| Savatage is the main catalyst for my interest in and love of Heavy Metal. Their music has been truly inspiring to me personally. As a way for me to say thank you I have decided to add a Savatage fan page to my site. This site will take some time to get completed so check back periodically to see what else has been done in honor of this truly amazing band. | As most Savatage fans know, in the early morning hours of October 17, 1993 Criss Oliva and his wife Dawn were enroute to the Livestock Festival in Zephyrhills, Florida when tragedy struck. They were hit head on by a drunk driver. Criss was killed and his wife Dawn suffered severe injuries. Fans mourned the loss of one of music�s most gifted guitar players. On October 17, 2003 fans from over 11 countries gathered in Florida to pay tribute to this truly amazing man and guitarist.
