Fortress V - Ready Room

A large table and holographic monitors fill the ready room of the Fortress V, a place for Repliforces to get together and plan their next moves. The holographic projectors can fill the room with any needed image, the inducers buried in the center of the table, which is surrounded by large, comfortable chairs, a huge one at the far end big enough for General himself. There are windows here, pointed back and out the ship's rear windows, but these can be closed in order to have a clearer view of any needed holograms.

Rush Raccoon arrives from the Bridge.

Rush Raccoon has arrived.

Hi-Max arrives from the Bridge.

Hi-Max has arrived.

Chief R arrives from the Bridge.

Chief R has arrived.

The Ready Room normally just has Storm Owl at his desk, working on paperwork, patrol routes, and the other dull requirements of airship command. This usually leaves most of the room empty and unused. But at the moment, the Fortress V's ready room is awash with activity. A large crowd of almost a dozen Reploids, all wearing their insignias and badges, are starting to meander on into the Ready Room.

In the centre of the room is the holographic display table. Currently it is activated, and a three-dimensional image of Aztlan, including the surrounding areas north, south, and to the seas around it. Every mountain, hill, and city is marked. A thick wavy red line, denoting the Aztlan borders and army placements, runs around their country. Another thick line, this one blue, runs just outside of it, representing Repliforce. Both lines are mighty thin around the seas. Important locations, such as major bases and cities, are marked on the map.

Currently the various Repliforce strategy gumbies are chatting amongst themselves, as the meeting has not officially started yet.

Digital Ringhals arrives from the Bridge.

Digital Ringhals has arrived.

Rush Raccoon walks into the room. Why? This kind of Strategy intrigues him. And he's working on supply raid missions himself. He's here to learn more what he can. He walks amongst the gumbies as the Major walks more into the room. Indeed in his nice formal uniform he wears around during "Shift" based duties. He wears a stern look however, but looks well rested at least. The IAD Has more members and he's been able to shift around the work finally so he's not taking on three shift days one after another....

Not like this has stopped him FROM pulling a three shift day over and over. The fact is, Rush is curious as to just how long he can operate. He has a Datapad with him, however.. it is not //The// Datapad (Of Doom).

Hi-Max is one of those Reploids that meanders into the room, unlike many of the Reploids here he's not a strategist, he's simply a soldier that wishes to learn and enrich his mind. This strategy session will hopefully prove to be quite enlightening for him. On a side note Hi-Max salutes the superior officers within the room out of courtesy.

Digital Ringhals strolls into the room looking around nervously, tail waving and hood fully spread. She'd been jumpy lately, even aboard the Fortress V, due to certain radio messages. She looks around for a few seconds, a bit confused. She was called here and isn't exactly sure why.

There is one surprise guest tonight aboard the Fortress V. The yellow-ish overcoat is unmistakable, the parrot unforgettable, the Co-Director of Interpol "Chief" R. Former Repliforce officer, at that. Being he holds no actual rank, he's been saluting most everybody he's gone by along the way, a more traditional datapad in hand than the usual beam clipboard.

He knows well he's not here on a tour, and his facial expression reflects this as he strolls into the Ready Room of the mighty Fortress V.

Storm Owl is currently standing at the head of the holographic display table, chatting with another Repliforce strategist while gesturing calmly to the map. The phrases 'logistical supply routes diverted by 2 days', 'response time improved by 4% in sector 12', and 'MASH unit #34 retreated thirteen kilometres back' demonstrate just how dull the conversation must be. Nevertheless, both seem very interested in the discussion.

Finally, Storm Owl looks away, letting his gaze fall on those that have arrived. He nods to Rush, glad to see him here in order to get him interested in such long-term strategy planning. Hi-Max has always had Storm Owl's admiration in combat, and the owl's always been curious as to whether it's translated into battlefield strategy or not. Digital gets a cursory glance. This should hopefully be easier than Bait Plan #77 on her. Finally, Storm Owl nods to R. As folks get settled in the chairs around the long holographic display table, Storm Owl comments aloud, "Welcome back, Chief R." Several gumbies nod in R's direction in greeting.

