[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Commander
Storm Owl reporting.
I've returned to the Fortress V to deal with some paperwork.
If anyone needs
to speak with me, I'll be onboard
for the next several hours before
returning to
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Mercurial Mongoose transmits,
"Welcome back, sir!"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Singularity Shrike transmits, "I'm
back too!"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Singularity Shrike transmits, "I
need a couple of parts
replaced..."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Munitions Ifrit transmits,
"Thrilling. Has anyone seen
my Backgammon set?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel casualy.
"That reminds me. We're under attack.
The upper deck has been breached, battlestations."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Singularity Shrike transmits,
"What?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "Did I
stutter?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Munitions Ifrit transmits, "Oh
thrilling. I'm in the
teleporter room."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Singularity Shrike can be heard rushing
toward the
upper deck, despite the medic's
protest.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray transmits, "...What
the heck?! There
better be hot intruders if this is
a drill."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Munitions Ifrit clomps across the
floor. The door
opening is heard.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray transmits, "Actually,
if this ISN'T a
drill, that would be nice
too."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Sir, we've
gotten no readings in
loss of air pressure anywhere on
the ship. Are you certain?"
[Radio: (D) Joint-Chat] Zero starts breathing heavily into
the mic.
[Radio: (D) Joint-Chat] Ebullition transmits,
"..."
[Radio: (D) Joint-Chat] Ebullition transmits,
"Whut."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel whoop
whoop alarm sounds. "Relitivly."
[Radio: (D) Joint-Chat] Axl heheheheheh.
[Radio: (D) Joint-Chat] Blues transmits, "Zilch... if
you and Colonel need a
room..."
[Radio: (D) Joint-Chat] Zero transmits, "HUNTERS! ATTACK!"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Ah, I
believe I understand. Our
rules of engagement, sir? What
level of force should we use?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Rush Raccoon transmits, "For for
the love of..."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "I believe the
boundries are
obvious, Commander. So long as they do not die."
[Radio: (D) Joint-Chat] Rush Raccoon transmits,
"Zero."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Understood,
sir."
[Radio: (D) Joint-Chat] Rush Raccoon transmits, "I Hate
you. <3"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Colonel: You say, "Is
this frequency
secure?"
[Radio: (D) Joint-Chat] Kraft transmits, "For
[Radio: (D) Joint-Chat] Colonel transmits, "Repliforce,
escourt the Maverick
Hunters off of our ship. What
condition they are in is unimportant, though I
am told they sue-happy if all parts
are not accounted for."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Colonel says,
"Speak."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "All hands,
initiate invasion
protocols. Our main points of
defense are the bridge and engineering."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Berkana transmits, "Please attempt
to keep the noise
down outside."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "I do not
recall giving anyone an
option. Respond to the invasion or
respond to me afterwards."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Colonel: You say, "I
realize this may be a
touchy subject, but I feel I must
ask: How hard should we try? The crew and
I have several protocols for preventing this ship from
falling into enemy
hands that have proven very
effective in the past, but rely on the element
of surprise. Should we employ them
should it be needed, or should we refrain
from letting the Hunters become
aware of our tactics? In the event of this
ever becoming a real
scenario."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Berkana transmits, "Securing the
reserach and
development wing."
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Colonel says, "Which is
entierly why I am
having the Repliforce engage the
Hunters personaly. I want to test my
soldiers, not my ship."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Munitions Ifrit transmits, "Uh.. Sirs.. This..
Looks
like some kind of giant.. Prank.. I think someone in the Hunters is panty
happy.."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "That is
facinating."
Fortress V - Upper Deck
The upper
decks of the Fortress V are bright with natural light, the
windows atop the ship allowing in
sun and moonlight to give a more organic
feel to the area. This is where the
brains of the Repliforce meet and think,
carrying out experiments and
creating new reploids, as well as repairing the
wounded that are bound to crop up
in war. The teleporters sit in the rear of
this area, providing a ready link
from Repliforce to the rest of the world.

OHSHIBOWLINGBALL!
The spear
clatters to the deck as Sing thrusts out both hands to
palm the incoming bowling ball. He
braces up, both feet on the floor for
extra traction while he does his
darnedest to drain the momentum from the
ballistic bowling ball. He skids
and skitters across down the hallway from
the sheer force of the porjectile,
as Kraft's toilet paper roll drapes over
his face. He 'AUGHS!' as he
staggers back, his concentration broken, causing
him to slam into the bulkhead. He
slumps to the floor, but has the ball in
his mitts. He tries to regain his
footing, but seems a bit woozy. He's in
need of a decent recharge...
Blues has arrived.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Rush Raccoon transmits, "Kick
thier ass *hic*Folks.
*hic*"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Colonel: You say, "So
we should not deploy
these protocols?"
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Colonel says, "Not
unless absolutely
nessicary."
Storm Owl has been back on the ship for all of fifteen
minutes. He's been in
Storm Owl was confused at first when he was ordered back for
several hours
of paperwork, but now it's all
beginning to make sense. The crew at least
seemed pleased to have their
Commander back for several hours. Storm Owl had
been on the command bridge shaking
hands and checking up on the state of his
ship when Colonel announced the
drill.
Owl's bridge crew are
professionals and they respond like it. Every
mech is at their station, and Storm
Owl and his XO, Comm Bat, are
immediately at the internal
security station along with several security
chiefs. The station consists of a
holo-map of the Fortress V, with automatic
updating of enemy locations as
reports come in from other parts of the ship.
Currently Storm Owl is speaking quietly with Colonel
concerning just how
hard RF should try. Owl has aces up
his sleeve for this sort of thing and
he'd rather not reveal them. Never
know when a scenario like this might
become the real deal.
[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Colonel: You say,
"Understood."
What? Invasion? Oh snap! Prismatic
launches himself out of R&D, the door
sealing behind him as he tumbles
behind a potted plant and begins scanning
the area, picking out DIRTY
INVADING HUNTER TARGETS. From behind his back,
he pulls out six large,
intimidating-looking pistols, one for each hand.
Things are in a state of "mild panic" aboard the
Fortress V as the
Repliforcers stomp to respond the the sudden Maverick Hunter
charge.
Colonel's ambiguity about the sceneario has led soldiers to
stand by the
entry ports, doors, and other
important choke points, kneeling down behind
heavy S.T.A.R.S. quality riot
shields while aiming whatever weaponry they
posess at the vigilanties. Some are
laughing, some are coldly determined,
some are muttering about the time
the Hunters made war "for reals" on the
Repliforce.
The Colonel is positivly grinning-at least, until the doors
to the Skydeck
open with a hiss, and other people
can see him. The cold, rigid second in
command of the Repliforce has his
hands claped behind his back, and his cape
draped over the majority of his
form. He has instructed his soldiers over
the radio, and their sluggish
reluctance has been noted.
Kanissa
then begins stomping forward, bizarrly casual about the whole
thing-he pulls his red right hand
out from under his cape and, as he walks,
it shifts and twists until becoming
the hilt of a beam sabre. "Zero." is all
he says as the weapon roars to
life.
Munitions Ifrit shakes confusion for a second or two. This
was just plain
stupid. "Alright, that's
enough with the panties. Bizzare as it is." Hmm He
starts sprinting, through some of
this mess, to take a position to secure
the bridge doors. He might get hit
with a bowling ball, but that wouldn't be
anything special.
"Sorry,
Singularity!" shouts Axl.
The kid
stretches the panties in his hand, still smiling cheesily,
and then slams forward in a rush
through the upper level. His head-gem,
strangely, blinks on, glowing
brightly, as do his eyes for a second. But the
gem remains 'on'. He's definately
recording this for later amusement.
Running past
the downed Shrike, Axl proceeds to snap the underwears
over at some riot-shielded
reploids, then, pushing himself forward, tucks
into a roll and tumbles down the
hall.
Rubbing her temples in annoyance, Berkana starts the long,
slow process of
shutting down her experiements,
tidying up her work, securing important
documents, making data backups, and
generally getting ready for the typical
lock-down procedures. Her work
completed, she frowns and opens her door,
stepping out into the research and
development wing.
There's
another person who has just arrived near the bridge.
Unfortunately for Storm Owl and his crew, it's not a
'friendly'
classification. Blues has a fair
knowledge of the layout of the ship from
being on it in the past, so when
this little exercise started he knew
exactly where to go.
And that's to
the hallway door just outside of the bridge. One of
the problems with area-specific
anti-blink tech is that there are inevitably
holes in it. Protoman makes use of
this to teleport just outside the bridge
doors and smirk.
A half second
later Blues blows open the doors. To either side of
him in the hallway are the two
reploid guards who had the misfortune of
spotting Protoman. Doubtless they
got off an alarm to the bridge crew even
before Blues blew in the doors.
Kraft steps in the opposite directiong to face Prismatic
Spider, he throws
two plied quilted death at the
Spider, he yells "Tally-ho!" as the toilet
paper flies through the air.
Part of
this is exhilrating! Maybe he can see why Thomas enjoyed it so much!
Kraft strikes Prismatic Spider with his Grasp attack.
Michael Eildath ducks and runs, heading down the hall as
fast as his legs
will carry him. He has other plans
in mind... yes...
Zero whirls his sabre in front of him defensively, hopping
over Sing and
sliding into the hallway behind
Axl, letting his young friend take point.
"Nice shot," he says appreciatively to Axl, the
grin on his face spreading
as he runs....and then screeches to
a halt, turning his head toward Colonel
as the Repliforcer speaks his name.
"....oh
yes, let's," he says, then raises his green sabre
up in a salute.
With a roar, Zero takes several running steps toward
Repliforce's 2-I-C,
snapping a light kick at the taller
Reploid's chops.
"Colonel,"
he says calmly. "You're looking well."
Zero strikes Colonel with his Gearing Up attack.
Axl's apology
goes completely ignored. He gets up, shakes he head
once or twice, and stares daggers
at the young Hunter. Did we mention that
Sing is getting a bit cranky? Normally, something like this
might have
gotten a chuckle.
