Braille Contractions

Braille students must be able to read and Braille these contractions, as well as spell them on a computer by the end of 4th grade in order to be on standard. Approximately 1/4 to 1/3rd of words are learned each year.

Kindergarten: Grade I is the Braille alphabet, some Grade II contractions.���������������

1st grade: 1/3 of words

2nd grade: review of 1st grade and the next 1/4 to 1/3 of words

3rd grade: review of 2nd grade Braille and next 1/4 to 1/3 of words

4th and 5th grade: practice on all words until 100% learned
