General

Snipe Anteater is standing near the enterance of the Stands, He watches the crowd of contestants and considers who have the best odds to be in the finals... He does consider himself as a more talented Sniper then almost all the other contestants in the stands but he sees a number people who he sees in the final... But there is always the Snipers bane... Luck...

Assault Kangaroo had also arrived, moving into the Repliforce section... without a weapon. He of all people being here was a mystery to a few people, but fellow Repliforcers would have understood: His weapon was in his hands. As in, INSIDE his hands. What it is, nobody except the Repliforce knew.

General, quietly enough, is 'sitting', well, actually standing. Being a 20-foot reploid makes it hard to find a seat, so he's standing near the Repliforce section, calmly waiting for the Sharpshooting contest to begin.

Hien has, also, been here for a while. He's just in the waiting area... Er... Waiting. Ehe. His cipher shines in his hands. Probably because it's mirrored. WOW! Anyway. He seems confident. And why wouldn't he be? He's great- and wearing his lucky briefs. He's also pinned a picture of Fairy Leviathan - the best sniper in the world - to his crotch. HE CANNOT LOSE.

Shadow Man is in the Robot Master section, recently arrived from Africa. He's made a lot of long tracks in unreasonably short amounts of time lately. Bad writing, that's the problem.

Storm Owl is already in the Repliforce section when Hailstorm nods. Storm Owl inclines his head in her direction and waves her over. No sense in sitting with those he doesn't know, afterall. Even Storm Owl has need of friends. "Participating in the event, Hailstorm?" he inquires. "Good. I've been pleased with Repliforce's involvement in these training exercises thus far."

BURNTOTHEGROUND!BURNTOTHEGROUND!BURNTOTHEGROU-...No, wait. Wrong alt. Dust Man is sitting in the stands in the Robot Master section., munching at popcorn with Blue sitting next to him, holding his beer.

[Radio: (C) Chat] Assault Kangaroo transmits, "Anybody feel that me being here is sheer irony?"

[Radio: (C) Chat] Hailstorm Eagle transmits, "... no, why?"

[Radio: (C) Chat] Assault Kangaroo transmits, "Because I was made for melee fighting rather than ranged combat."

[Radio: (C) Chat] Assault Kangaroo transmits, "I have good aim with the nailgun, though..."

[Radio: (C) Chat] Hailstorm Eagle transmits, "I wasn't made for fighting, period."

[Radio: (C) Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "As I have learned recently, knowledge in both is important."

Sarah is in the stands. Gasp. Her drones float around. That's about all there is to it.

Shark Man is in the Robot Master section, sipping on a margarita while he waits for stuff to happen.

A flash of static and suddenly Gabriel appears on the outskirts of Sarah's drones. She sits down, and stretches out her mouth.

The eagle blinks a bit, then does indeed head over to Storm. "Good to see you sir. Yeah, I'm in this too, I didn't know you were though..."

Bravura is sitting in the Maverick section of the stands. Personally he finds it an insult to be segrated like this. However, he wants a shiny medal, so he's forced to endure it.

Ebony Fox sits calmly next to the INTERPOL Power Armors, legs crossed, and a nail file out. Yes, ladies and gents, she's doing her nails.

[Radio: (C) Chat] Colonel transmits, "Quite."

Gus is actually volunteering as security for the event, and thus isn't present in the stands. Why this act of good will? Well, let's say he's both tracking someone and letting old habits dictate his behavior, and this is the best of both worlds.

So far there isn't anything that's making him go psycho paranoid over out of the public's view, but that's likely to change depending on what the competitors bring into the play field. Not that he carries the authority to do anything - he's just a helping hand for tonight.

Storm Owl says, "As disappointing as it is to say, I have little else to do during these games but compete. The ship doesn't need me quite as much during peacetimes." Especially since it's allllll better since blowing up Delta Sphere. Yeah you heard me, Pharaoh Man! Alllll better! "Enjoying yourself at the games?" he inquires politely, even though he barely cares.

Somewhere, Pharaoh Man melts small effigies of Storm Owl. Repeatedly.

Outside> Spica's Camera has arrived.

"So far, so good, actually," stated the eagle, starting to lighten up a bit. "Plasma, Blaster and I have our next Team Combat match in a couple of days. Then after this, there's the Air Race... I'm hoping I don't do something really bad like I did last year," she warbled.

Outside> The Camera turns on.

Teisel Bonne was in the stands, however...there was a massive machine there...yes, Bruno was casually sitting down as Teisel himself was inside, fingering a comic book.

Storm Owl arches an optical brow with mild curiousity, turning to face her completely. "What," he asks cautiously, "Occured last year?" Storm Owl was busy last year hanging out with the GNN OFCs and other characters who never get players.

Elec Man is dancing on the stands!

Javelin Whitetail hesitates a moment; but...having come this far, can she refuse the offer, really? The line of argument bothers her, but she doesn't pursue it; instead, she slings the rifle onto her back and moves quietly up to perch by Tactical Raccoon.

Gemini Man has arrived.

Assault still sat in the Repliforce stands, located near the fellow competitors in his faction who have come here. He was prepared to do everything in his power to ensure a victory...

[Radio: (G) Global] Bullet transmits, "This should be a neat competition tonight...."

Tactical Raccoon clears a seat next to himself for Javelin, reordering the entire section to accomodate a newcomer in his row. As she settles in, Tactical starts cleaning his anti-armor rifle carefully, making last-minute preparations for the match. "Javelin Whitetail," he says, muffled slightly by his gas mask. "I am familiar with your work. It is a privilege."

Outside>

There's a slight humming on the top of the flat plateau of Ayers Rock as the sharpshooting targets start up and rise slightly into view. Tapping the microphone, the announcer clears his throat. "And here we are at the Sharpshooting competition, the mid-point of the Battle and Chase games! Always one of the bigger draws, this one looks like it isn't about to disappoint, either! The targets are ready, the air is still, the sun is high - conditions are perfect! Now let's see just how people do! The ceremonial

opening shot is ready..."

On the field, an ancient cannon thunders off a cannonball, which completely misses all five targets.

"And we're on! The judges are randomly drawing the first contestant - Snipe Anteater!"

Hailstorm sighs. "My wing came off in midflight. I was the only DNF in the race."

Snipe Anteater has left.

Outside> Snipe Anteater has arrived.

Serges says, glancing up. "Why hello, Javelin. A pleasure to see you..." he knows her, obviously, being quite an old Coalition member..

Outside>  Hearing his name Snipe Anteater stands up and walks out of the stands. He looks around and takes careful notice of the targets as he makes his way to the firing position. He gauges the targets distance and the wind conditions as he falls to on knee and slowly takes his launcher from his back and slowly makes the calculations that take into account the heat, wind, time of day and other minuet details that would drag his projectiles off course. It seems he is taking a long time as he takes aim, but then

slowly squeezes his trigger and fires off a five projectiles each targeted at their own targets.

[Radio: (G) Global] Sawsoff transmits, "It'll be something."

Outside> Snipe Anteater strikes Target 1 with his Awp attack.

Outside> Snipe Anteater strikes Target 2 with his Awp attack.

Outside> Snipe Anteater strikes Target 3 with his Awp attack.

Outside> Snipe Anteater strikes Target 4 with his Awp attack.

Outside> Snipe Anteater strikes Target 5 with his Awp attack.

Bravura doesn't really know Javelin, seeing as he was indisposed durring the siege of Berlin, but thats ok, he's not really in the same row as the rest, which is good, since he wouldn't have moved to make room for her anyways.

Teisel Bonne flips a page in his comic Book, he really does not look concerned. Though, you can hear laughter from inside once in a while.

Entering somewhat belatedly, Onyx sneaks in to the back of the stands, setting herself down off in the back, where there is a bit of a clearing.

[Radio: (G) Global] Bullet transmits, "Remind me not to get in -his- line of fire."

Snipe Anteater has arrived.

[Radio: (G) Global] Sawsoff transmits, "Heh. Yeah, that'll leave a mark."

Outside>

"And a full 15 points for Snipe Anteater! What a start to things! This is a hallmark of things to come, I expect. Up next: Sheena!"

Sheena has left.

Outside> Sheena has arrived.

Gemini Man and Gemini Man are seated near the front of the Robot Master section. One of them has popcorn, and is watching the bout; the other, however, is watching the crowd.

Storm Owl ahs and nods, waving his hand dismissively, "A mere technical malfunction is nothing to be concerned about assuming it was corrected since then." He was afraid it was going to be something along the lines of poor airmanship or something. Storm watches as Snipe nails all five targets. "That will be difficult to match." he notes.

Outside> Sheena steps out, pistol at the ready. She's been waiting for this ever since her... rather humiliating defeat at Fencing. She brushes her hair out of her face quickly, and then pops a fresh clip in; her plan of 'attack' for this event is to be /careful/-- she isn't going to do anything /drastic/ yet. Eyeballing the targets, she quickly takes one shot at each-- the bigger guns, and less sophisticated techniques, are for use /later/.

Outside> Sheena strikes Target 1 with her Small Arms attack.

Outside> Sheena strikes Target 2 with her Small Arms attack.

Outside> Sheena misses Target 3 with her Small Arms attack.

Outside> Sheena strikes Target 4 with her Small Arms attack.

Outside> Sheena misses Target 5 with her Small Arms attack.

Sheena has arrived.

Cut Man look down at Gemini Man from his seat, stoping to play with his cutrang for a moment. "Hey, Double Shiny."

The eagle -stares-. "Yep.... it's been fixed...."

Outside>

"Oooooh, not quite as good for Sheena. But still - 7 points! A good solid outing. (Though hopefully she'll do better there than in her attempts to fence with a pistol-butt..) None the less, the judges are already on the move, pulling out the name... Bravura!"

Bravura has left.

Outside> Bravura has arrived.

Outside> As his name is called, Bravura makes his way out of the stands and to the shooting location. The maverick's right arm transforms into an arm cannon as he takes aim at the targets. A small energy blast issues forth from the barrel of the weapon five times, each aimed at a different target. Once finished, Bravura moves back to the stands.

Outside> Bravura strikes Target 1 with his Bravura Cannon attack.

Outside> Bravura strikes Target 2 with his Bravura Cannon attack.

Outside> Bravura strikes Target 3 with his Bravura Cannon attack.

Outside> Bravura strikes Target 4 with his Bravura Cannon attack.

Outside> Bravura strikes Target 5 with his Bravura Cannon attack.

Bravura has arrived.

Outside> Milan arrives from the Northern Territory.

Outside> Milan has arrived.

Milan has arrived.

Outside>

"Whoa! And quite a showing from Bravura, for the maximum 15 points! That's got to be making Sheena feel nervous already.. Next on the draw? Storm Owl!"

Western Australia

While beginning to feel the creeping tendrils of technology, the Outback of western Australia staunchly holds on to its rugged atmosphere. One could roam for days and never see another soul in this wild expanse. A few tribes of Aboriginies still roam the plains, as indicated by the few trade outposts along the shores and main trails. Definitely a place to be alone. Or be hidden.

Storm Owl steps out and peers up at the crowd, nodding to those he's friends with - not that Butterball is particularly known for having tons of friends, but Hailstorm Eagle and General are among them. Teisel Bonne and Elec Man also get nods for quite the opposite of reasons. Finally, the Repliforcer hovers up into the air, trying a little trick for round one. He flies up and away from the starting line. But just before you think he's running away from his turn, the Replifore war bird turns about in mid-air and screams towards the targets, breaking the sound barrier with the help of gravity. Storm himself halts just before the line so as not to DQ himself. But the sonic boom that was generated continues, trying to strike all five.

You strike Target 1 with a glancing hit from your Sonic Boom attack.

You strike Target 2 with a glancing hit from your Sonic Boom attack.

You miss Target 3 with your Sonic Boom attack.

You strike Target 4 with a glancing hit from your Sonic Boom attack.

You strike Target 5 with a glancing hit from your Sonic Boom attack.

Bravura returns to where he was formerly seated, he doesn't say anything, his results speak well enough for him.

Hailstorm chirped, "Good luck Major.." as the eagle left. And then grinned as he missed only one! "Good job!"

Teisel Bonne spoke through the mike. "Not bad backstabber." was he still sore about being thrashed? Yeah.

Outside>

"And 12 points for Storm Tur..Owl. Storm *Owl*. Will the next step in the pattern hold true? Will every other contestant hit it perfectly? We'll soon find out from.. Dust Man!"

Javelin Whitetail nods to both Tactical Raccoon and Serges as she sits. "Aye, an' t'meet ye as well...?" She's at least present enough to be curious about their names. "Who've I the honour of meetin'?"

Storm Owl returns and nods to Hailstorm, but is, naturally, disappointed with his own results. Clearly his calculations were slightly off. No doubt he'll be spending hours later to track down the problem. Storm Owl peers in Teisel's direction, "I quite doubt that you were under the impression our alliance was anything but short-lived." He transmits back.