That was
before Sing spent the last two weeks helping
itself back together in the
aftermath of Sigma's final rampages. He's seen
more than a few lives wrecked, and
while he's tried to keep a positive
attitude about things, it's hard to
keep himself in that kind of environment
for that long without /some/ kind
of venting.
Axl just
volunteered. He brings up a fist, with twitches in barely
controlled anger.
"I am
sick...and /tired/ of this crap..."
And then he
dashes after Axl, trying to bring the youngest son of
Cossack to the decks...maybe to punch the brat in the
face...
Protoman is someone Storm Owl and his crew
are automatically trained to
think of in this circumstances.
After several moments of chatting with
Colonel, Storm Owl finally closes the link and says,
"We are not going to be
employing our emergency
protocols," he tells the others huddled around the
security monitor. He doesn't even
need to explain why, as Storm Owl has
drilled the mistrust of the Hunters
into each of them.
The Fortress
V's XO, Comm Bat, squints and leans over the holo-FV as
a red blip appears, "There's
our favorite mech now," he says. Indeed, the
guards in the hallway have reported
Protoman's presence. Comm Bat appears
nervous. He was promoted back when
the flagship's previous executive
officer, Smashy Koala, was killed
in action by Mirror Orange. Since then
he's had a pretty easy time of
things. This is more or less his first test.
"Looks like he's coming straight for
the bridge."
One of the
security chiefs begins muttering into his radio,
directing Repliforce soldiers to
both intercept Blues before he gets here,
and to begin following his trail.
With luck they can get him in a crossfire.
Dash arrives from the Teleportation Area--Fortress V.
Dash has arrived.
The rolls of TP smack into Prismatic, his leafy cover doing
him no good.
"Arg! I am smitten!"
Prismatic cries out, falling to the ground... And
rolling up and launching towards
The Cheesiest Investment Banker Alive.
"It's good to see you again, James. Or shall I call you
Kraft?" Prismatic
twirls his cane, entering a
fencing-style stance with it and executing
several flashy flourishes with it
before thrusting out at the armored man.
"Ho! Ha-ha! Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin! Ha! Thrust!"
Prismatic Spider strikes Kraft with his Cane Prod attack.
Spiral Pegasus arrives from the Teleportation Area--Fortress
V.
Spiral Pegasus has arrived.
The doors open to the Turbolift to reveal Jet Stingray. With the big gun. Of
course, the serious moment is
swiftly ruined by the actions of Kraft,
getting the roll of paper thrown
over him. While not to the extend of Sing,
Jet too has some minor issues with the attack. Mostly for
letting Blues come
on and a raid so soon after
Fortress attack. While Jet is willing to forgive
like he did the Hunters for
incidents based, sometimes it takes time for the
time to reploid to get over it. And
not enough time has past quite yet.
That being
said, Jet merely looks toawrd Kraft. "Harhar," Jet replies before
casting down his big gun to pull
out his custom plasma handgun shaped like
the animal he was made after,
firing a couple of DEATH LASERS out of it with
1950s sound effects included.
Jet Stingray strikes Kraft with his Sting Ray attack.
Soul Nightshade arrives from the Turbolifts.
Soul Nightshade has arrived.
Kraft is hit with a cane, and then Jet pops out of nowhere
and strikes him.
He's not quick to move as he wasn't expecting actual force.
"Hrmph, you wish
to fight, very well." he hefts
the cannon in one hand, and pulls up a small
pistol in the other. He fires at
Prismatic, while Firing low power shots
from the cannon at Jet Stingray.
"Then give it all you got!" he yells. Kraft
is ready!
Kraft strikes Jet Stingray with his Laser Pistol Strafe
attack.
Kraft misses Prismatic Spider with his Laser Pistol Strafe
attack.
The riot guards blink as two of their number
are bepantied. These guys are
fairly new, yet, and the sheer
bizarreness of some weapons of the robot wars
are still being revealed to them.
One just kind of sits there in shock...and
another guard screeches "Its a
bomb!" and tugs the underwear off of her
head, throwing it in a nearby
potted plant and emptying her phase rifle's
entire clip. Her partner holds back
a manly sob, on account of the potted
plant being his.
As for
Colonel, he seems to not be paying attention to the Repliforce's
preformance. This is incorrect-not
to mention that the entire reaction is
being carefuly monitored, despite
the "Maverick Hunter Attack." and "Bridge
Breached" messages being echoed throughout the ship in
addition to the
general alarm. Oh, and there's the
whole 'Zero kicking at you.'
thing-Colonel is suprised Zero's
going with a kick attack, and quickly
douses his sabre, bringing that arm
up to block...and is kicked in the face
for his efforts. The Colonel
struggles with his jaw muscles...seeming to be
trying to shove Zero back down
through the sheer power of his face...and,
bizarrely, for a heartbeat or two,
it looks like it might work, jaw and leg
struggling for dominance!
"Thank
you." Then, Colonel moves his arm, stomps his leg, and strafes to the
side, falling back a few steps as
Zero gets a chance to land. There is one
other key difference-Colonel's
sabre is ignited again, and the World's
Greatist Soldier pulls his sword arm up to point at the
Berserker. "...you
look like hell."
Zero deflects Insulting Facecut from Colonel.
Munitions Ifrit is beaten to the punch. Someone blinked in
front of him, a
good few feet. And he skids in an
attempt to avoid barreling into the grey
scarfed bomber. The doors were
blasted, he was skidding. No brakes! Argh!
Get out of the way!
*WHACK*
Axl was
barreling past, but is thrown off-course by a smack against
his face. With a grunt, the new-gen
reploid goes smashing into the
metal-plated wall. It's hardly
dented more than he is, as he flips up and
rubs at his face. "Owww! What was that for!"
Nonetheless,
he sticks his tongue out and, while the guards are
distracted, Axl pushes his way in
through toward the lifts.
Destination:
Colonel's room.
Zero snorts in reply, dropping out of a combat stance and
placing his left
hand on his hip, right hand down at
his side. "Bitch, please," he says
softly, shaking his head. Almost at
once, tiny sparkles of light seem to
shine out from his swaying blonde
ponytail as he raises his left hand to his
helmet, pretending to stroke his
hair back. "You /know/ I make this look
good."
Zero strikes Colonel with his Looking Good attack.
The Spider Scientist tumbles to the side, the laser blasts
streaking past
him. "Not
bad, Kraft. But if you insist, I certainly will!" Prismatic thumbs
a hidden catch on the cane, and a
high-speed rotating cutter blade slides
outwards, a high-pitched whine
echoing through the air as he dashes in and
attempts to drag it across Kraft as
he passes by. He's seen Kraft's
technique, he'll have to result to
wolfpack tactics.
"I
never did get the chance to thank you for stopping Fianait, did I? We
really do appreciate it."
Prismatic Spider strikes Kraft with his Such Wonderful Toys
attack.
Sing narrows
his optics at Axl, before trying to cement the kid in
his tracks...
...by making his feet too heavy for his legs. That...might
not feel
good.
"No no, Axl. /Stay/. Answer
for this."
"Wish to fight? Well, that is a loaded word that would
take waaaay too long
to explain, so I think I'll just do
this...." Of course, considering Prism
is fighting upclose and person, Jet
doesn't expect Kraft to hear, but that's
okay! Jet kneels down as he puts
his side arm down and takes his BIG gun out
in order to aim it right for Kraft,
taking some time to line up the shot.
The bullets dig into his chest armor, but Jet is far from
phased, just still
in the lift as he prepares to fire
a nice honking blast of plasma right for
Kraft.
Jet Stingray forfeits a turn to charge WE.
When Protoman
was told about this just a short while ago, he was
skeptical. Specifically
with his involvement with the field exercise. He
doubts very highly that Repliforce
has forgotten what he's done to the
Fortress V in the recent past, so he's going in with a fair
bit of
alertness.
Protoman
doesn't waste time, he knows that whoever is on the
Bridge
is going to be warning people and
dispatching units. So instead of running
across the hallway that leads to
the Bridge, Blues teleports. Anti-Blink
fields are great like that. They
keep you out, but if you make it across the
field barrier, you can teleport
within.
Just like that
Blues is at the door to the Bridge itself now. The
two guards at this end keep him
occuppied for the moment though, so he's
unable to bust through onto the
bridge. But anyone on the bridge would hear
the telltale sounds that Blues is
at the gate.
(His barbarian
horde isn't too far behind either.)
Axl's a bit
too fast this time -- but, at least for Sing the Hunter
stops temporarily to say something:
"Hey, watch out!" He flings a couple of
magnetic nails out from a subspace
pocket, sticks it through a few of the
more frilly-looking panties, then
lets them attach themselves to the nearest
metallic thing -- Singularity.
Michael Eildath heads on down the hall. Having other,
burlier Hunters around
as a distraction is good, as Mike left
the Desperado at home. Unlike some,
he decided to look nonthreatening.
How nonthreatening Michael actually is to
the average person is left as an
exercise to the player. Unimpeded, Mike
barges through one of the access
doors leading down and slides down a
ladder, heading for the lower
levels.
Kraft drops the pistol, for now. (he
can always pick up another one), this
is, indeed, getting stupid. He
presses a button on the back of the cannon.
Non-leathal ammo. This is, as
Micheal put it, looking too much like a 'real'
fight, not just friendly practice,
so he shields his eyes and shoots a flash
bomb into the air! It explodes,
sending a blinding light out.
Kraft strikes Prismatic Spider with his Flash Bomb attack.
Prismatic Spider is temporarily disoriented by Kraft's Flash
Bomb attack.
Kraft strikes Jet Stingray with his Flash Bomb attack.
Jet Stingray is temporarily disoriented by Kraft's Flash
Bomb attack.
