[Radio: (B) Secure] Storm Owl transmits, "All hands,
this is the Captain. We are departing the Mirror Desert and setting course for
the African Rainforest. We will begin our trek in approximately five
minutes."
On the Monitor, African Rainforest
On the Monitor, Sphere Outpost <Eta> [RM]
On the Monitor,
North <N> leads to Congo.
East <E> leads to Skullamanjaro (Mount Kilamanjaro).
South <S> leads to Savannah.
Northwest <NW> leads to Ivory Coast.
Northeast <NE> leads to Lake Constance (Lake
Victoria).
Up <U> leads to Sky Above Central Africa.
On the Monitor, Charge Man arrives from the Ivory Coast.
On the Monitor, Charge Man has arrived.
On the Monitor, Fortress V departed from her landing site
approximately one hour ago. As she was not built for stealth, the massive craft
simply set course for her destination and planned to steamroll over anyone who
got in her way. On the bridge of the battleship, Storm Owl sits in his command
chair, actively receiving reports from other sections of the ship while keeping
a close watch on the sensors. The strategist does not expect that the Robot
Masters have anything capable of wounding her, given the rag-tag nature of the
fighting here recently, but it's also unlikely that the Fortress V would be
able to hunt down a well-trained stealthy Robot Master lurking in the woods.
It's another stalemate, but one which Repliforce can be happier about.
Regardless, the battleship is currently cruising towards the northwest edge of
the African Rainforest, ready to turn about should Shining report an attack.
On the Monitor,
Argh, the rainforest. Charge Man doesn't like the rainforest, or any
other forests for that matter because of how tangled and maze-like they are.
Nonetheless, he plows on further through the undergrowth, his feet stomping not
too quietly on the humid ground. At last, he reaches a clearing in the forest,
where another battle had taken place a while ago by the looks of the charred
trees and torn-up ground. Wiping his brow of non-existant sweat, Charge looks up
at the welcoming sight of the sky. His gleaming red and orange armor can easily
be seen among the lush greens of the foilage. When he does look up, he notices
something - something very, very huge. But he can't make out what exactly it is
as the sun's in his eyes.
On the Monitor, Fortress V continues on her trek under the
stars as if uncaring about those that might be below her. While Charge Man is
down on the ground pushing his way through the thick foliage in the sweltering
heat, the bridge crew of the battleship are quite comfortable. A light blinks
on one of the control panels with a quiet little 'eep, eep' klaxon, and Storm
Owl taps in a few commands onto his armrest's computer console, bringing up the
information. It would appear that the sensors have detected a certain someone
pushing his way through the forest, currently standing in a clearing. "Do
we have any patrols on the surface in this area?" Storm Owl asks another
crewman. When a negative response is given, the Major nods. Continue on
course." Storm Owl says. They cannot, afterall, turn and chase after every
unidentified robot they see. The ship is about one hundred feet above the tip
of the tallest trees. Given that her size is over a mile long, it's very
visible.
On the Monitor,
The orange robot shades his eyes using a gloved hand and squints, for a
try to look at it better again. He notes the overall shape.. oh, yeah, and the
GIGANTIC REPLIFORCE INSIGNA plastered all over it. The robot master blinks and
puts the pieces together. He glances up once more to confirm this. Yep, it is
most definately the Fortress V. With that in mind, Charge Man wonders what else
is up with the area, and he grins to himself. Making a little wringing motion
with his hands, the train goes into his locomotive position. Out spews smoke as
he races through the rainforest, knocking down trees and whatever else is in
his way while he's at it until he reaches the next small clearing.
On the Monitor, Fortress V's sensors track the robot as it
plows through trees, belching out smoke as it goes. Storm Owl idly keeps part
of his attention on the mech, just in case it's going to cause trouble. It
doesn't take a genius to put the smoke, the ability to run over huge trees, and
the orange colouring to come up with the conclusion that it's Charge Man down
there. No matter, the Robot Master is not a threat by himself. Now no doubt
he's going to be able to warn his fellow Masters of the new arrival in the
Rainforest, but this sort of thing wasn't going to be kept a secret forever
anyway. If Charge continues to hang around, however, Storm Owl may be forced to
let the gunners take a few potshots at him to discourage any other Masters from
drawing too near.