Rush Raccoon settles into one of the chairs as the meeting is about to start. He salutes Owl back as they make eye contact and nods to Chief R, nods to High Max and nods to Digital and well..anyone else. He keeps his eyes on the Holographic Display now. Truthfully.. he doesn't find this boring. at least.. not anymore. an older Rush would have been too concenred about sending possible friends to death.. and.. blah, blah.. other such nonsense.. merely the musings of a suggestive Protocol in his mind that was astray. Indeed, Rush is having to relearn a few things..or be taught new things that weren't possible before, and theres no better place to start than Commander Owl in the Military department of things. Perhaps he may brush up on his social skills more with another Repliforcer, but for now, this is the important stuff and it has his full attention for now.

American Eagle arrives from the Bridge.

American Eagle has arrived.

Hi-Max is surprised as Chief R steps into the room, he salutes the man as well showing him a bit of Repliforce respect and politeness. Once he finishes with the salutes he takes a few steps to an available chair, placing a hand on the chair's backrest he pulls it out from underneath the table before sitting down on it.

"Thank you, Commander." It's just like the Chief to use formal titles even as they don't truly apply to him, but it's nostalgia talking. (The parrot, being only a little over a year old, has not outgrown its antipathy towards all.) He nods back at all the nodders thus far, proving how infectious the act of a bobbing head can be. He does seem a bit uneasy being in the same room as Hi-Max, the warm welcome aside, being one of the Gate children... somehow, based on Shell Shieldfish's commentary, he doesn't feel they've 'forgiven' him yet. The courtesy is appreciated, so he returns that same salute before he takes a seat at one of the available chairs closer to the front.

Currently the ready room is awash with activity. Repliforce strategists, whether gumby in nature or not, are just sitting down around the long holographic table in the centre of the ready room. The holographics is showing a map of Aztlan and the surrounding areas, including the current borders and known military emplacements. A big wavy blue line shows the Repliforce front line, and a big wavy red line shows the Neo-Arcadian front line, such as we know it. Eagle will have been called to this meeting specifically, and it seems like it's just about to get underway.

Digital Ringhals settles into a chair, seemingly trying to avoid making to much eye contact with people. Drawing attention to herself is the last thing she wants after what happened last time. She bows her head slightly, and her hood flattens. This seems like something totally different from what she's used to.

American Eagle has to wonder why he'd be summoned to a meeting like this. After all, well, he's just a lowly Private still, after all this time. And he hasn't been a very active lowly Private, either. Still, upon entering, he snaps a salute to Storm Owl, and then goes into the position of attention.

Storm Owl stands up despite having just sat down, so he can better address everyone. The room is now quiet. "Thank you all for coming here. First, I welcome those that do not normally attend these. Corporal Ringhals is here to give her expertise on our cyberspace capabilities and tactical choices." Many nods in her direction. "Private American is here as I wish to begin preparing him for the task of coordination between Repliforce and United States armed forces." Many nods in his direction. "And Chief R is here with us to give Interpol's perspective, and to offer information on how the international police will be able to help us in our upcoming campaigns." Many nods in his direction, even though they just did that a few seconds ago. "Major Raccoon and Lieutenant Hi-Max are here, I believe, to learn more about our strategic protocol." Each of those addressed are given time to give any introductions.

"Now, as introductions are over, I wish to address what I believe is an opportunity. Neo-Arcadia has been content to remain in its own borders while making occasional sorties outside for raids and other terrorist activities. I am not satisfied with simply letting them continue in this fashion, and thus we should begin working to create a proposal to fully invade Aztlan." Storm pauses for questions and the like.

Rush Raccoon simply...nods to everyone. Storm Owl's assumption is right. The Major is indeed here to learn some tactical strategy. and besides, his IAD Shifts are over and he wasn't too much for sitting down and resting juuuuuuust yet, after this he may however! He keeps his hat perfectly neat throughout all the nodding, it's most likely Maglocked.