Sing growls as
he charges in at Axl again, seemingly heedless of the
magnetic nails. It should be noted
that Sing's mostly plastic, due to the
anti-grav generator he houses. He
doesn't pretend to get it either, but the
nails start to home for the metal
parts he /does/ have in his head. The
nails are slammed into the nearby
walls as Sing fires up his barriers to
keep the sharp pointy objects away
from his brainmeats. That'd hurt,
otherwise.
Sing barrels
down on Axl a second time, at very dangerous speeds
when you consider he's indoors...
Not everybody
down here is going crazy to the fight. Dash has been
reacting with non-lethal force --
as ordered -- by securing other decks.
Looks like he doesn't wanna have to choose sides, even if
he's more or less
already had sides chosen. He's a
deck beneath, in fact. "Make sure all of
the security gates are sealed! Come
on! If we let Colonel down, he's gonna
be /really angry/--" he says,
jogging and whipping any other RF and STARS
folks into action. He's also,
coincidentally, right beneath Michael Eildath
as he starts to descend.
Prismatic's optics are overloaded by the bright light, the
entire area
bursting into shards of refracted
rainbows as the flashbomb explodes.
Prismatic reels, trying to cover his eyes so he can
readjust... "Ugh...
Can't we go talk this over at Ruby's or something?"
Munitions Ifrit skids, feet slipping on the floor. A small
puddle can be
blamed later. The immeidate problem
begins when he collides with the bridge
door. A loud repurcussion like that
of a gong resounds in the hall near him,
and the door sensors, slow in
noticing that he was there, open and he falls
forward with a thump, half in and
half out of the bridge. Just a little bit
dazed.
Michael Eildath isn't looking where he's going. He crashes
right into Dash,
sending both of the sprawling onto
the floor, Michael tucking and rolling,
quickly getting back up to his
feet. "Hey... watch where you're walking!"
Storm Owl's entire bridge crew's attention is drawn to the
sounds of combat
outside. "Five seconds slower
than our estimates guessed," Comm Bat quips,
trying to hide his nervousness.
He's a relatively young officer for such an
important position. Storm Owl
however is already directing the crew to take
up defensive stations. Protoman
will find the bridge a virtual fortress (no
pun intended) to breach, and once
inside there are dozens of crossfire
positions where defenders can shoot
at an intruder. The bridge consists of
several split-floors consisting of
several levels. The bridge is big and
spawling. Each soldier knows full
well that the intruder can blink and is
ready for the old
turn-180-and-shoot-really-fast trick (blink users
traditionally have poor
imaginations with their blink systems, and are all
fond of the same damn maneuver).
One femme at a
station taps several keys into the computer, locking
out command access unless a code is
given. We don't want the ship falling
out of the sky AGAIN due to
Protoman in the middle of a firefight. Most of
the people here are veterans when
it comes to the bridge being invaded,
having been here both when Hien
attacked and Blue Mirage's forces attacked.
"Twenty
of us versus one of him?" one of the security chiefs
mutters, "It's payback time
for this bitch."
Spiral Pegasus had returned from a short flight around the
territory and was
on his way up when he heard the
scuffle a few decks above, "What in the
world..?" quizzed the
Pegacion. The hallways were hustling and bustling so
it was no large effort to halt a
fellow Repliforcer and get a situation
report. "Ah..
is that so.. well then I hope
they brought a parachut.."
Spiral commented befor he himself ventured towards the frey.
Jet Stingray seems to just give a soft stream of cursing as
his optics are
painfully blinded, a tribute the
one that trained him to use that massive
sniper canon he has slung over his
shoulder. He just stays his position,
figuring that he doesn't have much
to worry about from where he is. While he
can be blinded, he figures that
Prism will be the primary target since he's
closer. If he
isn't? Well, not much he can do on that now, can he?
"Oh! Hi!
You're--Oh, drat," Dash says. The game has
crashed right
down onto his head, after all.
"I'm really sorry about this, but I'm more
scared of Colonel than I am of
you," he explains, quickly. "So you'd better
stop, or I'm gonna have to try and
stop you!"
Shield Shellfish arrives from the Teleportation
Area--Fortress V.
Shield Shellfish has arrived.
Michael Eildath grins. "You don't know me very well.
Might want to look me
up later, and you'll change your
mind." He turns a pair of panties into a
makeshift slingshot, thwipping them
at Dash and taking off for the hangar
deck.
Kraft looks to Prism. He looks to Jet. "I am not
Thomas." he merely says
sternly. He reaches down, picks up
his TP, he picks up his Laser Pistol, and
he begins to depart back the way he
came.
Kraft retreats from the area swiftly, leaving him open to
pursuit or parting
shots from Zero, Storm Owl,
Colonel, Blues, Axl, Berkana, Shield Shellfish,
and Munitions Ifrit.
Kraft goes home.
Kraft has left.
Colonel blinks, as his sword is deflected by Zero's hair. He
blinks again.
Kanissa's jaw clenches, and he storms over to Zero, fists
clenched, looking
like a cross between his usual
Perfect Soldier Swordsman self and a little
kid who just got his sand castle
kicked over. "Our creators allowed Iris
some leisure time during her
training and development. Her favorite hobby
ended up being collecting old 21st
century television programs-I believe it
is Hunter policy to be familiar
with most of them in order to decipher Dr.
Wily's addiction to references."
"'
then rears back his left hand, and
attempts to punch Zero in the face.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits,
"Status report."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Dash transmits, "Um, one of the
Hunters is on the lower
levels. Non-modified human, I
think."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Munitions Ifrit transmits, "Ouh
mah noz."
Long distance to Blues: Storm Owl nods.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel patiently,
"Then /stop/ him."
When someone
faster than an airplane slams into someone who's only a
bit faster than the average
reploid, that equals quite a bit of pain. The
impact pounds a heavy dent into
Axl's light chassis, and with a shout, the
kid spins all the way into the wall
of the lift, which Jet may or may not be
nearby. He does not look near the
flash at all, being busy being plowed into
and all.
*crack*
"Ow ...
this is getting crazy. Hold still!" Enough is enough -- Axl
doesn't want to make enemies, but
it's still getting annoying and dangerous
when all he wanted to do was make
funny pranks. Out comes one of his pistols
-- this time, his gem, both the
head and chest, glow brightly, light
funneling down his arm and
channeling down to the gun. Sprawled out on the
floor and aimed up, Axl squeezes
his eyes shut and directs a coruscating
ball of energy toward Sing.
Axl strikes Singularity Shrike with his Copy Shot attack.
Axl drains energy from Singularity Shrike.
Singularity Shrike is temporarily disoriented by Axl's Copy
Shot attack.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits, "Is
the confrontation
limited to this area?"
"Hey!
Hang on!" Dash says, filtering internally through a long list
of basically lethal weaponry. For
such a nice man, the only non-painful
weapons that Dash happens to have
are a water gun and a menacing claw-gun.
He tries to grab Eildath by his clothes. Anything
to delay him, really.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Dash transmits, "He's really fast.
I don't think I can
catch up to him, even if I use my
jet skates. Not enough room to navigate
down here."
Prismatic Spider blinks, his sight returning... to see Kraft
stalking off.
"Odd." He shakesh is head. "I don't remember
ever calling him Thomas..." He
glances over to Jet. "Do you
remember anything like that?" He sighs,
shrugging as he turns away,
snagging up those pistols he dropped to chase
after another target.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Rush Raccoon transmits, "Alright. Enough of this."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel ahem.
Rush Raccoon arrives from the Turbolifts.
Rush Raccoon has arrived.
Michael Eildath gahs as Dash grabs his jacket, Mike
shrugging out of it,
spinning out of his grasp as he
continues his path down the hall. "Keep the
jacket!
something." He flips Dash the
peace sign and speeds on.
Sing does this
funny little hop as the shot slams into him. He
grunts, before dropping to the
deck, stunned by the shot. He holds his chest
as he flops onto the deck, staring
at the cieling.
Something in
his torso shorts out, and Sing as a result is going
nowhere...
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Singularity Shrike grunts, and can be
heard slamming
onto the deck.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Storm Owl
reporting. Protoman has
been spotted outside of the command
bridge. Taking up positions to repel
him."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "The orders are
not difficult. The
Hunters are on our ship. We get them off our ship. The fact
that I have had
to repeat this so many times means
you all need retraining, but final
conclusions will be made."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "*after the
confrontation."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Rush Raccoon transmits, "Oh Belive
me, now that I'm
back on ship, this is ending right
now."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Rush Raccoon emits a wicked grin that you literarly
can hear.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Dash transmits, "I can't get
him... Sorry, guys."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Dash transmits, "I'm going to keep
locking down the
place."
Zero grins and drops down low, avoiding the punch and then
fading to his
right. "Which
Johnny Carson? It makes a big difference, you know."
The red-armoured
Hunter's blade begins to whir in a series of rolling strokes
as he makes
several slashing feints toward
various of the Colonel's body parts. He also
places his left hand overtop of his
head gem.
"General's
butt," he says in a terrible impersonation. "Iris's hand, and my
fist." Zero feints one last
time toward COlonel's stomach, then drives a
wicked punch toward his face.
"What are three things your lips have tasted!
Ha ha! Ha ha! Good one, Johnny! Thanks, Ed."
All the way up to the Bridge Level. The Turbo lifts goes up
that high. Rush
Raccoon has arrived. Protoman is here. Thats
all he needs to know. He
arrived via a Shuttle from the
Valkyrie. He rides the Turbolift past the
doors of fighting to the Bridge
section. It opens. He arrives to a blown out
door. The hell?
In any case, he strides in. This doesn't look like play to
him. Not at all.
Colonel deflects Hilt Punch Feint from Zero.
Spiral Pegasus came thunking around the bend to see Dash
declothing a none
other then Michael Eildath,
"Well well. what have we here. Not so fast
Hunter!" called out Spiral as he took up a steady
stance, blocking off as
much of the corridor as he could
with his
the air and creating a heavy wind
to slow the human hunter down.