On the Monitor,
The Master halts and takes another look. Pushing himself forward again,
this time Charge Man speeds up tremendously and barrels through the rainforest.
He can easily be tracked thanks to the trees falling down and crashing as he
passes by in a straight line from above, which would probably look pretty
funny. Complete disregard for the environment is pretty hilarious, am I rite?
Everything around him looks like a blur now to him as he finally reaches the
edge of the rainforest.
On the Monitor, Fortress V does not speed up in order to
catch the Robot Master, and so Charge Man'll be able to get to the edge of the
forest without any danger (unless a tree falls on him). Storm Owl finally peers
at the navigation display and orders a full stop. The Fortress V, having
reached her destination at the northwest section of the rainforest, lumbers to
a halt. She now hovers like a vulture waiting for whatever is below to die.
From the warship's docking bay, Repliforce aerial gumbies are dispatched to
begin patrolling the area - in particular any activity back near the Mirror
Desert.
On the Monitor,
The Epsilon brushes some chunks of wood and mud off from his slightly
dinged-up armor and just stands there at the edge of the Rainforest, resting to
allow his engine to cool off some. After all, that forest is pretty big. He
again looks up, and out at the horizon where he assumes the aerial forces are
headed off to. Charge Man gives a shifty look before he steps out from the
safety of the trees that aren't knocked into the ground and observes.
[Radio: (A) Main] Storm Owl transmits, "We have passed
into the African Rainforest sector. We have detected a single Robot Master
observing us from afar."
[Radio: (A) Main] Storm Owl transmits, "Sensors have
identified the enemy unit as Charge Man."
[Radio: (A) Main] Marine Lieutenant Assault Kangaroo
transmits, "Either he's going to call the other Masters in, or they don't
quite care about the place anymore."
[Radio: (A) Main] Shining Firefly transmits, "So far,
the Mirror Desert has been clear of activity for quite some time."
[Radio: (A) Main] Marine Lieutenant Assault Kangaroo
transmits, "In any case, I'm ready."
[Radio: (A) Main] Storm Owl transmits, "Or he merely
wishes to observe our patrol route setup. Regardless of his intentions, Lt. Assault
Kangaroo, remove Charge Man from the area."
[Radio: (A) Main] Marine Lieutenant Assault Kangaroo
transmits, "I will do my best, Commander Owl."
[Radio: (A) Main] Storm Owl transmits, "Excellent,
Shining. I have patrols set up to give an advance warning on any enemy troops
heading in your direction."
On the Monitor, Assault Kangaroo has arrived.
On the Monitor, Fortress V continues to hang in the air like
a huge threat. A clenched fist ready to pound anyone into the ground. The ship
is in the northwestern area of the sector, currently holding position about one
hundred metres above the top of the treeline. Aerial patrols are being
dispatched from the battleship's docking bay. Storm Owl continues to coordinate
the efforts from here. But the Major would prefer not to have spying eyes
observe the setup. Sure, Charge Man may be an idiot, but one of the smarter,
more strategic Robot Masters out there may be able to find some flaw in the
defence organization.
On the Monitor,
Amongst the
Repliforcers being dispatched, Lieutenant Assault Kangaroo of the Marines was
sent in. However, he did not go in through conventional means. He climbed up to
the top of the Fortress V, and because the Fortress wasn't all that high in the
sky, he wouldn't have to use a dropship or anything. Moving near the front of
the roof of the Fortress V, Assault prepared himself. When his target was
close, Assault leapt from the ship, falling through the leaves of the trees and
landing on both feet on the forest ground.
Dusting
himself off as he stood, Assault Kangaroo prepared to deal with Charge Man,
wherever he was.
[Radio: (C) Chat] Marine Lieutenant Assault Kangaroo
transmits, "Hope you didn't mind me dropping down there in a flashy
manner."
On the Monitor,
The Master quickly turns around upon hearing a faint metallic thud
somewhere close by. Raising a brow (if he even has any), he lugs his whole body
to investigate, all the while puffing his chest out and generally trying to
macho himself up. After milling around a moment he stops next to a tall tree
and belts out, "Come out and fight me, Repliforcer!" while pounding
his fists on his chestplate like a gorilla.
