Disclaimer: Hmm, do I even need to write this? If I were Chris Carter, I would be a man. (Thank goodness I'm not) I enjoy being a woman. Furthermore, I wouldn't have to write fan fiction I could make good things happen every week. Which is something someone needs to start doing very soon, especially with all the talk about <gasp> Scully's new partner! Enough said.

Summary: The rise and fall of his chest was intoxicating, hypnotizing. She would be content to lie there for eternity, just watching him breathe. To have him back was, to say the least, a miracle, one she would never take for granted.

Notes:  Alrighty, Ive finally finished another installment to my Bring Me Sunshine series. I know its been a while for all of you who have been waiting for part three, but what can I say?? Ive been a busy girl! For all of you who havent read part one and two, this section is easy to follow on its own, but Id love for you to check out the first two that inspired this one. So, if youre interested, drop me a line and Ill hook you up. Thanks so much for reading! Oh! And this one has much more dialogue than the other two! Proud of me? ;)

The rise and fall of his chest was intoxicating, hypnotizing. She would be content to lie there for eternity, just watching him breathe. To have him back was, to say the least, a miracle, one she would never take for granted.

A barely audible sigh escaped her lips as she let her gaze trail up his chest and rest on his full, pouty lips. Which, in her opinion, begged to be kissed. However, sleep was a rarity for her husband, no amount of desire on her part could justify waking him during those few precious hours he received each night. Although she was certain he would never object to such an awakening, she knew what was best for her slumbering partner.

Her eyes continued up his face and rested on his distinguished nose. It was large, but not too large. It was perfect for him. It was Mulder. Somehow his nose had become every bit a part of his personality as his constant pursuit of the truth. However, when Dana Scully first walked into his basement office eight years ago, she was somewhat put off by the aforementioned. It just seemed so out of place on such an attractive man. But, after she began to know him, to see behind the legend of Spooky Mulder, she grew to love that nose. In fact, if asked today which feature she loved most about her husband, without a question it would be his nose.

Throwing her better judgment out the window and into the sunny late morning, Scully couldnt resist placing a small kiss on that large, but not too large, nose. She let the kiss linger longer than she probably should have, but to her credit she didnt apply too much pressure. She was still conscious of the fact he needed sleep.

Morning, Mrs. Mulder. Scully slowly pulled away and let a smile form her lips. His tone was oddly clear for one who had just woken from a deep sleep.

Mulder?

Yes? His eyes remained shut, but a smile slowly appeared.

How long have you been awake?

How long have you been staring at me? A deep shade of crimson spread across her cheeks and she was relieved that his eyes remained shut.

I asked you first.

Yes, but Im the one whose been violated.

Violated, Mulder? She mock huffed and rolled away turning her back to him. Scully knew he was playing but always enjoyed the way Mulder sucked up to her when he thought she was upset with him. Of course she realized he knew what she was doing, but he never verbalized that knowledge so the game always remained fresh and fun. Making up after a quarrel is always the best part anyway. She wondered, as she waited for him to start his sweet talk, what it would be like to make up from a serious argument. Sure, they have had many disagreements in the past, in fact, many is an understatement. But they had never experienced an honest to goodness fight since they became more involved, since they progressed from being just partners.

Awww, honey you know you can violate me anytime you want. He knew how she felt about sappy terms of endearment, but this was war. And, to shove the knife a little deeper he used the sugar sweet tone he knew she detested.

No matter how long she knew Mulder, she could never seem to beat him or anticipate his next move during this particular part of the game. He was well experienced in the teasing department. She, however, was an expert when it came to making up. But, then again, it wasnt hard to be good when dealing with a man like Mulder. Luckily her husband allowed her a lot of practice. It seemed that making up was his favorite part of their game too.

Scully remained silent. She knew it was the only way to speed up this particular part of the game. Soon her husband would get tired of talking and the best part would begin. Namely the kissing and cuddling and maybe, if she were lucky, some pillow talk. It was the simple things in life that she lived for.

Come on, Scully talk to me. Now he was whining.

I wouldnt want to be accused of violating your mind Her tone was light to show him she felt no animosity toward him. However, he already had her figured out.

I told you, Scully Go ahead, violate me! He smiled and spooned himself behind her tiny frame. His hand found hers and began a comforting caress on her palm. He inhaled her soft fragrance and nuzzled her neck. I love you.

Scully couldnt resist any longer. The fight had ended and it was time to make up. She turned to face him, ran her thumbs along his full lips, and down his chin. I love you.

Their lips found one another. The kiss was just as magical and romantic as their very first. In fact, the kiss seemed to be the definition of love itself. After several long moments Mulder pulled slightly away and ran a trail of kisses down her chin and successfully made his way to her bulging belly. He then placed a gentle kiss right above her navel and reverently whispered, I love you too.

Scullys heart filled with something she couldnt put a name to. Listening to Mulder speak to their unborn child was indeed a heart warming experience. He had never done that before. Tears were brought to her eyes.

Crying was not something Scully let just anybody see her do. And, although she loved and trusted Mulder with her very being, it was hard to let him see that weakness in her. However, hormones were always a convenient excuse, at least they had been for the past several months. Deep down she was certain that Mulder knew better, but he never said anything, and she loved him even more for it.

As Mulder rubbed small affectionate circles on her stomach, he sensed her tears and decided to try and lighten the mood.

Yes, I love you. Even if you ARE a girl.

Scully couldnt resist the laugh that rose in her throat. It was a horrible thing to say about their child, but it was a constant joke between them. Several weeks earlier, Scully made and appointment to find out what the babys sex was. Mulder tried hard to convince her to let it be a surprise, but being the control freak that she was, she wanted to know if she should begin to buy pink or blue baby sleepers and blankets. Mulder argued that she could always buy yellow, but she didnt like yellow. And, that was the end of the story.

She can hear you, you know.

Already?

Uh hmm. Of course she cant understand, but she can sense things, I think.

Mulder looked up at Scully, brushed a stray strand of hair from her eyes and let his gaze drop back to her bulge. He took several moments to just look at her swollen abdomen, gently rubbing his hands over its roundness. Once finished with his contemplation he laid his head gently on top of her belly and just gazed at his wife.

Thank you, Dana.

For what?

For this, he placed another kiss atop her navel. And for putting up with me.

Oh, Fox... She smiled knowing she was now in trouble.

That was low, Scully, he said with a smirk on his face. She knew he was up to no good.

Yeah, well what are you going to do about it?

A glimmer lit his eyes and he reached for the nearest pillow on the bed.

You wouldnt dare! She wasnt afraid of him.

Wouldnt I? He began to creep closer and closer raising the pillow as he went.

You, a Federal Agent, would hit a woman with child?

Uh huh. He burst out laughing as he gently swung the pillow against the side of her arm.

This means war, Mulder.

Bring it on.

The End. Should I continue or let it rest in peace?