Long distance to Shield Shellfish and Blues: Storm Owl
personally does not
mind. And yeah, we're here so we
can see everyone's poses and they can see
ours.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Spiral Pegasus transmits, " Don't worry Dash. I can
take him."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits,
"Reporting to bridge. I owe
that son of a b****."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "Go for
the knees. Humans
dont need knees to breathe."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] There are a few scattered cheers from
the crew at
Shellfish's words.
Axl's optics
flicker open again once the energy sucks in through
Singularity, rebounds, and then is absorbed back into his
gems, which flash
brilliantly. The kid looks slightly
blank for a moment -- but he gets his
senses back, and, knowing that the
bird will wake up soon enough, high-tails
it as much as he can to the lift.
He presses a
button.
*whrrrrr*
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel makes a mental note.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Rush Raccoon transmits, "Very Well
Shellfish I'm
already well on my way there. See
you there."
Sing, oddly,
stays down. He doesn't look too good...
This is an
incredible security breach -- nevermind that it was an
'agreed-upon' exercise. The Hunters are on the Fortress V
and non-lethal
force has been advised. They can
run rampant, collect information for future
use, place devices... if they had
any hostile intent, and Shield Shellfish
assumes /everyone/ has hostile
intent, then this must be a field day for the
Hunters.
But the
bodyguard is no longer in the Logistics division -- has, in
fact, dropped all but the most
essential of her responsibilities. When she
is not on bodyguard duty in
in the most dire of moods or hiding
in one of her private getaways. She is
nothing more than a regular soldier
now, with no official say in how
defenses ought to be run. Hearing
the radio reports, she is forced to admit
to herself that no, in fact
Repliforce can /not/ handle itself without her.
So she has stalked towards the Bridge, where Protoman is
reported to be.
She owes him.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Defibrilator Deflatermaus says,
"Lt. Nightshade?
Shellfish is engaging in combat."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "....$^!. Medbay, Code Pink!
This is not a drill. I repeat, not a drill!"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "Prep
the surgical shotguns
and tazers."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits,
"Medbay, follow those
orders and you're next."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Mercurial Mongoose transmits,
"Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn."
As the Stingray of Justice gets his sight back, he sees that
Kraft as gone
off. He just calls out to Prism.
"I have no idea what he is-" Suddenly the
doors close and Jet looks over
toward Axl, the flash having let Axl go by.
He heard the thud, but he just thought that he was under
fire. As he looks
toward Axl and there is a second or
two where he just stares at the Hunter.
He doesn't attack, just staring. "I've missed the
punchline if I'm supposed
to be laughing," he offers in
an unamused tone, his tail flickering about
from side to side.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits,
"Threaten my medbay and I'll
leave you to scrap, madam."
Munitions Ifrit shakes his head, recovering from his daze
and getting on his
feet. This now puts him in the
bridge proper. And he's moving once more.
better to guard the critical
controls and see how the bridge defenses handle
this.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "If you
think I jest, try to
get repaired after your next
foolish errand."
Colonel's stance nmoves like water, the fienting energy
blades crackling off
of eachother as the two swordrobots
poke and point at each other's potential
weaknesses. This, Colonel reflects,
is the most natural form of
communication I know. I am more
comfortable doing this than I am having a
conversation with an aquaintence at
a bar.
"The one from the makeover show." Colonel says-he
lets his left wrist hang a
little limp, in case Zero /still/
doesn't get the joke. His jaw clenches at
the insinuation about his
Commander, and the Colonel's hand shoots up...
...catching Zero's punch. "Iris never had to slap
/me/." Colonel points out,
and deciding that its time to stop
beating around the bush, sends a
lightning fast sabre slash at
Zero's torso! Or anywhere else he can hit.
Colonel strikes Zero with his Now I Am The
Master attack.
Prismatic Spider charges down the halls. He heard Sing fall,
and he brings
up the pistols just in time to see
Axl hit the lift. they fire several
times, the bullets splattering
across the front as the lift begins to
descend... Splattering? Oh, they're
paintball pistols!
Prismatic
doesn't miss a beat, calling down to Engineering. <Engage remote
emergency stop on lift
one-four-six!> Hopefully they'll respond in time so
Prismatic can catch up to the speedy Hunter. Sing will get
back up... He
thinks.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish does not respond, having
used
Shellfish Rage for the next hour of game time.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits,
"Emergency stop on 146
engaged, Commander."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray speaks in a cool tone.
"Shield, this is
NOT the time to be threatening bodily harm on other
Repliforcers. Cool it or
so help me, I'll pull out an Anthem
style punishment and teach you to fear
the oldies."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits,
"Fear?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits,
"Define 'fear', sir. It
does not appear to be in my
internal database."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray transmits, "It will
be. It will be."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "Cute."
Zero whistles - either Colonel's getting faster, he's
getting slower, or...
"Urk," the Hunter grunts, tearing his hand away as
he takes a cut along the
left wide, spinning with the blow
to try and lessen the damage.
A third
possibility opens itself up to him - it is possible he could
concentrate a little more on smack
and a little less on talk.
"It
wasn't a slap I was looking for," he grunts, continuing the rotation
again, roaring as he whips his leg
around in a high, spinning circle, the
foot blazing with energy as he
drives the kick toward the side of Colonel's
head.
Zero misses Colonel with his Plasma Spiral Kick attack.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "Fear
is that thing
Deflautermaus displays when you come into medbay to be restrained."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Munitions Ifrit transmits,
"Hmm."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits,
"Noted, lieutenant."
There's an
extremely high pitched whine from behind the Bridge doors
for about ten seconds. A few
seconds later, the door to the bridge explodes
inwards, sending shrapnel and
debris all across the bridge.
Unfortunately,
the reploid who just called Blues a bitch gets a
piece of shrapnel to the head. He's
not dead, far from it, but the boy is
definitely out cold now as he falls
back and hits the ground. "Lucccyyyy!
I'm home!" Blues says, he knows that Repliforce is
going to come at him in
force on this.
Afterall, he's
had some experience with blowing this ship before.
With Blues attitude he's trying to make it apparent he's not
going to go
blowing the hell out of anyone
today. But the moment the dust settles from
the explosion of the door, Blues
realizes he's in for a whole other
situation. 20+
odds to one. Normally this wouldn't worry him, but they're
well positioned.
So Blues waste
no time and ducks down to the side of the door before
he spots the place where the one
reploid went down. They may be use to
normal blink tactics, but Blues has
written the book on the subject.
The moment
he's behind the little barricade the reploid had setup as
one of the crossfire points, Blues
hefts up the unconscious kid, using him
as a shield for his own body.
"I'll
make this simple. Drop your weapons and leave the bridge."
Blues is a
bastard when it comes to 'any tactics necessary to win.'
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits,
"Nonlethal force?"
Sing looks up
at Prismatic. If he'd have thought Sing was drinking,
it'd look like he was hung over.
Knowing Sing doesn't drink, Prismatic can
figure that was not the case. He
has a decent scorch mark on his chestplate.
"...sir?
What...?" Sing shakes his head a couple of times before
standing up. He wobbles a bit when
he gains his footing, sort of.
"...doesn't matter. We need to kick these f***heads off
our ship."
At least he
can talk a good fight...
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits,
"Kneecaps and nosebleeds,
Shield."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "'s jaw
clenches, "As in 'We are not
killing them.'. Storm Owl, make a note that all Repliforcers are to be up to
standard levels of competancy with
the English language and its commonly
used phrases.""
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Yes
sir."
Paint
splatters off of the lift. Axl looks surprised behind the
transparisteel wall, looking over
at Prismatic. He lifts up and shakes his
finger in the 'uh-uh-uh!' way at
the spider, grinning as the turbolift, true
to its name, descends ... turbo.
Down to the
next level, wherein Axl gets off and it lifts back up to
accept new passengers.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl would get out his highlighter
and start
scribbling all over Shellfish's name,
but alas he's kinda busy. It'll have
to wait.
Prismatic Spider skids to a halt at the lift door, and
mutters. "Dang, he's
too fast. Sing, you go around to
Lift 145 to cut him off. I'll take the
tubes." Turning to the side,
Prismatic enters a code and a hatch hisses
open, revealing an maintenance
hatch. The Spider Scientist hops inside,
sliding downwards along the ladder
until he hits the next floor, where he
opens another hatch and throws
himself out of it, pistols spread. "AXL!
DON'T MOVE!"
Michael Eildath dashes forward as he sees Spiral attacking
him, rolling hard
as he hits the ground, sliding
beneath the pegasus's legs. Grinning, he
chucks a roll of toilet paper over
the Repliforcer... another into the
swirling vortex of wind. He'll let
Spiral do his work for him. "Later!" He
keeps moving.
Sing takes a
few steps, falters for a moment, before dashing to Lift
145. He skids to a halt, as he whips a hand out toward Axl.
There's a
ripple in subspace as a very /large/ cannon drops onto the
'Forcer's shoulder. His optics
narrow as the cannon clamps down onto him. He
waits for the lift doors to open as
the cannon starts to hum.
"This one's not paint. Stand down."

Colonel pulls his arm up, frowning. The whole 'Zero and
Iris' train wreck
was kind of a sore spot for all
three of them, he suddenly realizes. As he
blocks the kick, the Colonel feels
something that he has never really felt
before...
He feels a
little bit like a heel. Oh God, he thinks, I'm emphathizing with
Zero. This must end. Therefore,
Colonel bites back the bitter comment he was
about to make about what, exactly,
Zero wanted from his sister and where
exactly it left him when she was
brainwashed by Dr. Doppler. And a few other
comments.
"Are
you going to kick me all day..." Colonel says
instead, breaking the
block and stepping back, allowing
his internal generators and
shoulder-turbines to begin to
charge up, "...or are we going to /actually/
fight?"
Colonel forfeits a turn to charge WE.
As Axl may notice as he moves off the lift, there is a very
tall, and very
thin bioroid standing in the hall.
