THE DEAD MILKMEN
Little Man In My Head

from Metaphysical Graffiti

Tabbed by: Ben Gladdle (moose9377@hotmail.com)

This one's pretty easy once you've got the strumming pattern.
There's a rather large instrumental bit with weird noises and
no clearly audible lyrics that I haven't really tabbed and can't
honestly be bothered :) If you really want it, just ask, but
the song's fine without it, I think.

Intro/Verse:
-----------

There's two basic lines that are repeated throughout the intro and
the verses.

Dm Am C
Dm Gm C

verse:
There's a little man in my head
And he's drunk all of the time
He sits there on a bench, holdin' a monkey wrench
Sometimes he beats it against my mind

verse:
There's a little man in my head
And I don't think he likes it there
I do bad things but it's his fault, and he knows he can't get caught
That little man, he just don't play fair

Chorus:
------
Bb A G F
There's a little man in my head
       A Bb
And he must have lived in someone's head before
       Bb
'Cause I was born in '63
    F A Bb C
And he's only been there since '74

verse:
There's a little man in my head
And I don't think he understands me
We've got no common ground, on which to work around
He gets so bored when I watch TV

verse:
There's a little man in my head
And I don't think that he'll ever die
When he takes control, he really takes his toll
It's enough to make a grown man cry

Chorus 2: (This one's just a little different.
--------
Bb A G F
There's a little man in my head
    A Bb
And I wish he'd find another home
Bb A G F
There's a little man in my head
    A Bb C
And now I'll never be alone

verse:
Richard Spencer has got a little man in his head
Louis Farrakhan has got a little man in his head
Frank Rizzo has got a little man in his head
Squeaky Fromm has got a little man in her head
Jim Jones had a little man in his head
Richard Ramirez has got a little man in his head
Ted Bundy had a little man in his head
Dan Quayle's got a little man in his head
and I don't know...
How 'bout you?
Maybe you've got a man in your head too

Solo: Not done yet, so just play the verse riff...
----
[Almost indecipherable gibberish]
Stayed up real late
And watched the Charles Bronson film festival

chorus:
There's a little man in my head
And he must have lived in someone's head before
'Cause I was born in '63
And he's only been there since '74

End on a Dm.
