Our new chicken coop was made for about $50.00!

For the roof, we used an old C-Band satellite dish (we removed the wire mesh and replaced it with some sheet metal my dad gave us,) the siding was extra pieces left over from siding our back room, the doors & windows were given to us by another family member, the flooring was left over pieces of plywood from when our house was re-roofed, the paint used was left overs and many of the 2x4 studs were left over from other jobs.
(We had to purchase some extra 2x4 studs for the framing, screws and caulking.)

Detailed plans and instructions, on how we built our chicken house, can be shared upon requests.

The roost has already been installed as well as the nesting boxes.
What we have left to do is add in our wall waterer & feeder (both of these were made out of PVC pipe which was cut in half.  The one used for watering was capped off on both ends.) and build our small fenced in chicken yard.
Most days, the chickens will be free ranging our yard but on occassion they may be kept within the confines of their own yard area.
