THE DEAD MILKMEN
Shapes Of Things

from Big Lizard In My Backyard

Tabbed by: Ben Gladdle (moose9377@hotmail.com)

This old Yardbirds tune is pleasant enough, but you have to wonder
why the Milkmen touched it. It's not loud, fast OR offensive. Quite
dull actually. However, its here, it's easy and it's bar chords.
Enjoy.

Verse:
-----
E D E
Shapes of things before my eyes
     D E
They teach me to despise
     D D (bass walk - Db B A)
Will time make man more wise?

verse:
Here beneath my lonely frame
My eyes just hurt my brain
But will it seem the same?

Chorus:
------
A G
(Come tomorrow), will I be older
A G
(Come tomorrow), maybe a soldier
A G G G B
(Come tomorrow), will I be bolder than today

verse:
Now the trees are almost green
But will they still be seen
When time and tide have been?

verse:
Boy into your passing hands
Please don't destroy these lands
Don't make them desert sands

chorus:
(Come tomorrow), will I be older
(Come tomorrow), maybe a soldier
(Come tomorrow), will I be bolder than today

Solo:
----

I don't think so. I'm sure no one cares anyway. Use verse chords,
E and D, but end it the same way you end the chorus... G G B.

verse:
Boy into your passing hands
Please don't destroy these lands
Don't make them desert sands

End with the bass walk down on the D and a final E chord.
Extra strumming, distortion and noise optional.
