any signs of it in the house.
With the big magnifying glass that is over the table
she moves it closer to the body to inspect it more
closely. Looking over every inch of the body. Arms,
legs, feet, toes everywhere. Amanda is just about to
give up. Discussed. She steps back to look at the body
and try to think of a place that she hasnt looked at.
If I was Mark. Where would he look. Amanda thinks
this to her self. She knows she is good and one of the
best pathologist around but Mark has this uncanny way
of finding things. So lets think like him. Still
staring at the body. Thats it Stepping up to the
table. She brings the magnifying glass close to the
ear. She looks at it very close. There it is. Got
cha. I need to call Steve Grabbing the phone and
dialing the beach house. Steve answer the phone
Amanda wanting to tell them what is going on before
Steve meets up with this mystery lady, Tapping her
toes. Come on, Come on. Steve??? Hanging the phone
up hard. She decides to go on over to the beach house
to see if she can catch Steve before he meets with
her. As she is leaving Amanda sees Jesse down the hall
in the Hospital. Jesse! have you heard from Steve?
No, I just got here. Hey I have a date with that one
girl I was talking to the first one. That site is
really cool Jesse, Please dont do that until we
found out who killed Max. The girl you have this date
with could be the one that did it. No I really dont
think so. But theres no problem. We arent going to
go out for another week anyway. So Steve should find
the person by then. Well at least I hope so I do to
Hey Amanda did you find anything different on the
autopsy? Sure did As she tells Jesse the findings
of her second closer look of the body. Steve is
getting out of the shower. Steve comes into his room
with just a towel wrapped around his waist. Dad? What

Mark leaves and heads to the hospital. Amanda hasnt
had time to leave as Mark arrives and sees her getting
into her car. Amanda! Mark, Is Steve at the beach
house? Yes he is. Why? Did you find something? Mark
you are not going to believe this. I found air in his
brain. I dont know how I missed it the first time. I
didnt think it was enough to cause a problem. I am so
upset with myself. I am way over worked I need a
vacation. Sorry Mark. Anyway. I couldnt understand
how they got there. So I looked the body closer. I
mean we were all thinking since he had to much insulin
in his system that he died of that maybe. Amanda just
leans up against her car. Sad. Upset that she could
have messed up so much. Mark sees this and tries to
reassure her. Amanda, You really never finished the
autopsy. So dont kill yourself with not finding this.
So did you find anything when you looked closer?
Yeah I did, On the back of his neck. There was a
bruise. Its the only one he had. It didnt look to
bad the first time I saw it. But this time I had this
feeling that something was wrong. So I took the
magnifying glass and took a real close look at it.
And? Mark there were these small very micro scopic
needle marks. Here look at these. Amanda reaches
inside her car and brings out a vanilla envelope.
Reaching inside she pulls out some 8x10 pictures of
the wound she has been talking to Mark about. Mark
takes them and looks at them very closely. Amanda? Do
you know what this looks like? No And you said
there was air in his brain? Yes? Mark? Is Jesse
here? Yeah he is. I saw him by the lab awhile ago.
Why? I need to talk to him. Mark turns and heads
for the hospital. Then turns back to Amanda just
standing there in a daze. Amanda its not your fault
that you didnt catch this the first time. Turning
again then back Amanda try to get a hold of Steve and
tell him to be very careful. I need to find out if
this person he is meeting tonight was in the
military. Why? Because that wound is a shot that
the army gives to their enemy to kill them. Its a
high power shot. Shoots air right into the blood
stream. The person getting it doesnt have an idea
what just hit them. MARK!!! I know. But first we
need to find out if this person was in the military.

