Hawaii
Forged in the
fires of volcanism, beautiful Hawaii still simmers, as proven by the
spectacular volcanic eruptions on the big island. Sharp, uneroded peaks loom
overhead, interspaced with deep, verdant valleys, and the world-famous beaches
of white, pulverized coral or dark, basaltic lava. Lush vegetation, both wild
and cultivated are everywhere, providing not only beauty, but vigorous crops as
well. As Hawaii is relatively poor in resources, tourism is the main industry,
followed by the government and agriculture. It is home to Pearl Harbor, a vast
shipyard for the repair and overhaul of fleet units, and a training base for
submarine and anti-submarine warfare.

Obvious exits:
Fly <Up> leads to Skies Above the Northwest Pacific.
Ocean <O> leads to East Central Pacific.
Streetwise looks back to DepthCharge and yells "Thanks
for the heads up wise ass!"(Streets may be spending too much time with
earth teenagers as he is starting to act like them a little to much). He
arrives at the pond and looks to Rodimus and says " Mind if I give it a
shot Rodimus?" Streetwise has head much talk of fishing and has been
wanting to give it a try for some time now.
Apogee pulls something else out of the water, but it turns
out to be just an old bottle with sand in it. "A vast amount of trash has
accumulated on this beach. It is rather unpleasant to witness."
Jazz has arrived.
Elita One comes ashore from the East Central Pacific.
Elita One arrives from the shores of Hawaiian Islands.
Elita One has arrived.
Ranger lies on the beach, head resting on his hands, and
basks in the warm sunlight. Letting the cares of the war wash away in a soft
amber haze.
From the hovercraft, Foxfire has connected.
DepthCharge nods and says to Apogee, "Perhaps one day
we Autobots should come back and look at doing a bit of clean up?" The
Aquabot spots another bottle floating in the water and reaches out to pick this
one up too. He takes it in his hand and examines it, noticing something inside.
Maybe it is a genie? Uncorking the bottle, DepthCharge upends it and gives it a
few shakes, a piece of old paper falling out of the bottle.
Foxfire has arrived.
Gears is currently sitting on the beach with a pail and
shovel, slowly and painstakingly making a sandcastle. By all that is holy, he
is most likely the most adorable thing on the face of the planet right now. Or
he would be if he weren't eying a rival sandcastle being built by two little
children, brother and sister, aged 4 and 6 1/2, respectively. Gears looks at
his own castle. "It would seem," he mutters to himself, "That
the architectural war is not going in my favour..." Gears looks left and
right to ensure that nobody else is watching him, "But little does the
enemy know, that Kingdom Gears is preparing for warfare..." His optics
narrow.
Rodimus Prime gets up out of the water and walks over
towards the shore, "You want to try? Well, there's a luau planned in a
little bit." He climbs out and says, "But here...have a shot."
Rodimus hands the pole over to Streetwise and clicks on his shortband radio,
"Hey guys, there's going to be a luau the hotel up the beach is hosting.
They're saying we can join them for entertainment. Something about fire
dancers."
Apogee nods to DepthCharge. "That would be a productive
service project to undertake. I would be happy to assist in such an
endeavor."
Hey cats n' kittens, guess who's tromping up the beach,
lookin' mighty... hung over?
Well. Maybe not hung over. Just like he's been partying for
a while. Wearing a couple of leis. And no, he's not wearing a grass skirt. Jazz
is still grinning, but tired-- and upon hearing Ranger's question....
"It's a big ol' party, he says, approaching the group himself. "Got
lotsa dancin' and music."
DepthCharge kneels down and picks up the piece of paper that
came from the bottle and reads, "Avast ye harties. If yea seek me
treasure, be forwarded. I could not keep it in life, so in death I will guard
it. If yea wishes to face me ghost then be it on your own cursed head! For me
treasure is located three steps due east of the.." DepthCharge trails off
and says to Apogee, "I hate junk mail." And tears up the treasure map.
He looks back to Prime and says, "Someone say Luau?"
Gears takes his pail and fills it with wet sand... mud, I
guess it is. Turning it upside down, he creates another building for the royal
Gears Castle in Kingdom Gears. After slowly but surely building up a wall
around his fortress, the minibot once more spies to see how little Jimmy and
little Suzie are doing with their castle. Theirs is awe-inspiring given their
ages, and Gears grumbles. "We'll see about that." The minibot grabs
his shovel and begins assembling ammunition for the upcoming invasion.
Streetwise tries a couple of casts and coming up empty he
sets the pole down for the next person and says "Well looks like I am not
a very good fisherbot. Guess I shall stick to bashing con aft." He then catches
the radio transmission from Prime and stands up and begins slowly heading up to
the hotel. He says "This should be fun!" to no one in general.
Ranger turns as Jazz approaches and tilts his head slightly
as he considers. "A party, huh? Dancing and music? Sounds
interesting." He says politely, not having been to many parties he's
unfamiliar with them to any extent.
Rodimus Prime shrugs at Streetwise and the rock he cought.
"Better luck next time..." he says before walking down towards the
sea and the beach. He pushes a tree gently aside and steps out onto the beach.
The red boots sink down slightly, but it's ok. He trudges towards the hotel
himself. Even from where the bots are, the sounds of drumbs can be heard. Very
tropical. The red glow of torches can be noticed as well, with lots of people
around. However, the humans here have set a large section aside for the
autobots, so they don't squish anyone by accident.
"Did someone say party?" And here he is again, Mr.
Troublemaker, suddenly showing up as if out of nowhere. Foxfire sits on his
haunches and peers up at Ranger, grinning. Maybe the beach won't be so bad,
dispite his water troubles the previous night. However, his attention soon
turns to Gears, and in a flash, he's gone. "Hi, Gears!" he says cheerfully,
right behind him.
Apogee wades a little farther into the water, then tumbles
over as a tide comes in. A minute later she re-emerges, with seaweed hanging
from her shoulders. She flips open her visor, and a fish falls out, happy to be
free again.
Like Jazz would be that careless? Nay. Never. He's ready to
follow Rodimus over towards that tiki torchlit area, and of course, giving
Ranger a grin, "Yeah. It's kinda hard t'do, but once ya get the hang of
it--" He sizes Ranger up. "I don't know if they'll have a grass skirt
ta fit you though." Jazz chuckles, and wanders. Party? He's there. And
ready to teach Gears how to hula.
Gears quickly makes an arsenal of ten mudballs, every so
often peeking out from behind his castle at his nightbour in the sand. "So
unsuspecting," he chuckles. But before the war drums can be sounded,
Foxfire fricking appears right behind him. "Gah!" He whirls around,
concealing his armoury. "You! A spy for the enemy, perhaps?" Gears
says suspiciously. "Are you one of -them-, Foxfire? Go on... deny it!
It'll only prove your -guilt-!" He points an accusing finger at Foxfire.
Ranger's optics flicker briefly. "Grass...skirt? I beg
your pardon?"
Broadcast has connected.
Apogee decides she's had enough of the water for now, and
returns to the shore, whereupon she pulls the seaweed off herself, then sits
down in the sand to rest for a bit.
DepthCharge looks at Apogee and smiles, saying, "You're
lucky you are built for space and vacuum environments, or water seepage could
cause you some problems." and looks up at the sky as she sits and
comments, "You know that the moon's influence controls all the tides,
don't you? Humans discovered this very early on in their evolution. Even though
they didn't fully understand the scientific principals, they always saw the
'moon' as a kind of entity. That required respect and, if properly pleased,
would yield good sea fearing weather."
Foxfire arches an optic, speechless for a moment. "Denying
what isn't true...proves my guilt? I think you need a reality check,
Gears." He grins, trying to a good look at whatever the minibot is
attempting to conceal. "What are you doin', and what enemy would I be a
spy for?" At this point, he's thinking Gears just has a few screws loose.
Rodimus Prime steps up towards the Hotel and moves to where
the luau is going to be. Already people have gathered and hawaiian music can be
heard. A human stands up on stage talking to the group of people. "Welcome
to the Hayatt regency luau, I'm sure everyone's excited to see tonight's
entertainment, so let's get this luau started!" A few human males step out
with flaming batons which they begin twirling to the beat of the drums.
Under the sea! Dum~dum~dum... Well, being a lifeguard was
fun, though, you couldn't watch the kids all the time, no? Exploring the
wonders of Earth, Elita One decided to have some fun of her own and explore the
deepest reach of the sea. Wanting to test her system in a way, while actually
wanting to explore the wildlife that layed underneath, after a long moment of
being submerged under the water, the femme commander finally had gotten out
from the water... Where? Well, real, real, real far away from the actual
islands... But how could you miss her, I mean, she was a pink spot in the
middle of the sea?
From where
she was, the islands were pretty small, but still...
Ranger shrugs and moves away towards the hotel, as one or
two 'bots seem to be drifting in that direction. As he wanders off, he can be
heard muttering "What's a skirt?"
Apogee says, "That's interesting, DepthCharge. I
recently learned that certain life-forms instinctively synchronize their
reproductive cycles to the appearance of the full moon; so in a way, it is
appropriate that it should be deemed a symbol of prosperity." As she says
this, she traces her finger around in the sand, making the shape of the Autobot
symbol."