Shadow Man watches Sheena return as well, will idly smoking a cigarette, hands folded together in his lap.

Gus still sits silently out of the public eye, watching for any potential foul-ups. He doesn't transmit anything to Sheena nor Hien immediately to indicate his presence, probably because his ears are buzzing with radio transmissions from around the competition area.

Teisel Bonne says, "Yes, but I would not have attacked you like that, OR insulted you. But I guess you Repliforcers are all the same, talk talk talk."

Dust Man has left.

Outside> Dust Man has arrived.

Outside> Dust Man slowly moves out of the stands, lifting up his arms! He pulls out the popcorn bag and stuffs it into his duct. He motions towards the crowds. "This is for all the under appreciated! And especially for Doctor Wily!"

With that, he turns towards the targets and begins to suck up the debris in the area up for a moment.. he then concentrates for a moment, loud crushing and crashing emitted. The Dust Man looks forward and begins to SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW the grass, and trash, and wrappers, and a bunch of popcorn towards the targets.

Outside> Dust Man strikes Target 1 with his Junk Shower attack.

Outside> Dust Man strikes Target 2 with his Junk Shower attack.

Outside> Dust Man strikes Target 3 with his Junk Shower attack.

Outside> Dust Man strikes Target 4 with his Junk Shower attack.

Outside> Dust Man misses Target 5 with his Junk Shower attack.

Dust Man has arrived.

Shark Man has disconnected.

Some of the Intelligence division guys seem incredulous that /any/ Maverick wouldn't know who Serges and Tactical Raccoon were. However, Tactical remains cordial, extending his hand to Jav while he keeps cleaning his weapon with his other hand. "Tactical Raccoon," he says. "amateur musician, soldier."

[Radio: (G) Global] Bullet snickers.

Outside>

"And Dust Man.. does things perhaps a bit backwards, and is very likely getting a ticket for littering. But he does score 10 points along the way. He better be hoping for a Gold - he won't be able to hock the Bronze for enough to pay *that* fine. Following him up is a Master that might be able to show off a bit better - Shadow Man!"

Serges replies, "Major Serges, madame. X-Hunter Commander..." he, too, extends his hand.

Shadow Man has left.

Outside> Shadow Man has arrived.

[Radio: (G) Global] Sawsoff transmits, "Haw. I'm glad I'm not on the ground crews."

Leviathan doesn't even crack a smile. She's focused on the job ahead.

Outside> Shadow Man walks out onto the field without fanfare - no trash talk from Wily's ninja, and no posturing either, despite the announcer's hopes for a good show. He surveys the targets for a brief moment and then reaches into one of the many compartments in his utility belt with his left hand, drawing out a small pack of objects. One by one he passes the objects to his other hand, where they are revealed to be small throwing stars. Once passed to his right hand each throwing star is cast at a different target, slicing end over end as they fly towards each of the five over the space of perhaps three or four seconds.

Outside> Shadow Man strikes Target 1 with his Shuriken attack.

Outside> Shadow Man misses Target 2 with his Shuriken attack.

Outside> Shadow Man strikes Target 3 with his Shuriken attack.

Outside> Shadow Man strikes Target 4 with his Shuriken attack.

Outside> Shadow Man strikes Target 5 with his Shuriken attack.

Hien does. Leviathan is such a prude...

Shadow Man has arrived.

Fairy Leviathan is not amused that Hien has her picture taped to his /crotch/. Of course, she only says this via pose, because she doesn't know this ICly. So she's actually just sulking over losing a water race to Milan.

Hien chuckles. Because he knows Fairy doesn't know he has a picture of her on his crotch. OR DOES SHE? Do you claim to know what happens behind closed doors?!

Elec Man is now doing a curious dance involving spastically spinning arms, stamping feet, and thrusting of the head.

Cut Man resists the urge of flinging a Cutrang at Elec Man.

Elec Man resists the urge to DANCE ON CUT MAN'S KNEES!

Outside>

"And Shadow Man beats Dust Man by three points, with a 13! Not too shabby at all! This is getting to be a bit tighter a race! Next up: Hein!"

Hien has left.

Outside> Hien has arrived.

Outside>

Wandering out from the waiting area, Strider Hien looks at the targets carefully. Right. This shouldn't be too hard. Spinning the Mirror Cipher in his hand, another identical cipher is projected in his left hand. He holds them both by their side grips, to ensure he has maximum control over the direction the plasma presently bubbling over each blade travels. Coil after coil, white energy seems ready to lash the targets. Biting his tongue heavily, Hien stares trying to get the sharpest focus he can. Then, aiming at two targets at a time, with the final target recieving two blasts he fires, ready to strike each one.

"C'mon, judge, this is too easy!"

Outside> Hien strikes Target 1 with his Plasma Blast attack.

Outside> Hien strikes Target 2 with his Plasma Blast attack.

Outside> Hien misses Target 3 with his Plasma Blast attack.

Outside> Hien strikes Target 4 with his Plasma Blast attack.

Outside> Hien strikes Target 5 with his Plasma Blast attack.

Hien has arrived.

Outside> Midi arrives from the Northern Territory.

Outside> Midi has arrived.

Fairy Leviathan would so smack Hien if she knew he had her picture there. The beatings would never end. And then she would ask Sheena to help her.

Midi has arrived.

Hien dances back in. The crotch mojo must be working.

Outside>

"For it being too easy, Hein still managed to miss a target, getting only 12 points out of a possible 15. Thunderin' time, though, because General is in the action!"

Javelin Whitetail looks interested. "A musician? Really?" And then the X-hunter commander--her ears fold back, but whatever she might respond with is buried in a wave of JUNK.

        "....eurgh."

She pulls a banana peel from between her ears.

Crossfire creaks a little as it shifts from foot to foot, waiting patiently. Bridgit slumps in the seat, waiting. Idly, she considers harassing someone for a poker game. Then she remembers she lost 50 zenny to General. Dammit.

Tactical Raccoon gets beaned a few times with some paper and rocks, but ignores it, focusing on cleaning his firearm. A critical flaw invisibly appears in the barrel from the abuse -- perhaps the turning point of the competition, perhaps not. "Yes. I play the cello. I took it up during my music therapy."

General has left.

Outside> General has arrived.

Outside>

The Repliforce General nods once as his name is called up, walking over calmly from his place in the stands as he prepares to fire on his targets. The targets themselves, are given a brief look, as he considers his options, as they were. Then his hand is lifted upwards. The Wrist Blaster ports open, before being extended ever so slightly. White-hot energy coalesces momentarily, before he aims a shot from each cannon towards the target. Then, his fists, aimed at the targets themselves, but not the full force of them in their entirety, launch from his arms at the targets.

Outside> General misses Target 1 with his Wrist Blast - Warning Shot attack.

Outside> General misses Target 2 with his Wrist Blast - Warning Shot attack.

Outside> General strikes Target 3 with his Wrist Blast - Warning Shot attack.

Outside> General strikes Target 4 with his Generic Ranged attack.

Outside> General misses Target 5 with his Generic Ranged attack.

General has arrived.

Outside>

"Oooh, and General scores a 7, missing the big #5 target. That's going to put him in tricky position in the long run. In the next position is.. Javelin Whitetail!"

"Good luck," Tactical says, when Jav is called.

Javelin Whitetail has left.

Outside> Javelin Whitetail has arrived.

[Radio: (G) Global] Gravity Man transmits, "Go for it, Elky!"

Outside> Javelin Whitetail emerges from the Maverick stands. Coming down to line up in front of the targets, she keeps her head down and ears lowered; very uncharacteristic of the Deer, who's been so flashy lately. Then--a shift of the rifle, and her javelin actually /is/ visible; strapped to the side of the gun, for when she needs it. Not right now, though; instead, she coldly moves down the line of the targets, firing at each. The bullets fire with incredible accuracy--but explosively at well. Then, barely pausing to see the results, she moves back to the infected stands. One might notice the dent in her shoulder, though--evidently the weapon wasn't meant for someone her size.

[Radio: (G) Global] Bullet transmits, "She's a deer, I think,"

Outside> Javelin Whitetail strikes Target 1 with her Canon attack.

Outside> Javelin Whitetail strikes Target 2 with her Canon attack.

Outside> Javelin Whitetail misses Target 3 with her Canon attack.

Outside> Javelin Whitetail misses Target 4 with her Canon attack.

Outside> Javelin Whitetail misses Target 5 with her Canon attack.

Storm Owl does not bother responding to Teisel this time around. The Fortress Commander was under orders from Frost at the time. Mind you, Storm would have done the same thing nonetheless, but hey.

Javelin Whitetail has arrived.

[Radio: (G) Global] Gravity Man transmits, "Or, uh, not. Well, that makes sense. Deer are usually the ones shot /at/, not shooting."

Sarah remains down low. Her drones report a lot of what's going on, but she doesn't actually react to it...much. She does send a little note of luck through radio, however, as a certain friend is called forward.

[Radio: (G) Global] Bullet transmits, "Elk are also much bigger."

[Radio: (C) Chat] The General hm. "Could've been better."

Outside>

"Oooooh, and a disappointing 3 for Javelin. That's really got to be a heartbreaker - her luck at least is better than last year and the horrific crushing by Seismic Earthworm. Speaking of bad luck - Milan is up!"

Milan has left.

Outside> Milan has arrived.

Ebony Fox switches seats. To behind the group of power armors.

Cerveau fiddles with a pistol of some sort, cleaning it and checking to make sure everything is working properly. After all, Cerveau is always picky about his tools and a screw up here could be quite embarrassing especially.

[Radio: (G) Global] Sawsoff transmits, "Wow. That deer can't shoot. Explains why they get shot at instead."

[Radio: (G) Global] Techno giggles.

Fairy Leviathan cracks a small smile now.

Outside>        Milan, panting, has just finished climbing up into the stands when his name is called, and he turns back around and hurries back down the stairs, tripping near the bottom and staggering onto the field.

He corrects himself before falling, however, and stumbles over to line up in the targets.

From there, it's... fairly standard fare. He quickly checks his sub-machine gun, takes a deep breath, and then lines up the targets one by one, firing short bursts at each of them.

There are no world-quaking explosions or accidents.

        Yet.

[Radio: (G) Global] Gabriel actually chokes a little.

Outside> Milan strikes Target 1 with his Fn P90 attack.

Outside> Milan strikes Target 2 with his Fn P90 attack.

Outside> Milan strikes Target 3 with his Fn P90 attack.

Outside> Milan misses Target 4 with his Fn P90 attack.

Outside> Milan strikes Target 5 with his Fn P90 attack.

[Radio: (G) Global] Techno transmits, "You all right, there Miss?"

Outside>        Milan promptly flees into the stands. :(

Milan has arrived.

Outside>

"...How.. but.. but.. Milan scored an *11*? And nothing horrifically died?

I'm not sure if I'm disappointed or relieved. ....Serges?"

Elec Man's is BETS

Javelin Whitetail climbs slowly back into the infected stands, rifle slung over her shoulder. She slumps back into her seat, head hung over, crying just a little from frustration.

Hail happened to be watching Jav, and... seemed concerned.

Serges has left.

Outside> Serges has arrived.

Outside>

With his name called, Serges stands, and his hoverplatform comes near him, almost instantly. He steps on it, and hovers down to the field. He gets off the platform, and takes out, not a bomb, or a strange device like he usually has. Instead, it's a hunting rifle. The kind the British use in fox-hunting, except for modern times. Tally-ho! He takes aim, and with careful precision, fires a round each at the target. Is he making a statement by using a simple gun, and saving his other attacks? Maybe. He hovers back to his place.

Outside> Serges strikes Target 1 with his Generic Ranged attack.

Outside> Serges strikes Target 2 with his Generic Ranged attack.

Outside> Serges strikes Target 3 with his Generic Ranged attack.

Outside> Serges strikes Target 4 with his Generic Ranged attack.

Outside> Serges misses Target 5 with his Generic Ranged attack.

Tactical Raccoon, though his facial expression is unreadable through his gas mask, seems to have empathy for Jav. He rests his rifle across his lap and pats Jav on the shoulder, not sure if she'll accept his gesture as it is meant or not. "It is better to try than not try," he says.

Serges has arrived.

Outside>

"And the old guy.. scores less than Milan. What is going *on* here? From the judges, next up is.. William Bayliss IV.."

William Bayliss IV has left.

Outside> William Bayliss IV has arrived.

Outside> William Bayliss IV practically leaps from the stands when his name is called, hustling down to the shooting range with a wave for the audience. Given how red he is, though, he still looks nervous - and this is borne out by how when he starts to say something, he stutters for a moment instead before bursting out with, "I'm gonna kick your rear so hard, your mother's going to have to make a saving throw against pain!" He has been hanging out with Milan for too long. As if to make up for his embarassment by getting it over as quickly as possible, he simply waves his staff in the general direction of the targets, and a horde of white, yellow and blue energy darts erupt from the orb. They hover for a moment, and then fly erratically at the targets, weaving and twisting over and around one another.