A glance is casted over to Hi-Max. Just to make sure he most certainly does not go Maverick in the middle of this meeting!

Hi-Max has no urges to go Maverick thanks to Berkana and Prismatic Spider who had a hand in his creation. He's happy to sit in his chair with perfect posture while his hands lay dormant on the table in front of him.

R doesn't feel any particular need to re-introduce himself again; most everybody knows who he is these days, even if he hasn't been very public lately. He's awaiting tonight's matters of business, since Interpol plays a part in what's to come, from all that's happened in recent times.

Digital Ringhals calms herself a little bit, tail reducing movement to just twitching, as Storm actually explained why he wanted her here. Well, that made sense at least. Nothing really dangerous to worry about in that. Computers and cyberspace are her specialty.

American Eagle doesn't move much as all the introductions are made, except to sit down at the table. Of course, he gets to try and gather whatever US military forces have been formed so far, to help organize them. Which is actually what he's probably been doing for the past few weeks while he was inactive. Yeah..

Red arrives from the Bridge.

Red has arrived.

Storm Owl looks around the room. No questions. Ah well. Finally, he gestures to the holographic map, "Currently our main forces are stationed north and south of Aztlan. Our aquatic forces, at present, are deplorable. I have instructed Captain Stingray to begin correcting this flaw. However, we know that there have been rumours of a naval facility on their coastline, however as of yet intel is still working on this." Storm Owl gestures to the south of Aztlan. "Our forces here are still working to rebuild and reforrtify from the /last/ war we had with Aztlan. As you know, Neo-Arcadia pushed our front line back to the panama canal, and only through negotiations did we get the territory back. The destruction was considerable."

Storm Owl gestures to the north, "This is our strongest point. We have the strength of the United States and of Texas, should they honour their alliance with the United States, aiding us. It is here we have our best chance to push their lines back. Beginning a campaign from here will result in destruction, loss of life and infrastructure on both sides. This means war refugees, destroyed cities, and people in great need of medicine, food, and other supplies."

Storm Owl looks to Eagle and R in turn. "Private Eagle, give us an overview of how the American people should react to situations like this, what we can do to limit the damage, and ensure that the American people are spared the most death and destruction. As well as our ability to coordinate these efforts with the United States Forces." Then to R: "Chief R, what aid can we expect from Interpol in these matters? Creating a war zone results in lawlessness, as we all know. What are Interpol's protocols in such matters?"

Storm sits down, letting those two take the floor.

Rush Raccoon merely looks up at Chief R and American Eagle as Storm Owl speaks and questions these two on matters. While he waits for either to say thier respective piece, he eyes the map occassionally with a "Hrm"... He can't add more than this at the moment.

The Eagle takes a few moments to think about this, before he stands, "Well, sir." He says, "To begin, the proud American people have seen their share of many wars. From the bloody Revolution, to the Civil War, through all three World Wars, as well as the War on Terror, and now the Robot Wars, America has always stood strong in the face of any and all oposition, and I do not belive that this case will be any different. According to reports I've read, the effort to rebuild the US Armed Forces is going well, with an Army that is already over three hundred thousand strong."

He pauses for a moment, mentally checking the numbers, "Although smaller numbers have joined the Air Force and Navy, I'm happy to report that the Marines have had the highest recruiting numbers this month. As for how the people would react, well, to be honest, sir, the people would react the way that the media and the government tells them to react. As long as we had GNN showing the war from our point of view, I have no doubt that the American people would gladly support the war effort."

Hi-Max quietly listens to those that are talking, unless he's addressed to or that he feels he has something to add he will not interrupt those that are speaking.

The door quietly opens, and a looming figure steps through. It is Red. He quietly stands at the back, trying to avoid attention. He is late, of course. There were reasons. He gives Hi-Max a quick wave.

Digital Ringhals tries to relax in her seat and pay polite attention to the others speaking. It's not like she has anything to contribute to that stuff anyways.