Yeah. A pink spot that isn't being noticed by one black n'
white, who's heading into see more drummers and fire jugglers, and ... "A
skirt is a piece of clothing that humans wear. A costume." Jazz says.
Gears's optics narrow as he retracts his finger as if
Foxfire might bite it off or something. He ignores the human speaking, as he
has war to conduct, and no mere peace talk will deter him. "You know who
the enemy is, Foxfire. -Them-." Gears looks over his shoulder at the kids,
but they've already gone to listen to the human on the stage and the rest of
the show. The castle is ruined as apparently the kids knocked it over once they
were done with it. "Blast!" Gears curses, shaking his fist in their
direction even if they can't tell. "So, Foxfire... it would seem that your
devious little plot to distract me was successful afterall... well fought, but
you have not seen the last of me!"
Junkion Boxcar has arrived.
Broadcast climbs out of the base.
Broadcast has arrived.
Heaving a soft sigh, letting the water gets out from her
whole frame from her mouth for the time being once she's gotten up, Elita One
coughs a few times, which merely causes some more water to spurt out from her
system. Once she had gotten a little bit of it out though, Elita One shakes her
head slowly and raises one of her hand up, to look at the data-padd that was on
her shoulder, merely to look at the data that were compiled through her descent
in the depths of the sea, "Hum... Not bad..." She mutters to herself,
before she begins to swim back up toward the island.
Foxfire groans softly. "Whatever you say, Gears."
Quickly growing bored, he decides to go hang out with Rodimus, darting along
after him. Next time they meet, Gears is going to be colored pink...mwahahahahah.
DepthCharge watches Apogee's little drawing and decides to
do a little oceanography examination to the surrounding area. It has been ages
since he has been able to do stuff like this. Opening up a panel on his left
arm, DepthCharge removes a little cylinder shaped tube and begins to feed one
end of the tube into the sand. Then, from the same compartment, he removes some
dried fish, swishes it in a puddle of sea water for a moment, and places it in
the tube as well. Now we play the waiting game.
Rodimus Prime hopes for that. He sits on one of the larger
chairs built for the bots while he watches the coregoraphed music and dancing
from the three up on stage. For humans, they're not bad. Though he wonders how
they're keeping their hair from burning off with all the fire twirling around
them. He'll have to ask Michael or Spike about it someday. He looks over
towards the approaching Foxfire and nods and pats his lap for the tape to jump
up on to watch the show.
Streetwise arrives at the party scene and takes a seat
beside Rodimus and watches the human dancers as well. He turns to Rodimus and
says "That must be a bit dangerous for them i would think."
DepthCharge comments to Apogee, still talking about the moon
and its influence on things, "Not only reproduction, but also life in
general. You know that when a baby turtle hatches, they instinctively head
towards the moon's reflection on the ocean? That's why building too close to
turtle hatching grounds is bad. As the lights of human settlements confuse the
turtles and they head off towards the buildings, not the ocean."
Ranger drifts up behind Streetwise and Rodimus. Folding his
arms across his chest he tilts his head as he regards the dancers on the stage,
watching them appraisingly. "Most impressive." Is all he comments.
Gears, deprived of his war, mutters to himself and abandons
Kingdom Gears in order to wander over towards the stage to partake in the
entertainment. "Not too shabby, I suppose," Gears mutters, unwilling
to give it the praise that it definitely deserves. The minibot folds his arms
and watches, dazzled by the dancing.
Apogee stands up again and walks over to DepthCharge's side
to observe his experiment, eager to see what will be attracted to his bait, if
anything (if that's what it is). She doesn't seem too interested in the
provided entertainment for the moment. "I find it fascinating how
something so remote can have such a significant impact on terrestrial
life."
Junkion Standard Troops #5518 climbs out of the base.
Junkion Standard Troops #5518 has arrived.
Junkion Boxcar drops Junkion Standard Troops #5518.
Foxfire is more than excited at the invite; even machine
animals like to treated as such. The foxbot prompty leaps up onto Prime's lap,
grins up at him, then settles down to watch the show. Humans sure do have
strange ways of entertaining themselves, but Foxfire's not complaining. He's
enjoying it. As long as he doesn't have to surf again.
Rodimus Prime nods scratching his chin, "How they're
keeping from getting burnt I have yet to figure out. Maybe it's the
speed?" Rodimus shrugs and leans back in the chair watching the dancers,
who finish up their routine and another person, this time with flaming swords,
steps up and begins to spin and twirl his instruments of death. The crowd loves
it with still silence but total raptured attention.
Jazz grins, "Lotsa practice." he says, by way of
explanation. He does enjoy the display of dexterity and daring. Hmmm. . . Maybe
he should try it one of these days.
Gears blinks at Rodimus in genuine shock and (quite
possibly) impressed. "Speed? You think, in order for them to carry out
these stunts, they might be on spe- Oh! Oh, you mean how quick they are.
Y-yeah, t-that must be it." He doesn't sound so impressed with Rodimus anymore.
He rolls his optics at Foxfire and mouths the words 'suck up'. to him.
Meanwhile, in space, two doomsday weapons are activated at
the same time. The first causes a massive energy surge on the surface of the
planet Mars momentarily before a massive blue beam streaks out from the red
sphere, arcing across space with careful precision and slashing through the
Terran atmosphere. Right before the beam strikes the planet, one can almost
smell the ozone burning. And then the "Laser" strikes, smashing into
the ocean off the coast of Hawaii, aimed for a certain pink femme with a lot of
enemies.
But this is
dwarfed by the second doomsday device, another surge, bigger than the first,
can be detected on the red planet. Seems like nothing has happened, but
astronomers across the globe immediately notice the difference. Mars is now moving
away from its previous orbit. Moving towards Earth.
<Autobot> Inferno says, "Son of a... Autahbot Main ta all respondin' companies,
did I just see that? Tell me ah just
didn't see that..."
<Autobot> Inferno says, "*static*-ammit, Autahbot
Main ta a-*static*-arge energy discharge ov-*static*-itch charged th' Primus
da-*static*-osphere... Am ah even
gettin' out on-*static*-ang!?"
Everyone's favorite bullet train Junkion emerges with his
'band', The Lost Boys... They were at one point Wreck-Gar's finest, but
Broadcast was placed in charge of them and... made them master the AIR guitar
instead of new weapons. Anyway, the Lost Boys have their instruments in hand
and Broadcast has a microphone. A song begins to sound as the Lost Boys start
strumming. Broadcast starts singing, "Fumbling his confidence
And wondering why the world has passed him by
Hoping that he's bent for more than arguments
And failed attempts to fly, fly."
The Lost Boys
soon follow into the chorus... "We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?"
Broadcast
pauses in mid tune of the song, right before he is supposed to pick up the next
set of lyrics and cringes as he hears Inferno's message. He says to the Lost
Boys, "Alright, show time is over... Something is not going on that is
good news..." He looks at the Lost Boys, "So much for giving Rodimus
our surprise gig!" One of the Junkions says, "There goes
Christmas!" Broadcast actually bitch-slaps that said Junkion and shakes his
head, "Quiet!"
<Autobot> Colonel Marissa says, "I saw it,
Inf*static* but I wis*static*n't."
Apogee inclines her head upon seeing the flash of blue
light. "That was highly irregular. I will investigate..." She
transforms and launches from the beach, kicking up lots of sand in her
immediate vicinity, and heads in Elita One's direction, where the beam struck.
Apogee twists and folds into her ethercraft form.
<Autobot> Colonel Marissa says, "All...
Defence... now on... status, Inferno?"
Fighting against the waves, the femme commander made her way
all the way over to reach the beach. She was still far away, real far away from
the island, but still, she certainly didn't like the power to make her way over
there. However though, something stopped the femme commander right dead in her
advance. Arching a brow, noticing the shade of the water changing, the whole
sky seeming to glow for an evanescent moment, Elita One merely blinks and turns
her head around, raising her optics all the way up into the sky. Her optics
widen as she notices the laser beam coming all the way down straight for her,
though considering her current situation, getting away from this dessert of
water was pretty hard.
Going right
into the sea, from a distance, the column of light tears through the water, illuminating
everything from a distance as it hits fair and square with its contact point,
the pink commander not hardly visible with the blast that came from it... And
once the beam of light seems to wither and fade away, it's disappearance is
merely met with a loud explosion... And despite the fact it might have came
from the depths of the sea, one could easily hear it and feel the rumble of the
blast. The actual explosion, howver, from over the sea, didn't seem all that
impressionating... In fact, it didn't appear to be anything much... However, it
did result into stirring up the activity in the sea, summoning and creating a
rather huge wave from the blast, which one makes its way straight for the
beach... Hopefully, by the time it'll reach it, it won't be of any size to
actually be of any trouble..
