Good Will Hunting

I didn't want to see this movie. I really didn't. I don't like Oscar flicks. If it's Academy Award-nominated, I tend to avoid it like the plague, unless I know it's just token nominations to please the masses (i.e. Gladiator). But I did end up seeing it on the recommendation of a friend. Because of this and American Beauty I'm going to have to change my Oscar policy.
When I first saw this movie, I was blown away by the writing; I couldn't believe it was done by two college kids (or that it recieved a B). It's got some of the best speeches (the NSA monologue comes to mind immediately) and quotes you'll find anywhere, as well as what me and my friends have agreed is the greatest transition in movie history (after the NSA speech it opens with Robin Williams asking, "Do you feel alone, Will?"). It's a pretty deep movie about relationships and how people cope with inadequacy, peppered with tons of humor. Out of all the movies that get high marks from me, this is the one movie I bet will surely be looked back on as a classic.
