Fortress V - Bridge
The true
brains of the Repliforce Fortress, the bridge is always bustling with activity
as reploids move in and out, the crew here always watching out for the systems,
subsystems, and weapons of the might Fortress V. Comfortable couches with long
panels allow the bridge crew to sit while commanding the vessel, while other
stations allow people to stand as they work at them. A combination
transparisteel window/viewscreen rests at the front of the room, and a large
steering wheel, seemingly taken from a pirate's vessel, rests in the back of
the room, its purpose seemingly decorative. Doors here lead to the offices of
Colonel and General, as well as the ready room.

[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Static Hawk says,
"Commander Storm Owl..."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Static Hawk: You say,
"Confirmed. Who is this?"
Storm Owl is at his post on the bridge, sitting in his
purposefully uncomfortable command chair. A radio message has come through to
his armrest mounted terminal, and he idly reponds to it.
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Static Hawk says, "I
don't suppose you remember me, Commander? Of course not, how could you. You and
the rest of Aerial division never bothered to remember me."
Iris is, of course, looking VERY busy and not at all like
she's eavesdropping. Which probably means she IS eavesdropping. She has a nasty
habit of doing that.
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Static Hawk: You say,
"It would seem that, in this case, you are correct. I do not recognize
your voice."
As it turns out, it doesn't matter whether Iris is listening
in or not, as Storm Owl turns to her station and says, "I'm receiving a
transmission to my terminal, Major. Any ID on the source?" Clearly this
person is a member of Repliforce, and likely the aerial division, but Storm Owl
doesn't recognize the voice.
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Static Hawk says, "The
name is Static Hawk. The computer database will likely have information if you
so wish to search for it. I'm not quite certain if they have me listed as MIA
or deceased. It matters not, I just want you to know that I am alive and well.
I can't say the same for one of your junior officers I managed to snatch on his
free time *wet snap of joints*"
"Well, I could sure find out for you," Iris says
with conversational cheer, as she runs a trace-scan on the frequency.
Storm Owl taps in a few commands, routing the conversation
so Iris can hear as well... even though she probably already is. "Static
Hawk?" he muses. Nope, the name doesn't ring a bell. "Are there any
junior officers listed as MIA?" Storm's wondering about this poor soul
that was probably killed by this Static Hawk.

Quote:
"Revenge is a dish best served in blazing hot electrical
death."
Profile: A former
member of the Repliforce aerial division, Static Hawk specializes in both
electrical assault and air supremacy. One of four elemental raptor siblings,
Static was a low key figure whereas his brothers had excelled. His superiors
regarded him as a moderate soldier who didnt particularly stand out like his
kin, a social recluse of sort, yet he met the tasks required of him. Despite
being the black sheep of the four, everyone knew him as a simple trooper just
doing what needed to be done to get by. Nobody had suspected his growing
jealousy and ego that paralleled his decaying sympathy with the Repliforce
authority that had compared him with the other three... until it was too late.
During the great siege on the city of Berlin, Static Hawk was infected by the
virus... fueling his bitterness and contempt exponentially. It was in the heat
of battle, then and there, that he openly switched sides and declared his
allegience to the Coaltion with the murder of his surprised siblings. Having
freed himself from the bonds of his superiors and the restrictions of human
law, his vain and sadistic glory seeking has been nurtured to its full
potential. He lives to spread the sweet gospel of Sigma while exacting revenge
by making life unbearable to those who had wronged him.

[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Static Hawk: You say,
"*silence for a few moments as Storm Owl apparently speaks briefly with
someone else to see if we can't find any missing junior officers. Finally:* I
see, Static Hawk. Ah yes, I have your file here. Missing in Action. I presume,
judging from your veiled admissions, that you are not returning to your
post."
"Give me a minute to check," Iris says, wrapping
her brain around the mystery and accessing certain data files.
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Static Hawk says, "You
are correct, Commander. Come to these coordinates alone *transmission* if you
want him back alive. If you bring friends, I will feast upon whats left of this
whelp."
Iris, after a moment: "...Yeah, a few. He's one of
them."