Rodimus Prime sees the red beam strike nearby and thinks
it's part of the luau, but then thinks better of it. He lifts his hand to his
audio receivers to try to pick up a broadcast clearer but nothing. He stands up
and says, "What in the world was that?!" Of course, he knows what it
is, a weapon from the sky. He taps his radio and says, "Inferno...come
in...slag. An EMP burst. Anyone with a working radio, get on the autobot
frequencies and find out what just happened." He looks out over the
stunned audience and says, "Sorry folks, this party is canceled. Go back
to your rooms till we find out what's going on."
The hotel host walks up and says, "Now see here, you
can't order us around like that! We invited you to this!"
Gears jolts around, clearly shocked by what he just saw. No
time to bicker about his fellow Autobots right now, he has to bicker about the
Decepticons! "Yeah, I WONDER who is behind this," he grumbles.
"Prime, what're we going to do NOW?" he asks, obviously having no
plan. The minibot gazes out to sea where the blast struck, "Primus... who
was out there?" he asks, betraying his grumpiness by showing just a touch
of concern for whoever might have been hit. He spares a glance the Junkion's
way and quips, "But on the bright side, we won't have to deal with
/that/." he points at the Junkion band. He's interupted in his further
berating of the Junkions by spotting the wave that's now approaching.
Ranger whirls in alarm as the beam lances through the skies,
striking the ocean nearby. He automatically raises an arm to shield himself,
but it's unnecessary, "What the hell is goin' on?"
<Autobot> Inferno says, "Copy
tha-*static*-... Shiftin' freq ta VLF
band... *pause* Got it.
Roll freq ta five-five-dot-two-seven-five hertz, EDC main. Ah got large energy discharge, surface
impact unknown, looks ta be from orbit.
Y'all pickin' anythin' up?"
Foxfire smirks at Gears, and curls up in Rod's lap. However,
his peace is soon disturbed. Lifting his head, he blinks a few times, looking
around frantically. He leaps to the ground, as Prime stands, snarling softly.
This can't be good. Then again...maybe he'll finally be able to fight! He eyes
Gears out of the corner of an optic, but says nothing.
DepthCharge says to Apogee, as he watches as a crab surfaces
within DepthCharge's little trap and begins snatching at the bait, "Oh
yes. So many factors come in to play when we look at how things have developed.
And everything would be completely different if these factors changed. For
example, the Earth's alignment is slanted. So that as it orbits the sun and
rotates from day to night, various different levels of exposure to the sun
occurs. This is what gives the Earth its seasons. Now, if the Earth's pitch
wasn't slanted and the north and south poles were completely straight, each
area of the world would have its own, steady se.." But the Aquabot is
rudely cut off as something deadly from SPACE explodes over in the ocean off
the coast of Hawaii. As the flaring light catches his optics, suddenly
DepthCharge is concentrating and a flowing blue forcefield begins to swirl up
in the air above him and Apogee, in case they are under attack. He listens into
the radio frequencies and Prime shouting orders and says to Apogee, "Well,
looks like our R'n'R is cancelled."
Hey. Jazz had his radio off before, and it's probably in
decent condition. And he's not so immersed in the act that he's seen a couple
of times to not notice a giant Beam From SPACE. "Gotcha Rodimus." He
says, checking the frequencies. "Large energy discharge--" Yeah.
Someone better call it in, right?
Rodimus Prime looks over at DepthCharge and Gears,
"Primus, Elita One..." he clicks on his radio and says, "Elita
One...are you ok?" He hands out the orders before she responds, if she
even does. "She was swimming out there. DC, Gears, go and check on Elita
One, she was out there when the beam hit." He moves out of the luau area
and down towards the beach and says, "Bots, let's move, the rest of you
help these people get back to the hotel.
<Autobot> Colonel Marissa says, "Copernicus
Station hasn't detected anything in Earth's orbit that could have caused this,
but their sensors are still faulty and sporadic due to the damage done to it.
(she politely declines reminding everyone what caused said damage)"
DepthCharge receives a radio transmission.
<Autobot> Inferno says, "Copy that, EDC
Main... Whutever th' hell that was, ah
don't think it was someone sayin' howdy.
You contacted Seismological yet?
Anythin' that big's gotta be causin' some shakin' 'fore too long."
DepthCharge's forcefield disappears in shock as he receives
a radio transmission and he frowns at its meaning. He quickly re-routes the
radio transmission to Prime, to see what their leader thinks of it. Hey, DC
isn't paid to make decisions. Especially those dealing with Decepticons.
Ethercraft <Apogee> gains just enough altitude to
clear the approaching wavefront, and gains speed as she continues towards the
point of contact, hoping to find something--anything--that might help in
determining exactly what it was...or what it was aiming for.
DepthCharge transmits a message via radio.
Rodimus Prime receives a radio transmission.
<Autobot> Jazz says, "We're readin' you, Inferno.
Got a location for that beam for you-- off the coast of Hawaii. We're at the
scene, man. There's some heavy waves comin' in now."
Ranger stands and stares for a brief moment, before moving
to comply with Prime's orders. "Okay people, move along here, this could
be dangerous." He gestures the Humans in the direction of the hotel,
optics falling on some gaping stragglers he scowls at them "If you've got
any concern for your skins, you'll shift them, quickly!" He sighs,
exasperated by the tendency of humans to remain immobile when danger threatens.
<Autobot> Colonel Marissa says, "I, wait. Hold
on, incoming emergency transmission *there's about a one minute pause before
Marissa returns*. We... seem to have a second problem. Mars is moving towards
Earth."
Unfortuantely, there didn't seem to be much of an answer for
a long moment. Though however, finally, someone answers to Rodimus call,
through the radio, "What by Primus was that?" Gladly, Transformers
did not need to breath, and the voice was obviously... 'Strange'. The femme
commander must have probably been under water or something, considering how it
all came out.
<Earth> James Trent says, "This is commander Trent
from Mexico to Alameda. We detected
something strange about the 4th planet of the solar system. It is leaving its orbit. Can you confirm our data?"
Gears grunts and nods, "Right, boss." he says.
When there's real trouble afoot, Gears doesn't talk smack at the Autobots'
leader. The minibot rushes towards the ocean, igniting his air compressors
along the way. The minibot launches upwards into the sky before drifting over
the huge wave and down where the beam struck. The minibot is not equiped for
aquatic missions like Bumblebee is, so has to rely on his launching
capabilities instead. "Elita One!" the minibot shouts. "Where
are you!?" Perhaps surprisingly, he doesn't begin saying just how unlikely
it is that Elita can hear his voice.
<Earth> A dark laugh can be heard.
Jazz starts jogging for the beach, looking all cool and
stuff, despite the flowers hanging off of him. "Rodimus, we got more
problems." he calls. Hmm. Wonder if that other party ever got cleared from
the beach. Sand. People panicking. Yah. This is just like one of those disaster
movies.
Foxfire dashes toward Ranger, and stands beside him.
"You heard 'im!" he calls to the humans. "Move it!" This is
where he gets to play Sheep Dog. The fox tape proceeds to herd some stragglers
toward the hotel, and occasionally nudging one with his snout. "Back
inside, people," he mutters.
<Autobot> Inferno says, "Holy Primus... Flashover, sound general quarters. Autobot Main ta San Francisco Main, set
threat level Delta, confirmation, Inferno - Bravo Echo Four Niner Four Three
Sierra. EDC Main, you sure you ain't
seein' things? That's a whole damn
PLANET yer talkin' 'bout."
DepthCharge, once he finishes re-routing the radio
transmission to Prime, heads off after Gears to take a dip in the ocean. The Sea
is angry this day, my friends! Beware its wrath. Using his stolen Decepticon
anti-gravs he flies up after Gears, forming on his 'wing' and sweeping the
ocean below him with his optics, search lights on his shoulders activating to
try and provide illumination into the water's depths.
Rodimus Prime sighs and is glad Elita One is ok. He clicks
on his radio, "We're finding this out now Elita. Get back here asap if you
can, I have DC and Gears coming out to help if you can't." He looks over
at Gears and nods, "DepthCharge just radioed me about it." Rodimus
jogs to meet with Jazz and says, "We need to get back to Autobot City. If
that weapon, or whatever it was can pinpoint, we're sitting turbo-foxes out
here." No pun intended Foxfire. Since there does not seem to be any
immediate danger here at least.
<Autobot> Colonel Marissa's cool as a cucumber routine
flickers briefly. "There's no mistake here, Inferno. Copernicus has
confirmed the report."
Ranger straightens up from prodding the little people along
as he hears the message about Mars. He glances around over his shoulder at
those present, before turning towards Rodimus. "Do you want us Aerospace
types to investigate?" He volunteers, worry written on his features.
Streetwise assists in the herding of people by transforming
to cop care mode and issuing orders over his loud speaker. This seems to cause
a a more positive response from the humans as this is an authority that humans
are used to.
Streetwise folds down as legs, arms and his head merge
smoothly into a sleek police car.
<Earth> Marissa says, "Confirmed,
Commander."
The Junkions, as of right now, have began to form a circle
around the box car. Broadcast is looking around and finally asks,
"Rodimus, what if that was just the warning shot?" Oh crap, Broadcast
just has to begin asking for the drama. "Rodimus, we might want to... Get
out of this area? But the problem is... how fast can we?" He then pulls
out his trusty toy, "Or hell, get KNUJ into emergency broadcasting mode so
I can start to get more information from people?" Broadcast is starting to
sound like Blurr on crack too.