about it. It also had needle marks in it. Before he

Jesse realized where Mark was going. Man Mark, your
not saying that you think it was was one of those Air
shots they use to take out an enemy are you? It
makes since. Max sitting at his computer. Just talking
or should I say typing away. He may have or may not
have invited this person in. We are not sure about
that part. But this person did sneak up on the back of
him and shoot this air into his neck. Man and all
this time we were thinking he was having an insulin
attack. Yeah I know. I guess I didnt know Max that
well did I. He was a diabetic and didnt want to admit
it. Mark shakes his head. Well we are on the right
track now. But Jess? Amanda tries to get Jesse again
to remember what he talked about with this person.
Jess! Yeah, Oh sorry Amanda. This just blows me
away. I know Jesse, but can you remember if she
talked about being in the military at all or maybe an
ex or something. Amanda I didnt think about that.
She may have not been in but her husband, boyfriend or
someone close to her may have. Someone could have told
her how this is done. Jesse leans up against Amanda's
car as she was just minutes ago. With his hand up to
his chin. Like the Thinking Man. Jesse is trying to go
back to when he was chatting with her online. Wait.
Mark! This Chat line that we were on this morning
saves your chats. Jesse takes off for the hospital.
Hey wait Jesse Amanda runs after him to. Mark takes
off after both of them. Mark catches Jesse and Amanda
in the lab. Jesse sits down at the computer on
Amanda's desk. You are online here right? Yeah but
how can you get into Marks computer from here. Its
not that I am getting into Marks computer from here. I
will be getting into the chat line that we were in
from here. Ok Mark what was the password that you and
Steve made for this? Marjorie Mark smiles thinking
about his late wife. Great, and the ID we were using
was TeachfromMalibu Ok we should be getting in Right
now Jesse takes his arm up and then brings it down
saying Yes! Are we in? Yes we are Amanda. Now
lets see. Wheres the tools on this? ahhhh there it
is Jesse clicks on the tools program of this chat
line. Ok now there should be something that says
archives. Yes there it is. Ok lets see what we have.
As Jesse clicks it on. A long IM came up that he did
when he was talking to this girl. Scrolling down the
Instant Message and Mark and Amanda standing over him
reading each word there is. Wait there it is Mark
she was in the military. We need to get to Steve They
all three jump up and run to their cars.
Steve is looking in the mirror. Knowing that this
could be a killer but still excited to meet a lady the
way they did it. Never thought about meeting anyone
from the computer before.
Mark as he is in his car and driving tries to call
Steve. His cell phone is dead. Not now. and throws
it aside. Jesse is trying the same thing and so is
Amanda. But with both trying at the same time the line
is busy. No, Steve Amanda puts her foot on the gas a
little harder.
Steve is combing his hair back when the beautiful
young lady appears at his door. Wow, Now this could
be interesting. Hummmm Opening the door. He
introduces himself. Hi Im Steve and you must be
Shelly HI Steve is thinking to himself that her
voice sounds heavenly. Come on in. He shows her to
the living room. And she looks around and cant
believe what she is seeing. This is a pretty nice
place for a teacher isnt it? Yeah I guess it would
be. But my father left it to me. Nice, very nice
Steve shows her to the couch and has candles and wine
sitting on the table in front of it. You went all
out. thank you. She smiles at Steve. Steve melts. He
cant believe that this is the one that killed Max. He
feels like Jesse with that one. There could be no way.
But then the cop in him takes over and realizes that
this is a job and not fun. Pouring a glass of wine and
handing it to her. They start a conversation. In the
mean time. Jesse, Amanda and Mark race towards the
beach house. Hoping that they will not be to late.
Amanda tries Steve again on her cell phone.
Steve where is the lady's room? Oh just down that
hall right there Thank you Shelly gets up from next
to Steve and walks around the couch and Steve follows
her. Down Boy, this is a job. Dont forget it. Even
though Steve know this is all work and no play he
still cant help noticing how beautiful she is. Long
legs, long dark brown hair and those eyes. Sky blue.
Steve shakes his head. As Steve is thinking about her.
Shelly is in the bathroom. She reaches in her purse
and brings out a syringe. This syringe is big and
looks very powerful. As she is pulling back the
syringe to get air into the cylinder she is thinking
to herself. Im not going to let this happen to any
other women. You men all want the same thing. My
sister was just an innocent young girl. No this isnt
going to happen again. Shelly looks in the mirror and
smiles. She places the syringe in her sleeve that
almost covers her hand. She wore this on purpose
knowing that she could hide it there. She walks back
into the living room very quietly. Walks up behind
Steve. She brings the syringe out from her sleeve.
Just as she was bringing her hand up to shoot Steve in
the neck. He turns and sees her with this syringe in
the air. What? Steve jumps up from the couch and
leaps over it. He knocks the syringe out from her
hand. Steve has to try and get her under control just
as Jesse rushes the house. Steve, watch it Jesse
sees that Steve has everything under control and
realizes just then that the girl he is going to meet
from this online Chat is not the killer. Amanda and
Mark arrive and rush the house to. Just in time to
hear Jesse say Hey at least my girl isnt a killer
Mark and Amanda at the same time say Jesse Mark goes
over to Steve Are you ok Sure Dad. I told you I was
a big boy
Later that Night after booking Shelly for numerous
murders. Steve comes into the beach house and sees his
father sitting at the computer. Sneaking up to see
what his father is doing. Steve notices that his
father is online with that chat group.