Storm Owl scowls at this latest transmission, glancing at
Iris briefly. Were Storm Owl a normal mech, he'd have all sorts of sarcastic
remarks on the tip of his tongue. He nods to her and stands up from his command
chair, considering the options here. This could very, very easily be a trap.
It's likely, even. Perhaps it's best to just leave the poor soul to die? Do Not
Deal With Terrorists. Is that not what they usually say? Would it not be only
logical to refuse? Storm glances again at Iris, seeking the opinion of a fellow
Major on this.
"Ummm...well..." Iris looks...lost. Sadly, her
brother was graced with ALL of the decision-making skills. She has tremendous
empathy for the poor junior officer getting snapped into bits, but no cognitive
plan to get him out of there. "I wonder if Plasma or Hailstorm could go
get him out of there? -- I know that Barrage could, but it would get
violent."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Static Hawk says,
"Tick-tock, Commander."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Static Hawk: You say,
"I am currently confirming as much of your story as I can, Static Hawk.
May I have proof of the junior officer's wellbeing?"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Static Hawk says,
"Well, he's well enough to scream like a child... *loud crunch followed by
a wail of agony*"
Storm Owl considers it briefly and discards it. While Storm
Owl has no problem with sending in troops into a dangerous situation, in a
hostage case like this, Static would execute the junior officer as soon as he
sees it is not Storm Owl who has arrived. At the wail, Storm Owl emotionlessly
says to Iris, "If anyone is to go, it would seem I would have the best
chance to get close enough to make a rescue." Pause. "Can you
identify the junior officer based on that scream, Major?"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Static Hawk: You say,
"May I ask why you wish me to go to these coordinates? The only logical
conclusion I can reach is that this is a trap, and that you do not plan on
allowing my officer to survive."
"I'll try," Iris says, furrowing her brow as she
analyzes the sound.
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Static Hawk says, "To
be blunt, Commander, I don't care if he lives or dies. But I know you do. I
tell you this, I am alone... believe that if you wish as well. Either way, this
reploid is dead if you don't show and I will gladly find another to replace him
to offer you the same deal until you comply."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Static Hawk: You say,
"A hostage negotiation is a two-way street, Static Hawk. I am willing to
go to the coordinates, provided you give me your word that the junior officer
will be released, unharmed, and inform me of why you want me there."
"Looks like it's Corporal Welding Fox...he's stationed
in Anchorage on an energy survey," Iris answers.
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Static Hawk says,
"Silly rabbit, I want you here so that /you/ can take his place in
suffering. You have my word that the hatchling shall live."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Static Hawk: You say,
"I shall be there, Static Hawk. But at the first sight of another
/Maverick/, or upon finding that Welding Fox is not released, I shall
depart."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Static Hawk says,
"Excellent. No dilly-dallying now."
Storm Owl nods gratefully to Iris and says, "Thank you,
Major. Please have the medical bay stand by... either for myself, or for
Welding Fox." Storm Owl is not what one would call a noble officer, so
should the odds be stacked against him getting out of this, Welding Fox is
likely never going to return.
Iris nods. "Be careful!" she says worriedly.
"He's probably going to try to entrap you." Well, no duh. But she's
worried.
Storm Owl inclines his head and doesn't bother pointing out
that it's obvious. He'll be careful. Within seconds, the door to the turbolift
whooshes shut, and Storm Owl is gone.

This is where the brains of the Repliforce meet and think, carrying out

are bound to crop up in war. The teleporters sit in the rear of this area,

Anyone in his way gets a curt nod as he passes them by.
The harrier notices the owl, offering a chirping salute to
him, "Commander... Everything ok?"
Assault
Kangaroo also happened to be there, standing near the turbolifts, and turned as
he saw Storm Owl moving.
"...Commander Owl? Is something the matter?"
Storm Owl shakes his head as he rushes past, not even
slowing down for a second. "Everything is most certainly not 'ok'. Yes,
there is something the matter which I must resolve. Major Iris has details
should you wish to know further, but alas I do not have the time to
explain." No further explanation, as Storm is almost to the teleporters by
now.

Anchorage Industrial Area
Once the site of
the city's fuel storage facility, this is now the site of mass devastation.