"Roger that... I'll try to get back on my feet, or
rather, moving and I'll come back as soon... It definately doesn't look good in
here." The femme commander says to Rodimus, her transmission a bit filled
with static, probably due to how deep in the water she might have been. In
fact, from the depths of the sea, the actual blast had sent the femme commander
down below... And the boulders that had been splashed over had rolled a bit
over the femme slightly, enough to give her a hard time it seems.
Jazz nods grimly at Rodimus, "We got some big fish
t'fry." he answers, the usual smile missing from his face. "Mars is
apparantly leavin' it's orbit, and heading straight for us." Care to guess
possible reasons for freaky occurances like that? Yeah. Jazz has been slipping
up in doing his job.
<Earth> Inferno says, "That's affirmative,
Mexico... Ah ain't one ta tell y'all
go-getters how ta do things, but ah'd highly recommend ya put yer coastal first
response agencies on level 1 stage n' wait fer the nasty."
Foxfire glances over to Jazz, overhearing him, and sighs
deeply. "You've GOT to be kidding..." But apparently not. Poor fox.
He was hoping to either rest and relax, or burst up some 'Cons, but it doesn't
look like he's going to get to do the latter at all. He shakes his head, and
continues herding the humans into the hotel, like a good sheep d--er, fox.
<Earth> James Trent says, "Emergency procedures
engaged. Cloud and Nova are taking off,
all Fire squads are on alert. We are
ready to evacuate our west coast."
Ethercraft <Apogee> decelerates as she reaches the
approximate location of where the mysterious beam struck the ocean, and begins logging
the feedback from all her sensor hardware for analysis later, just in case
there might be some subtle but useful clues hidden in the raw sensor data. As
she swings an arc around the point of contact, her sensors pick up something
else, something metallic, beneath the water, and she ventures a guess as to
what--no, who--it is. Killing her engines, she dives into the ocean, knowing
that her hermetically-sealed construction will protect her as she approaches
the sensor anomaly.
<Earth> Inferno says, "Do it. Do it now.
Ah'm already catchin' seismic activity.
EDC Main, any word from offshore n' DEW stations awn a coastal
surge?"
Gears is having no luck finding the femme, but thankfully
she seems to still be alive and well enough to radio Prime. "DepthCharge,
I can't get down there without shorting out my circuits." he tells the
nearby aquabot. "I don't know if I'm going to be much good to you right
now, I'm afraid." The minibot continues to launch up a short ways and
hover downwards again, creating a very awkward and impractical manner of
flight. But with nothing safe for him to land on, there's not much he can do.
<Earth> James Trent says, "What in the bloody
hell is happening on that planet?... Evacuation procedures engaged on the west
coast."
Rodimus Prime nods and says, "We'll check out the
source, if Mars is coming closer, who'll bet their months rations of energon
that it's the source of our problems?" He looks over to Ranger and says,
"Ranger, transform, we're going to visit mars." He clicks on his
radio, "Gears, DC, have you found her yet?"
<Earth> Marissa says, "Many, many reports, I'm
afraid. The authorities are evacuating the west coast, but... California,
British Columbia... they all have major cities, evacuation is not going to be
swift."
DepthCharge nods to Gears and says, "I'll dip down and
take a look.." and spies Apogee over yonder plunge into the water. Way to
go Apogee. Cutting off his anti-gravs, DepthCharge drops down into the water
and begins to transform, intent on heading over to see if Elita is down there
and if Apogee has found anything interesting.
DepthCharge slides his arms out to his side as his hands
retract into his turbine housing. His legs fold seamlessly into the base of his
abdomen and the transformation is completed as his head retracts into the nose
section of the futuristic Cybertronian Sub.
Apogee transmits a message via radio.
DepthCharge receives a radio transmission.
Ranger nods and, taking care that he has room, flips
forwards, landing in his transport mode. His airlock hisses open and the
boarding ramp extends down towards the soft sands of the beach.
Panels shift at such an incredible speed that they seem to
blur and....expand? until a large transport rests before you.
DepthCharge transmits a message via radio.
Apogee receives a radio transmission.
<Earth> James Trent says, "At least we were
already ready to evacuate the west coast... crashing and shooting into the
pacific ocean seems to be a popular thing to so these days..."
<Earth> James Trent says, "ooc : so=do"
Streetwise has disconnected.
Caught underneath the water, with a bunch of boulders up to
her waist or so, Elita One winces a bit, moving both hands to try and push them
all off from her but to no avail. In the water though, even if she was pink, it
didn't help to see her, that's for sure. Over though, the femme's frame and
actual temperature made her much easier to spot from a distance.
Gears flips open his radio, "Afraid not, Prime. But
DepthCharge is going in for a closer look. Hopefully he'll be able to pull her
out of this so we can start working on a plan." Awkward pause.
"You... HAVE started working on a plan, right?" he asks hopefully.
<Earth> And from the heavens comes another blast, but
this one is not aimed at Hawaii, but rather at an attempt to pin-point the
source of the transmissions spewing from Ayotzinco, Mexico. The radio signals
being caused by James Trent, to be specific. The Dinobot-wide blast cuts
through space like a hot knife through butter. The angle of this shot is much
more difficult, given that Mars was over Hawaii for the first shot. Regardless,
with unerring determination, the beam lances into the heart of Militant
territory.
<Earth> But then, said planet is getting closer and
closer as we speak.
Ethercraft <Apogee> can't maneuver very well
underwater, considering she wasn't designed for that environment. But, as she
reaches the lowest point of her dive, she gets a positive visual of Elita One.
She uses her ailerons as rudders to steer as best she can, and bursts of
hydrazine to propel her further, until she's within meters of the pink femme,
her powerful floodlights illuminating what's not beneath the boulders.
<Earth> Inferno says, "Ah'll hold back th' damn
ocean mahself if'n ah gotta. Autahbot Main
ta San Francisco Main, we need NOAA in the air, pronto. If DoD hasn't put Orions in the sky yet, we
need them, too. Approximate surge depth
n' rate a' travel. EDC Main, ah got
crews in-route fer evac assistance, but...
ah ain't got th' bodies ta cover th' whole damn coastline. Y'all got-SON OF A... SAN FRANCISCO MAIN, THREAT LEVEL ALPHA. GET 'EM IN THE AIR, DAMMIT."
Jazz hmms. "We're gonna have to get these people to
higher ground." says he, taking a quick run to check the next beach where,
despite the fact that the water is starting to surge, there are surfers heading
out into the water. Yes. This happens. Every. Single. Time.
<Earth> James Trent says, "Damnation! Ayotzinco *zzzzz* hit. We are xxxer attaxx. I repeat xxxx under attacks."
Red Herringplunges into the ocean, turbines roaring, and the
craft begins to make a bee-line in the depths of the ocean to where Apogee is
detected on his sonar. Random *pings* bounce off everything in the deep sea
world, and the search lights of the sub glare through the water. Should be
coming upon Apogee any moment now.. Ah, there she is. And it does indeed look
like she has found Elita. Two speakers on the sub activate, broadcasting
through the watery depths in a rare moment of DepthCharge humor, "So.. what
are two femmes like you doing in a place like this?" and manipulator arms
extend out of the front of the sub to attempt to help Elita. Just hope those
boulders aren't too heavy. These arms are used more for taking sea samples.
<Earth> Marissa says, "Report on your status,
Trent! Trent? Goddamnit, we're all sitting ducks on this entire side of the
planet."
<Earth> James Trent says, "We can't *zzzzz*
origin of the att***"
<Earth> Broadcast misbroadcasts, "Eight army
bombers in engagement with enemy tripod machines over Jersey flats. Engines
incapacitated by heat ray. All crashed. One enemy machine destroyed. Enemy now
discharging heavy black smoke in direction of --"
<Earth> James Trent says, "***sealing
base***evacuating president and **** lady"
<Earth> Marissa says, "What in the blazes... what
are you reporting on, Junkion? Bombers where?"
<Earth> Galvatron says, "What in the name
of...what are you humans up to?!"
One hand going up to shield her optics a bit from the light,
Elita One smiles gently at the thought of the other femme being there. She nods
her head idly and waves an hand up, as if to show that it was her and she was
definately alive. Gladly though, the boulders wouldn't be too hard to move
away.
<Earth> Galvatron says, "My entire city is
shaking!"
<Earth> Broadcast guesses that the EDC want to hear
War of the Worlds too, so broadcasts a segment, 'This is Newark, New Jersey . .
. This is Newark, New Jersey . . . Warning! Poisonous black smoke pouring in
from Jersey marshes. Reaches South street. Gas masks useless. Urge population
to move into open spaces . . .automobiles use Routes 7, 23, 24 . . . Avoid
congested areas. Smoke now spreading over Raymond Boulevard . . . ' but of
course in the real voices from the radio show.
Ethercraft <Apogee> very carefully nudges one of the
boulders in an attempt to roll it away from Elita One, after determining that
it isn't already making any contact with any other boulder. Maybe it'll be
enough to free the Pink One, if not help loosen her.