Milan scrambles to his feet and screams, "COME ON WILL!"

        And then he collapses.

Outside> William Bayliss IV strikes Target 1 with his Magic Missile attack.

Outside> William Bayliss IV misses Target 2 with his Magic Missile attack.

"....Who keeps letting these people in here? What ever happened to *guns*? Geez, sometimes this job is... anyhow. Next up, it seems, is Gemini Man! ...Please don't use eggs or something."

Gemini Man has left.

Outside> Gemini Man has arrived.

Outside> After screwing up this event...pretty much every year so far, Gemini Man has come to view going out to the Sharpshooting range, then getting blistering drunk, as a sort of inevitable yearly tradition. This year the strategy was, however, slightly different.

The twins are actually going to try and work together.

Two Geminis step down from the benches, and, then, one of them steps foward, aiming his arm cannon at the first of the targets and staring down the barrel. He balances the gun, flat on his 'off' arm. "We'll look bad if we take this seriously, and still mess up," says the second Gemini, as his brother lines up the shot. "It's like I've been saying. I'm a better shot than you are. Just... give me another view, and I can hit them." The second Gemini nods, and, looks down the line at the targets in the range. Having a second place to look from was at least a great help to the depth perception.

The shooter, who, since there are no rules against this, happens to be the hologram of the two, pauses another moment, then, when he feels sure of the distance and the target, he fires a blast. He steps to the next target, and continues this pattern, aim, pause, shoot.

Javelin Whitetail trembles under Tactical's hand--her teeth are gritted, even though she's wiping her optics with the back of a hand. "'tis frustrating," she says mutedly. Oh, she's frustrated alright--well. A bit of training with her new weapon, and then maybe she'll be able to compete with everyone else out there.

Isaac has left.

Outside> Isaac has arrived.

Outside> Isaac's turn is up as he heads out to the firing line with the sniper rifle that picked out from the Hunter's armory. He says nothing as he reaches the firing line and unshoulders the weapon. He looks over the target and scanns them over for a moment. He gets into a firing postion and takes aim at the targets, he fires five shots, one at each target, then he shoulders his weapon and walks away from the firing line back to his seat in the stands.

Serges looks a bit irritated, too. "That was not what I expected..

Tactical Raccoon pats Jav a few more times. "I think you did well for a non-combat unit," he says. "even combat units have difficulty with this event."

Onyx Reptilia has left.

Outside> Onyx Reptilia has arrived.

Outside>

Slowly, the metallic green reptilian reploid stands from her position, sectioned off in a clear area, others choosing not to have set beside her. Being called to her turn, she makes her way down and steps into place. Both arms are then raised and dipped into the air out to her side, where they ripple into the air like water. When she withdraws each, she is holding a twin pair of Gunmetal Green sidearms. A flick of her thumb over each and the safeties are removed. And then, she levels both at the first target. Without a care or a word, she simply squeezes the trigger off and then gracefully lets her arms flow along to the next, alternating between each Pistol for the shots to each target. Each shot issues forth a loud concussion, causing the air in front of each barrel to light up with a brief flame and a ripple of heat as the chambers lurch backwards and reloads a new shell into the chambers. And once the final shell is fired, she lowers the pistols and turns back to the stands, making her way back to her seat.

"10 points for Onyx! Not bad, considering that pistols aren't exactly a weapon well known for long-range accuracy. This match is looking to be a lot closer than some would have expected, given the wide variety of competitors in it. One of the less likely competitors is up next, in the form of Assault Kangaroo!"

Assault Kangaroo has left.

Outside> Assault Kangaroo has arrived.

Outside>

Once he was called upon, Assault Kangaroo performed the same stunt he did in the Sandbag Hit: He leapt off the stands with a grunt, and landed on his feet where the other competitors had gone. Standing tall, he eyed the targets with a grin, and immediately got to work.

He leapt into the air, and pointed the bottoms of his feet toward two targets. Immediately, they propelled from his upper leg toward the two targets. Assault landed in a handstand as his forelegs returned to his upper legs, and then he turned around in his handstand to face the remaining targets, before launching his forelegs again toward two more. Once they returned, he put his feet back on the ground, then flipped backwards into the air, and fired off his forelegs for one last time at the final target.

Landing in a handstand once more, he put his feet on the ground once they returned to him, bowed, and leapt to the front of the stands, before leaping back to his seat. Just like he did in the Sandbag Hit. Perhaps, however, he had more luck this time than in the other event...

"Aaaaand since he doesn't seem to be coming down, next in the draw line is Jonathan Moriarty!"

Outside> Jonathan Moriarty has arrived.

Outside> Jonathan Moriarty stands, striding out to the target field. This is the first round, so he feels like being particularly cheap here - he reaches into his suit jacket, withdrawing a grenade. He pulls the pin and tosses it. There's nothing very special about that, after all. It's just a normal grenade. He turns and heads back to the stands as the grenade lands near one of the targets. He's not very worried, after all, the explosion should be more than sufficient to tag them all. That's the fun of frag grenades - they throw all KINDS of fun things at everything near their explosion.

Outside> Crossfire - no, not the Defiant - steps forward as bidden by the announcer, large boots thumping with authority against the turf. Bridgit pulls the armor up to a stop, and surveys the layout. "Right. Well, here goes nothin'," she decides with a shrug. She saw the sniper rifles in the stands, after all - and she's just a tank mechanic with twitchy reflexes.

Smoothly, Crossfire's left hand extends out, sliding down towards the left boot, where a door pops open and ejects out a very large revolver. The Revolver Cannon is picked up casually by the Armor's hand, and hefted up, one hand on the butt, single finger extended out to the trigger, the second cupping underneath to steady it. The head cocks slightly, as if sighting down the barrel.

The trigger is squeezed five times, the arms barely moving to adjust for the change in target positions. Five times, shots ring out. And then the Revolver Cannon is holstered once more, Crossfire turning and heading back to the stands to await the tale of the tape.

Jonathan Moriarty nods in return, leaning over to respond.

[Radio: (C) Chat] Assault Kangaroo transmits, "What did you think of my stunt?"

[Radio: (G) Global] Pharaoh Man transmits, "That's actually lighter fluid, but close enough."

Tactical Raccoon has left.

Outside> Tactical Raccoon has arrived.

Outside>

Tactical advances down through the stands when he is called, carrying a long-barreled anti-armor rifle in his hands. Depleted uranium is a reassuring thing for Tactical, as he can predict the Coriolis force's work on the rounds with greater accuracy. Privately, Tactical is nervous about performing on the world stage: he much prefers the obscurity of a belltower or a blind.

The raccoon moves into the firing position, chambering the clip into the special anti-armor rifle and going through the motions of adjusting the sight and checking the weapon for any flaws. Once he's confident all is well, Tactical begins to systematically fire one round at each target. You can time it down to the tenth of a second: 3.2 seconds between each target, just enough time to aim and shoot.

Once Tactical has completed the clip, he marches back into the stands without showing any visible reaction to his performance.

"See? Tolda. What, did you think the announcer saying you'd do good was a curse or something? Well, just to prove you wrong... CUT MAN! You're going to score a perfect. Get down here!"

Ebony Fox just calmly files her nails, as usual.

Tactical Raccoon walks back into the stands without any visible reaction to his perfect round, calmly returning to his seat. He begins breaking down his rifle, cleaning out the components before returning them to subspace.

Gus continues working security. Fair warning - you probably don't want to say anything too sensitive when he's around. He /digs/ playing Big Brother in areas with lots of crowds, ie, here. A defining factor as to why he's volunteering tonight.

He stands up, cracks his knuckles loudly(poor joints.) and goes to the show-off area. He stands in front of the targets, standing still for a moment. Then, he slowly reach for five Cutrangs and tosses them one after the other quickly, only giving a flick of the wrist for each! "...You just *had* to prove me wrong, didn't you, Cut Man? Still, 13 is a very good score! Almost certain to let the old B&C champion sharpshooter advance to the next round! Our next competitor, from down along the border, is Bowie: Texas Ranger!"

Bridgit Cascio stomps back quietly to come to a rest in the general vicinity of the rest of Interpol's representatives. Bridgit is quite amused.

Bowie has left.

Outside> Bowie has arrived.

Outside> Bowie has been here the entire time. Really. Except for the hat, he's a pretty non-descript person. He makes his way down from the stands, takes his place at the line, and draws a pistol. A Colt Peacemaker, to be exact. Bracing the gun over his offhand, he sqaures himself up, takes an unnecessary breath, releases it, and fires.

Cut Man sits down at his seats and let out an annoyed groan. "Damnit. THIRTEEN?" He comments outloud. This is going to be fuuuuuuuun.

Tactical Raccoon unemotionally cleans and returns his weapon to subspace before bringing out a different rifle from his inventory: an anti-tank rifle, which he begins to clean. "Interesting choice of words, Obergefreiter," he says. "But this is not a true test of my skills, nor yours. Shooting randomly moving targets is not the same as shooting down a person. Random targets aren't so easily predicted."

Outside>

"And another perfect round! It's gotta be the hat! How can it *not* be the hat!? But that could spell doom for Ebony Fox, who's up next! Her hair is *way* too big to hold a hat like that up!"

Ebony Fox has left.

Outside> Ebony Fox has arrived.

Outside> Ebony Fox stands quietly, and puts away her nail file. Striding purposefully out of the stands, the agent takes her place. Drawing the pistol at her hip, Cleo leans her weight back to compensate for recoil, free arm dangling to one side as the weapon is leveled upon the targets.

Five shots are fired off quickly, one for each target.

And then, blowing away the wisp of smoke from the pistol's barrel, Ebony turns back towards the stands.

Outside>

"12 points for Ebony Fox - maybe the afro's almost good enough to make up for the lack of hat? Who knows? Things fall next to another of the competition's favorites, Fairy Leviathan!"

Fairy Leviathan has left.

Outside> Fairy Leviathan has arrived.

Outside>

Fairy Leviathan walks down out of the stands, face emotionless, as she prepares for the opening shots. She takes up her position at the marked off area, reaching into her long, flowing black duster. She pulls out a Soviet Tactical Short Armament, the E-91 (For those of you in the audience, If you've played Megaman Zero, it's the same as his buster).

She loads in a specialized ice bullet, and fires at the first target. A casing flies out. She loads in a second normal bullet, and fires at the second target. Another shell. She loads in a hollow point slug, and fires at the third. For the fourth, she reaches into her coat, removing a egg-shaped grenade with loading pin, clicks it into the muzzle of the E-91, which launches it like a nerf football dart towards the fourth target. And for the last target? Why, DU rounds of course. Fire.

[Radio: (G) Global] Dust Man transmits, "Wait.. what?"

"A test of skill? Nein. Nor do I think it to be.." She takes a look at her pistol, "Thus is why I'm not even dirtying my rifle.. This is more like.. training. In any case, though.. it looks like you will probably be moving on to the next round without me. Luck, will not give you, though." She smiles, "I force you to rely on the skill you do not wish to test. Hmm?"

Outside>

"12 points for Leviathan - a respectable score, most certainly enough to advance. By the looks of it, this is going to be a very tight advancement for everybody! Let's see how little Gabriel does in her attempts!"

Javelin Whitetail grits her teeth as one after another person walks up to the targets with no problem. If it weren't for the peace mandate that B&C has...she raises her head as Tactical Raccoon returns. She's not really glaring at /him/, just glaring in general. "'tis always the ones with power, isn't it," she mutters bitterly. "If I were a fighter..."

But then again, that's why she's sitting in the infected stands. She grasps her rifle, no longer slung across her back; actually scratching the silver on her joints by holding it too tightly.

Gabriel has left.

Outside> Gabriel has arrived.

Outside>

Gabriel flickers out into being with a blink in front of the targets. She pulls out a rifle. She aims the rifle. She fires it once. Then she fires it again, then she fires it again and again and again! She goes for the targets in backwards order too. How WEIRD.

Bowie returns to his seat. After a moment, he opens up the pistol, clears out the spare bullet, and tucks it into his breast pocket. From his belt are taken another set of bullets, which are tucked into the empty chambers.

Outside>

"Another 10, this time for Ms. Gabriel. Maybe she should have shot them in the other order? Who knows. Second thoughts are never a good thing in a competition such as this! Next up with the draw: Hailstorm Eagle!"

Hailstorm Eagle has left.

Outside> Hailstorm Eagle has arrived.

Outside>

Hailstorm, when called, made her way down into the arena via her wings. How they shone... but that's not important. The rifle remained maglocked to her back, just beneath her wingbases, only separating as she landed, and looked to the targets. Five of them.

(Well, here goes...) She looked really nervous.

Regardless, she knelt, furling her wings, and aiming downrange... with a single pointed talon, resting on the opposite forearm. The pointing handtalon began to glow brightly as she dimmed overall, and then it lazed a bright beam at the target. She repeated for the other four...