Chunks of twisted metal and boulders the size of houses are thrown about like
childrens' toys, littering the landscape. The towers that once held the fuel
are nothing but melted frames set over large craters in the ground. Everything
is charred black from the explosion that leveled the place a few years ago.
Only a few of the crumbling cement buildings still stand upright, and all of
them look in terrible shape. The atmosphere is stark and uninviting, even
downright intimidating. Even though there are many places to hide, it seems very
exposed here, as if everything was being watched. Even the lowest of the
lowlifes avoid this area like the plague.
Sewage Shark [C] Static Hawk [M]
Napalm Man's Secret Weapons Storage Cache #78 <NMC>
East <E> leads to Anchorage Central Main Street.
The wasteland of what was once Anchorage is littered with
various debree, one indistinguishable from the other. However, there in the far
off heart of darkness lights an eerie glow dancing like the flickering flame of
a candle. Static Hawk stands at the center of a makeshift arena, his body
convulsing with law electrical power, the crackling of atoms as his generators
produce massive quantities of energy for the coming fued. The blue slithering
serpentine streaks threading in and out of his body, eagerly anticipating to be
released. The hawk cries an eerie wail, a combination of a resonating evil
shriek with a dark toned howl. As he hovers, below is Welding Fox... crucified
to a steel beam, body battered and broken.
Meanwhile,
Sewage Shark is leaning against a big piece of drab grey rubble, looking quite
tense. The blue energy emitting from the maverick flashes light across his
armor, making him look quite bright in the surrounding darkness. This, and his
red crystal is glowing softly to see somewhat better as the dark grey clouds
cover the sky. The shark's orange eyes turn upward to watch the commotion.
What a perfect setting for a disgusting scene as a hostage
situation. Storm Owl's trip here has been a steady mix of activity and
contemplation. The latter involves watching the wrecked landscape below and
wondering if any of them have a squadron of Maverick sharpshooters ready to
open fire. The former has the war bird muttering into his radio, giving out
information about this whole dilemma to others in the faction. There's little
doubt in Storm Owl's mind that Static Hawk is now a Maverick, despite not being
specifically told. Upon seeing the flickering flame far off in the darkness,
Storm cuts off his radio transmissions. Who knows what interception
capabilities this Static Hawk could have after a Coalition overhaul. His keen
audio-sensors detect the piercing howl, and his optics spot the comparatively
bright Sewage Shark. Soon, three figures can be seen. Storm Owl identifies the
large avian as Static Hawk, the second as Sewage Shark, and the last... well,
there can be no doubt who has been cruelly attached to the metal beam.
Storm Owl
hovers about fifty feet over the arena, peering down, "You are not
alone." he remarks simply. "And Welding Fox appears to be
harmed." He awaits his reply.
[Radio: (B) Secure] Storm Owl transmits, "Report:
Approximately one hour ago I received a transmission from a Repliforce aerial
trooper listed as MIA. He has been identified as Static Hawk. He has kidnapped
Junior Officer Welding Hawk and has stated that he will release him only on the
condition of my meeting with him in Anchorage alone. I have agreed, however
will not hesitate to depart should his words be proven false. The medical bay
should be standing by to potentially receive wounded, as well as be prepared to
conduct virus scans. I am now cutting off outgoing radio transmissions in case
Static Hawk has been outfitted with interception equipment. No Repliforcer, or
any of our allies, are to approach Anchorage unless I resume contact, or there
is evidence of my deactivation as deemed by a ranking officer."
"He's
alive isn't he?" Snaps the raptor, his voice crackling with the surge of
power. "As for the fish..." He motions to the other present as if he
were no more than a mite. "He came on his own accord, I have no business
with him. I permitted him to stay and witness your death so that someone may
support my gloating when this is all said and done." The Maverick hovers
over to the crucified fox, lifting the weakened reploid's chin with little
effort as it hangs in unconsciousness. "I didn't hurt the whelp...
much." He cackles. "Besides, I had to make him scream for you...
remember?" A sadistic snarl spreads across the avians expression. "I
am actually somewhat surprised you agreed to come so quickly for a no-name such
as this one." Swinging his wing in a wide horizontal arc, the razor tips
snap free the bonds that tie the forcer, and the unmoving form falls to the
ground with a loud thud. The glow in Static increases, shadows dancing in the
flickering aura. As he cackles in the stereotypical villanous fashion, he
executes an equally stereotypical villainous line. "Prepare to meet your
doom!"