Foxfire rushes over to Rodimus, awaiting further orders;
he's taken care of the humans (after showing his teeth, heehee), and is eager
for a new assignment.
Cybertronian Sub's manipulator arms help too. As Apogee
beings to push the rock, the arms extend out and latch on to it, pulling it in
a direction that will hopefully not roll over Elita One. Yay teamwork.
Rodimus Prime runs over towards Ranger and stands by the
boarding ramp. It's evident he's impatient about going, with mars about to
delcare war on earth, it'll make any Prime crazy with wanting to do something
about it and now. He sighs at Broadcast only making a situation worse and looks
down at Foxfire, "Go find Broadcast, he was here just a little while ago.
Get him to stop that."
Jazz is off dealing with some surfers. Really. The things
humans will do for 'fun'.
<Earth> Inferno says, "Autahbot main ta... *RUMBLE* ...Primus have mercy, I got HEAVY
seismics. Evac teams Foxtrot, Hotel,
November, Oscar, Quebec, Zulu, reassignment...
*RUMBLE* Dammit, hold that
bulkhead 'er ah'll scalp ya whur you stand, private! Evac teams, insertion fer mass casualty, assume jurisdictional
assistance n' fer cryin' out loud, notify th' local IC yer there. Autahbot Main ta EDC Main, that traffic's
comin' from south a' here...
Triangulatin'... Fer' Primus
sakes, Junkion Main, clear that damn traffic 'er else ah'm rippin' yer
vocalizer through yer tailpipe. You
AIN'T helpin'."
<Earth> Galvatron says, "Someone had better
answer me or I'm going to start removing faces."
Gears finally blasts back to the shore, unable to help
DepthCharge any under da sea. The minibot hits the ground softly and looks out
to where he saw DC dive underneath. "Now what..." he says. The
minibot glances at Foxfire, and then at Rodimus. "You want me to shut up
the Junkion?" A fully fledged smile breaks upon Gears' face. He casts his
gaze up into the heavens. "Thank you, oh Primus, for this bounty I am
about to receive."
<Earth> Galvatron says, "And why is the junkion
broadcasting Unicron's voice?!"
Rodimus Prime grabs the side of Ranger's ramp as he feels
the tremors as well. He says, "Primus, yes Gears, go with Foxfire. But
don't turn all the Junkions against us."
Foxfire gives a small salute to Rodimus with a forepaw, and
dashes off to find the Junkion. He winces slightly. Well, he wanted some
action, and he got it. Not quite what he had in mind, though. No matter, he's
got a job to do!
<Earth> Inferno says, "Hold yer water,
unidentified, unless yer makin' a report.
EDC Main, I got seismics poppin' off th' charts at EVERY damn station
this side a' th' planet."
Autobot Shuttle <Ranger> patiently sits and awaits
further orders, he begins to power up his engines in preperation, although he
has no passengers as of yet. He has no personal concern about the seismic
activity, as this form is far more stable than any two-legged being could ever
hope to be.
The Junkions are actually gearing up the boxcar and
broadcasting War of the Worlds on KNUJ for the most part.... Broadcast is
looking at the other Junkions, "Wow! We did it! They all love this!"
<Earth> Gears says, "This is EDC Main, we're
beginning the pick up the effects of the closer proximity of Mars. If this
doesn't stop - and by God I can't think of a reason that it would - we're going
to have even bigger problems on our hands."
<Earth> Gears says, "OOC: This is a
mischan!"
<Earth> Marissa says, "This is EDC Main, we're
beginning the pick up the effects of the closer proximity of Mars. If this
doesn't stop - and by God I can't think of a reason that it would - we're going
to have even bigger problems on our hands."
<Earth> Galvatron says, "Did that anus just refer
to me as unidentified? Listen, SON, or
have you forgotten your father. THIS IS
GALVATRON. And Galvatron wants a
freaking answer before he starts blasting things and making your job even
harder!"
<Earth> James Trent says, "Ayotzinco is
burning. The pyramid and the central
plaze have been hit. We are currently
evacuating the wounded, but we still don't know what hit us."
Gears tries to look innocent and fails. "I shall make
sure that at least one Junkion does not hate us," he promises before
breaking into a sprint to follow Foxfire. "Go, boy, go! Find that Junkion!
Fetch the trash heap! Fetch!" he orders. The minibot shifts into truck
mode so he can better follow the fox.
Gears falls forward onto his front with his arms collapsing
into his sides. His legs flip over until they reach his back, forming his cargo
area. Gears is now in truck mode!
Ethercraft <Apogee> says, "Good work," she
somehow intones through the water, before beginning to nudge the next-largest boulder
away. Perhaps to make the situation a little less tense, she adds:
"DepthCharge, perhaps when this is all over, we can discuss adaptations to
make me more...seaworthy."
Foxfire growls as he continues running, the blasted
Junkion's voice reaching his audio sensors. "Broadcast! You idiot!"
he calls, before he even sees him, but speaks loud enough to be heard. He turns
his attention to Gears for a moment, then back to his destination. Once he
spots the Junkions, he skids to a stop, leaving a trail of dust. That is, if
flying sand can be called dust. He doesn't talk, but simply glares at
Broadcast.
<Earth> Inferno says, "Fer Primus sakes... Seattle is reporting heavy casualties,
thirty foot surge. Heavy damage from
seismics. Reports comin' in from all
along shoreline confirms damage n' surge.
N' there ain't a damn thing else we can do."
Once a couple of boulders were actually removed from the
femme commander's waists, Elita One struggles a bit more and manages to break
free from the restraint. With a loud gasp, the femme then nods briefly to both
Autobots, before she begins to swim all the way back up toward the top, to get
out of the water.
Actually, to the Junkions, this would probably be making
sense for broadcasting this radio show. Broadcast looks at Foxfire, "No
time to play!" He keeps setting up the radio controls as the other
Junkions are fixing up the box car. The time to move is soon. Broadcast smirks,
"Wreck-Gar is so going to praise us for this!"
Rodimus Prime has disconnected.
<Earth> Galvatron says, "Fascinating."
<Earth> James Trent says, "This is too much for
us... we cannot continu like this, we must stop whatever is causing all those
disasters."
<Earth> Galvatron says, "Ah. Finally an answer. You don't know what's causing them either."
Cybertronian Sub's radio is going crazy, along with all of
its internal oceanographic equipment. Magnetic spikes are being detected along
with strange seismic activity. All the creatures in the ocean's depths are
going crazy, skittering around into any hidey whole they can manage and the
larger creatures franticly darting to the left and the right, their primitive
minds not able to determine what is going on. Mars is still far away, but
animals are always the first to know when stuff is about to hit the fan. And,
by the looks of things, stuff is /really/ going to hit the fan when Mars gets
closer. Attempting to shut down his distracting oceanographic equipment the
Cybertronian Sub moves on to helping Apogee with the next boulder, emitting as
Elita One bursts free, "I would be happy to be of assistance Autobot
Apogee."
<Earth> James Trent says, "Could someone pull his
plug?"
<Earth> Galvatron says, "Perhaps, Commander...if
you used the power of humanity...they would stop? Remember, it can overcome anything! Oh wait, I shouldn't say such things. I was smart enough to fortify my island. It's still annooying. So please, do stop it."
Ethercraft <Apogee> stops pushing at the boulder as
Elita One breaks free, and lets it roll back into position. She tries tilting
her ailerons to angle herself up, but her hydrazine tank is empty, thus she's
no longer able to propel herself up to the surface.
<Earth> Hook says, "Um...is that MARS up
there?\"
<Earth> Galvatron says, "BY PRIMUS! Unicron's voice was right!"
<Earth> Marissa says, "Rodimus... or whoever's in
command of the Hawaii-stationed Autobots, we've detected waves approaching your
area. I'd brace yourself and do what you can for the local population."
<Earth> Galvatron says, "Bring me the
"little green" men!"
Broadcast emits the rest of the epic radio broadcast and
glances at the other Junkions, "Time to call it a night. I will bring the
rest of the work with us."
Cybertronian Sub's manipulator arms retract back in and he
begins to ascend back up to the surface, pausing as he notices Apogee just
floating there and broadcasts to her, "Autobot Apogee, are you
alright?"
<Earth> Jazz says, "We're workin' on gettin'
things battened down, Marissa. Just a couple more minutes. Any ETA for
us?"
<Earth> Inferno growls audibly, followed by the loud
slamming of the microphone against a hard surface at a rapid velocity. Also known as, Inferno throwing the mic
across the room. A moment passes with a
squeal of feedback, then the furious drawl returns. "Ah swear wit' ev'ry last drop a' energon that thumps
through mah chest, ah'm comin', Galvatrawn.
This whole mess stinks jes' like YOU.
N' ah'm takin' ev'ry last life lost, ev'ry last buildin' that fell,
ev'ry last soul yer sorry lot stole n' tearin' 'em out yer tailpipe. So help me Primus, ah'm gonna od it 'er die
tryin'.