Several syringes and explosives are in
his hand, which he holds delicately
as he father drops down nearby. "Don't
do it, Axl. When it comes to
nonlethal and especially painful debilitators,
I have few equals."
Axl twitches
in surprise, looking behind him at the Spider
Scientist. He eyes the hatch. Looks
like the Repliforcers have some
alternate pathways. Quirking his
lip, the reploid still looks vaguely
mischievious ... drawing up a
panty-slingshot into his hand and loading up a
bowling ball into it.
Singularity is
serious about this. Axl turns around again, this time
to face the bird. THEN he turns to
the two bioroids. Surrounded. He blinks,
then shrugs.
"Alright,
guys, you got me ... but can I still prank Colonel's room,
pleeeeeeeeeeease?"
Oh god, puppy
eyes.
Prismatic Spider stands up, and considers for a moment. He
gets a
mischevious glint in his eyes.
"What exactly did you have in mind, Axl?"
Axl might hear the sound of a weapon warming up as he tries
to leave the
turbolift. He would say something,
but he hears Sing's tone. While Jet is
seriously annoyed, it seems like
Sing is even madder than him. Then Soul
appears too. That being said, Jet
just lowers the big gun that he had. No
sense giving a punchline or witty
commentary when the odds are this bad. Of
course, as Prism starts to speak,
Jet just shakes his head and makes his way
back up. Guess that threat is taken
care of.
Spiral Pegasus lets out a surprised Squawk when Elidath
disappeared between
his wide spread legs.
"Slippery little.." he muttered only to be
silenced
once a roll of toilet paper
ricocheted off of his helmet with another one
caught in the air push and sent
scattering all over the corridor. He took a
moment to look over his miswrought
handywork and chew on his lower lip, "Why
you.." he muttered befor he
turned and gave chase.. for a larger machine he
was startling fast, even more so
once his feet left the ground.
"Get
back here!" he calls after the fleeing Hunter.
Soul Nightshade points at his radio, and begins nodding
exaggeratedly.
"Absolutely not, Axl! You may
not bombard the Colonel's cabins with ladies
undergarments!"
Sing's finger
is still on the trigger of the gun that Auto built. He
doesn't glance away, or look at
Prismatic and Soul.
"Get out
of here, Axl. Go back to your Tower, and tell the rest of
your Hunter friends to get the f***
off of our ship."
He's mad. He's
tired of picking up pieces of lives, and he's tired
of the Hunters thinking they can do
as they damn well please, and it's
starting to show...
The gun starts
to crackle omninously...
Prismatic Spider blinks at Sing. "Whoa there, Sing. Are you all right?"
Prismatic, seemingly unconsciously, edges to one side. This
happend to both
give Axl an escape route should he
want to take it, and also puts him out of
the line of fire.
Soul Nightshade looks at Sing. Then at
Axl. "I'd run if I were you, boy. He
looks pissed." murmurs the
bioroid before looking over at Prism. "And if
Prism starts shootin, I'm gonna
like this place up like a christmas tree.
No, best if you just head back for the tower. Go on now,
boy. Git!"
Blues is a bastard when it comes to 'any tactics necessary
to win'. Funny,
Storm Owl's been described in similar terms. Storm Owl
crouches behind his
station at the edge of the command
bridge as the door implodes. The
Repliforcers instinctively duck to avoid any debris sent
hurtling towards
them, however seconds later they're
up getting ready to gun Protoman down.
"Mech down!" Poppy, the
Repliforce gal that normally mans the Operations
station shouts upon seeing one of
the security chiefs get a chunk of debris
in his forehead. She was so freaked
out during the last invasion of this
ship. It doesn't get much easier
knowing it's a drill, she realizes.
Storm Owl
peeks up from behind his station as Blues takes the
trooper hostage. Every crewmember
on this bridge knows what Storm Owl is
going to do. It is of no surprise
to any of them. They expect it. The war
bird aims his fully charged Cyclone
Cannon at Blues and his unconscious
hostage. Without giving Blues any
time to consider just what this means,
Storm Owl unleashes a terrifying blast of compressed air
laced with ionic
energy, sent hurtling across the
command centre. "Offer: Denied!
Counterproposal: Leave this ship in peace or leave it in
pieces!"
By word of
explanation, Storm Owl says of the hostage Protoman took,
"Only one of you is resistant to wind, Protoman, and it
isn't you." Should
Storm Owl's attack successfully get
Proto to drop his hostage, each soldier
on the bridge will take advantage
by unloading on the hated Maverick Hunter.
Rush Raccoon walks past the first busted door. Heels click
across the
ground. What is this? This is going
to take time and money to repair. They
should be fighting Neo-Arcadia...
it's a good thing they did'nt surprise
attack suddenly...
He looks
upahead to see the main bridge door busted. F**K. He strides to the
door slower, laying back to the
side of the wall just beyond the door as he
peeks in. He doesn't move in yet.
Axl grins over
at Prism -- then grins over at Soul.
"Oh, I
can't?" replies the Hunter, sounding faux-disappointed. "Well
... I better go not-bombard his room with ladie's
undergarments, then."
But Sing ...
he'd expected the bird to play along, but apparently
he's too angry. Furrowing his
brows, Axl has only one choice ... he folds
his arms over his chest. His gems
emit a whine, glowing until the Hunter is
surrounded by an orb of whiteness
brimming with twirling DNA soul shards.
The transformation is complete as ANOTHER Singularity Shrike
appears in his
place, whipping out all of the
panties and nails.
He smiles with
his beak. 'Singularity' rushes past his real
counterpart in a burst of speed.
"Better catch yourself!"
Axl changes into his Singularity Shrike armor.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits,
"Uh....Axl just
doppleganger'd SingSing."
Zero sighs and shrugs. The look in his eyes - is it a
grateful
acknowledgement of the Colonel's
chivalry and honour? Gratefulness that the
other man would sense his pain and
draw back from it, his code of honour
(for once) not something Zero would
chafe against.
Maybe. Then again, it's probably just the thought of finally
heating up.
"Well,
if you /insist,/" Zero says, gripping his sword
in both hands, then
dropping into a crouch...and
screaming.
The black
rage, the anger beckons to be used....but this man, despite
everything else, is an ally. Nearly a friend. Zero discards it, takes
another path, and then screams as
his armour begins to shift, a bright,
blinding light blasting out from
his body.
And then
Zero is rushing forward in his Arcadian armour, directing a
diagonal slash at Colonel, snapping
a little cross-cut on the way back, and
then ending the combination with a
hard final blow.
"Hoo-ha-HWAH!"
Zero changes into his Zero Arcadia armor.
Zero misses Colonel with his Triple Slash attack.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray transmits, "...After
you JUST got done
giving the thing about 'master of
non-lethal', you BETTER not let him get
away."
Dash has disconnected.
Michael Eildath throws a glance back at Spiral Pegasus,
grinning broadly.
"Now why would I do that?" He books it down the
hall, arms pumping as he
books it, fishing something out of
his back pocket and dropping it on the
ground. It's a dirty magazine! What
the hell, it worked in Metal Gear Solid.
Mike runs! "Woop! Woop! Woop!"
Prismatic Spider stares. Now Sing's fallen status clicks
into place. "Oh,
snap." Sing can outrun most of
the people in Repliforce, let alone a slow,
groundbound Spider Scientist.
Prismatic levels the pistols at Axl, and
begins firing a barrage of paint at
SingAxl, trying to slow him down.. or
something, before he gets out of
reach.
Munitions Ifrit looks across the bridge, at the consoles,
the crossfire
spots, the hostage.. Wait. Hostage? This was going to become less of a drill
and more of a genuine problem.
There's no time to just make a comment, not
at first. Instead choosing to look
at the dsoor he had used recently. Maybe
he's leaving, even with the blue
glittery effect that takes him in its
grasp. Maybe leaving is a good
thing for him to do. But that is where things
differ. Abandonment is not the best
thing, given that it can come with some
nasty penalties. So instead, after
his body dissolves into energy, the high
pitched hum of his transportation
would alert Blues immeidately to the
presence of this mock-demon behind
him, gun already armed and raised with
its powerup-hum quite clearly
indicating that he isn't going to play these
games. "Drill
or not. Didn't anyone tell you that only cowards take
hostages?" No, no shooting. He
doesn't want to open fire in here if he can
help it.
Sing glances
at Prismatic.
"No. I'm
/NOT/ okay. I am sick and f'ing TIRED of these God-Damned
Hunters thinking they can do as they damn well please. This
is bulls***, and
we all KNOW it!"
This gives Axl
plenty of time to do the thing that Axl does.
Realizing what's to follow, Sing subspaces the Black Bolt,
and turns to give
chase to his Hunter Lookalike...
There's a reason nothing can be behind me, as there's a wall
there. :D"
Soul Nightshade can't tell the two apart as the Sings start
heading down the
hall. Soul looks to Prism and
mouths a quiet 'sorry' before he picks up one
of the gourd-shaped bombs in his
hand, this particular one looking like a
smoking jack-o-lantern. Curling
back like a splitfinger fastball pitcher,
Soul hurls the foggy pumpkin straight for both Sings. When
or if it
connects, a large cloud of ionized
spores will exhume, hopefully clogging
thrusters and slowing down
whichever one is the fake Singularity.
Soul Nightshade strikes Singularity Shrike with his Spore
attack.
Singularity Shrike is temporarily disoriented by Soul
Nightshade's Spore
attack.
Soul Nightshade strikes Axl with his Spore attack.
Axl is temporarily disoriented by Soul Nightshade's Spore
attack.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray transmits, "It seems
that there are more
than enough people handling Axl, I
presume that Colonel won't want help with
Zero even if he needed it... So, how is everything else and
where am I
needed, if anywhere?"
Sing goes down
choking.
This is
something of a new experience for the Bird, as sealed
systems generally makes 'choking' a
moot point. He slams down on the deck,
hard. He's slow trying to get up...