On the Monitor, From within the Fortress V, Storm Owl shakes
his head at Assault Kangaroo's showboating entrance, not even bothering to
answer his question on the Repliforce broadband. Such illogical nonsense. But
at least the mech is on the ground now. Two Repliforce aerial gumbies (read:
suck) come up on Assault's position, ready to follow any of his orders (read:
get their asses kicked). The other aerials, meanwhile, continue to set up their
patrol routes and are flying every which way. There might even be the odd brief
firefight between any Robot Master drones lurking about in the rainforest and
the gumbies.
On the Monitor,
Assault
Kangaroo, after dusting himself off, spoke a few orders to the two aerial
gumbies.
<Follow me
until I get to Charge Man, and then circle around us... but hold your fire.
When I say, "FIRE," that's when you take your shots at the Robot
Master. Is that clear?>
After the
gumbies nodded, Kangaroo nodded himself.
<Good.>
He ran in the
direction of Charge Man as they followed. His target was a Robot Master, so
Kangaroo knew he wasn't very smart... but he could be powerful, being a brute
force type. Either way, though, he was ready to take the Master down.
When he was
close, Assault stopped and threw a high side kick with his right leg, the one
trailing behind him, right at Charge Man's train face.
On the Monitor, Assault Kangaroo strikes Charge Man with his
Foot Sword attack.
On the Monitor,
Charge stares forward, tapping his foot as he waits. And, lo, the
Repliforcer makes himself known - a.. kangaroo? Oh, come ON. Nonetheless,
Charge just wants to get this over with so he can go home and report it and
then get Dr. Wily to be pleased and snuggle and hug him so he will feel happy
and not lonely anymore. Yeah. The Master spreads his legs some to firmly plant
them in the ground, not bothering to even dodge the sudden attack. His face is
clipped by the foot, causing a gash in the synthskin.
He grits his
teeth and scowls as the anger builds up inside of him. The train, snarling at
Kangaroo, begins at a rush right in his direction with his large head pointing
directly at him as means to bash right into the reploid.
On the Monitor, Charge Man strikes Assault Kangaroo with his
Head Meets Something Hard attack.
On the Monitor, From within the Fortress V, Storm Owl
watches the battle from afar. Really, the outcome is fairly unimportant, as far
as Storm Owl is concerned. If Charge is chased back, then great. If not, then
he'll be damaged enough to think twice about messing around here - hopefully.
The two aerials nod and salute briefly to Assault and begin to swiftly circle
around for a flank shot on the train man. The aerials have their laser rifles
primed, and they're ready to begin blasting away on Assault's command.
On the Monitor,
Lt. Kangaroo
finished the kick, when... WHAM! Charge Man, well, charged into him and sent
him rolling away. He only rolled once, however, before he rolled back onto his
feet, with a command...
<FIRE!>
...and had
the gumbies take shots at the Master. After that, Assault made a mad dash
toward Charge, and leapt at him as he recovered from his first charge, kicking
at the face in order to blind him with large trapezoidal spikes to the eyes...
On the Monitor, Assault Kangaroo strikes Charge Man with his
Generic Ranged attack.
On the Monitor, Assault Kangaroo strikes Charge Man with his
Eye Crusher attack.
On the Monitor, Charge Man is temporarily disoriented by
Assault Kangaroo's Eye Crusher attack.
On the Monitor, From within the Fortress V, Storm Owl
continues to watch for no other reason than because you cannot @emit from the
FV, and thus every pose has to start with either your name or the Fortress V's
name. Anyhow, the two gumbies take careful aim, training their guns on Charge Man
with their rifles even as Assault prepares to launch himself at the Robot
Master. From the rifles comes two crimson bolts of energy, seeking out Charge
in an attempt to put a halt to his evil ways!
On the Monitor,
And the gumbies fire at Charge from the sides, and while the lasers
don't really do much, it does serve to make him very angry - and distracted.
This distraction proves to be a Very Bad Idea. Before Charge Man can even see
(har har) what hits him, he... can't see! His eyes crack and bleed a bit, and
the internal circuitry struggles to find a way to repair this damage and
restore eyesight. That won't stop Charge, though. He swings about furiously in
random directions while shouting angry curses.
On the Monitor,
After Lt.