<Earth> Marissa says, "Ten minutes until it
starts. Fifteen until it starts getting -really- nasty."
<Earth> Inferno says, "OOC: 'Do' it, not 'od'
it."
Apogee transmits a message via radio to DepthCharge.
DepthCharge receives a radio transmission.
Autobot Shuttle <Ranger> engages he thrusters and
lifts himself off the ground slightly, moving himself closer towards the human
habitations. Softly he touches down again, setting himself between the waves
and the terran buildings. He then resumes waiting patiently for further orders
or events.
<Earth> Galvatron says, "First. I had no idea until HOOK pointed it
out. Second, Son, remember what
happened last time you did that? You
became the fruit of my loins. And no
Trent, robots can't have sexual relations.
Get it out of your head."
<Earth> James Trent says, "Situation under
control in Ayotzinco. We are evacuating
our wounded. Evacuation is going well
on the west coast."
<Earth> LASERS!
FROM SPACE!
Well, it's really just one laser- or, more technically,
"Laser." It starts as a simple twinkle of light in the sky, growing
brighter, and brighter, and brighter...and then it's there! Travelling at the
speed of light (which is pretty damn fast, dontchaknow). The pillar of purple
light streaks down from the sky, zeroing in on one particular unfortunate,
wherever he may be...
Broadcast.
Jazz manages to convince the surfers that it'd be a good
idea for them to GO TO HIGHER GROUND. Hopefully none of them will want to try
and ride a tsunami. Then comes running back towards the group, giving a quick
li'l radio towards his group. "You hear what they said, people. We got
ourselves ten minutes t'get everyone battened down. Le's go."
Cybertronian Sub transmits to the craft, "Acknowledge.
Rendering assistance." And the sub dips back down, sailing into a position
underneath the ethercraft. Slowly the Cybertronian Sub begins to rise up,
eventually coming into contact with the ethercraft's underbelly. Still sending
power to its turbines, the Cybertronian Sub rises onward, slowly starting to
push the ethercraft higher and higher within the ocean.
<Earth> Inferno says, "PD reports San Francisco
only 15 percent evacuated... They ain't
gonna make it. If seimics keep up at
th' rate they's goin', we'll be a whole lot a' blessed if LA ain't sittin'
under a hunnert feet a' water."
<Earth> Galvatron says, "Didn't they make a movie
about this?"
<Earth> Long Haul says, "You mean Batman?"
Anna Morgen has arrived.
<Earth> Galvatron says, "No, you ignorant
whelp...what was it called...."
Foxfire proceeds to smack his forehead, as if he's starting
to get a headache. "Broadcast," he says, "you are NOT
helping..."
<Earth> Long Haul says, "Batman Two: Electric
Boogaloo?"
<Earth> Inferno says, "Dammit, whur's Blaster
when ya NEED th' guy."
Truck <Gears> abandons following Foxfire and instead
focuses on helping out the civilians. It isn't long before Gears is jammed
packed with tourists and natives. Although it isn't a comfortable way to ride,
it's a good thing that Gears is designed for transportation. By some cruel
twist of fate, the minibot also has within him little Jimmy and little Suzie.
Curse them and their superior sandcastle building skills. The minibot pulls up
to Jazz and comes to a halt with a screech. "Where to?" he demands
before casting his gaze upwards at the third blast to arc towards this fair
planet.
Anna Morgen is stranded, and FREAKED OUT! "What's going
on! HELP!"
<Earth> Jazz says, "He's at a conference on Ceti
Alpha 9. 'least thats what he told me."
Autobot Shuttle <Ranger> hatch stands open, now
though, instead of waiting for boarding for lift-off, he's offering shelter for
any who wish to take advantage of it.
Ethercraft <Apogee> literally gets a lift courtesy of
DepthCharge, feeling a bit helpless. As they reach the surface, she's able to
use her antigrav field generator to hover upward, and head back towards the
island. "Thanks, DepthCharge!"
<Earth> Inferno says, "Talk to me, Jazz... If'n y'alls rockin' n' rollin' like we are,
ya best be lookin' fer a rowboat."
<Earth> Jazz says, "Row row row yer boat, 'Ferno.
We're tryin' to get as many humans offa the beaches and into shelter ASAP.
Goin' to grab a couple of-- What the heck was that?"
<Earth> Galvatron says, "Beers?"
<Earth> Galvatron says, "Wench, while you're at
it, grab me one."
<Earth> Galvatron says, "WHAT? I was talking to Autobot WENCH."
Anna Morgen is floating, clutching a surfboard for dear
life. "Help me...someone!" she screams, scared out of her mind.
"Someone get me; I can't get to shore!"
Meanwhile, as Colonel Fairbourne reported, the waves begin
to crash angrily against the shore, causing havoc for those on the surface of
the water as well as those who might possibly just be escaping its depths, or
even someone trapped on a surfboard out a ways. The water begins to rise and
quickly passes the high point of the tide, and doesn't appear to be stopping
any time soon. The thrashing of the waves seem to have nothing that can contain
them, and one might wonder if there's anywhere on these islands that might be
safe.
Cybertronian Sub emits from external speakers to Apogee as
it watches her begin to float in the sky under her own power, "No problem
Autobot Apogee. Glad to be of assistance. Now, let me just transform
and.." but the craft trails off as suddenly it is slammed into by a wave,
then another. Then another. The sub attempts to maneuver through the crazy
waters but even for an experienced helmsman like DepthCharge navigating in
conditions like this is next to impossible. And the Cybertronian sub just ends
up being tossed here and here in the water, disappearing in the water at one
location only to resurface a minute later a 20 meters away.
Heroic Autobots? Anyone interested in rescuing a lone human?
Broadcast is being picked up by his groupies. Gears is full. "Higher
ground. There's a couple of hotels on the heights that have ball-rooms."
Jazz tells Gears, looking away from the gruesome scene. And then there's that
surfer who may or may not have snuck back into the water. "Aww...
nuts." he says. "You go on ahead, I'll see if I can get t'that
one." Though the surf is loud, Jazz is used to picking out small sounds.
He heads for the water again...
Yes, the Junkions are the only ones okay with this..
<KNUJ> Radio DJ Broadcast is continueing the
broadcasts of 'WoW' and there is a loud sound of something hitting something.
In this case, this something happens to be Broadcast being hit by the laser.
There isn't even a scream. Broadcast just goes cold and out of it. One of the
Junkions yells, "You Commie <censored>! You killed Kenny!"
Another yells, "OJ! OJ struck!" "Yatzee!" "Dude,
where's his legs? I think they're up his... eww!" Another Junkion starts
singing, "Blinded by the light. Revved up like a deuce, another runner in
the night." Another Junkion scowls, "Dude, that was ficking awesome.
How'd he do that?" The other Junkions just start to pick up the body of
their leader. Broadcast has been deactivated. "How the Hell are we going
to go home now? He's our ride!" "We can sell his parts on eBay and go
to Disney World. We'd be safe there." Ah, the joy of the Junkions not
really touching the issue."
Elita One has disconnected.
Anna Morgen screams loudly as a giant wave washes over her.
She comes up a moment later, sputtering and choking. "HELP ME,
PLEASE!" she screams, her voice paniky as all hell. "Please..."
she sounds like she is losing hope
Ethercraft <Apogee> realizes the Autobots' favorite
medic is getting pummeled by the water, and she circles around to where
DepthCharge was last seen. Quickly deciding to try something out of the
ordinary. She projects a tractor beam down towards him, in an attempt to latch
onto him and stabilize him. Of course, one of the unwanted side effects of
this, is that water blobules begin creeping up the tractor beam, a most unusual
sight. But maybe it's still enough to pull DC towards the surface.
Truck <Gears> grunts at Jazz. "Well,
obviously." He hesitates at the order to go ahead, but finally decides he
has no choice. "If you don't save her, don't bother coming back!" he
shouts at Jazz. We can only hope that he is joking. The minibot and his cargo
of human lives high-tails it out of here towards higher ground.
Foxfire mutters something about stupid Junkions and and
dashes off, trying to find Rodimus. Having no luck, the fox tape simply runs
around the beach, hoping to find *something*--a lone human to rescue (who's not
in the water), a comrade to help out...but doesn't have much luck. And he can't
even get off the island without a hovercraft, which he can't pilot, and it
doesn't look like anyone else is going to do it for him. He sighs. This is just
wonderful, isn't it?
<Earth> And for the last time before the "Death
Star 2" needs to recharge from its triumphant debut, the weapon is used
upon the heart of the Autobot Faction. The Militants and Junkions have felt its
sting, and now it's the Autobots' turn. From the red planet of Mars comes
another blast, this one streaking towards San Francisco, out away from the main
city. The beam is targeting none other than the Autobots' last line of defence,
Autobot City - Metroplex - and those that dwell within.
If he doesn't save her, he pobably will be in need of saving
himself, actually, Gears. Jazz does the great run down the beach, loosing the
flowers in the process. BayWatch Hawaii? Nah. He'd look awful in a speedo.
"It's okay. I'm comin'. Jus' hang on to the board..." he calls to
her. Splash splash. Ugh. Darned waves. Good thing he's a sturdy mech.