*** SCENE SEPARATION. TRAVEL SPAM TO THE BRIDGE ****
Fortress V - Bridge
The true
brains of the Repliforce Fortress, the bridge is always
bustling with activity as reploids
move in and out, the crew here always
watching out for the systems,
subsystems, and weapons of the might Fortress
V. Comfortable couches with long panels allow the bridge
crew to sit while
commanding the vessel, while other
stations allow people to stand as they
work at them. A combination
transparisteel window/viewscreen rests at the
front of the room, and a large
steering wheel, seemingly taken from a
pirate's vessel, rests in the back
of the room, its purpose seemingly
decorative. Doors here lead to the
offices of Colonel and General, as well
as the ready room.

Shield Shellfish arrives from the Turbolifts.
Shield Shellfish has arrived.
Nonlethal, Shield
Shellfish reminds herself, hearing the whine and
explosion up ahead as Protoman
knocks down the main entryway to the Bridge.
Nonlethal. She has a hard time
restraining herself; the Gatebot has been
short on temper lately, and has
already earned the ire of several other
Repliforcers before even entering this confrontation -- far
from her usual
method, which is usually to say
nothing at all. As for the real issue at
present... there are so many /ways/
to interpret nonlethal. The one she
favours means 'everything except
actual death'. Besides, the Hunters have
that one magical healing chick, so
maybe even /that/ would be technically
okay...
"Code
Pink!" one of the members of the crew yells, which is
immediately followed by a few
scattered cheers. Shell is visible stomping
her way through to the ground level
of the bridge, halting in the doorway as
Blues issues his challenge. When he does -- Shell bullrushes
in a headlong
charge through the doorway. She
knows what the Commander will say. She
sweeps the bridge with her optics
as she charges, heedless of getting caught
in the middle of 'friendly fire';
she can take it. It's more important to
see where /everything/ in the
bridge is. Blues isn't the only one that can
play with blink in here.
Shield Shellfish begins covering Storm Owl.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits,
"...Well. Both Shrikes are
neutralized."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Spiral Pegasus transmits, " Tsk.. He's fast."
Rush Raccoon watches as Shield charges past. *facesmack*
Munitions Ifrit arrives from the Turbolifts.
Munitions Ifrit has arrived.
Protoman was
actually expecting Storm Owl to order rough-precision
shots through the Repliforce
trooper to avoid vital systems and to hit
Blues. But the fact that Owl
decides to send a strong solid gust across the
room right at Blues is enough of to
send the Hunter flying.
He's not sent
back into the Munitions, he and his Repliforce hostage
are instead sent /up/ into the
ceiling. They slam into the ceiling hard,
leaving a sizable indent before
they fall back down to the ground.
"This is
a training exercise, Ifrit... Your enemies won't have any
problems with using hostages so you
/need/ to know how to deal with it," the
Hunter says as he disappears again, this time right behind
the female
reploid not more than three feet
from Storm Owl.
They may be
use to the 'turn-180-and-fire' tactic, but it's
different with Blues. He's the guy
who wrote the book at this, and has a
hell of a lot more precision than
the rest of the blink users out there. So
he appears litterally two inches
from the girl and has one arm around her
throat with the other turned into a
buster at her back, much like just a
moment ago. The moment he has hold
of her, his armor changes into the much
stronger and well armored, Break
Armor.
"You all
hate me. But tell me, how many of you wouldn't do anything
to save a friend... a member of
your squad in here... /anything/ to save
them." Is Blues trying to
justify his recent actions? Weird.
Blues changes into his Break Man armor.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Rush,
Munitions... bridge crew,
stand down."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Shellfish,
take Blues's head
off."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits,
"Grudgefight
senses....tingling!"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Mercurial Mongoose transmits,
"Doesn't he need it?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits,
"Confirmed."
Rush Raccoon watches as Shield charges past. He smacks
himself in the face.
Arrrrgghhh... Shellfish! Alright, Surprise factor lost,
screw it. He thinks
to himself 'Assault Rifle' and he
pulls one out of a subspace containment
unit. He usually doesn't do this, but
he doesn't have such a weapon on hand
in this uniform, he did'nt come in,
in field dress. He cocks the rifle and
now walks in, pointing it forward
like a lot of the other gumbies. But Rush
is a lot faster. So
much experience with this in the Hunters. He raises the
weapon just in time to see Blues
Bzkpt across the room in a blink and grab
another hostage.
He did'nt hear the bit about a training exercise. As far as
he know it's
really. "Is this
wasn't in RF for that. Slowly, his
weapon lowers as he traces on Blues head.
"What is this time, huh!? You all join the death
leaguge this time or
something!?" he says with another
snap, his gun is ready to be snapped up
again however.
Storm Owl scowls as Blues once again takes another hostage.
Blues's /former/
hostage slumps to the ground after
hitting the wall. Sure he's resistant to
air, but it still hurts like the
dickens. Plus he still has that chunk o'
debris in his forehead, which is
never healthy for him. How many of the
bridge crew are wind resistant? Not
most of them, unfortunately, and
certainly not Poppy. The femme
gasps in shock as Blues catches her unaware.
She freezes, standing, not wanting to move out of fear of
being shot in the
back at point blank range.
"You're
right," Storm Owl admits in a droning voice, "Repliforcers
do not enjoy hurting each other...
and given a situation like this our
protocol is to work out a peaceful
solution." Storm Owl does -not- look
pleased with this.
Storm Owl is
an excellent actor. Poppy isn't wind resistant, no.
She's LASER resistant.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "He's
all yours, Sing. Leave
some part alive."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Singularity Shrike transmits, "I
won't kill him,
Lieutenant..."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Singularity Shrike transmits,
"...but I /will/ make him
regret this."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "I
believe you. But I dont
think you're gonna kiss him with
rose petals either."
Everyone else
stands down. Shield Shellfish, optics locking on
Blues, holds position in the middle
of the room.
For about three seconds.
Then she whips
out both laser rifles. One is aimed in Blues' general
direction -- but the other is not;
instead aimed around a thirty-degree
angle to where she is. Some of the
panels will need to be repaired later,
but for /now/ they serve as
excellent reflective surfaces -- the shots
rebounding off the wall panels
towards a monitor and then to Blues' back and
opposite side. Shell drains both
pistols rapidly, evidently seeing no reason
to hold back where Protoman is
concerned.
'Take his head
off', they told her. She may interpret this
literally.
Munitions Ifrit is slammed up against a wall. 'Nuff said.
While the 'breeze'
itself didn't hurt, being thrown
against a wall did, and again he gets a
lump on the head and is a tad
disoriented. Not nearly as long though, as he
does note a new hostage situation. Lasers. They need lots of lasers. They
are slim enough to not blow
anything up. Unfortunately for him, he can't
fire. He makes things go boom. Too much. He has little recourse but to
glare, lowering his arm while he
ponders alternatives. Not that he can find
any at the moment. Either blow
apart part of the bridge, or don't. Tough
choice.So, no blowing something up.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Prismatic Spider transmits, "Well
Sing... There isn't
room for all of us in there. Go
indulge yourself."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Prismatic Spider transmits, "And
for the love of Light,
don't blow up the room."
Protoman is
far from fool enough to believe that Storm Owl would
just end it at that. His optics
shift across the room behind his shades and
faceplate. With Blues' face
completely hidden now it's hard to tell exactly
what mental condition he's in.
"No, you
just enjoy continuing hating me," surprisingly enough
there's not even a note of sarcasm
in that. "You want to get your pound of
flesh, rightfully so..." It's
at this point Blues sees Shellfish charging
toward him and beginning her
barrage.
Whether it's a
surprise to the Repliforcers around him or not, Blues
pushes Poppy, his hostage, out of
the way of the barrage before it has a
chance to hit her. He takes every
single one of the blasts himself instead
and is sent spiralling back into
the wall.
There's a fair amount of smoke coming
from Break Man's fallen form
as he lays there in a half
destroyed console. He pushes himself up, knowing
that he'll likely be shot again;
for whatever reason unwilling or unable to
blink away. "Each of you would
give your life to save one of your friends or
family in this room. But would you
destroy your soul to do so and live as a
pariah..." his words can
probably be heard by all, as he looks to Storm Owl.
He's not making any hostile moves.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Singularity Shrike sounds a bit hurt,
"I'm.../stuck/..."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel completely deadpan except for
the caps lock,
"After I finish KILLING ZERO I shall retrieve
you."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Don't let
up, mechs. Don't let
him try to play with your
mind."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish
grunt.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl doesn't even need to make a
mental note.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits,
"There's a giant Zero
running towards me and I dont mind
telling you all that I'm alittle
worried."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel cough.
"I apologize for my unprofessional and
undignified outburst. Enroute
to..." A jaw clench that would make Father
Odin himself proud, "...Iris's quarters to intercept
Zero."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Red transmits, "Duck and cover
under a table.
Repliforce tables can stop everything up to and including
atomic warfare."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray transmits, "I would
offer aid, Sir, but I
take it you want to handle Zero
solo."
Rush Raccoon has disconnected.
Munitions Ifrit still holds fire, since his gun isn't
raised. "..." Okay. So
mysteries are mysteries. "He's
beat up enough. I say just toss him in a
teleporter and eject him back to
light labs."
Comm Bat frowns. He's pretty speedy, but he's not what you
would call a
combatant. From behind the station
he and Storm Owl are using for cover, he
asks, "What's he talking
about?" In his hands are a slender, delicate
looking sonic rifle. He looks fancy
but fragile. Storm Owl meanwhile knows
-exactly- what Blues is talking
about. "I would not risk the lives of
countless innocents to save a
friend, no," he retorts, already aiming his
Cyclone Cannon at the prone Protoman once again.
"That's something the
Maverick Hunters have never understood - Repliforce exists
to *protect*
those that cannot defend
themselves. Not to put the value of our own lives
above others."
Poppy
meanwhile is shocked at this turn of events. She gets flung
away from Blues and lands on her
hands and knees. Knowing what's coming, she
scrambles to get out of the way of
Shellfish's barrage.