...
"What the.. hey!" grunts the shark reploid with some indignance. When
he finally hears the arrival of this mysterious foe, he looks towards the
source of the noise. Hmm, another bird.. he doesn't recognize this one, though.
"You think I'm on your side, Maverick? Arggh.. raggin' craggin'.. me and
Owl-guy here could doubleteam you if we wanted to!" Now the Shark is quite
ticked off, and just spouts off whatever he wants to. He hears the corny line,
rolling his eyes and looking over at the unfortunate fox reploid.
Storm Owl listens intently to the renegade Repliforce
trooper and idly wonders how the mech became so disenfranchised with the Force.
The Aerial Unit didn't pay enough attention to him? Another fine reason why the
mental conditioning of a Repliforcer must be top notch. Storm Owl gives another
glance towards Sewage Shark, trying to judge whether or not the mech will be a
problem for this. His cantankerousness towards the Hawk could easily be an act.
But at least there's confirmation that Static indeed is a Maverick. "You
wish to duel with me? Is that it, trooper Static Hawk?" Storm Owl shakes
his head, "Such emotional nonsense." He addresses Welder Fox,
"Return to the ship, officer, if you can." If he can't, Storm Owl glances
towards Static, clearly expecting that Welder should be given help returning to
the Fortress V. A shame he didn't have any allies about.
"Shudup!" The hawk snaps his beak over towards the
fish below. "Make yourself useful and bring that pathetic piece of scrap
to the nearest teleporter." The Maverick motions to the fallen Vulpine.
His attention returns to his former Commander. "And as for you, /sir/... I
am no longer your trooper. I am Static Hawk, the Maverick. The rogue, renegade,
the traitor." Sarcasm drips with each word. "Prepare yourself,
commander." A ball of static curls into a sphere within his palm and is
quickly unleashed with the thrust of his arm forward. "GYAAH!"
Static Hawk misses you with his Static Discharge attack.
Sewage Shark
normally wouldn't take orders from some pompous Maverick, but he does feel
sorry for the beat-up fox reploid. He approaches the injured one while
muttering something about 'eating birds' and crouches down to heave the person
up onto his back. He shifts some, metal scraping against metal as he adjusts
himself and manages to listen to the conversation. Once secure, he turns around
and heads off south towards a more less-destroyed portion of Anchorage.
Storm Owl inclines his head towards Sewage, apparently
agreeing with Static that it would be helpful if Welder could be taken to
safety. Turning his attention back to Static Hawk, Storm Owl retorts in a loud,
but even tone, "All those names apply, trooper. How you could possibly
reach the conclusion that the Coalition's views would be superior than our own
regarding the development of our species is beyond me." This is sort of a
lie. One of the most logical mechs Storm Owl has ever known, Storm Eagle, did
just that. "Know this, traitor: I am not engaging in this battle to satisfy
your revenge against a sense of wrong-doing on our part."
Storm Owl
begins executing a series of complicated evasive maneuvers, climbing up high in
an attempt to avoid any shots fired his way. The static ball grazes his wing,
leaving a scorch mark as it flies further up into the air. "It is because
you're now officially an enemy of Repliforce, and I mean to bring you in."
Still concentrating on his maneuvers, the Fortress Commander fires off a blast
of compressed air from his wind generators, trying to knock the Maverick to the
ground.
You miss Static Hawk with your Wind Blast attack.
Hawk is
equally swift, dodging to his left as he soars higher and higher to the air and
closing the gap between the two aerial contenders. "Who said I believed
everything they said? It matters not what you believe, all I care about is
exacting my revenge!" Upon reaching close proximity, he pivots his waist
sidelong and swings his wings in a wide arc as they spread completely open to
swat the Repliforcer out of the air. "Fall!"
Static Hawk strikes you with a minor hit from his Wing Slam
attack for 8 units of damage.