Kangaroo landed from his dirty attack, he just stood there in a ready position,
even as Charge began to flail. When Charge flailed in his direction, Assault
caught his arm, and struck him in the torso with a high side kick using his
left leg, attempting to knock him down. After the kick, Assault gave another
order...
<FIRE!>
And leapt
back as the gumbies took shots at the Robot Master again.
On the Monitor, Assault Kangaroo strikes Charge Man with his
Counter Crash attack.
On the Monitor, Assault Kangaroo strikes Charge Man with his
Generic Ranged attack.
On the Monitor, Fortress V continues to keep watch over the
various patrols being sent out, including the little incident between Assault
Kangaroo and Charge Man. The two gumbies quickly back off to avoid being
smashed by the blind, but still rampaging, Charge Man. Their rifles are
recharged and they're taking aim once more, hovering in the air to avoid being
struck by the train-mech. But the two gumbies cannot risk shooting at the Robot
Master until Assault has backed off. I sure hope nobody blasts the gumbies so
they won't keep shooting him. Hint hint.
On the Monitor,
At the kicking and the shooting and anything else going on, Charge
stepped back at the impact of the kick hitting him right in the waist.
Thankfully, it doesn't hit his crotch. That would suck. Luckily, his eyes kick
back in as the optical circuitry reconnects itself elsewhere, and while it's
not as good, it's still something and he can see his foe. The train mech, furious
about this cheap shot, lowers himself into his locomotive position. His wheels
squeal against the wet ground, flinging mud and dirt back. Charge Man goes
flying towards Assault Kangaroo, but not before bellowing, "You wanna see
power?! Here it is!!"
On the Monitor, Charge Man misses Assault Kangaroo with his
Charge Ram attack.
On the Monitor,
Assault leapt
to the side, and upon landing, he raised his right foot and brought it down on
the ground so hard that a brief earthquake occurred in an area around him. He
is doing this to intercept Charge while he's advancing -- if it doesn't work,
at least he dodged the charge. Hit or miss, Assault ordered his gumbies
again...
<FIRE!>
...and the
duo took their shots again.
On the Monitor, Assault Kangaroo strikes Charge Man with his
Hard Temblor attack.
On the Monitor, Assault Kangaroo strikes Charge Man with his
Generic Ranged attack.
On the Monitor, From within the Fortress V, Storm Owl folds
his arms as he keeps an optic on Assault's battle. The gumbies, much closer to
the action, watch as the Repliforcer avoids Charge Man's rapid advance.
"Good move, Lieutenant!" "Way to go, sir! Show that rust bucket
a thing or two!" They still have their rifles, of course, and since they
still haven't been attacked, are still ready to shoot at Charge Man whenever
the chance presents itself. Bless those gumbies. Again, the twin crimson bolts
shoot out from their weaponry. They're awesome shots, it would seem.
On the Monitor,
"Rrrrnnh!" grunts the Robot Master, shaking some at the sudden
rumbling. This causes him to lose his balance some and crash into a tree that
cracks and falls to the ground. He spins himself around in the right direction,
still maintaining his position as he stares at Assault. One of his eyes
twitches and he rears upward some, clenching his fists. From his head, a tremendous,
high-pitched whistle shrieks throughout the battlefield. It's so loud that it
causes some of the plants to tremble.
On the Monitor, Charge Man strikes Assault Kangaroo with his
Whistle attack.
On the Monitor, Assault Kangaroo is temporarily disoriented
by Charge Man's Whistle attack.
On the Monitor,
Lt. Kangaroo
got back in a ready position, and was about to attack the train again... when a
HIGH, PIERCING WHISTLE blows through the air.
"ARGH!"
Assault
grasped his audio receptors as he recoiled back and fell to one knee. The
gumbies would undoubtedly be affected too.
On the Monitor, Fortress V detects the piercing whistle, and
Storm Owl observes as the three combatants trying to take down the Robot Master
monster is struck by the incapacitating assault. The two gumbies let out a yelp
and fall to the ground, clutching their audio sensors with their hands in an
attempt to drown out the loud noise. Their rifles are currently slung around
their necks, so thankfully they don't drop their weapons.
