This page will spotlight a special DVD or DVD Box set that ranks very high in my consciousness at the moment. It may not be my favorite DVD ever, but it is worthy of honor. The current DVD of the Moment is:
The Scream Trilogy Box Set
And I thought the Godfather Trilogy Box Set was awe-inspiring (by the way, it is). Not only does this pack together one of my favorite movie series on DVD (read my long rant about it in the Trilogies or Greater: The Best Series of All Time), but it is absolutely packed with features. Not only do you get all the features on the disc for each movie (which include deleted scenes, commentaries, featurettes, music videos, gazillions of trailers and TV spots (Scream 2 alone has about 15) and even an alternate ending for Scream 3 among many other things), but you also get a bonus disc chock full of more stuff. That bonus disc alone makes this collection worth owning. Among it's contents are the original Test Screenings for Neve Campbell, Skeet Ulrich, and Jamie Kennedy; "Trailers" for Sunrise Studios films (the film company that did Stab 3 in Scream 3); and a Scene Editor (a bit disappointing feature that allows you to piece together cut footage into your own sequence...at least you get to see some cut scenes you won't find anywhere else like a cool extended version of Cotton Weary's scene talking to his agent). I wouldn't be surprised if there was 20 hours worth of stuff in the entire box set, and the vast majority of it's worthwhile. If you liked the Scream films, you will love this box set (and you'll love the price which I found at WalMart for $40...or about $35 cheaper than you can find the Godfather Trilogy).