"F***ity f***ing f***." Gears mutters as he
screeches to a halt. Behind him, the tide rises. In front of him is a flooded
street, and the only way out of this hellhole to higher ground. Gears thinks
about what to do momentarily, and settles on saying "F***ing s***."
When that fails to solve anything, the minibot backs up slightly, considering
taking a run at this overgrown puddle to make it out of here. "I don't
want to hear any whining from you here, humans... we're going to get through
this!" Gears shouts, praying that there are no Autobots close enough to
hear his positive words.
Cybertronian Sub is stabilized by the tractor enough to
surface from the waves. As soon as he on the surface of the water, he
transforms (with the tractor beam's keeping him steady) and then launches into
the air, anti gravs pumping as much power as they can to quickly get him out of
reach of the ocean. He says as he looks down at the thrashing sea, somewhat
sadly, "I hate to think of the damage that is being done to the marine
environments around the globe." Sure DepthCharge, think about the fish and
not the humans.
Anna Morgen hears the Autobots voice, but she can't see him
at all. Salt water in the eyes. "Help me please...I can't hang on much
longer..." she cries weakly. And as she said, her grip is loosening.
"Hurry!" Tears run down her face. "What's happening to the Earth?
Why is she getting pulled apart?"
Ethercraft <Apogee>'s chassis is completely surrounded
by a huge blob of water thanks to the tractor beam, which she gladly
disengages. As she does so, the water pours off of her, like paperclips falling
from a deactivated electromagnet. Hearing cries for help, she of course turns
and heads towards Anna's position, though she may not be the first to arrive
there.
Yeah. No Autobots are around to hear Gears saying positive
things. That's POSITIVE for Gears, now isn't it?.
And with a few more sloshy running strides, Jazz is... out
of room to run. He'll have to try and swim for it. Not that Anna could've
gotten that far out. Really. He could be next to her by now. "I'm here
t'help, gal. Don't you let go of that board now."
Autobot Shuttle <Ranger> braces himself, intending to
absorb whatever of the impact he can instead of letting it smash unchecked into
the beachfront habitations. He figures that in this form, at this size, he
stands a much better chance or surviving the impact than mere masonry.
Truck <Gears> bursts into the puddle, but for all of
his speed it doesn't take him long to get bogged down. "Ah... f***."
He says optimistically. "Remember what I was saying about us getting
through this, humans? Well I LIED!" The minibot sighs, now trapped in the
street that is slowly turning into a raging river. "Help?" he says
quietly to anyone who might hear him. "Help?" he says a bit louder.
"HELP!!!" he screams as he begins to get carried by the current.
Anna Morgen cries out as another wave sends her spinning.
Most likely towards Jazz's direction. "Help, I can't see you. Where are
you?" She cries out in stark fear. "I'm so scared...Help me
please!" Her grip loosens a bit more, so now she is just barely on the
board. She is very weak...
<Earth> Inferno says, "Okay, reports 'er comin'
in from LA... Sea surges already up 15
feet, heavy seismics, casual-*kaTHWOOOOOOOOOOM!!!*"
<Autobot> Gears says, "Help!!"
<Earth> Marissa says, "Autobot City, report! That
blast came down in your area. What's your status?"
<Earth> Marissa says, "Shrike Squadron November
Foxtrot Seven, change course to Autobot City, report immediately on the
situation there."
<Earth> Bonecrusher says, "Are my audio receptors
faulty? Did he just SHUT UP?"
<Earth> ...static...
...More static...
..."Autahbot Main ta... *COUGH* nnnggghhh... DAMN that
hurts...
...even more static...
..."Direct hit... Losin' primary *COUGH* primary
power... Primus damn, what th' hell IS that? *COUGH*
<Earth> Marissa says, "Inferno, thank God you're
alright. What's Metroplex's status?"
<Earth> Bonecrusher says, "...Yep, I need to
visit the Med Bay."
<Earth> Marissa is assuming Inferno will use the
Autobot broadband for anything secure.
<Earth> Marissa says, "Shut up, Decepticon.
You're not helping anything. Funny how none of YOUR sites have been hit."
Jazz reaches for the surfboard, conveniently spinning in his
direction, "Gotcha." he says, floundering backwards towards shore...
er... "Grab onto me." he tells the human, as he tries to get an arm
around her. "I'll bring ya in." Of course, that assumes that those
steadily worsening waves are not going to swamp the both of them first.
Cybertronian Sub is in the air again, safe and sound. And he
is presently watching a torrent of waves smashing into Hawaii. One bot can't
stop these (well, Unicron may be able to but he would probably just laugh and
then turn us all to Unispawn) but DepthCharge is going to try and do what he
can. Flying as fast as he can, DepthCharge soars back to Hawaii and steadies
himself on the shore, hovering 10 foot in the air. He has a plan.
Concentrating, once again DepthCharge focuses his energy into a glowing blue
forcefield.. expanding it to a big a sphere around himself as he can without
losing deflective power. And then, monitoring his energon levels since this is
going to really knock the crap out of him, DepthCharge and the large forcefield
sphere around him begins to charge at the waves, jaw hard. He may not be able
to stop the waves but maybe bursting through their centre will disrupt them
enough that they won't be as powerful when they hit the island.
The slight sound of decompressing air can be heard as the
Cybertronian Sub contracts in on itself slightly, taking on a more body like
shape. In a matter of seconds the futuristic sub becomes the Autobot
DepthCharge.
<Earth> Bonecrusher says, "How do you know that,
fleshling? We wouldn't be crying about it if they were, we'd be finding out
what was happening then doing something about it."
<Earth> ...static...
"Autahbot Main ta EDC Main... HOLD TH' LINE! PUSH 'ER
DOWN THAT HALLWAY 'ER WE LOSE TH' WHOLE DAMN COMMAND CENTER! WIDE FOG, FORM
RANKS!" "But Sir!" "I don't GIVE a damn if ya cain't find
yer arm... Charge that standpipe 'er ah'll rip off th' other one n' beat ya
wit' th' wet end! EDC Main, status unknown, all systems offline, secondaries
'er deader n' a hammer. TIGHTEN UP! NOT A LICK A' THAT FIRE TOUCHES MAH COMMAN'
POST! Th' whole damn thing is burnin'. TIGHTEN UP-KAWHOOOOOM!
<Earth> Long Haul says, "Yeah! I mean,
um...reports of... Fire... in... Sector... five... twelve."
Ethercraft <Apogee> finally reaches Jazz's and Anna's
position, and hovers down as close to the water's surface as she can, tiny
wavelets rippling away from her due to the nature of her antigrav field. She
tips a wing towards the two and yells, "Climb on!"
<Earth> Bonecrusher says, "Err, yeah! TIGHTEN UP!
NOT A LICK A' THAT FIRE TOUCHES MAH COMMAN' POST!"
<Earth> Hook says, "Sectors two and three on
fire, you moron. Now come over and help before I beat the energon out of
you...for Primus's sake, SHUT UP!"
Anna Morgen grabs hold of Jazz weakly, half-blind from the
saltwater. "I don't want to die." she murmurs sadly, holding on
limply.
<Earth> Marissa says, "Very convincing,
Constr-... Inferno? Blast it, we're dispatching emergency teams to Autobot City
now. Just HOLD OUT UNTIL THEN." Another voice cuts in from an EDC Shrike,
"We have a visual on Metroplex, Colonel. He's been hit and the fire's
starting to spread. Can't get a much better idea of what's going on in there
from up here.""
"...Gears?" Foxfire blinks a few times, the cries
for help reaching his ears. Snarling, he takes off in the other Autobot's
direction, and splashes through the water, until he reaches Gears.
"Primus, I hate water," the fox tape grumbles, and grabs onto Gears'
rear bumper with his teeth, desperately trying to pull him to safety. Doesn't
look like the little cassette can do much on his own, though.
<Earth> Hook says, "My apologies, Colonel. My
brother is really stupid."
<Earth> Long Haul says, "Oh no! I am on fire! It
hurts and stings!"
<Earth> Hook says, "Your own slagging fault, Long
Haul..."
<Earth> Bonecrusher says, "Maybe you can send us
some help when your done? Some of our buildings have had their paintwork badly
damaged. Repeat: Help need at once!"
<Earth> Anna Morgen says, "Bonecrusher, shut up.
You are hurting my audials..."
<Earth> Anna Morgen says, "OOC:Hook said
that!"
<Earth> Anna Morgen says, "Bonecrusher, shut up.
You are hurting my audials..."
<Earth> Anna Morgen says, "Bonecrusher, shut up.
You are hurting my audials..."
<Earth> Hook says, "Bonecrusher, shut up. You are
hurting my audials..."
Jazz shakes his head, getting Anna onto Apogee's wing,
before climbing on himself-- "You're not gonna die t'day." He tells
her. "We'll be on dry-- *cough* land in a minute." Yeah.
"Thanks." he tells Apogee. He's hearing the radio-- at least some of
the conversations. It's not gonna help to worry about it.
Anna Morgen sighs weakly. "But the Earth...Will it
survive?"