On the Monitor,
The whistle continues for a few seconds after he sees his foes fall to
the ground like a bunch of big, metal babies. Charge Man pumps his arms some,
returning to his normal stance and he quickly grabs the fallen tree next to him
with not too much hassle. With that, he swings the trunk over at Kangaroo and
the two gumbies with a great FWOOSH noise normally heard in every single cheesy
kung-fu movie ever, hopefully hitting three birds with one stone!
On the Monitor, Charge Man strikes Assault Kangaroo with his
Ultrahuck attack.
On the Monitor,
Assault and
the two gumbies were all struck by the tree, and sent flying away. Upon hitting
the ground, Kangaroo got up in a handstand, before placing his feet back on the
ground. He showed excessive trauma on his upper body, and he wanted to stop the
Master. Leaping far and high toward Charge Man, he landed right in front of
him, and raised his right knee towards the left side. He then threw a fast side
kick -- if it missed, he leapt back. If it hit, he would go into a
lightning-fast combination of side kicks, high, middle, and low, that would go
on for four seconds... ending with a powerful spinning side kick using his
other leg in order to send Train Man away.
In either
case, he gave an uttering of...
<FIRE!>
...and the
gumbies, having recovered now, fired upon the Master.
On the Monitor, Assault Kangaroo strikes Charge Man with his
Assault Mirage attack.
On the Monitor, Assault Kangaroo strikes Charge Man with his
Generic Ranged attack.
On the Monitor, From within the Fortress V, Storm Owl
continues watching like a creepy old guy staring at a teen voyeur video. The
gumbies, meanwhile, risking life and limb in an attempt to make it so Charge
Man leaves, find out the hard way that the Robot Master's bark is worse than
his bite. The root of the problem is that the Master has branched out in his
mode of attacks and smacked them like a golfer with a with a one wood.
Thankfully, despite the close brush with death, the two mechs are still pining
for a chance to stalk Charge Man with a virtual forest of additional laser
fire.
On the Monitor,
Still recovering from hucking a giant piece of wood, Charge Man is the
victim of Assault's super-kicks. The train Master is knocked back even more.
His armor is full of dents and slices and burns from the assault (hurr hurr) of
both the kangaroo's feet and the gumbies' firing, and for a moment, he just
stares and looks scared. Yes, scared. The big ol' 10-foot-tall train of a
Master is scared. He squats into locomotive position for the millionth time in
this RP, and with smoke spewing out from his damaged smokestack, he
tooooooooots and starts surging off into the opposite direction. He'll get you
next time, punks!
On the Monitor, Charge Man retreats from the area swiftly,
leaving him open to pursuit or parting shots from Assault Kangaroo.
On the Monitor,
Lt. Kangaroo
turned to face Train Man as he drove away. He performed one last maneuver
against his retreating foe.
He performed
a spinning axe kick with his left leg, his foot claws generating a white energy
crescent that streaked toward the locomotive man. After that, he did a spinning
axe kick with the other leg, also generating a white energy crescent. Both of
these flew at a high speed at Charge Man, hoping to hit the Master.
Hit or miss,
Assault then fell to one knee. Bringing his radio up, he finally made another
radio message to the airship.
<To quote
an ancient television show... Beam me up, Scotty. Along with those two
gumbies... because we're too damaged to continue any further.>
He spoke the
truth. With severe upper-body trauma, he couldn't possibly continue.
On the Monitor, Assault Kangaroo strikes Charge Man with his
Dual Bullet attack.
On the Monitor, Charge Man falls to the ground, unconscious,
due to massive systems damage.
[Radio: (A) Main] Marine Lieutenant Assault Kangaroo
transmits, "To quote an ancient television show... Beam me up, Scotty.
Along with those two gumbies... because we're too damaged to continue any
further."
[Radio: (A) Main] Storm Owl transmits, "Confirmed. A
pick-up dropship is being launched now."
[Radio: (A) Main] Marine Lieutenant Assault Kangaroo
transmits, "Understood."
On the Monitor, From within the Fortress V, Storm Owl, who's
forest-themed pose evidently went over everyone's head ;-), watches as the
battle reaches a conclusion. Storm Owl nods in mild satisfaction, noting each
and every error that Assault might have made. The owl confirms Assault's
request for a pick-up, and within just a few seconds, a drop-ship is launched
from the Fortress V's docking bay, streaking towards the trio of Repliforce
warriors. The two gumbies, meanwhile, give a great sigh of relief as Charge Man
first flees, and then falls. They land on the ground next to the lieutenant,
damaged from being smashed with a tree just a while back. "Good job,
sir!" one of them compliments.