When it's R's turn to take the floor, he does so without a moment's delay, rising and moving to the map. The light given off by this holographic display reflects eerily off of the parrot. It doesn't like how this calls attention to it, not at all. Let's move beyond that for the moment.

"As you recall on the siege upon Skull Monument in Neo Tokyo, upon the knowledge that a siege would be taking place, we immediately evacuated the citizens we could. Admittedly, this was for a single siege as opposed to an extended campaign, like you are outlining here Commander."

He looks to those present in turn. So does the parrot, but let's not pay too much attention to that. "Interpol's role will be not only to help evacuate people from potential war zones, but also for us to deal with any other potential problems that may arise... rioting, looting, and so forth. Last time around with Japan, our budget was still tight in regards of stabilizing Interpol after the loss of Shambala. Should war break out through Texas and North America, we should be able to help stabilize damaged civilian areas beyond the usual lawkeeping and communication we have with the various law agencies of contracted nations while Repliforce focuses on the war efforts."

Storm Owl listens intently to what Eagle says, and is definitely pleased with what he hears. Whether or not Eagle is accurate or is looking at his country with a biased view is tough to tell. Storm Owl knows that populations tend to react in unpredictable ways in times of great crisis. But at least here they have a very visible and very deadly enemy to rally around. He also appreciates the candor in that the people'll react however the media tells 'em to react. Not for the first time, Storm Owl wishes Repliforce (or, more accurately, he) controlled the media. Ah well.

At Red's arrival, Storm Owl briefly interupts, "Thank you for joining us, Lieutenant Colonel," he says, thus forcing everyone to direct their attention on the latecomer. There's a free seat around the holographic table.

Questioning both R and Eagle here, he asks, "What sort of cooperation and response time can we expect between Repliforce, Interpol, and the United States? Having three large organizations working together can often result in problems." He then says to everyone in the room, "Any suggestions?"

Red winces. Once again, Storm Owl makes everyone note his late arrival, and uses that title Red hates so much. Damnit Storm. He did that on purpose, Red thinks. He quickly slides into the seat, and looks a bit sour.

Hi-Max gives a quick nod to his brother as he enters the room.

Rush Raccoon sees Red is late! He notes this is typical of his profile that the IAD most certainly does not have!

Digital Ringhals opens her mouth a bit in a grin at the familiar face of Red. She's a bit amused at the fact that Red's getting all the attention. She's very glad she isn't the focus at the moment.

"Well, sir, naturally, the United States military is more than willing to do anything that the Repliforce requires of it. After all, Repliforce is, technically, in charge of the defense of the United States. Our armed services are a backup for the 'Force," American Eagle says.

"I don't suspect response times will be a problem between Interpol and the Repliforce. Interpol has expressed interest concerning happenings in the region due to the reemergence of Umbrella, among other factors. Whether or not the United States is willing to become involved on behalf of this from our point of view, in respect of Private Eagle's statement, we aren't certain of, Commander." R tells it straight and without any noteworthy gestures or funny faces... unless you count the parrot, which barely even moves and its face certainly isn't funny.

Storm Owl nods to R and Eagle, careful to avoid the gaze of the parrot on the former's shoulder. He's glad to hear that the US knows that Repliforce is in charge. Owl likes being in charge. "Very well. I shall count on you two-" glance in Eagle and R's direction, "-to work together and ensure that Repliforce, American, and Interpol bureaucracy are integrated seamlessly. If there is a disaster, natural or otherwise, we cannot afford three different groups working on three different plans with three different agendas." Storm can't order R to do jack, of course, but he's not very good at phrasing things in a non-ordering manner.

The war bird waits for any other suggestions (of which there are none :-() before turning to Digital. "Corporal Ringhals, should we initiate a campaign agaisnt Neo-Arcadia, we can expect cyber attacks against us and the United States. What is our situation involving our defense, the United States', our ability to work with our allies such as the States and Interpol, and our ability to launch attacks against Neo-Arcadia? A full overview of the strategic situation in cyberspace will suffice." As if it is nothing.