And once that was done, moved back to the stands.

Hail just sorta hangs her head on seeing her work.. and of course, goes back to her seat. That -hurt-.

Hailstorm Eagle has arrived.

"Luck is for humans," Tactical says, closing back up the anti-tank rifle and resting it on his lap. "I accept your well wishes, however. Thank you." He looks to Jav. "I'm just a soldier. This is what I was made to do. Power is something half reputation and half action."

Hailstorm Eagle has arrived.

Storm Owl watches Hailstorm closely as she returns. Storm, naturally, does not give her any 'you tried your best!' soccer mom style nonsense. Instead he merely says, "I would suggest several hours a day using the training simulator for target practice, Sergeant."

Bravura looks up in the direction of where the other mavericks are talking, "I really do hope some of you make it to the medal round. I'd hate to be surrounded by those peons out there as I recieve my gold medal."

And adding on to TacRac's response, Onyx also replies to Javelin, "And besides, dear.. what is power without skill? Useless is all... if one cannot control the power they have, it is nothing. It is precission that makes one powerful.. not might."

Outside>

"Ouch. Showing her inexperience, Hailstorm's assault just misses half the targets, leaving here with a score of *just* 4. It looks like that's the end of the competition for her right there, sadly. Too bad, but good luck next year! Perhaps here to hit the target Gabriel missed, Dr. Sarah Fairchild is drawn by the judges!"

Dr. Sarah Fairchild has left.

Outside> Dr. Sarah Fairchild has arrived.

Outside> Sarah stands up as her name is called, drawing up to the designatedf firing area. She stops there, not pulling any weapons - primarily because she's sharpshooting with her drones. She closees her eyes to focus on the targetting sytems within the drones, allowing them to draw a bead on all five targets. She's decided to do this quickly - she designed saturation attacks into the drones, it's time to use them. A low roar echoes across the area as Echo the green Sonic drone begins to work its fell magic,

and then the yellow air drone pops open, revaling a massive fan assembly which whips up the area breifly into a hurricane-force gale. The end result is a combined sonic-air attack aimed at all five targets, trying to deal with them all at once.

Hailstorm returns to her seat, her expression... completely blank. Dead giveaway that she turned that system off. When Storm speaks, she replies, "So much for saving the rifle for the later rounds...." she sounds more dejected than annoyed. "So, from... four hours... up to about eight, you think?"

Outside>

"Well, she hit the #5 target, but she missed the #3 - for a total of 12 points. On the scoreboard you can see the cluster forming in the 12-13 range now, as we draw towards the end of the first round. Another doctor draws the next lot, though this time from Neo-Arcadia. Cerveau?"

Cerveau has left.

Outside> Cerveau has arrived.

Outside> Cerveau walks out from the stands, his weapon held over one shoulder. His look is stern, apparently his mind is focused solely on the task at hand. He knows if he wishes to succeed at this endeavor it will take his full focus. As he steps into position, he lowers the gun from his shoulder, and takes aim. He releases five shots rather quickly, only stopping to readjust his aim.

Cerveau walks back into the stands, looking somewhat depressed. He should have done better than that. He returns to his seat, emptying the empty casings and sliding his weapon into its sub-space pocket.

Outside>

"Another solid 12, though with those first two misses, it did look nerve-wracking for the Frenchman! Let's hope for his sake that it was just first-shot jitters, because it could be devastating for him to do that again in the later rounds! With just four contestants left, the judges are almost out of random draws... and pull Shark Man!"

[Radio: (C) Chat] Hailstorm Eagle transmits, "Dangit..."

Gus continues overseeing everything... so far, no foul. So far, plenty of things going into his ears that probably should not. But hey, where's Sheena now? Crud. Well, he's not going to be going after her just yet - the competition's not over yet, and neither is the volunteer job. Not that he minds it.

[Radio: (C) Chat] Hailstorm Eagle transmits, "So far I'm placing second to

Javelin Whitetail leans back--at least she has enough sense to consider Onyx and Tactrical's words. That's akin to what Sigma told her... "I may be findin' me a trainer when this is all over." Weapons training wouldn't hurt--and in today's world, it's hardly an /odd/ skill for a reploid to have.

William Bayliss IV has partially disconnected.

Outside>

Magnet Man leaps out from the stands, grinning with his chance to impress all who watch him. Mid-leap, he blinks away, only to reappear an instant later at the top of the shooting range. He reaches into subspace and whips out a quintet of throwing knives. With a glance, these float out of his hand and float before him, spinning gracefully. He points a finger out to each target in order, then nods subtley. With that one motion, the knives are off, flying in five separate directions at once, each knife spinning on

its axis as it soars through the air.

Outside>

"A 14 for Magnet Man - pretty darn good. But not perfect! It must be that he was lacking the shark power... Anyhow. Barrage Raptor, Queen of Destruction is up next!"

Barrage Raptor changes into her Pilot armor.

Barrage Raptor has left.

Outside> Barrage Raptor has arrived.

Magnet Man has arrived.

Magnet Man has disconnected.

"There are many places to go for that," Tactical says. Bravura draws his attention afterward. "Yes. It'd be a shame, wouldn't it." You'd swear he smiled.

Outside> Barrage Raptor steps out onto the battlefield, rifle already in hand. She's actually not wearing her bulky armor this time, but her sleeker, rarely seen pilot armor. Go figure. Anyway, stepping out, she raises the rifle, and fires off five quick shots, one right after the other, the rifle sweeping across the group until all five have been shot.

Attention brought to Bravura, Onyx tilts her head a bit. Unfortunately for him, she's not much for the cocky types. She does give him a wink, though, just because it doesn't hurt to make him -think- she gives a flying flip. "Don't believe I've ever seen him around," she denotes quietly to the one underhead at the moment, however.

Storm Owl nods, "At the very least," he says. He'll not be having one of /his/ aerial units performing at anything less than 100% efficiency! Of course, Hailstorm is new to Repliforce, so he realizes she's bound to have difficulties. Storm nods as yet another Repliforcer scores perfect on this little test of dexterity.

Hailstorm is -starting- to look miffed at the displayys going on... then, she shrugs, putting on a forced smile. "Well, no time like the present to start!" And with that? She heads out of the stands.

Outside>

"And another perfect 15! Barrage's accuracy has been improving by leaps and bounds since her first apperance here at Battle and Chase years ago, and it really shows there! And now, our final contestant - Elec Man! Hopefully recovered from the heartbreaking loss four days ago in Central Park, he should be capable of laying down some smack this time!"

Elec Man has left.

Outside> Elec Man has arrived.

"Overconfidence is the greatest enemy" Serges replies to Bravura, suddenly speaking up from his book.

Outside> Elec comes down the stands, appearing relatively tame as far as electricity charge goes - except for his right hand. Sparks shoot out of each finger as he takes his place in front of the targets. He holds his hand out towards the thing, places his thumb on his pinky, and proceeds to do that thing where you snap all of your fingers at once. Power streaks out of his hand in what appears to be a burly cone, bouncing off of itself, the ground, pretty much anything it can hit. Hopefully, it can hit the targets.

"Except the judges have found they made a mistake, and forgot poor little Midi! Please put away the sticks."

Midi has left.

Outside> Midi has arrived.

Jonathan Moriarty has disconnected.

Outside>        Stepping down from the stands is one of the most unimposing characters in the entire tournament. One has to wonder what Midi is even doing in this event, one that has absolutely nothing to do with his supposed field. Then again, in an event that requires concentration and dexterity above all else, perhaps it IS good practice for him. Walking up to the plate, he takes out a small device, which LOOKS like some sort of repair tool one would use to repair damaged circuitry. Surprisingly, when Midi

takes aim, a few small fireballs shoot OUT of the device. None look particularly powerful, but if one thing doesn't matter in this event it's power.

"And Midi scores another 13 to tie Elec Man and *actually* end the round. Now, hold on just a second more.."

Bravura would smirk, had he a mouth to smirk with, "Oh really now? I can quite assure you, that I always put forth my best. Regardless of how obvious it is that I'll win." Cocky? Nah, not really, he's just confident and likes to show off. He's a nice guy once you get to know him. No, really.

The scoreboard lights up.

15: Bravura, Barrage Raptor, Bowie, Bridgit Cascio, Gemini Man, Isaac, Jonathan Moriarty, Snipe Anteater, Tactical Raccoon

14: Magnet Man

13: Cut Man, Elec Man, Midi, Shadow Man

12: Cerveau, Dr. Sarah Fairchild, Ebony Fox, Fairy Leviathan, Hien, Storm Owl

Jonathan Moriarty has connected.

Cut Man gives a little jig on his seat as the scoarboard lights up!

Dust Man looks sad. Aww...

Serges hmmphs, gets on his hoverplatform, and leaves.

William Bayliss IV has disconnected.

Gus Midland shows up momentarily at the bottom of the steps to help usher those

cut-off out, if they plan on leaving. Hey, there's tight security to ensure safe passage for the losers, too.

Crossfire, just once, flashes its shoulder-mounted lights. Then shuts them off again. Bridgit is vaguely pleased with the result, apparently.

Gemini Man, or rather, the clone, looks relieved, even though he knew for sure he was up for the next round. He lets out a sigh, and starts checking his weapon again for calibration. A relatively useless gesture given his nature, but he's just a bit nervous. He doesn't want to waste a perfect score.

William Bayliss IV has connected.

Midi just grins for a moment, and resumes fidgiting impatiently in his seat like any kid is prone to do.

A smile is given the scoreboard and Onyx rises, "And there you have it." She pats TacRac on his shoulder, lightly, "Do what you do best, hmm?" And with that, she turns about and steps out of the stands.

Javelin Whitetail grits her teeth. She might as well stay--she needs to talk to Dr. Fairchild afterwards. But her fingers are itching on that shotgun, and her eyes are flickering angrily.

"Of course," Tactical says, checking the sight on his rifle.

Onyx Reptilia has disconnected.

Storm Owl inclines his head and leans back in his seat. He was very impressed by the firepower of the other sharpshooters out there. But still, Storm Owl is going for a medal, and so he plans on keeping his most accurate weaponry for later on in the event. Assuming there /is/ a later on for him.

Shadow Man, in counterpoint, is not at all nervous even though he scored two points below his commander. The ninja just sits in the stands, smoking his cigarette, and generally not contributing in any way to the various ruckus going on in the stands.

Ebony Fox smirks slightly, and puts her nail file up. Time to get serious, disco style.

Bravura sighs slightly, "It would seem, you and I will have to defend the honor of the Coalition alone, rather disappointing."

Leviathan smirks.

Cerveau sighs with relief, but then tries to cover it up. He draws an assault rifle from his sub-space locker and fiddles with it a bit, then returns it to its proper place for now.

"Almost isn't fair," Tactical replies, checking his ammunition. Bowie sits there and waits, the very measure of calm. This year he swears that he won't lock up in front of all those people watching the competition.

Outside>

On the field, the targets lift into the air and start moving, coasting around the field at a sedate but rather quick pace. This sets up the next round, making things much more challenging for the surviving contestants. The announcer, after pausing for a quick nip because this just is *not* a good day, starts once more. "Now with the second round beginning, the stakes get higher and the shooting gets tougher! Who will make it through this one, and who got here just because of blind luck? 20 contestants remain and our first one is... Barrage Raptor again!

Gus arches a brow as he hears something fishy. He cuts away from helping to escort people out and returns up to the radio equipment to double-check his suspicions.

William Bayliss IV has left.

Barrage Raptor has left.

Storm Owl is once more called upon to shoot at the targets. The war bird hovers down, all the while powering up his famous wing-mounted wind generators. By the time Storm reaches the starting line, there's a gale whipping around him at high speeds. The judges, we'll assume, have disallowed simply blowing the entire area away with a cyclone or two, and thus he has to rely on more straightforward methods. With the winds whirling about, ensuring that nobody's able to get close to him, five blasts of compressed air shoot out from the centre of the storm - one at each target.

"Whoa! Where was he saving *that* one!? Storm Owl with the first perfect of the second round! *Some* people must have been watching those things pretty carefully to figure out the movement patterns. The next draw, and the challenge to live up to that standard, falls to Magnet Man now!"

Javelin Whitetail glares over at the Repliforce section of the stands. You can almost see the little daggers going that way ----->

Tactical Raccoon pats Jav on the shoulder once again, though he doesn't add any commentary.

"And since he seems to be in the bathroom right now... Snipe Anteater!"

Snipe Anteater has left.

Outside> Snipe Anteater has arrived.

Outside>  As Snipe walked back into the Stands after his first strikes at the targets he remained standing as he watches the other contestants taking their shots, Missing and some un expected constants getting perfect scores. He remains silent as he watches the wind conditions change slightly as he hears his name called again for the second round. He slowly draws his launcher and notices his energy reserves are depleted somewhat. He walks towards the range as he falls to his knee and takes aim. He taps with his claw on the side of the launcher as he changes his yield and fires off five blasts of energy towards the targets.