<Earth> Bonecrusher says, "Ok, I get the message,
you're too good to help the Decepticons. And Hook is just too proud to ask.
Guess I'll have to save our city myself! Hand me that can of paint will ya Long
Haul."
<Earth> Hook says, "Bonecrusher...SHUT UP NOW!!
And get some REAL work done!"
DepthCharge meanwhile emerges on the other side of a set of
waves, forcefield intact but he wobbles about in the air, saying to himself,
"40 percent of energon suppliers used up in one hit.. The waves are two
powerful.. But should have enough supplies to make one last run." Shutting
off the projected forcefield to conserve energy, DepthCharge heads about back
to the Hawaiian shore and projects his forcefield bubble around himself and
does a final flight run, smashing through the incoming waves. If only the Dinobots
where here. Aren't they built for this type of stuff?
Truck <Gears> now hasn't a clue of what he should do
right now. The minibot is almost starting to float and the humans inside are
starting to panic. "Hmm... guess we'll all just stay here until we die.
Well, until YOU die, anyway. I suppose I can just transform and fly out of
here." That's Gears for you, always looking on the bright side. Strangely,
it does nothing to comfort his charges. But then, suddenly, the minibot feels
something on his rear bumper. "Argh?" he asks. "Ahhhh...
wonderful. The Cassettibot is saving us. I shall never live this down." He
almost sounds disappointed.
<Earth> Ranger emits casually "There aren't many species in existence
who would aid those whom they are officially at war with. Especially where no such aid is being
offered."
<Earth> Long Haul says, "I'm not offering aid
because I'm ON FIRE."
<Earth> Scrapper mutters, "Stupid Autobot."
Ethercraft <Apogee> levels off slowly so as to not
shake Jazz and Anna loose, then gains a bit of altitude and heads back towards
the island. "Hang on tight..." Upon reaching it, she sets down beside
the much larger Autobot shuttle.
<Earth> Hook says, "NCC is getting flooded too,
you know. Someone get me a pump. That means you Long Haul."
<Earth> Long Haul rassafrats.
<Earth> Bonecrusher says, "Screw you Hook,
Scrapper says I'm second in command of the Constructicons, so you can do the
painting. And we are helping. We are vocalizing our support!"
<Earth> Countdown says, "Well, if it means much,
aren't the Decepticons better in the air than the Autobots? Why don't you just
fly into the air and find the problem."
<Earth> Ranger says, "Perhaps, then. You should attempt to aid the Terrans with
their /flooding/ problems, that should sudbue the flames."
<Earth> Hook says, "I'm second in command, you
aft-face!"
<Earth> Obviously this transmission is from a personal
transmitter... It is weak and wavering, unlike the powerful equipment found at
Metroplex.
"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon... Back 'er up... THERE." A
loud slamming of steel on steel can be heard over the radio. "Weld that
bulkhead! Flashover, fire the FM-200, full sweep! Autahbot City Command ta EDC
Main, comman' center isolated, full extinguishment in progress. Level one stage
outside main entrance n' await status report.
<Earth> Long Haul says, "I'm the Aftman,
Crap-for-brains!"
<Earth> Bonecrusher says, "Like HELL you are!
Scrapper, tell him!"
<Earth> Hook says, "I HATE YOU!"
<Earth> Scrapper says, "Oh no, my collection of
artwork consisting of all Autobot parts, totally fifteen in number and
including such marvels as Grimlock, the rest of the Dinobots, Sky Lynx,
Metroplex, DepthCharge - YEAH I MEAN YOU, DEPTHCHARGE, YOU WORTHLESS SACK OF
SLAG! - and even Rodimus Prime, is getting wet. Whatever can we do to save my
artwork, which is far superior to anything Grapple could possibly build."
<Earth> Hook says, "MY BROTHERS ARE STUPID!"
<Earth> Scrapper knew this would come back to haunt
him. "Oh oh... uh... lets... deal with this fire first, brothers."
<Earth> Hook says, "Want me to go Motormaster on
the lot of you?"
Jazz gives Anna a cheerful grin, "Yeah. We'll figure
somethin' out." He tells her, sliding off the wing, and reaching down to
help Anna. "Gotta get you out of here. They're comin' in heavier." Of
course, he didn't see DC getting a plan together, so... "Let me give you a
ride."
<Earth> Hook says, "Get. To. Work. NOW!"
<Earth> Bonecrusher says, "Ha! You couldn't go Bumblebee
on us! And.. wait..ahhh! Now I am ON FIRE! AHH!"
<Earth> Countdown says, "Obviously, this shows
the real concern of the Decpeticons.
Primus, if Unicron was enough
fear for for Galvatron to help the Autobots, why is this alliance not back into
place?"
<Earth> Marissa says, "Inferno, if you can hear
this, we have emergency personnel on site to help with the fire suppression
work."
"Just...shut up, Gears!" Foxfire growls, his mouth
full of bumper, as he continues to pull. He tugs even harder, digging his claws
into the soaked ground--or whatever is under the water. He's still not having
much success.
<Earth> Hook says, "swears at his brothers.
"Why do I hang around you guys?""
<Earth> Scrapper says, "Because I can't trade you
to Onslaught for Brawl like I wanted to all those vorns ago."
<Earth> Inferno says, "Start EMS if'n y'all
haven't, Gen'ral. Ah got a group a'
humansthat oughta be fine, but th' FM-200 spread's gonna knock 'em out colder
n' a well digger's butt."
<Earth> Bonecrusher says, "Shut up Hook. Cut some
slack for those of us that are on fire, eh?"
<Autobot> Countdown says, "This is
Countdown..."
<Earth> Hook says, "To use a Terran term, It's
your own F**King fault!"
<Autobot> Countdown says, "I am trapped inside
the Repair Bay."
Truck <Gears> hmphs. "Well, if that's how you're
going to treat your fellow Autobots," he mutters to the mech who's busy
saving his tin-plated butt. Knowing this, the minibot does his best to shut up
and let Foxfire work. There's not much that he can do to help, as spinning his
wheels does nothing but kick up more water.
Anna Morgen smiles weakly at Jazz. "Thank you."
she murmurs. She is obviously exhausted. "If I do die...I want to die with
a friend." she smiles, despite her pain. "Let's get outta here."
<Earth> Bonecrusher says, "No it's not... it's
the Autobots fault! They are the ones attacking the Earth and trying to cover
it up by attacking their own people!"
The ethercraft unfolds into the form of Apogee.
Autobot Shuttle <Ranger> just sort of maintains his
position, sheltering stuff and having run out of inspiration long ago.
*Woosh* The glowing blue bubble and the DepthCharge in the
centre burst out of another pile of waves, water flying in his wake. A small
alarm sounds in DepthCharge's head, warning that he only has 20 percent energon
left in his main reserves. He has done all he can here. So, shutting down his
forcefield DepthCharge returns to the shore of Hawaii to see if there is any
assistance he can lend there.
Apogee reverts to robot mode beside Jazz and Anna, and takes
a moment to get her bearings, alternating her glance from the ocean to what's
left of the island.
<Autobot> Countdown says, "Are we leaving AC for
the time being? I am trying to figure out what we are going to do..."
The Junkion troops are trying to secure what the area has
for them to make a float. Some of the other Junkions are wading through the
water and trying to help others where needed.
Jazz does transform, and open a door to get Anna inside. As
soon as she's settled, he takes off up the stree-- er. It's a river now, isn't
it? And what's that up ahead? It's GEARS. Sucks to be a pickup truck without
Wheeljack's special hydrofoil wheel swimming type non-explody inventions on,
doesn't it? Good thing the Porsche has 'em installed. Dang Jazz is missing
those three luaus from the past day and a half. Especially those hula girls....
Sinking down and folding up, Jazz becomes a Porsche 935
Turbo.
<Autobot> Inferno says, "Keep yer britches awn,
soldier. Stand yer ground n' assist
wit' activatin' emergency generators fer th' infirmiry."
Slowly, but surely, Foxfire is managing to pull Gears toward
the safety of the edge of the flooded street, but it looks like he might lose
his grip any moment. "Just hang on, okay...?" It's a wonder he's
managing to speak this clearly with his mouth full.
Truck <Gears>'s day just got worse, as Jazz arrives on
the scene in order to see his plight. "Whoopie." Raising his voice he
shouts, "Guess I didn't get too far away from ya afterall, Jazz!" The
minibot is slowly dragged to the edge of the street, but the flooding is
everywhere. No curb is going to stop this! "Give us a hand?" he asks
the coolster.
Anna Morgen has disconnected.
And what would the coolster be without being cool? Jazz's
passenger has fallen asleep-- exhaustion can do that to a body. "Sure
thing!" the meister calls, "There's too much water 'round here."
Jazz has that nifty grappling hook as a robot. Too bad he's not in robot mode
right now. The white, and much muddied porsche keeps going up the hill, to a
point where the water isn't so deep, and pulls around to face Gears. "Hang
on there."
DepthCharge meanwhile is sitting on the highest point he can find, trying to come up with a plan on how to stop the waves. But.. even his scientific mind can't work out how to stop the tidal effects of an entire PLANET.
