*               Booklists

Booklists are essential in an English classroom. Booklists provide educators with an easy opportunity to read overviews of books that they may wish to use in their classroom. These booklists can come in handy when educators must select alternative novels for students who are not allowed or able to read the class novel.

Image PreviewBelow are several booklists that have been compiled. They are in PDF format.

*    The first resource listed is titled “Bibliography of Honor List Books (1967-2003).” This resource was compiled by Dr. Margaret Sacco, professor of teacher education at Miami University of Ohio. This booklist includes all the publication information about the book, the age level that the book has been recommended, the sex of the protagonist, the genre of the text, and a brief summary of each book.

All of Dr. Sacco’s graduate students are required to compile booklists in order to receive graduate credit for her class. Listed below are several booklists that her students have compiled.

*    Annotated Bibliography: Homosexuality (by Stacey Hanks)

*    Girl Power! Books for Young Women (by Emily Gard, Kathy Priore, and Emily Straub)