"Ouch. Maybe he should have been a bit more careful with that shooting. Or maybe it was a bad hot dog. Who knows? But Snipe Anteater only scores a 6 this round - likely, that's not gonna be good enough. Picking up where he left off, though, is Gemini Man!"

Gemini Man has left.

Outside> Gemini Man has arrived.

Outside> "You think you can pull this off again?" Gemini Man asks his fellow shooter, as he walks down to help him out.

"I don't know." The hologram lines up the shot. "Does it matter? Shots are harder than before. Switching to long-range setting. I'll try to hit the higher ones on the bounce." "Well...good luck." Gemini folds his arms. "I don't want your luck; I want your eyes." These two are the only people talking while they take shots. Then again, it's what they do. The clone waits, fires a shot, then, steps to the side and lines up again. "Oh. Right." Gemini straightens up, and peers down to the targets on the far side, getting a bead from his second angle. The motion of the targets makes this technique a bit harder.

There's a significant pause to aim between the next two blasts from the holographic clone. Only two more shots are fired, however, instead of the required five. Waiting for the perfect time in the motion cycle of the targets, Gemini lets the near shots deflect off their first position, and hit the targets behind while they are moving upward.

Shadow Man has left.

Outside> Shadow Man has arrived.

Outside> Shadow Man steps out onto the field just as last time. Surveying the targets' new positions and movement patterns, he flicks his wrist, and from a hidden compartment within it five throwing knives pop out in a fan pattern. Sweeping his hand across for each of the five throws, Shadow Man tosses the knives at each target. The third and fourth knives have a spin to them, perhaps intentional and perhaps not, while the others fly straight on like arrows.

Outside>

"Well, if somebody wanted to show up Gemini Man - Shadow Man certainly did it. While perhaps not as fancy as the rebounding shot, it was certainly more effective! Can the next contestant - Neo-Arcadia's premiere sniper, Fairy Leviathan, follow it up again?"

Fairy Leviathan has left.

Outside> Fairy Leviathan has arrived.

Outside>

Leviathan walks out of the stands once more, taking her place, and taking aim. She smirks just a little bit, reaching into her duster, taking out a handful of small round black marbles, throwing them scattershot towards the targets, where they detonate and freeze any target they hit.

Fairy Leviathan has arrived.

Cerveau removes a pistol from sub-space and assembles it, making sure to attach a scope and an extended barrel for this purpose. He works quickly, finishing priming it in a matter of minutes.

Snipe Anteater has disconnected.

Outside>

"Oooooh, *snap*! And Fairy Leviathan unleashes a brutal barrage, slamming all five targets in one go! Quite a showing, and putting her back on top! Keeping up with the pace of two perfect rounds is going to be tough - Ebony Fox is next, and has quite a challenge ahead of her!"

Javelin Whitetail has stopped glaring daggers. Being angry is hard for too long, and besides, there are other fun things to think about. The results still make her wince, though--Sarah's going to have a tough time matching up to all the other competitors. On the bright hand, that means she won't have six more hours to wait. Maybe. Depends on how well the new Director does.

Ebony Fox has left.

Outside> Ebony Fox has arrived.

Outside> Ebony Fox uncrosses her legs, standing. Brushing herself off slightly, Cleo strides out once more to her position before the targets. The competition is getting fierce, it seems. So Ebony is going to have to get...serious. Drawing forth the pistol, she takes the item in both hands, steadying her aim. A moment's concentration as the shots are lined up, and then five sharp cracks of ammunition being discharged. A thin, oval like blast goes flying at each of the designated marks, seeking to cut through it.

And once more, the weapon is holstered, and Ebony walks away calmly.

Bowie has left.

Outside> Bowie has arrived.

Outside> Bowie descends from the stands when called, his face as expressionless as it was the last time. Just as before, he takes his place at the line. He's still using the antique-looking pistol, though he's chambered another set of much more modern ammunition in it. He takes a moment's pause just as before, mentally reciting the gunslinger's creed. Then, the Texan steadies and braces himself, and fires.

Tactical Raccoon has left.

Outside> Tactical Raccoon has arrived.

Outside>

Round 2. Tactical Raccoon expected no less. The Intelligence division has loaded into the Maverick section to give their support to their administrator, as it should be -- he gives them a wave as his name is called and he moves back to the shooting position.

Anti-tank rounds are loaded into his rifle in this round. They have a tendency to drift, but the Battle and Chase forbade the repeated use of fissile material in projectiles. It's an annoyance, but at least it's something he understands. After all, depleted uranium taxes the shields when it punches through the target and threatens to hit the stands.

Tactical doesn't think about his performance while he fires. That's not his style. He lives in the instant of chambering the round, locking onto the target and firing, ignoring any consequences as he moves on to the next victim. One, two, three, four five.

When the last shot is fired, Tactical lifts his rifle, snaps the prongs back onto the stock, collects his ejected brass, rises, and marches back to the waiting area to clean his gun. Once again, he shows no response to his success or failure.

Impassively, Sage watches, from the Neo-Arcadian side of things, not far from Leviathan, though this time, he's seated. He's been here -- if not just silent and stealthy hiddeen. Yay.

Outside>

"Oooooh, and that miss of the #4 may cost Tactical. He's been rock steady so far, though - much the same as the other favorite, Fairy Leviathan. But there's one other big favorite - a *fan* favorite this year, as he has been every other. Cut Man is up next, so all you kids put in your Cutter hats and cheer!"

Cut Man has left.

Outside> Cut Man has arrived.

Outside> Ah yes. Round two. Cut Man has made it that far last year, as well. But it was a fluke. Luck. But this time? Who knows! We'll see in due time! Once his name is called for the 2nd time, the Alpha stops his little jig on his seat, jump down and races toward the showing area. He positions just like earlier, pull out five cutrangs -- bigger, with explosives rigged to them -- and tosses them methodicaly at the targets, one after the other. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM! Then, he returns to the Master section, walking calmly. He does look kind of nervous -- his cutters are clipping irregularly.

Jonathan Moriarty pulls out, from somewhere, a Cutter hat and puts it on.

Outside> Cut Man strikes Target 1 with his Exploding Cutrang attack.

Barrage Raptor has left.

Jonathan Moriarty removes the cutter hat. Tsks. "Supposed to be seven, not six. Damn shame... damn shame."

Outside>

"Well, you can take the hats back off again. Cut Man's luck is still... Cut Man's luck. I guess that 13 in the first round was an omen. Too bad for him. But at least he didn't get hit with a meteor in this event! Drawing in the random lots now is one of Interpol's three remaining shooters in the second round, Bridgit Cascio."

Bridgit Cascio has left.

Outside> Bridgit Cascio has arrived.

Outside> Once again, Crossfire steps down to the turf. The last round? Fluke. Bridgit is sure of it. After all, she's just got a revolver. The redhead pauses a moment as the Power Armor lines up at the line, and pulls her glasses from her nose. Idly, she presses a button on the console in front of her, and as there's a ratcheting noise from inside the left leg of Crossfire, she simply cleans the lenses with the corner of her shirt.

Again, Crossfire's left arm drops down smoothly, reaches, grasps the butt of the Revolver Cannon, draws it, and aims as it did before, cupping the butt of the pistol to steady it. It fires five more times, but this time the bullets are green, and whatever impacts on the targets... sizzle and smoke. Those are some ugly slugs, seriously.

As Crossfire shoots, Bridgit wonders if she should put her glasses back on. That might have been a good idea. Oops.

But too late, the five shots have been fired. And with the job done, the Power Armor turns and stomps back to the stands, stoic as ever a machine ever was. Which is a change from how its pilot /usually/ is.

Bridgit Cascio has arrived.

Outside>

"With a 10, Cascio puts herself firmly in the middle of the pack. It's heading up, folks, but all the scores are skewed right now because of those three perfect 15s up on the board! Can Hien make it four perfects?"

Hien has left.

Outside> Hien has arrived.

Outside>

Getting into the second round is, of course, very cool. Hien feels very privelaged to get here. Wandering back to the targets quickly, Hien allows his focus to become sharp on /all/ of the objects - not just the first one or last one - again. Then... He places the Mirror Cipher on his back. Yes, you heard. Once it's not moving, due to the fabric pouch he has two ciphers are projected into his hands, and thrown a the targets using the side grip in a boomerang like fashion. Quite a few are thrown, however they are projected into Hien's fingers again just as quickly as they slip from his fingers, and dissapear a few seconds after they hit or miss the target.

Outside>

"Yes, yes he can. Well, that was pretty impressive to watch, making it *four* perfect scores now for the next round. Our next shooter is Mr. Perfect Grenade from the first round, Jonathan Moriarty!"

Jonathan Moriarty has left.

Outside> Jonathan Moriarty has arrived.

Outside> Jonathan Moriarty nods to himself, again rising from the stands and heading out to the target field. For his second round, he's using his standard sidearm - a .450 caliber heavy pistol. Same common caliber, more powder behind the round for better speed and penetration. He reaches into his suit jacket, drawing it and swiftly placing a single bullet into each target as they move around; he promptly holsters it again, turning about-face and returning to the stands. Next round he'll actually use a real gun to knock those targets down, but for now his sidearm should more than suffice.

"A 10 for Moriarty, setting him at the brink as well. It still isn't clear who's gonna move on in the pack, things are just too tight! Bravura is up next, trying to repeat his previous perfect and secure a definite advance to the third!"

Bravura has left.

Outside> Bravura has arrived.

Outside> Bravura walks towards the shooting area for the second time. As he does so, he keeps stooping and picking something up. He finally reaches the shooting area and reveals what he was stooping to pick up, rocks, five small ones at that. The maverick tosses them high into the air. As the rocks descend Bravura goes into action, the first one he sends flying at a target with an open palmed punch, the second rock meets the same fate with the other hand, the third rock recieves a head butt, the fourth is pirveliged with a standing side kick, and the final rock is slammed home with a spinning heal kick. Show off much? Bravura? Naaaaah.

"Wow, what a showoff. Still, 13 for Bravura shows he's in a pretty good position to move on now! To follow that up, Midi is getting the call, so hopefully he can pull off his own string of hits!"

Midi has left.

Outside> Midi has arrived.

Outside>        Returning for round 2 (surprised?) Midi steps back up to the ontestant's position, briefly giving a quick wave to the other members of Interpol in the audience. This time he takes out.... a... labtop? Opening up the top of it he quickly hits a few keys... just what is he playing at? Simple. After putting in his series of keystrokes he closes it and turns it to its side, and inserts a disc. He THEN aims it at the first target... and the disc is shot out at it. He repeats this for the other four and returns to his seat. That was certainly... interesting.

Barrage Raptor has arrived.

Bravura sits back down in the stands and kicks back, he did miss one target, which is quite aggrivating, but even he can't be perfect all the time.

Outside>

"And Midi scores another perfect, guarantying himself a spot in the third round with the might of CDs! Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, RIAA! Oh, they're gonna be mad about *that* one. The Frenchman comes up next - Cerveau!"

Outside>

"..Ouch. Well, with a score of 7, Cerveau is already mathematically eliminated from getting to round 3. Not too bad for a doctor, though! Speaking of doctors, Interpol's new director and household weapons designer, Dr. Sarah Fairchild, is up now!"

[Radio: (G) Global] Sawsoff transmits, "See, that's crap too."

Dr. Sarah Fairchild has left.

Hien is stoic. Fear him.

Outside> Sarah is called once more, and smiling a litlte at managing to make it this far, she steps down from the stands. Her drones scatter, and again the yellow drone flies high - but this time it's joined by the indigo drone, instead. Sarah stands there, while the indigo drone hums, electrifying the very air around the targets. Then the yellow drone deploys its fans again, and whips the electric current into a maelstrom of crackling electricity - a separate sphere of electric power, each centered on a different target. Gabriel waves a flag with Mimos on it. She blinks, glances to the flag, and then quickly swaps it for a Sarah Fairchild flag.

[Radio: (G) Global] Pharaoh Man transmits, "Or that."

Outside>

Magnet Man stands up from his seat, brushing imaginary dust off his hands as he prepares to make his mark on round 2. This time, he leaps up into the air and simply floats down to the designated area, landing softly. With a sly grin, he throws both arms up into the air, pulling at the very sky itself. Then, he clenches his fists and pulls his arms to his chest, his eyes shut with the effort of drawing all the energy he can into himself. With a yell, he throws his arms outward and a wave of yellow energy flies

out from himself, sweeping towards the targets.

Magnet Man has arrived.

Javelin Whitetail cheers for the death of Robot Masters! ---wait, did she do that out loud?<

Magnet Man shakes a fist at Javelin.

One Gemini is tapping his feet in a combination of nervousness and impatience. The other...trying to think positive, is envisioning a medal. But the competition is high. It looks like Shadow Man and himselves are the Gammas moving on in this event.