Storm Owl shoots a glance towards poor Fox Welder and Sewage
Shark. Were Storm Owl an emotional mech, his heart would go out to the poor
technician as well. The guy probably never thought he'd see combat, and
probably wasn't prepared for it, yet was still drawn in, seemingly at random,
by a maniac. But Storm Owl is not an emotional mech, so he merely calculates
the chances Welder will be able to recover from his wounds. "Revenge
against /what/, trooper? That you were ignored? That is an idiotic reason for
wishing to exterminate us and humanity."
Still seeking
the high ground, Storm Owl tries to rise up above Static Hawk as the Maverick
approaches. But soon it becomes clear the Repliforce isn't travelling fast
enough to get out of the way. Rather than attempt a last minute evade, Storm
Owl tilts downwards and streaks towards Static. The pair collide in a clash of
metal and wings, and Storm Owl is sent reeling backwards, momentarily drifting
downwards towards the ground. How does Static handle the impact?
You strike Static Hawk with a minor hit from your Glancing
Strike attack.
After a
while, Sewage Shark returns to the battle scene empty-handed, having brought
the injured reploid all the way to the teleportation station and sent him off
to the convenient F5 exit. The sound of his metal feet pounding against the
ground probably isn't heard over the commotion, and those footsteps grow more
rapid when Sewage runs towards where he was before. He looks upward and leans
back, taking in the sights. Who to cheer on?
Rocked by the impact of collision, Static struggles to
maintain a precarious position as he tumbles about in the air. Finally, the
stabilizers kick in and he is straightened right-side-up with the dizziness
subsiding. "Who said I wanted to exterminate humanity? I just want to
exterminate /you/." Thrusters blast to life and propel the raptor at
incredible speeds downward in a spectacular kamikaze divebomb to show his
former commander that he is will to endure pain to deal it out. That his own
suffering is every bit its worth for payback. "Idiotic ideals, I say. I
was the best, I /should/ have made the rank of /major/ by the assault on
Berlin. BUT I WAS DENIED!" Fist forward, he comes down for Storm Owl like
lightning.
Static Hawk misses you with his Divebomb attack.
Storm Owl, unfortunately, ends up at a lower altitude than
Static after their collision, and thus has the immediate tactical disadvantage.
Wind generators humming in order to provide Storm Owl with greater maneuverability.
The speed that the Maverick descends upon him is frightening indeed, and Storm
Owl is lucky to have outraced the fist. "And when you similarly fail to
rise in the Maverick ranks as in Repliforce's due to continued failures on your
part, Static Hawk, will you rebel against the Coalition as well?" Storm
Owl (briefly) read Static Hawk's profile the moment he was identified, and
knows the former Repliforce was a low key figure. A moderate combatant, at
best. Storm Owl angles upwards and points both of his fists at the now lower
robot, summoning up the winds to aid him. "Needless to say, you won't be
getting the chance." A storm begins to brew, kicking about the ample
debris from the wasteland. It whirls about in a choatic fashion around Static.
With luck, the mech will be struck by one of the missiles of wreckage.
You miss Static Hawk with your Cyclone Storm attack.
"Wow,
those two are just dancing and flirting up there, aren't they.." Sewage
comments to nobody in particular. He watches the enemies clash against each
other, also exchanging words which the shark listens to. Fascinating story.. at
least until the shark just barely misses being hit by some tumbling debris.
"Gah!"
"I need
not rise in the ranks of the Mavericks, Commander." He cackles. "For
the powers to be have broken me free of your laws, of your human bondage. I am
free to do /whatever/ I please. And with freedom like that... who needs rank? I
do as I please... that is the ultimate luxury of freedom." Static raises
his wings to deflect the storm of wind and wreckage flinging about through the
air. "Freedom to inflict pain, suffering, revenge. Freedom to kill!"
The wings lash open and brush the winds away. "Two can play at this game,
Commander." Suddenly, a burst of lightning shoots out from the Maverick.
Then another, and another, and another... on and on until the entire scene is
blinding with constant flashes of electricity sprouting everywhere, metal
scraps being blasted to ash and the earth scorched. The electrical storm
ensues, consuming all in its wake.
