THE DEAD MILKMEN
Not Crazy

from Not Richard, But Dick

Tabbed by: Ben Gladdle (moose9377@hotmail.com)

A bit of an indifferent song, and a bit of an indifferent tab.
I know I always say that, but agin, I think I've got most of it.
Certainly enough to play along fairly convincingly.

F#m Riff:
--------
This is referred to a few times in the verse. It's simply just a
quick exchange of Em-F#m-Em-F#m-Em... but I didn't really have room
to write that on the tab! So, here it is.

   F#m Em
E--2--2------0-2--0-2--0-----
B--2--2------0-2--0-2--0-----
G--2--2------0-2--0-2--0-----
D--4--4------2-4--2-4--2-----
A--4--4------2-4--2-4--2-----
E--2--2------0-2--0-2--0-----

Intro:
-----
A G(x10x12xx) F(x8x10xx)

Verse:
-----
A F#m riff
This is living, I've got
                              A
Everything I want at my fingertips
                                  F#m riff
Just have to clap and lights turn on
    D F
I've got several piles of records, I don't know
      Dm A F#m riff
Which one I'll put on next
     D F Dm
I've got a hundred subscriptions to magazines I'll never read
       A
I like mail
                          F#m
Staring at the toys on my wall
                      Bm F#m
Wondering what can be swallowed or take out an eyeball
            D A
Or what the people in China think about these things
          C#m
When they make them
        G
I'm not crazy
F#m D E
I'm merely entertaining the thought of going insane

verse:
The ball game must be over now
Maybe they'll show a movie from the 80s
And I'll imagine what it would be like to live back then
At the age I am now
I'm staring at the back of her head
Trying to make her turn around
Feeling the meat on my cat
Wondering what it would be like to cook her but I won't
Cause that would cause a terrible fuss among my friends
And I'm not crazy
I'm merely entertaining the thought of going insane

Outro:
-----
I play the outro pretty much the same as the intro. I think
there's a little bit more going on, but this is close enough.

If you have a bass player, play an A as normal, but play a
high C#m (xx11x14x) in place of the A on guitar. I dunno...
It seems to work for me. There's a bit of this high pitched
guitar throughout the song, but this is the only place it's
really necessary. And if you're playing on your own, without
the bass, just go for the A... the high bit doesn't work
on its own.

        A
I'm not crazy
        G F
I'm not crazy
        A
I'm not crazy
        G F
I'm not crazy
        A
I'm not crazy
        G F
I'm not crazy
        A
I'm not crazy
        G F
I'm not crazy
        A
I'm not crazy

End on the A. (or the C#m if you're playing the high bits as well)

That last bit is kinda confusing, so if you run into problems just
mail me and ask. Or if you've got corrections, which are always
welcome.