Tactical Raccoon cleans his gun. Apparently so.

Outside>

"And Magnet Man closes out the second round with an 8! That ends these shooters, so please, if you will, a moment while the judges do the final tabulation.."

Fairy Leviathan relaxes in her chair, crossing her legs.

Cut Man is mad.

Hien hopes his crotch magic doesn't fail him now...

Techno is in the stands, in the Civilian section. His red eyes look across the stands, and he narrows them.. looking for a particular dweed.

Bowie sits there, fitting more shells into his pistol.

Fairy Leviathan will pants Hien later and remove his crotch magic with a gun.

Hien is afraid. Very afraid.

Gus, slightly inebriated from the free tap, continues his arguably careful watch. Maybe it's caerful. Maybe he's just staring out into space. Whatever the case, it's Gus being himself.

Jonathan Moriarty meanwhile just watches the board.

Shadow Man keeps smoking with his other hand resting on his knee. Smoking is good for you, really.

Hien is too pretty to smoke. He pats Mini-Hien, however, who has appear out of nowhere.

Elec Man has disconnected.

Sage Harpuia will be assisting Leviathan with that. And a camera. Humiliation must be saved.

[Radio: (G) Global] Cut Man transmits, "I SWEAR it's that damn 13 that jinxed me!"

[Radio: (G) Global] Cut Man transmits, "How the hell did I missed something that slow!?"

Outside>

The scoreboard lights up.

15: Dr. Sarah Fairchild, Fairy Leviathan, Hien, Midi, Shadow Man, Storm Owl

13: Bravura

12: Bowie, Gemini Man

11: Isaac, Tactical Raccoon

--CUT OFF--

10: Bridgit Cascio, Jonathan Moriarty

8: Barrage Raptor, Magnet Man

7: Cerveau, Ebony Fox, Elec Man

6: Cut Man, Snipe Anteater

[Radio: (G) Global] Retro Packrat transmits, "Or was a sign you were jinxed to begin with?"

Jonathan Moriarty snaps his fingers.

Fairy Leviathan pats Jon on the shoulder. "It's only when you're shooting live targets that it matters."

"Barely," Tactical says to himself, putting away his anti-tank rifle and talking out an assault rifle. He slides the scope into place and starts to calibrate it.

Jonathan Moriarty nods in response. "True enough. And so long as they don't douse me in napalm, I'm good to go."

Sage Harpuia says, "Quite so, Jonathan. Next year, I'll have to compete as well.."

Cut Man grunts. He knew and excepted that to happen. Letting out a string of curses, the alpha leap up to his feets, cut an hole into air itself and leap thru, vanishing!

Techno continues to search for Midi. He had plans.

Jonathan Moriarty looks toward Harpuia and gives a brief nod. "I look forward to that contest, sir."

Javelin Whitetail recovers herself, and nudges Tactical Raccoon. "Ye seem to be doin' well so far..." She eyes the weapons with mild interest.

"Missing the fourth target was unacceptable," Tactical says, as he works on sighting his rifle on various objects to test the focus. "I got greedy, and I paid for it. This time I'll be more diligent."

Midi is... minding his own business near the center of the stands, near an isle so he has easy access to jump back down when his name is called.

Shadow Man checks his utility belt to make sure he's ready. Not that he's ever /not/ ready, but there's no harm in making sure.

Cerveau returns to his seat, upset with himself. His aim is better than that, and he knows it. He was too careless and didn't use his more accurate weapons. He returns the pistol to sub-space and sits down.

Outside>

The moving targets speed up, and start rotating, showing faces to the shooters now which lack the bullseyes - sides which don't count if hit. Things are now outright tricky, as the targets bob, weave, rotate and generally are troublesome. "And we're ready for the third round! With 11 competitors remaining, those who go on from here will be entering into the medal round, where it becomes all-or-nothing! We're gonna be seeing some

pretty hard moves here, and it's going to take both luck *and* skill to get through this one! First up is Bravura, who better do better than just pulling out rocks!"

Bravura has left.

Outside> Bravura has arrived.

Javelin Whitetail peers, and idly wonders how many rounds it is before the targets start shooting back.

Outside> Bravura comes down from the stands yet again and takes his place at the shooting area. No picking up rocks this time. No instead he advances directly to his position, no playing around now, its all buisness for this round. The maverick's right arm converts into a arm cannon and a narrow beam fires from the barrel 5 times.

Tactical Raccoon lowers his rifle to watch Bravura's progress.

Storm Owl is all alone... lone... lone... n.... o/~ One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do; Two can be as bad as one; it's the loneliest number... since the number one o/~ Storm Owl leans back in his seat and frowns, concentrating on the movements of the targets.

Outside> Bravura strikes Target 4 with his Sniper Laser attack.

Outside> Bravura strikes Target 5 with his Sniper Laser attack.

Bravura has arrived.

Outside>

"Now that's not messing around! Bravura sets the bar high, hitting a perfect 15 score! Can the others keep up? It's up to Isaac to show if he can or not!"

Magnet Man has disconnected.

Being the sneaky Ninja Imitator that he is, Techno slides underneath the bleachers and he makes his descent towards Midi's location. The small tyke attempts to keep his mind completely clear, as if to make sure Midi doesn't detect him.

Bravura sits back down in his seat, quite pleased with the results, by his count, this most likely puts him in the medal round. Ofcourse, there was never a doubt.

Isaac has left.

Outside> Isaac has arrived.

Outside> Isaac has just squeeked through to the next round by the skin of his teeth to the next round and Isaac returns the the firing line, and has the amused though of how just making it this far has upset the odds makers. "Oooooh, and Isaac's luck finally runs out, as he scores a 6. At this point in the competition, that's just not going to be enough. Tough luck for him. Better luck, perhaps, for Dr. Sarah Fairchild, who gets the third shot of the third round!"

Javelin Whitetail cheers again!

Dr. Sarah Fairchild has left.

Outside> Dr. Sarah Fairchild has arrived.

Gabriel Cheers Sarah on again! She hit all of them last time, maybe she will again! She better, or she's out of the family!

Outside> Sarah steps forward once more as her name is called, and her drones are in action almost before she's there. But not quite - she steps to the line /just/ as the drones activate their attack program. Motes of energy form in the air around each target thanks to the laser-light, and then these energy spheres flash-ignite from the fire drone. Then these motes all converge on the targets, a maelstrom of fire and energy!

"And that's another perfect for Dr. Fairchild! This is going to be a harsh competition for the medals now, though getting there is even tougher with the bar being set so high! Storm Owl draws the fourth shot, and he's gonna need all the luck he can get!"

Storm Owl hovers down from the stands for the third time. This is the furthest he's gotten in just about any other event thus far, and his perfect score last time gives him hope for this. Sharpshooting is really right up his alley. As his ranged attacks are pretty limited to winds, gales, and cyclones (oh my!), Storm Owl selects that as his method of attack once again. The winds pick up, and dust flies in each and every direction. And, like last time, five bursts of air shoot out from the middle of it all, streaking towards the targets.

"Oh! And A nearly perfect round, foiled by one unlucky shot! 10 points for Storm Owl, but he's still very much in the running. Can Hien, who's up next, beat that score?"

Javelin Whitetail pauses. Then, sheepishly, removes her hat and strips the javelin from her rifle; hooks the hat around it, and waves it up like a flag.

Hien has left.

Outside> Hien has arrived.

Outside>

Whoa- ho! Round three. Things are certainly looking up for Hien. This time walking up to the starting position with a cocky, perhaps dooming swagger in his stride Strider Hien takes the Mirror Cipher itself this time, and throws it like a boomerang at each of the targets.

Midi has left.

Outside> Midi has arrived.

Outside>        He made it to the third round? Who would have thought the little guy was such a great shot? Must be all those Videogames he plays. Walking back up to his position Midi pulls out... a pistol?? Who let that little boy get his hands on a gun? Oh wait, it's just an emergency stun pistol, but still! Interpol must be careless. But whatever. He probably just 'borrowed' it off of someone (like Bridgit?). Despite all that, Midi takes aim and fires. Having recieved no practical training in firing a pistol, let's hope his experiences in videogames will come in handy?

Gabriel switches to Midi flag. "Hit 'em all or you're out of Interpol!"

"And a 6 for the green whiz kid. A shame there, since he did so well in the last round! We're halfway through now, with only two of the five potential positions in the medal round garunteed! But the favorites for the competition are still to come - right now! Tactical Raccoon gets the draw!"

Tactical Raccoon has left.

Outside> Tactical Raccoon has arrived.

Outside>

Third round. Tactical produces a scoped assault rifle -- the scope will give him a crucial advantage in the competition, he hopes. He slaps in a clip as he walks into the firing position, running the action while he calibrates the sight.

A series of three round bursts emit from the end of the rifle as Tactical fires at the targets, trying to estimate their trajectories as he shoots at them. Automated targets are always less predictable than real people for a reason, which disadvantages him. However, he tries his best, trying to do better than graze each one.

Once he runs out of ammunition, Tactical lowers the weapon, ejects the clip, and heads back to the stands. He shows no reaction to his performance.

Harpuia.. blinks. That is going to hurt TacRac some problems later... But hopefully, at least to Sage, that Fairy will do better than her sniping counterpart.

Outside>

"OH! And the entire stadium groans as terrible luck strikes - a burst of wind kicks up at just the wrong moment, pushing those last two bursts off-course by mere centimeters. What a tragic shortfall for one of the expected medalists. The Maverick Hunters' final chance for a medal is up now, as Bowie takes to the firing line."

Bowie has left.

Outside> Bowie has arrived.

Outside> Bowie still has his game face on. Inwardly, he pushes away his surprise - this is the furthest he's ever gotten in this competiton. Once more he walks down from the stands and takes his place at the line. He ascesses the targets. Once again he draws the Colt Peacemaker from its holster, remembers that he shoots not with his hand but with his heart, and pulls the trigger. Once. Twice. Thrice. Four and Five times.

"A bracketed set for Bowie, scoring 6. This is a pretty harsh result.. but the scoreboard is telling the tale now. While we've had two perfect scores, there are only three people total who've scored over 6 points - the cluster of shooters at 6 are *still* in this competition, unless the last three shooters do dramatically better than the average this round! The one with the best chance is Fairy Leviathan, who was considered to be one of the front-runners for the Gold going into this.."

Fairy Leviathan has left.

Outside> Fairy Leviathan has arrived.

Outside>

This time, Leviathan tries something a little different. Reaching over her shoulder, into the back of her trenchcoat through the collar, she pulls forward what appears to be ... a shoulder cannon. Not a tremendously large one, mind you, but it's a shoulder cannon nonetheless. Maybe that comment Dr. Light made about her being 'female Vile' is somewhat right.

The nozzle on the weapon glows inside with a white light, steaming, before it unleashes a volley of blue-white cryogenic energy spheres towards each of the targets in turn.

Shadow Man has left.

Outside> Things are starting to get trickier now. Shadow Man stands still for much longer this time than last, eyes darting around as he follows the targets for a good while. While doing this, Shadow Man withdraws a pack of projectiles from yet another compartment in his utility belt similar to those of his first round, but slightly larger.

Additionally, as he passes each of the new shuriken from left hand to right, it can be seen that all around their razor edges these shuriken crackle with strands of yellow and blue electricity. He hurls them one at a time but quickly like before - as the shuriken fly towards the targets, lightning strands bounce between the individual projectiles, but these electric currents don't seem to actually effect their movement, nor are they strong enough to register as hits.

Outside> Shadow Man strikes Target 2 with his Shock Shuriken attack.

Outside> Shadow Man strikes Target 3 with his Shock Shuriken attack.

Outside> Shadow Man strikes Target 4 with his Shock Shuriken attack.

Outside> Shadow Man strikes Target 5 with his Shock Shuriken attack.

Shadow Man has arrived.

Outside>

"Another perfect! Shadow Man throws down yet another perfect round, surprising a lot of oddsmakers! This just got a lot tighter - but there's one last shooter left. Gemini Man's bouncing shots might find it a bit hard this time around, but he's got the chances!"

Gemini Man has left.

Outside> Gemini Man has arrived.

Outside> Gemini Man times two steps out again. They both pause, watching the motion of the targets, getting a feel for the pattern. Shadow Man is going to be a tough act to follow.

After a pause, the twin speaks up, raising his weapon to take a bead. "Okay. I'm warning you. I'm going to get fancy." He scrapes the ball of his his foot on the ground a couple of times, then taps it down, just to set his stance. "If it doesn't work out... at least it'll look cool."Gemini winces. Of course he knows exactly what his other self is trying to do, and he's already wary of the difficulty. On the other hand, if the idea was to impress the judge, this may very well do it.

The sniper twin aims the gun a little higher than normal. He takes another pause while both twins judge the aim. He points it up at the furthest target first... takes a breath... and fires.