Static Hawk strikes you with a major hit from his Electric
Storm attack for 20 units of damage.
Storm Owl is doing his best not to include Sewage in his
attempts to deactivate Static Hawk. Storm Owl has received confirmation that
Welder Fox has been returned to the ship safely. But still, the bystander might
still get in the way. Storm Owl reasons that Sewage can leave any time he
wishes, afterall. "Your human bondage?" Storm Owl echoes. "No
Repliforcer is forbidden to resign from the service." Storm Owl pauses in
order to concentrate on his cyclone, but he's unable to keep it going as the
wreckage gets knocked aside by Static's wings. Storm Owl prepares to keep the
pressure up on Static, but before he can close in for another attack, the
streak of lightning juts out from the hawk, hitting Storm Owl in his
midsection. The owl convulses, halting in mid-air with a brief look of shock on
his face. Another streak of lightning hits Storm Owl again... and again... the
war bird falls towards the ground, barely recovering before hitting the ground.
The Fortress
V Commander's wings and belly are battered and scorched, and he watches as the
surroundings are laid to waste by the fierce electrical storm whirling about,
zapping ripping apart debris. Time for a little thunder of his own. The mech,
touching down on the ground and using a large piece of non-metallic debris for
cover, stands up straight and brings his hand to his forehead in a perfect
salute. There's a loud *CRACK-THOOM* of thunder that's drown out by the bigger
storm. But this thunderclap is right next to Static Hawk and will hopefully
disorient the mech.
You strike Static Hawk with a glancing hit from your
Thunderous Salute attack.
Static Hawk is temporarily disoriented by Storm Owl's
Thunderous Salute attack.
Sonic pulses
stronger than he had imagined possible course through his circuitry and bring a
sudden halt to Static's motion. His body spasms for but a moment uncontrollably,
much to his surprise. The ringing of the thunderous boom still processing
through his overloaded audio receptors. And for a moment, he is disoriented.
Storm Owl steps out from his cover and sees that Static has
indeed been disoriented. The owl once again takes to the air, wasting no time
as he streaks towards the Maverick even as the crash of the lightning storm
begins to die down. "Your actions regarding your lack of advancement is
illogical, Static Hawk. Your decision to join the Coalition is foolhardy."
he intones even as he streaks towards the former Repliforcer. At the point of
impact, Storm Owl angles his sharp wings to cut into the prone Maverick's chest
and hopefully slow him down a bit.
You strike Static Hawk with a minor hit from your Talon
Crush attack.
With all of
the lightning flashing around him, Sewage Shark is now quite confused, and
fumbles around in an attempt to dodge all of the rays in some sort of strange
dance. He could take watching the two duke it out for all he cares, but when
Sewage is in danger, then it's ANGER TIME! "Grr.. okay, that's it!"
he shouts, taking the chance of seeing the hawk reploid stunned at the moment.
He runs over to where the bird hovers wavily. The sound of sloshing liquid can
probably be heard in the tubes around his neck, and the sound runs down to the
shark's right hand.. which sinks into his gauntlet and out comes the barrel of
a short cannon. He takes aim.. and it seems nothing comes out. But then there's
a loud fooming noise as the flammable chemicals, exposed to the air, lights
ablaze like a great flamethrower and arcs through the air.
Sewage Shark strikes Static Hawk with his Burnflame attack.
"Argh!" Thw wings are true to their target and the razor
feathers cuts deep, spilling out circuitry and showers of sparks explode from
Static's torso. As if that wasn't enough, as he tumbles from the recoil,
super-heated chemicals splash onto his wing, corroding it. It burns like fair
and Static does what he can to keep from screaming. "Foolish
reploid!" He hisses over towards the Shark. "Now you will share the
same fate!" And with that, all hell breaks loose.
The previous
storm was but a taste of the real maelstrom. Static Hawk literally explodes in
pure light as streaks of electricity shoot out from every possible portion of
his body like a writhing ball of snakes. They slither out in a serpentine
fashion, scorching everything in their path. Only the dark silhoueete, an
outline, of the Maverick can be seen at the core as the generators go well
beyond safety protocol to unleash what can simply be described as the
electrical storm to end all electrical storm. Debree is cut like butter as the
lighting slashes out at the vicinity like countless whips, unfathomable power
crackling at their base.