Rush Raccoon Seems to politely put his head down for a moment as he's most likely speaking on his +2way for a moment. ten to one if he's taking a message like this in the middle of such a meeting it's important. He can be seen rubbing the side of his head a moment in thought. One can only imagine this conversation. of course, those with interception will actually get nothing, since it's an NPC He's having a +2way with! Making it look like's busy, yes. He is still paying attention, however. Gotta love the benefits of sensors and being able to track a few things at once.

Digital Ringhals's mouth snaps shut rapidly as she is called upon to speak. She spreads her hood out rapidly from nervousness as she stands up. Her voice is a bit unsteady, and she is trying to keep the hissing to a minimum as she speaks. "Asss it isss, I have full confidencsse in our defenssse sssyssstemss againssst virtual attacksss. Asss for the United Ssstatesss defensssesss," she pause a second. "I'm not quite ssssure. We intend to cooperate fully with our alliesss to deal with any problemsss. I'm quite confident that we will be able to attack asss needed, though that isss not quite my ssspecialty."

Storm Owl doesn't mind the bizarro speak. If he got annoyed at everyone that spoke strangly, he'd be a very annoyed individual. "Do we have any protocols already in place involving our cyberspace work with our allies?" he asks. "Corporal, I'm assigning you to the same group as Private Eagle and Chief R. I want our efforts in both cyberspace and real space to work flawlessly. When there is a crisis, we should all be working on the same plan, and we should know exactly who is in charge of what during what time." He looks to R, Eagle, and Digital, to make sure they're all understanding this.

Red turns to Hi-Max and sends off a brief radio message.

Hi-Max raises a brow as Red sends him a message.

American Eagle salutes again to Storm Owl, "It will be done, sir."

R nods his head (how many nods has it been this time around?) again as Storm Owl speaks. No, Owl's not in a position to command him to do as he tells him to, but R does recognize this facet of his personality. If this campaign is to be carried out, undoubtedly there needs to be some sort of overall cooperation here. General tends to give him kid loves. Storm Owl does not.

"We'll do our best to stay on top of everything. As I've heard, the continent of North America is uneasy in general. Many factional headquarters have been relocated to this general area of the globe. We have noted an increased number of sales in personal weapons and, unfortunately, a small increase in crime related to them. If nothing else, we'll do our best to stop chaos from spreading at a civilian level.

Digital Ringhals salutes Storm Owl, replying with "Not that I've ssseen, no. Yes, sir, I will do my besssst."

Storm Owl acknowledges Eagle's salute by inclining his head slightly. Good soldier, that Eagle. The news of guns purchasing rising is not welcome news, but there's little Owl can do about it other than hope that the cops are on top of it. In a perfect world, Repliforce would have the only guns. To Digit, Storm says, "Good. Also, if it is feasible, I want you to have a look at the Neo-Arcadian servers. Gauge their defenses. I need to know what we're capable of. If we're able to simply hold a stalemate, initiate offensives, or if we should expect to lose ground in cyberspace."

He turns briefly to Red, "We are discussing a campaign to invade Neo-Arcadia, Lieutenant Colonel." The recap once again focuses on Red being late. "I'd like to know what Red Alert's abilities would be involving getting behind Neo-Arcadian lines and harassing their supply routes and troop movements."

"Everyone is to report back when we next convene. Is there anything else?"

Rush Raccoon looks up and frowns a bit, he nods to the commander, a knowing nod that says 'crap has hit the fan' and he immediatly. He heard abnout meeting back, so nows a good time as ever for say.. Private PRecious Parakeet to suddenly show signs of viral behavior and threten half the Medical staff with medical instruments. He needs to see to this and make sure the area is sealed off and... it seems everyones getting dual scans this upcoming week! Isn't that lovely?

Hi-Max having nothing to add shakes his head, "No sir."

Red smiles. Gee, thanks Storm. "Well, most of our attacks are launched air assaults that they see coming from a mile away. I... went ahead and built us a hovercraft. It's pretty sweet." That sounded awkward. Everyone is starting at him. Damnit Storm! "Although the Neo Arcadian Air and Ground systems are highly advanced, I'm wondering just how much defense they have against attack by sea. If we infiltrate their borders using the hovercraft... Red Alert can make a fairly big mess inside. It's what we do." He pauses. Crickets chirp. Chirp Chirp.

