desk. Thus, the whining coming from him should be at a minimum. "With Dr.
Albert W. Wily having been ousted as leader of the Robot Masters, Presidents,
ambassadors, and other world leaders are calling on him to stand trial for his
vast number of crimes. Diplomacy Squirrel, Indonesian Ambassador to the United
Nations, has been particularly vocal."
We cut to a
shot of a smallish, grim-faced Reploid. "I can't see why Repliforce hasn't
done their job and taken Wily. Their original mandate was to defeat Dr. Wily,
and as far as I know that goal hasn't changed. Just because Wily is now in the
hands of the Hunters doesn't mean he's off the hook for the horrible things
he's done to this planet."
Back to
Chest. "President Howard Vaughn of Texas noted in a speech earlier today
that 'Repliforce needs to stand by their convictions'." Cut to a shot of
President Vaughn. "I understand how it is for Repliforce - they see that
their friends, the Maverick Hunters, have Wily, and that's good enough for
them. But it isn't good enough for the rest of the world. It's often been said
that Repliforce is just a weaker, yet bigger version of the Hunters. That, when
push comes to shove, General and the rest of Repliforce is willing to bend
backwards on behalf of their Hunter allies does not help their case."
Vaughn shakes his head. "I thought the idea was that Repliforce was the
ones looking out for international law and justice. Things like this is why
Texas has chosen not to sign the Repliforce contracts."

Chest. "Dr. Light of the Hunters had no comment on the issue, and we are
looking forward to hear from the Repliforce about this issue. Diplomacy
Squirrel of Indonesia has said that he will continue to put pressure on
Repliforce to secure Dr. Wily."
Another shot
of Diplomacy. He looks kind of sad. "I respect the Hunters and all that
they've done for the planet, but we need to remember that these are vigilantes
who ignore the law when it suits them. Repliforce is meant to be the paragon of
law and order... of respecting the rights of a just governing body. But the way
they seem to be rolling over for the Hunters is a disgrace." Diplomacy
smirks, and then says sarcastically, "If we wanted to make a contract with
a group that does what they want, we'd just work straight with the Hunters and
save a level of bureaucracy."
Chest once
more. "GNN will follow this story as it develops."

[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: General says, "You

[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to General: You say,
"Thank you sir. This is in regards to Dr. Wily. What is Repliforce's
policy on him currently?"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: General says, "Doctor
Wily is a creator of robots that have committed heinous crimes, is wanted
around the world for numerous criminal actions, and is the very reason that
Repliforce exists in the first place. Repliforce has the policy that if Wily is
ever capable of being captured we will do just that."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to General: You say,
"Does this mean you will be attempting to retrieve Dr. Wily from the
Maverick Hunters so he can stand trial?"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: General says, "An
assault against the current fortification that the Hunters are using would
require a massive amount of Repliforce resources to be diverted away from an
extremely important conflict that could cause most of the civilization of
Central America to fall into the hands of Elpizo."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to General: Chest smiles,
though you can't hear it. "Is that a yes or a no, sir?"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: General says, "That is
a potential both. It depends heavily on the situation within Central America,
and how the Hunters themselves are handling Wily. I have already begun to make
preparations to investigate as to how they are holding Wily, and to try and
further increase the level of security so that he can not escape. That all,
however, will depend on Light, and is my attempt at going with a peaceful
approach to this issue."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to General: You say,
"What happens if Dr. Light refuses to negotiate for the release of Dr.
Wily, as it would seem likely is going to happen?"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: General says, "I will
then have to look at everything impartially and try to figure out what would be
best for the world."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to General: You say, "Is
there a chance that you will decide that leaving Wily in Hunter hands would be
best for the world?"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: General says, "There is
a chance for many things."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to General: You say, "I
see, sir. Barring military action against the Hunters, will we see any other
forms of persuasion? Reduced cooperation with their assignments, refusals to
trade intelligence with them... I guess what I'm asking, sir, is whether or not
there's anything that can put to rest the fears that some have over their
perception that Repliforce is bending over backwards for the Hunters, and thus
compromising their own ideals."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: General says, "The
Hunters and Repliforce are in an alliance. If the Hunters prove to act
unwilling to even listen to any manner of reason, or to attempt to try and work
together on this, then the alliance is mostly not even existent but merely something
out there for people to look at and think is pretty. All in all Repliforce is
attempting to keep with their contracts, and their word, and thus we must try a
friendly approach before an aggressive approach. However, if the Hunters don't
want to be in an alliance anymore, which would a shame, then Repliforce will
probably have to act upon the fact that they have a military base in the United
States."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to General: You say, "Do
you have anything you'd like to say to Ambassador Squirrel and other
critics?"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: General says, "We are
in a war, and in a war we must remember that allies are far more important than
enemies. If we treat our allies worse than our enemies then how can we be
trusted?"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to General: You say,
"When you say 'allies', do you mean the Hunters, or the millions of people
in hundreds of countries that are depending on you?"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: General says, "Both. We
/are/ in an alliance with the Hunters, after all, and they /have/ done a
massive amount of good for the world."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to General: You say,