The rest of
the bridge crew, however, have their orders and begin
pumping shots towards Blues. Sonic
waves, energy blasts, fire pellets,
bullets, ice shards... you name it,
you got it. This section of the bridge
is going to need an extensive
repair job. After a concentrated strike
they'll stop and let the larger
crew members move in to deal with Protoman
up close and personal.
It seems Storm
Owl disagrees with Munitions! Should Blues call
time-out and surrender outside of
the drill, however, Storm Owl will indeed
accept it without hesitation. Emotional control, baby.
Shield Shellfish doesn't need a faceplate to hide her mental
condition. To
approximately two reploids it is
obvious, and to the rest of the world it is
completely obscure. She does not
allow herself any surprise as the hostage
is shoved aside; does not even
spare the poor girl a glance as Poppy is
thrown out of the way. Shell
empties the pistols and pitches them aside,
pulling the last, larger rifle from
across her back.
"We're
not done yet, soldier."
Far from
following Storm Owl's deadpan 'encouragement', the
bodyguard can't help but feel
further enraged at Protoman's statements. What
/right/ does he have to talk about loyalty, about family?
Shell drops to
a kneel as the collected bridge crew unleashes a hail
of fire -- Shell facing the
opposite way to prepare for (what she thinks is)
the inevitable ambush when Protoman
blinks away.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Status
report. How is the
fighting elsewhere on the
ship?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Spiral Pegasus transmits, " The Human Hunter has been
forced to retreat.."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "Zero is ready
to retreat."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Prismatic Spider transmits,
"Ejecting Axl."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits, "What
is our current
height?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Mercurial Mongoose transmits, "Ten
thou or so."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits, "Good
enough."
The Break Armor
can take a whole hell of a lot of punishment. But
when you take the concentrated fire
of twenty three various Repliforcers for
any prolonged amount of time it
will definitely wear things down.
"No... you wouldn't Owl..." Blues says through the shots. He's
not
even raising up the shield strapped
over his shoulder to block them. Each
shot he takes, each one sends him a
step back till he's finally pressed up
against the wall.
"I'm
sorry Repliforcers...died that... day... It wasn't
my...intention." The words pause every shot that hits him. "I did... what I
felt... I should to bring... that
monster down..."
The firing
continues for a few more moments, but Blues isn't
conscious now. The moment the last
shot is fired it's apparent he's severely
wounded. He stands there a statue
with broken armor before he falls forward
onto his face.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Blues is
down. Cease firing."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Medics, see
to him."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "Copy
that, en route."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "Hey,
Pops?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Prismatic Spider transmits, "Yes,
Soul?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "While
I go reattach Blues's
retinas, you think you can take
SingSing off the wall? He's gonna curse the
paint off the walls at this
point."
A few seconds
later, Blues disappears in a flash of energy.
Something almost similar to E-Ring, but
far cooler.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Prismatic Spider transmits, "You
mean you didn't do
that already? Right right, I'll be
right there."
Munitions Ifrit has something to say about that. if there was one thing that
he couldn't stand, it was that
display. "That was totally uncalled for. He
knew he was outnumbered and he took
those shots directly. But that was still
no excuse to reip him a new head as
if this wasn't even a training
exercise."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "I was
lookin out for the
kid."
Soul Nightshade arrives from the Turbolifts.
Soul Nightshade has arrived.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Desert Dolphin transmits, "...
Sing?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Singularity Shrike swears until his
radio breaks from
the abuse.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Desert Dolphin meeps.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray transmits, "I am
going to have to have a
talk with Sing about self-control
at another date I see."
Soul Nightshade comes into the Bridge, a shotgun wrapped in
sterile
packaging in one hand and a tazer
fresh from the sanitizer in the other. He
looks around the room, his medic
band strapped hastily to his arm, before
looking at Storm Owl.
"....Code
Pink?" he asks, almost frightened.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "All
due respect, Cap, I
dont think he knew it was a drill.
He saw invaders and acted accordingly,
and within mission
parameters."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel grunt.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Desert Dolphin winces a bit, "I
missed something,
didn't I?"
"Cease fire, cease fire," Storm Owl calls out.
This was probably good to get
the aggression out of the bridge
crew's system, but Storm Owl doesn't want
Protoman too badly hurt by this impromptu training exercise.
"Medics, see to
him." There's one medic on the
bridge that begins stepping towards Blues in
order to help stabilize Blues and
the security chief that got the shrapnel
to the forehead until Soul
Nightshade can get there.
Some of the
other troopers are back at their stations to see if
there are any other intruders, or
are checking themselves over for injury,
or are grinning and patting
themselves on the back. There are a few vulgar
jokes about Protoman being slung
around.
"Over here!"
the medic calls out to Soul as he appears in the
doorway. Soul will see that a small
part of the large bridge has been
annihilated with extreme force.
"Lets see if- gah!" the medic jolts back as
Blues suddenly vanishes into thin air.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray transmits, "Could say
that."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Desert Dolphin sighs. "Sorry.."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray transmits, "It's okay, Desert. Didn't miss
anything big anyway."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Desert Dolphin transmits, "Sounds
like it."
Blues is down.
Cease fire.
Shield
Shellfish stands, turns in place, watching the unconscious
Hunter collapse. Her fingers tighen
around the rifle she carries, but before
anything else happens -- Blues is
gone, teleported away. Soul Nightshade
arrives just a little too late to
help out. Shell glances up at him, then
back at the empty (and badly
melted-down) patch of the bridge area.
Without warning -- a rare moment of pique. The bodyguard
grits her
teeth and slams the rifle down onto
the ground. A *fzztPOP* marks her sudden
disappearance.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray transmits,
"Awwww....I'm not going to get
to snipe Zero, am I?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "The bridge
is secure. Are there
any issues elsewhere?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "Zero has
pulled out. The Hunters
have finished. They have won the
sceneario, though declared it a draw out of
respect for our response."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel has That Tone in his voice.
"I expect a full
report on the bridge situation
before I make my final analysis of the
response."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "What was
their objective?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray transmits, "With all
due respect, Sir,
this was the crappiest exercise in
years. Not on your end though."
Soul Nightshade drops his shotgun and tazer. She wasn't
hurt, no need for
the shotgun or tazers then. He sees
Blues blink away, before looking at
Storm Owl. "Targets Axl and
Zero neutralized, sir. Minmal pantying." he says
with a salute, before looking
around the bridge, particularly the melted
part. "Thought we said
nonlethal."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Desert Dolphin transmits, "Grah...
dang it.."
Storm Owl replies, "He's still alive,
don't worry." The gumby medic
meanwhile has moved over to the
security chief that got the shrapnel in his
forehead. The trooper is
unconscious, and the medic quickly motions for Soul
Nightshade to come help because Soul Nightshade is a
bitchin' medic and the
gumby is not.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "Their mission
was to breach the
bridge, and deposit a...parcel in
my quarters."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Protoman did
not accomplish
anything on the bridge other than
waste our time for several minutes."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "Exactly,
Commander Owl. Both tasks
were successful. Major Stingray,
commentary on the results of the excercise
will wait until all data has been
collected and analysed."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray doesn't sound too happy,
but he at least
sounds respectful. "Of course, Sir."
Soul Nightshade snorts. "Not for lack of effort, it
seems." he says, before
moving over towards Owl. His optics
read the energy signature and its weak
points, particularly the surging
aura in his forehead. "That's quite a
splinter, Sir." he says,
getting ready to wiggle the part loose while
dampening Storm's pain receptors.
"Anything get out of hand?"
Soul Nightshade takes out a medical scanner and scans Storm
Owl.
Munitions Ifrit mumbles incoherently. "I better go get
someone up here to
fix those panels.." yeah. Not
much else he can do right now.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Berkana transmits, "The repair bay
is staffed and ready
to recieve those that may have
accidentally hurt themselves tonight."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Prismatic Spider transmits, "I
think the only serious
injury was not entirely
accidental."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Jet Stingray transmits, "I'm
getting a drink upstairs.
If anyone needs me, I'll be there."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Berkana transmits, "This means
/you/ Corporal
Shellfish."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits, "I am
not injured,
Captain."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits, "Thank
you for your
concern."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "Corporal
Shellfish, let me explain
why I am blind with rage right
now."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "The
surgical shotguns are
in the upper cabinet, Miss
Berkana."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "The Robot
Masters use stupid things
as weapons. Is everyone with me so
far?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Yes
sir."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Prismatic Spider transmits, "Yes
sir."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits, "Aye
aye."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Desert Dolphin transmits, "Aye
sir."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits, "Yes
sir."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Singularity Shrike says nothing, having
broken his
radio and being passed the heck
out.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Berkana transmits, "That is
irrelevant, you have a
tendancy to underestimate and or
downplay the severity of your wounds. Get
down here, Corporal."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "Good, good,
we're clear on this
concept I covered when you were all
in basic. I was a little concerned, what
with so many Repliforcers being
confused as to what was happening-Captain, I
am not done yelling yet."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Berkana, politely.
"My apologies, Colonel."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "Okay, so. The
Robot Masters also
have people we hate. Like Bass. We
all hate Bass. He came into our home,
killed our friends, and almost
destroyed it in a fit of terrible rage
because he is a wonton man-child
with the power of a demigod. Again, is
everyone following me?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits, "Yes
sir."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Prismatic Spider transmits, "Yes
sir."
Storm Owl remains crouched in front of his wounded mech.
"Not particularly.
Protoman injured Sergeant Gorilla when he made his entrance
onto the bridge.
I'm unsure if it was accidental or deliberate." Seems
likely it would be
accidental, but Owl has his suspicions.