The shot streaks back in the direction of the final target, then, starts to bounce among the targets in a distinct back-and-forth pattern. Since sometimes the targets actually turn and face the back, there's a better chance of hitting a valid face with a rebound. One blast, five targets.

Outside> Gemini Man strikes Target 5 with his Gemini Laser attack.

Outside> Gemini Man strikes Target 3 with his Gemini Laser attack.

Outside> Gemini Man strikes Target 4 with his Gemini Laser attack.

Outside> Gemini Man strikes Target 2 with his Gemini Laser attack.

Outside> Gemini Man strikes Target 1 with his Nothing But Net attack.

Barrage Raptor has left.

Outside>

"Beautiful! Gemini Man pulls of an absolutely amazing trick shot, hitting all five targets - and a couple of other faces of the targets as well! The odds of that are... well, I'm no scientist. I'd be getting paid more if I was. But that rounds it out to four perfect sets in the third round... now let's see what the judges have...

Javelin Whitetail boos. BOOS!

Jonathan Moriarty meanwhile pulls out a Gemini Hat and puts it on. Still stone-faced in that suit. That's -so- unsuitable for him.

Gemini Man and Gemini Man slump in their seats. They're pretty wiped after actually pulling that off. The hologram laughs nervously.

Outside>

The scoreboard lights up.

15: Bravura, Dr. Sarah Fairchild, Gemini Man, Shadow Man

12: Fairy Leviathan

10: Storm Owl

--CUT OFF--

6: Bowie, Isaac, Midi, Tactical Raccoon

5: Hien

Storm Owl nods very, very slowly. He's still in the running. The Repliforce dream is alive. o/~ It will survive; Oh as long as he know how to love I know it'll stay alive! o/~

Shadow Man doesn't bother to light a cigarette this time. Those things are expensive, you know. Plus he's already down five shuriken, five throwing knives, and five shock shuriken today.

"Totally unacceptable," Tactical says to himself, and starts to clean his assault rifle. That's about as emotionally involved as he gets.

One of the Geminis looks at Shadow and nods to him. At least one of them will medal. The other is trying to make eye contact with Fairy Leviathan over the stands. Darn boyfriend seems to be in the way.

Bowie quietly puts his gun in his holster, giving a satisfied nod at the scoreboard. It took him three rounds before he froze up this time, a new record. So he's happy. After a moment, the Texan stands up and makes his way out to the back entrance of the stands.

Yeah, Sage is, at that. Not that he doesn't mind -- he seems to not notice, or not care.

Isaac looks that he's out of the running but he doesn't mind, he placed very well this year and he'll work on it for next year.

Javelin Whitetail continues to sit in the Maverick stands, SLOWLY TURNING INTO A HORRIBLE MONSTROSITY. Because her player is running out to get junk food. Oh, the horrors of neglect!

Outside>

With the final round having arrived, the targets speed up further, moving at speeds almost faster than can be tracked by the unaided eye. Additionally, forcefield walls are projected up out of the ground, randomly interspersing themselves with the five targets to create a nigh-impossible maze of barriers, leaving only split-second openings to hit the targets with.

"Now we're ready for the medal round. The rules are different here - there is no halfway cut-off point. Of the six remaining competitors, three will medal. The three highest scores for this round will earn their respective medals - Bronze, Silver and Gold. In the event of a tie for a particular rank, there will be a shoot-off, where the competitors continue to fire on the targets until one scores higher than the other. Though - I'm not sure how *anybody* could hit tthose targets in the first place. To start off the final medal round, the judges draw... Shadow Man."

Jonathan Moriarty swaps his Gemini hat for a Shadow hat. Yes.

Javelin Whitetail pre-emptively cheers for Sarah!

Shadow Man has left.

Outside> Shadow Man has arrived.

Outside> Last round, no pressure. Shadow Man walks silently and unhurriedly to the firing range. Displaing an uncharacteristic lack of variety, Shadow Man repeats the setup of his first and third rounds, taking out a pack of shuriken from his utility belt. These ones are flatter than the previous two sets, more silvered in color, and lacking the central hole of the others.

After watching the targets for a while, Shadow Man passes shuriken individuall from his left hand to his right and casts each of them one at a time. Unlike all three of his previous projectile types, these ones do not entirely follow ballistic trajectories - instead, they curve towards the targets as if drawn to them. This might be helpful, but on the other hand, they can only curve so sharply and that could hurt his ability to control them, and it doesn't help them navigate past the random barriers popping up. How will Wily's ninja do?

Outside> Shadow Man misses Target 1 with his Magnetic Shuriken attack.

Outside> Shadow Man strikes Target 2 with his Magnetic Shuriken attack.

Outside> Shadow Man strikes Target 3 with his Magnetic Shuriken attack.

Outside> Shadow Man strikes Target 4 with his Magnetic Shuriken attack.

Outside> Shadow Man misses Target 5 with his Magnetic Shuriken attack.

Shadow Man has arrived.

Jonathan Moriarty swaps his Gemini hat for a Shadow hat. Yes.

Jonathan Moriarty re-swaps the hat back to Gemini, since he missed it.

Outside>

"And Wily's Ninja scores a rather impressive 9 - showing off some serious good shooting with the deadly accuracy that makes ninjas... ninjas. Anyhow. Bravura draws the next spot, so the challenge will be to see if he can best that 9 and put himself into the running for the Gold!"

Bravura has left.

Outside> Bravura has arrived.

Jonathan Moriarty frowns. No Bravura hat. Too bad!

Fairy Leviathan leans over. Looks at Gemini Man. Winks. Sits back.

When Shadow Man returns, his face remains impassive and unexpressive, just as the Mavericks' Tactical Raccoon. He heads back over to the Master section of the stands, nodding to Gemini Man before he takes his seat.

Gemini Man gives Shadow Man a thumbs up.

The holographic Gemini seems to slightly blush.

Sage Harpuia doesn't appear to notice from where he's seated next to Fairy Leviathan. Strange. Maybe he does.. maybe he does not.

Outside> Bravura steps from the stands and takes his place at the shooting line, he pulls five knives from his left arm and throws them at the targets, hoping his bragging isn't for nothing.

Outside> Bravura strikes Target 1 with his Shuriken Storm attack.

Outside> Bravura misses Target 5 with his Shuriken Storm attack.

Bravura has arrived.

Outside>

"Oooooh, and Bravura only gets 7 points. That takes him out of the running for the Gold. Just a bit short. The last remaining of the favorites coming into this, Fairy Leviathan takes up position now. Oddsmakers had her going for the Gold and she's got the chance here. Can she take it?"

Fairy Leviathan has left.

Outside> Fairy Leviathan has arrived.

Outside>

Leviathan's choice of weapon this time is her signature sniper rifle. It's not a small rifle, and in the hands of a small woman, it only looks bigger. She holds it as if it were light as a feather, looking down the sight, firing off a variety of shots, and with the last one, she takes an exacting, special aim. Because to a sniper, it's hard to miss...

Outside> Fairy Leviathan strikes Target 1 with her Psg-1 attack.

Fairy Leviathan has arrived.

Outside>

"...Wow, those targets are really being brutal this round. This is a far cry from the earlier strings of perfect hits, folks! Even Fairy Leviathan only manages at 6! Will anybody be able to top the ten point mark? Can Dr. Sarah Fairchild DO THE DOOM?!"

Dr. Sarah Fairchild has left.

Outside> Dr. Sarah Fairchild has arrived.

Outside> And once again the Director of Interpol walks down, but this time the drones involved are different. It's the red one again - and the silver one. The red one vibrates, causing a blast of fire to flash from its surface, onto the silver drone. The silver drone then emits a loud, highpitched roar of excitement that goes roughly like

"WAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO" before ripping forward, and emitting a pulse of firey energy as it RAMS into every target with full force.

[Radio: (G) Global] Guts Man transmits, "What the hell are you going on about?"

[Radio: (G) Global] Edward Hampton laughs. "And this is why you don't @*$) with the Doctor."

Outside>

"OH MY GOD A PERFECT. Where did *that* come from? How did she *do* that? It's impossible! There's no way... I mean.. wow! Dr. Fairchild almost *assures* herself the Gold with a spectacular performance! There's only two shooters left that can overtake her... and the first of them up is Storm Owl!"

Storm Owl hovers down for his fourth and final round of the match. Storm Owl peers up at the crowd briefly. He is the lone Repliforcer left in this event. He looks back at the targets as they whiz about at a blinding speed. Time to pull out the big guns. Or, as the case may be, pull out the tools of finesse. There's the flash of weaponry as the Fortress V Commander draws out his two feather daggers from their slots on his wings, letting their golden-orange armouring shine in the light. Although in normal combat he would not carry more than his standard duo, for this match he has five amongst his person. Storm Owl grips the throwing daggers tight and looks at each target in turn, studying them for a few moments. Then, with the aid of the winds themselves, Storm Owl lets the five daggers fly.

Gemini Man has left.

Outside> Gemini Man has arrived.

Outside> Last again. Pressure on.

Gemini Man stands up from his seat, and swallows. The hologram stands up second, but walks up first, and stands in the front. He's done well enough to prove he's a better shot than his brother, that's for sure. The question is, whether or not he's the best there is.

Two pairs of eyes track the targets and their erractic motion, while the second twin tries to get a bead, lifting the weapon for the last time tonight. He frowns. There's too much movement out there to pull out a trick like he pulled out last time. There's the possibility that he may hit a bank shot, like before, but it's going to be hard to be that precise. He twists his gun-'wrist' once, rebalancing it on his offhand. Then,

squaring his shoulder to balance for any potential kick, he switches modes, and fires on full auto. The blasts from his gun blitz out toward the arena. It's definitely more shots than are nessicary, and several of them will definitely miss. Hopefully, just enough of them, won't.

Jonathan Moriarty still has the Gemini hat! But he roots for Gemini anyway.

Sage tsks quietly as he observes. Fast-moving targets -- pity, the Serpent did put up her best. All the same, the Guardian, still in full armor, steps up from his seats. He saw a little man named Bowie who was heading for the exit.. and wouldn't you know, as his armor fades from his body, the Guardian seems to fade away, activating a little optical camo to conceal himself, and who he is.

The armor upon Sage Harpuia glitters white, before phasing out of place with reality, seemingly enough, the wing ailerons upon his back being replaced with a long trenchcoat and his 'normal' attire, among that being his sabers and handguns hung hidden inside the cover of the coat.

Sage Harpuia activates his stealth mode.

Gemini Man has arrived.

Assault Kangaroo has disconnected.

Bowie has left.

Outside>

"And Gemini Man scores a 6! This is it then, folks. Shadow Man earns the Bronze, but the Gold and the Silver are still up in the air! The judges are calling both Dr. Fairchild and Storm Owl down to the field one more time - each gets another set of five shots. The one with the higher score wins the Gold, the loser gets the Silver. There's a coinflip for the first shot.."

Outside> Libra flips a coin in the air and it comes down tails.

Storm Owl hovers back down. The war bird turns to Doctor as he passes her by on the way to the firing line and utters, "I am pleased it is you I am up against, Doctor. You have proven yourself to be an excellent student with your choice of weapon. Repliforce is fortunate to have you as an ally." For once, Storm Owl shall not mind if he loses out to Sarah. Given how hard the Captain is on himself, this says quite a bit.

Storm finally turns back to the targets, which blur at an awe-inspiring speed. A shame the owl has no more of his feather daggers, but naturally the judges might frown about him carrying around a trunk full of knives. And so, Storm Owl calls upon the storm to help him out. Hovering up slightly, the wind picks up, and those in the stands might have to pull their coats just a little bit closer to them to avoid catching the draft. Dust flies in all direction, and rare energy can be seen dancing across the Major's robotic form. What might have once been a beautiful day is has turned into a fine one to stay indoors. The green licking flecks of ions merge in with the storm, and finally a pair of cyclones form up like defiant guardians. The cyclones whip about at a terrifying pace, levelling whatever they come into contact with. The two cyclones crash down the firing line, attempting to knock out the targets one by one.

Storm Owl is still hovering, and the two cyclones, although starting to disperse, are still very dangerous and violent. Only one lone target managed to escape the long grasp of the cold, calculating Repliforce Commander, and once again he sends them in. But this time, the cyclones begin to lose power, as Storm Owl cannot keep them going for an infinite time. And so, adapting quickly, Storm Owl computes several billion calculations and merges the double cyclone into one, which rampages across the firing field,

attempting to destroy any targets in its path.

Sarah stands at the line, closing her eyes to focus...and then unleashes the drones - or rather, drone. Sarh's newest addition, the blue drone: Ymir. The drone hovers up to the targets, and emits a chilling blast of cold that creates a series of icicles. These icicles then descend upon the targets.

"And Fairchild scores a 7! Storm Owl wins the Gold!"

Outside>

The targets slow, stop, and fall to the ground - horrifically mangled by the devastation wrought upon them.

"It's offical from the judges now - Storm Owl takes the Gold, with Dr. Sarah Fairchild taking the Silver and Shadow Man having the Bronze!"

