What Major Wilson did

Major Wilson entered the briefing room, a strong and loud voice
announced... "Maj. Wilson, LT Col. Atkins, CW3 Griffin, Maj. Mathews,
and Col. Robson I will be straight and to the point, we are on a extremely
limited time schedule. What you are about to hear will not ever be repeated to
anyone outside of this room. By supreme orders of the Area 51 commander,
all five of you were chosen on this incredible mission. Your task is simple. A
location has been mapped out; you will be the first to test a successful
quantum one jump. A quantum is a term we use as a barrier of velocity; it’s far
beyond that of the Mach speeds. Quantum one is roughly 35 times faster then the
speed of sound. That is 175,000 miles per hour. At 0600 hrs tomorrow you will
execute a quantum one, until you are at a quantum 4, if successful at this
point you will be at a speed of light and just past Pluto on the edge of our
solar system. Right now we are going to show you the craft. Gentlemen prepare
yourself, beyond these doors lies decades of research."
We were taken into a
huge hanger with no lights, pitch black. General Clifford gave us one last
warning on what we are about to see shall be shocking. All the lights suddenly
flashed on... as my eyes adjusted, I started to look farther down the hanger,
suddenly all my nerves went totally numb. A terrorizing glance of millions of
years of dimmed confusion, suddenly answered, none of the most advanced of
aircrafts on earth compared to this one. I knew now this mission would be one
of huge importance. Anti-Gravity propulsion was its form of thrust. An almost
perfect round saucer shape gave it the ability to move in all angles at any
time during flight. We were explained on the control mechanism, a simple round
virtual type of touch pad, with such simplicity even a child could operate it.
Our mission is now clear; this mission is not of war or destruction, it was to
explore a new home for humanity, a distant planet, and a few billion miles
outside our solar system. Till this time a normal unmanned probe would not be
capable of just reaching the boundaries of our solar system. We will be the
first to make an over 300-year space flight in a matter of a few months. A new
dawn has risen upon mankind; we are the messengers of the great ancient
disciples. Mans greatest conquest of the stars to reach a possible new home. We
have been in close contact with several Alien races that have visited us for
millions of years. Not all who have visited are peaceful. A hostile race due to
the fact we have used their technology from crashed spacecrafts, one location

It's 04:30 hrs, and
systems are go, as we get locked into the flight gear. All I can hear is my

visible in a 3-D holographic image. As we took off, the spacecraft soared at