"We don't know Protoman's current
condition due to his automatic
blinking system."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Desert Dolphin transmits, "Aye
sir."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "So, you could
say that a potentialy
effective plan would be to have
someone we truely wish to see die again
breach our home. Perhaps Bass could
attack a heavily defended, but very
important target. The Bridge, maybe. This would, in fact, be an enormous
distraction for the /real/
concern...perhaps Gyro Man could be setting up a
tracking or disabling device on our
hull. Perhaps Clown Man could be setting
listening devices, bombs, mind
control virii, or a dozen other things
cleverly disguised as womens's
underwear in the rooms of our command staff.
This could be a potentialy devistating attack that is totaly
in line with
Robot Master modus operendii,
yes?"
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Yes
sir."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Prismatic Spider transmits, "Yes
Sir."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits, "Yes
sir."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Desert Dolphin transmits, "Aye
sir..."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "Then the
reason I am blind with
rage does not need to be explained.
Corporal Shellfish, when you are ordered
to be examined, you will be
examined. If you have something personal with
Captain Berkana, request that Commander Spider do it. A
bodyguard too proud
to be repaired is useless to
me."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Colonel transmits, "I /hate/
useless things, they
endanger my Repliforce. All of you
get back to work. Dismissed."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Yes
sir."
"The Devil with Blues." mutters Soul under his
breath, before patching
Gorilla up with a dressing and spotweld.
"Got a fresh plate for him in
sickbay." he says, before going to inspect the downed
Gorilla. "Doesn't look
lethal, but it does look
particularly...mean. They jacked up your
moneymaker, man!" he jests to
Gorilla, giving him a friendly pat on the
shoulder.
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Desert Dolphin winces. "Yes.. sir..."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits, "Yes
sir."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Prismatic Spider transmits, "Yes
Sir."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits,
"Already workin', Boss."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Soul Nightshade transmits,
"Excellent work, everyone.
Looks like everyone made it through safely."
[Radio: (A) RF-Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Satisfactory
work for those on
the bridge."
Secure Gorilla is KOed, so he doesn't reply. He'll find it
funny when he is
brought back online, though.
"Good," Storm Owl replies to Soul Nightshade
upon hearing that the damage isn't
lethal. He'd hate to lose a good mech on
account of a drill with the
Hunters. Storm Owl stands upright again and
says, "Everyone back to your
stations. I want a full damage report available
within a minute."

Title: H-RF Training:
Bridge Report
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*** TEXT ONLY
***
When the drill
began, I was stationed in the command centre with the
bridge crew from duty roster alpha.
Upon hearing the intruder alert we
locked down the bridge and began
assessing the location of the Maverick
Hunter intruders. From the bridge
we directed troops to counter enemy
positions and to station guards are
critical locations. We had reports of
fighting on the Upper Deck C, and
guards posted at security checkpoint 18-A
reported Protoman approaching the
bridge.
We assumed
defensive positions and locked out the bridge command
codes to the ship. Protoman entered
and seriously wounded trooper Secure
Gorilla. With the assistance of
Shield Shellfish, Munitions Ifrit, and Rush
Raccoon, we put Protoman offline within several minutes.
Protoman,
unconscious, automatically blinked
out upon defeat.
Protoman
attempted to take hostages on two occasions, however this
tactic was countered each time. The
intruder also attempted to offer his
apology for the deaths caused on
May 8th of this year, however for the sake
of the drill we did not relent.
In repelling Protoman, damage was dealt to
both the
evacuation/grappling line control
station and the surrounding area. Control
of these systems will have to be
rerouted elsewhere until the damage can be
repaired. Security Chief Secure
Gorilla will be in the medbay for several
days.

Post Exercise Analysis(1/3) Sun Sep 10 Colonel
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's Colonel. He looks the opposite of happy.
"Good afternoon.
I have reviewed our collective performance during last evening's festivities.
Martially, we are better than ever. The Hunters were scattered, constantly
harried, not allowed to keep in tight communication and unable to cause
significant trouble aboard the ship. Unfortunately, every other important
factor I aimed to test with this exercise was a resounding and devastating
failure. This leads me to believe that while we have captured some of the
Maverick Hunters's positive traits with our forced adaptation to independence, we have also managed to inherit their less
desirable traits, which I am certain we are all well aware of."
"To put things
in perspective, I will explain; Zero and I decided on a drill, and made a wager
as to who would triumph. While gambling is normally a wasteful practice, I had
my reasons for accepting the bet. I did not inform the Repliforce as to the
nature of the exercise until the last minute for the same reason that I did not
authorize Storm Owl to use the emergency protocols. We would not get a warning
if one of our enemies was to hack into our teleportation grid and stage a
lightning boarding attempt. Frankly, any warning we do get is a luxury that the
Repliforce has been taking for granted for far, far too long. The fact that I
had to remind the Repliforce no less than five separate times what the nature
of the exercise was, what Repliforcers on duty were to do, what was expected of
them, and even the fact that we were under attack was bad enough. The fact that I had to define a term in the middle of a fire fight,
/and/ have at least one report of a Repliforce officer who "Didn't
know it was a drill." builds an ire in me that I find myself unable to express
with words."
"A lot of you
are new, relatively speaking. A decent amount of the current pool of Repliforce
officers were not even constructed when we first fought the armies of Wily in
the infancy of the Robot Wars. I can understand, to a point, having a bad day.
Everyone has one-Mega Man has bad days, I have personally witnessed them."
Colonel pauses, solemnly. Maybe it's for effect; maybe it's just how many of
his comrades are gone has finally sunk in. "The principle difference being
that we are the sole protectors of law and order worth a damn on the planet.
The principle difference being that we are the ones responsible for those dead
Australians, those dead Irish, /any/ mass of civilians
torched in the name of whatever mad cause a group of loosely organized
eccentric warriors with power comparable to mythological demigods has pledged
itself to this week."

Its still Colonel!
"Yes, that does
sound like our friends the Hunters. That's the other reason I agreed to this
exercise. Back to the bet; a wager was the best way for me to assure that Zero
would not half-ass his side of the effort. Everyone should take this
opportunity to remember that even the dimmest Hunter is going to have the
advantage of being used to working on the field with a fraction of the
resources you have available to you. Last evening, their crazy scheme turned
our greatest strengths, our numbers and our discipline, against us. Their use
of woman's underwear as a MacGuffin object made us doubt ourselves, slowed us
down, and confused us-who would care about someone nailing panties to my office
door? Their use of Blues to attack the bridge, drawing almost the entire bridge
crew into a vengeful fury, bogged our communications down, kept the initial
confusion going strong, and helped make sure several Repliforcers had no idea
we were having a drill."
"Take
"Zero" out of that sentence. Put "Lumine." in. Instead of
"Michael Eildath" painting the Hunter symbol on the hull of the
Fortress V, see "Sage Harpuia" ripping our engines to shreds. Take
"Blues" out of that sentence. Put "Bass" in its place.
Picture how hard the Force Commander who violated and almost destroyed our home
would laugh, hearing that his master's undergarment-disguised virus has
terminated me while the Repliforce was savagely reacting to his distraction.
Our enemies use their eccentricity to brutal advantage, Repliforce, and I am
proud that we continue to maintain dignity in the face of a world infested with
lunacy. I really am. But the second, the pump of your power generator that your
dignity makes you too good to do your job, and too shocked to manage something
as basic as "Stop the intruder" without asking for clarification six
times and giving a running commentary on the radio, it becomes a liability that
must be as firmly subject to your will and discipline as any other
weakness-causing emotion. This is what we have learned today, Repliforce. Do
not forget it."

ONE MORE TIME!
"Finally,
specific responses. I will be discussing improvements to Repliforce
officer and enlisted education programs with the full command staff as soon as
is possible. EVERYONE will be retested and, if nessicary, their ranks and
duties will be altered in accordance with their ability."
"Secure Gorilla will recieve
an increase in pay for damages above and beyond what is expected in a
simulation, as well as the standard damaged while on duty benefits package.
Furthermore, he will be the only Repliforcer exempt from the following edict:
This is the hat I am wearing for a week, thanks to Zero winning the bet."

"My revenge will be unspeakable. However, I am a robot
of my word, and I will wear his silly little fruit hat. However," Colonel
narrows his eyes...and then, oh snap, he grins. Not a
cocky smirk or a tiny, akward little smile like Kanissa usualy wears, this is
is, for perhaps the first time in most Repliforcer's memories, the Colonel actualy grinning. "I believe in the unity of the
Repliforce, and our allies in S.T.A.R.S. Therefore, as we
share in each others's triumphs and failures, so too shall we share this
indigity-as one World Army, united against the forces of chaos and ruin.
Hats will be available in Ten Forward and other convienant locations at 0600
Monday Morning. Have a nice day."
Still grinning, Colonel's image winks out.

Right - to those who don't know, a bunch of us did a little
raid on the Fortress-V, just a way to blow off some tension and test Repliforce
at the same time. Friendly rivalry is good.
Me, Kraft, Blues, Axl and Mike got mobbed, but we managed some
small penetration to the bridge, as well as a successful reverse panty raid* on
Colonel by Axl. Nice job, kid - nice job, everyone.
If you see Colonel in the next week or so, be sure to
compliment him on his nice hat.

Text.
Copy forwarded to General, Colonel, and Prismatic Spider.
Per what Zilch
wanted to achieve, I got to the bridge. I 'gently' stunned four guards on the
way there through simple physical means. When I blew open the door to the
bridge shrapnel apparently injured one person; but once there I didn't fire a
shot. Employing tactics that a Maverick or Arcadian would, I took up position
behind two Repliforcers and used them as shields.
This didn't stop
them from firing at me. The first one was unconscious already, specifically the
one who was injured by the door. The second one was quite conscious when they
began firing. I threw her out of the way of the barrage and took the shots
myself. Following that, Storm Owl and his group of Repliforcers proceeded to
unleash a barrage at me. I took no hostile or defense actions after releasing
the person they were going to shoot through.
And they call
my tactics flawed.
Blues.
End text.
P.S. I'm done with dealing with Repliforce. Next training
exercise Colonel asks you to do, count me out.