Storm Owl waves his hand, and his final cyclone dies down, letting the area warm back up. The owl makes a few quips to his comrades over the broadband and hovers over towards the Interpol Doctor. "An excellent match, Doctor. Know that this is a victory for both Interpol and Repliforce, and as far as I am concerned, both our factions have won gold and silver." Quite the smooth talker when he has to be.

The hologram Gemini sits in the offered seat, next to Fairy. He laughs, even as the round finishes up. "Don't worry about not getting the medal. Cyclones... exploding remote-control weapons, it's not shooting." He points back and forth between himself and the girl. "You and me, we can shoot." He leans over, and adds, a bit more confidentially, his jaw clenched in a mutter.

Outside> Bravura enters the South Australia.

Outside> Bravura has left.

Sarah grins over at Storm, smiling tiredly. It's been a long day. "And I feel the same way. Both of us won today. This has been a good showing of both of our groups, and I'm happy to have been a part of it."

Shadow Man rises as he sees that the event is concluded. From a compartment in his torso armor a small grey ball is taken out - as Shadow Man closes his hand into a fist, he explodes into a cloud of opaque white smoke. The smoke clears quicky in the open air but by the time it does, Shadow Ma is already gone. And so is his briefcase.

Storm Owl inclines his head. Truly this is a victory for good over evil. Read: Over Shadow Man. Speaking of which, Storm peers in the ninja's direction to see how he has taken it, but poof! Shadow Man has already vanished into white smoke. Storm seems to recall something similar during the water races.

[Radio: (C) Chat] Assault Kangaroo transmits, "Excellent, Owl."

Milan has arrived.

[Radio: (C) Chat] Storm Owl transmits, "Thank you, Commander. Assault Kangaroo. I take it the hostage is safe?"

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Dr. Sarah Fairchild chuckles. "Well, yeah. If there's one thing Ymir does, it's calm..."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Bridgit Cascio transmits, "Hey now. I was calm fer once. Didn't even swear when I got eliminated." Pause. "Didn't blow up anythin' I wasn't s'posed to, either."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Dr. Sarah Fairchild transmits, "I'm a little surprised, I have to admit."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Bridgit Cascio transmits, "What, at winnin'?"

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Dr. Sarah Fairchild transmits, "No, at what you just commented on."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Bridgit Cascio transmits, "... HEY."

[Radio: (A) Main] Blaster Saurian transmits, "... Um... commanders? Sirs? Whomever wishes to respond? I'd like to bring something up if you all don't mind.."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Dr. Sarah Fairchild chortles.

[Radio: (A) Main] Storm Owl transmits, "Proceed."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Bullet transmits, "Take pride in the fact that you two helped shut out the Mavericks and the Neo Arcadians."

[Radio: (A) Main] Storm Owl transmits, "Unless this is sensitive information which would be better suited for a tight band frequency."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Bullet transmits, "Heh. If only Shadow Man had been shut out as well."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Edward Hampton transmits, "I, ah, would have been there, but I got held up."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Bridgit Cascio grumbles something about blowing @*(& up later mutter mutter.

Gemini Man, way the heck over in the Master area of the stands, gets up and walks off, stretching.

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Dr. Sarah Fairchild transmits, "How many trucks was it this time, Hampton?"

[Radio: (A) Main] The General transmits, "Indeed. Go ahead."

Fairy Leviathan pushes the hologram Gemini's helmet down over his eyes, laughs softly, and walks out as well.

Javelin Whitetail stands, then; she readjusts her cap over her folded ears, and clops her way out of the Maverick stands. Making it a careful point to avoid the majority of the crowd.

[Radio: (A) Main] Blaster Saurian transmits, "It occurs to me that Hailstorm didn't do so well in the sharpshooting tournament today. Yet i'm standing here in the holosim, viewing her scores from the last 2 hours. A sim which she's restared nearly 300 times. ... The marks are off the charts, save only she's restarting as soon as she's missed a -single- target. ... Heck.. some of her marks are better then my own. I'm simply suggesting that there's no need to punish her for what was supposed to be simply a game and a chance to have a good time."

Fairy Leviathan has left.

Outside> Fairy Leviathan has arrived.

Outside> Fairy Leviathan strikes Cut Man with her Grasp attack.

[Radio: (A) Main] Storm Owl transmits, "Punish? Explain."

Javelin Whitetail has left.

Outside> Javelin Whitetail has arrived.

[Radio: (A) Main] Blaster Saurian transmits, "I was told her training hours were doubled."

[Radio: (A) Main] Blaster Saurian transmits, "With the marks I'm reading, she hardly needs to be in here that much."

[Radio: (A) Main] Storm Owl transmits, "Ah. A mere suggestion which she seems to have taken to heart. I always support additional training for troopers should they feel they can handle the extra load."

[Radio: (A) Main] Blaster Saurian transmits, "She took it a bit far, commander, she's expecting perfection from herself."

[Radio: (A) Main] Storm Owl transmits, "That is illogical. /Perfection/ is impossible."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Edward Hampton transmits, "... Only 1."

[Radio: (A) Main] Storm Owl is crap at dealing with emotional touchy feely problems.

[Radio: (A) Main] Blaster Saurian knows that, its why he asked for commander(s)

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Dr. Sarah Fairchild transmits, "Uh-huh. No schoolchildren?"

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Edward Hampton transmits, "... And three compact cars, two hoverbikes, and a crate of chickens."

[Radio: (A) Main] Assault Kangaroo transmits, "I was pretty sure I wouldn't win the event... but I pulled an impressive stunt on the field anyway."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Resonance says, "Chickens helped me silver in the Foot Race, you be nice to them."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Edward Hampton transmits, "Hey, I like chickens."

[Radio: (D) RF-MH] Dr. Sarah Fairchild transmits, "Well, at least it's not schoolchildren."

[Radio: (A) Main] Blaster Saurian transmits, "I'm aware of that Sir, its just that Hail's taking the loss rather hard and she seems to have thought your suggestion was an order."

[Radio: (A) Main] Storm Owl transmits, "I shall clarify for her."

[Radio] Tightbeam transmission to Hailstorm Eagle: You say, "Clarification: My comment regarding your training hours was a suggestion. Not an order."

[Radio] Tightbeam transmission: Hailstorm Eagle does not reply.

Storm Owl is called away on Repliforce business. Seeeeecret Repliforce business that'll fix all you good...

You enter the Training Room.

Fortress V - Training Room

The scenery certainly takes advantage of the sheer size of the training room, being at least two hundred meters square. There is heavy cloud cover, and a light snowfall, the ground covered with at least two inches of it. A light wind sometimes whistles through the scenery, as well.

In the very center of the field is a massive facility, a good thirty by fifty meters. The walls are made of stone, reinforced with metal in some places, and everything is cold and icy. The perimeter is a heavy defensive wall, rising about five meters, rimmed with battlements, many of them. The corners of the facility each have a tall guard tower, with similar fortifications, as well as a gun turret on each. Gates in the wall are on the short sides, more or less in the center, with forcefield portculli on either one.

In the courtyard, there are several structures - a barracks in one corner, a vehicle garage in a second, a firing range as well. None of them get above the defensive wall, though, except for the one in the very center - the command center. It rises to level with the defensive wall, four walkways to and from the wall and the lower command center's roof. The upper command center is a second structure on top of that one, with a heavy gun turret on top of that.

The area for perhaps 10 meters around the facility is flat, but past that, the landscape gets extremely hilly, and there are plenty of trees for cover. In one corner of the 'map', there is a small collection of statues - marking this as Hailstorm Eagle's simulation. She even seems to be updating these.

As for objectives, there is only one prepackaged objective - there is a half-meter sphere with the RF logo on it in the upper command center. If enabled, this item needs to be taken from its cradle in the command center to a corner of the map, which all offenders start in. Other than that, though... have a blast.

Blaster Saurian [RF]                   Hailstorm Eagle [Uniform] [RF]

Out <O> leads to Fortress V - Main Deck.

The eagle slides her optics open again. "I.... yeah, I.. did..." her voice had become really low and timid. If Blaster had been at a few paces' distance, he might not have been able to make it out. "I just..." she stopped, then resumed, "Storm just contacted me..."

[Radio: (C) Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits, "Berkana....ma'am. I believe

[Radio: (C) Chat] Shield Shellfish transmits, "Personally, my events are complete. I have the time. Do you?"

[Radio: (C) Chat] Berkana transmits, "I...see. Alright, then. I'll meet you on the Skydeck."

Blaster Saurian hrms a little, "I was asking him about how he doubled your hours, he just wants to clarify what he meant.." he informs, "He told me it was just a suggestion.. but stand tough alright? You know as well as I do you have good skills, so keep your confidence up."

"He told me that too," Hail's voice just went lower. It doesn't seem like Storm's suggestion was the only thing that hurt so bad. "I... I guess so..."

The doors to the rest of the ship slide open with a soft -hisss-, and Storm Owl strides into the Fortress V's training room. The gold medal, by the way, is currently being placed in a case for safe-keeping. He has no special attachment to it. The owl peers about the cold scene. He spies the facility and the two figures standing atop the wall. Peering upwards, he coughs politely. "Ahem."

Blaster Saurian grins a little, idly patting the eagle's shoulder again before hearing the doors slip open. At that he stands and turns to face Storm, "Good evening, Commander.."

        (Ahem.)

"Huh?" The eagle didn't have to be told twice. She practically LEPT up to her feet, turning and facing the Major while giving as crisp a salute as she could in her current state. Which turned out to be not all that bad.. Her expression had given way to blankness, too. "Major," she half stated, half greeted.

Storm Owl returns the salute (is that a small thunderclap you hear?) and says. "To clarify, Hailstorm: Additional training is a suggestion. Not an order. I'll not have you damage yourself through over-exercise." Storm peers in Blaster's direction, wondering what his part in all this is. Just a bystander who happened to come across Hailstorm training?

Basically, he had come in to get a bit of training himself and found out how long she'd been going, and just how many times the sim had been reset. He's not spoken to, so he doesn't speak. Its that simple.

The eagle seemed to slump a bit as Storm clarified his earlier statements. "Y..yes sir," she replied, in a noticeably more timid tone. Storm Owl never thought he'd have to give this order to someone else, but he does now: "Relax, Sergeant. Nobody is going to punish you for failure so long as you maximize your potential." He'd almost said 'maximize your usefulness to the Repliforce cause', but he changed it at the last moment. Good thing.

Hailstorm shut her optics for a long few seconds at that time, taking a deep misty breath, standing at ease. Her expression suggested that if Storm had been a few minutes later, he probably would have found the sergeant in tears.

Storm Owl would -not- have been impressed by one of his troopers crying. Storm idly adds another tic to the tally that says emotions are the plague on the programming of robots. The Fortress V Commander waits for those few long seconds to make sure that Hailstorm is alright, and then finally says. "If you have any other concerns, Sergeant, I am certain that General will be able to deal with them." General's a better choice than second in command 'rip off your face and wear it as a hat' Colonel, or Storm 'personality of cardboard' Owl. Internally, Storm has decided that Hailstorm is emotionally unstable, and will require a close watch on her.

That was probably a good move, all things considered.

When Hailstorm opens her optics back up, she forces a smile. "Thank you sir."

Storm Owl nods once. "You're welcome." He offers a nod to Blaster, thanking the trooper for alerting him to this potential tumour in Repliforce's ranks. "Good day, Hailstorm Eagle. Good day, Blaster Saurian." Assuming there is nothing else, Storm Owl turns and strides on out.

Blaster Saurian nods in reply before watching him slip out. ... Hopefully that went smoothly enough.. his eyes eventually trail from him toward Hail..

"Uh, sir..?" Hailstorm seems to have a question.. but at least she's speaking in a calm enough tone.

Storm Owl stops at the door and turns around, waiting to hear this question from Hailstorm. Whatever it may be.

"How did the event go, anyhow?" the eagle sounds a tiny bit sheepish...

Storm Owl answers swiftly, "Dr. Fairchild and I were successful, Sergeant, in obtaining both the silver and gold. Shadow Man claimed Bronze." As he told the Doctor earlier, both factions really deserved to claim victory over this event considering it went to a second shoot-out.

The eagle -stared-. "You and Director Fairchiild..... who got what?"

Storm Owl says simply, "Dr. Fairchild won silver. I won gold." He might as well be talking about the weather or something.

"Wow," the eagle breathed, starting to chuckle nervously. What was she thinking?

(omg he got gold go storm!!11 :D)

(omg I just got pwnd ._.)

She doesn't really say anything about eithr train of thought immediately.

Storm Owl nods, "'Wow' indeed." he deadpans. In truth, he's a bit shocked as well at his victory, but he controls his emotions well enough to hide it. Once again, he nods to Blaster and Hailstorm and sets about to depart. His medal should be nice and shiny for a display case by now.

This time, Hailstorm lets him go.

Blaster Saurian has left.