You overhear Red mutter to Red: 'Damnit Storm.'.

Digital Ringhals shakes her head a little, "I will find that out for you, sssir. Nothing elssse."

Storm Owl leans back in his chair. "A hovercraft," he repeats. Finally he adds, "Very well." Does he disapprove or is he just being an asshole to Red? "Early information indicates that their sea capabilities are minimal. Unfortunately, so are ours. As I mentioned earlier in the meeting-" mwah "-I have assigned Captain Stingray to correct this flaw. In the meantime, we shall definitely be requiring Red Alert's skills in the near future." Storm takes another look around, and then says, "As that appears to be it, you are all dismissed. We shall reconvene again with all the information we require and design our campaign."

Red sits at his seat a few moments more, mumbling and consoling himself. "Well... that's why I build the hovercraft... no one expects the hovercraft... razzin frazzin Storm Owl... infiltrate fortress... outer heaven... blow up... feh." Red stands, nods to R and the Repliforcers, and leaves.

Damn Storm Owl.

"Very well." R salutes Storm Owl, as per tradition. The parrot's optics stare as hard as they can into Storm OWl's own, its antipathy well over one million... billion, even! This is typical, rather than traditional. He is a bit uneasy as being seen as simply a military division in the scheme of things, but being told ahead of time of war activity where Interpol can make a difference civilian-side... that's a good thing. A very good thing.

They didn't need a repeat of Japan.

With that, R turns to leave, and leaves the unused datapad at the doorway. Looks like he was just borrowing it under the pretense that it was better to have than his love for that archaic clipboard.

Hi-Max stands up from his seat now that the first part of the meeting is over with, he salutes those that are present before making his way towards the door.

Storm Owl stands up to leave as well, but then suddenly adds, "Lieutenant Hi-Max, if you could assist Lieutenant Colonel Red with his work, I would appreciate it." He says this as if it was an afterthought. No reason they shouldn't get along, right? Hi-Max was the temp Commander of Red Alert, after all. Seems like a logical conclusion that Hi-Max could integrate himself further into their group.

Hi-Max is the good twin, Red is the evil twin that has since redeemed himself for the time being. The super soldier pauses in his tracks as Storm Owl addresses him, "As you command sir."

Storm Owl lets Hi-Max go after that. After gathering his things, he is the last to leave the ready room, striding back onto the bridge to plot further acts of evil.

Strategy Session Notes             Tue Sep 20    Storm Owl

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

        *** TEXT ONLY ***

A late-night strategy session was held in the ready room. Lt. Col. Red, Cpl. Ringhals, Pvt. American, Lt. Hi-Max, Maj. Raccoon, Chief R from Interpol, <the list continues, but it's only a few gumbies now> and myself attended. We are beginning work on a major offensive campaign against Neo-Arcadia.

        From our findings:

        - Any major campaign will likely have to be launched from the north, due to this having the greatest concentration of our own troops and allies.

        - Pvt. American, Chief R, and Cpl. Ringhals are to begin constructing protocols and formulating the bureaucracy involved to ensure that in times of crisis, the American, Interpol, and Repliforce authorities will be operating seamlessly. We do not want three different plans by three different organizations interfering with each other should a catastrophe occur.

        - Capt. Hi-Max and Lt. Col. Red will be working to get Red Alert ready for upcoming assaults, and to let us know where they would be most effective.

        - Capt. Jet Stingray is to continue his efforts to ensure that our navy is superior to Aztlan's navy.

        - Cpl. Ringhals shall be gauging our cyberspace capabilities, Neo-Arcadia's cyberspace capabilities, and reporting on whether or not we have an opportunity to press the battle there, or if we should be content with a stalemate in cyberspace.

Commander Storm Owl, Commanding Fortress V, Kansas City - Downtown