On the Monitor,
In the distance, a metal thud can be heard. Apparently, this must've
triggered a tightbeam of some sort, because a small mob of aerial drones whizz
by to grasp Charge Man's body and drag him off to safety.
On the Monitor, Charge Man enters the Ivory Coast.
On the Monitor, Charge Man has left.
On the Monitor,
Assault
Kangaroo rose both of his arms, allowing himself to be picked up by the
gumbies.
"Thank
you..."
Odd thing is,
he said it in English, and then in Korean. Odd.
The
Lieutenant walked with the gumbies to the dropship that had just been deployed
near them, before he would step in... He was glad for this. He needed some
serious repair at this point... and so did the gumbies, probably.
On the Monitor, From within the Fortress V, Storm Owl tracks
the drop ship as it lands next to the trio and grants them access. The gumbies
share a glance at Assault's double speak, but shrug. Who knows, maybe he had a
screw knocked loose by Charge Man during that bout. Either way, it's probably
best not to ask.

Title: Log:
Relocation
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There's an
exterior shot of the Fortress V as it hovers motionless about one hundred feet
above the highest tree in the African Rainforest. There are Repliforce aerials
flying each and every way on patrol. The majestic battleship has taken her
rightful throne in the sky, ruling over those below. Storm Owl gives a
voiceover.
"Captain's log, November 28th, 2217. As per Colonel's approval, we set
course for the African Rainforest to quell the combat there. We are holding
position in the northwestern sector of the forest in case Lt. Shining's
reconstruction efforts come under enemy attack. Patrols have been sent out to
give any advance warning of enemy encroachments upon either of our sites."
"At 1924
hours sensors detected a lone Robot Master identified as Charge Man observing
our patrol and picket arrangement. I dispatched Lt. Assault Kangaroo along with
two aerial troopers to deal with the enemy unit. After a brief battle, they
were successful in bringing the Robot Master down. Sensor scans have concluded
that Charge Man was deactivated, but enemy drones were successful in salvaging
his body. Lt. Assault's performance was moderately acceptable."
"Regardless, I would stress to other officers that the presence of
the Fortress V will not eliminate enemy movements through the sector. The
forest is far too large for the battleship to successfully cover. Furthermore,
the foliage offers considerable cover from aerial bombardment. Remain
vigilant."
"Storm
Owl out."

<Text Message from Grandpa>
I would like to say that Assualt Kangaroo should be fully
functional and ready for duty after a day or two of rest in the MedBay, which
will allow for his armor to be refined and repaired from the damage he took
from Charge Man. The damage was not overly severe; most of it was dealt to the
torso area, but Assualt's audio receptors did suffer a bit from some sonic
attacks from the Robot Master. All in all, the repairs were preformed without
any complications, and he will be ready to be released at around noon PST on
tuesday.

Repliforce Update Sun Nov 28
Charge Man
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<Spinny.>
The screen
fades into the medbay, with Charge Man in full view. He's in really bad
condition - his armor looks like it was trampled on by a herd of angry
elephants, burnt, there's a big gash in the middle of his face, cracks in his
eyes, and his smokestack is snapped in half. Various medical drones zip around
him, working on fixing him as he speaks.
"I was
checking out the Rain Forest in Africa around the Mirror Desert area to see
what the Repliforce is up to. Turns out the For-fo-f-f..fffffor..f-f-" he
stutters, having a really hard time pronouncing that word. "... FORTRESS
V, yeah, is stationed right near it. There's a bunch of patrols everywhere,
too. You guys might wanna be careful or come up with a different plan because
of this."
His eyes
twitch some, and he continues while a bunch of sparks fly off around him. He
leans forward some.. or, at least as much as he can. "Also, Repliforce
sucks and they are fat and stupid and ugly and ugly and fat and stupid and fat
and ugly and stupid and fat and stupid! I won't fail ya NEXT TIME, I SWEAR!!
They totally cheaped me out!" At that, he falls backwards with a huge
THUNK, bringing a bunch of clamps and wires clattering down along with him. The
screen flickers off.
<Spinny
again.>