Static Hawk strikes you with a major hit from his Static
Maelstrom attack for 22 units of damage.
Static Hawk strikes Sewage Shark with his Static Maelstrom
attack.
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Sewage Shark: You say,
"I can no longer stay to apprehend the Maverick. I suggest you retreat and
seek medical attention and a virus scan."
Storm Owl awkwardly, but sharply, pulls up after hitting
Static Hawk, just in time to avoid being caught in the napalm thrower. Storm
Owl shoots a surprised look at Sewage Shark. But surprise or no, the help is
most welcome. "It would seem the odds are against you, Static Hawk.
Surrender and be taken into custody to await trial. Resist, and you will
die." Storm Owl prepares himself for anything, as there's no telling what
Static might do in this situation, ranging from fleeing, going insane and
frying everything within a mile radius, or curling up into a little ball and
begging for mercy.
Bonus points
for those that guessed option B. The slithering electrical energies that shoot
out are just too numerous and erratic to be avoided, and Storm Owl is hit by
several of the snaking streaks, creating havoc with his systems. Storm Owl can
barely make out the silhouetted figure at the heart of this mess, but the war
bird can stay no longer. Sporting horrible electrical burns, Storm Owl fires
off a transmission to his almost-saviour Sewage Shark and streaks upwards and
away from the maelstrom, evading several more slithering tendrils of energy
even as they streak after him. A Repliforcer has been lost to the Coalition.
His justice will not come today.
Storm Owl retreats from the area swiftly, outdistancing all
pursuit and parting shots.
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Static Hawk says,
"Yeees... run. Run!"
Sewage Shark
finds himself caught in the midst of a powerful electric storm.. it deals quite
a bit of damage to him, overcharging his power generator and shocking his
various body parts. He can't really do anything but curl up in a ball, which is
quite hard when you're writhing around like a worm and screeching. Soon it
ends, and the shark reploid steams some but is otherwise fine, most of the
damage on the inside. Slowly he stands up and blinks before he can manage to
say anything. ".. Sew.. Sewage Shark's in a PICKLE! Outta here!" With
that, he turns his tail and runs in the opposite direction, stumbling
occasionally.
Breathing
heavily the Maverick lowers to the ground and the flashes of electricity
subside slowly, the whipping wind still throwing various debree about. As the
talons touch the ground, the Maverick cackles. Louder and louder it grows,
booming through the area like an unholy cry of victory. And as the glow fades
back into darkness, Static Hawk is devoured into shadow.

Title: Static Hawk:
Traitor
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* TEXT ONLY *
At exactly
7:00pm Fortress V time, the bridge detected a transmission for me from one
Static Hawk <see attached file +finger static_hawk>. Static Hawk was a
Repliforce trooper in the aerial division listed as Missing In Action after the
siege on Berlin. Personnel profiles indicate he was a moderate, low key
combatant. It is my regret to report that he has turned Maverick, and in doing
so, kidnapped junior technical officer Welder Fox <see attached file
welder_fox>. Static demanded that I meet him alone in the Anchorage wastelands,
where he would release the hostage. Preliminary scans indicated he was indeed
alone aside from one civilian observer, Sewage Shark. Thus, I agreed.
Welder Fox,
with Sewage's assistance, returned to the ship. He requires extensive
treatment, but the medical bay has informed me that he will make a full
recovery. Static Hawk's reason for turning Maverick appears to be
dissatisfaction with his lack of career advancement in the Repliforce.
Continuing
this illogical emotional reasoning, He wished to duel me in order to 'prove
himself'. I attempted to apprehended him in order to bring him to trial. I
failed. Sewage Shark, returning from seeing officer Fox to safety, was caught
in Static Hawk's maelstrom as well after attempting to combat the Maverick.
Static Hawk is currently at large, and likely with the Coalition. All of his
codes have been revoked, and he is now to be treated as a dangerous enemy. Any
inquiries should be directed to the medical bay, where I will be undergoing
repairs.
