Hmmm...There's the gate of horn and the gate of ivory episode in Book VI, and the relentless ending in Book XII. Is Virgil a propagandist for the Emperor Augustus, or a rebel, subversively undercutting his authority? Anika is leaning toward the subversive interpretation, but she's not entirely sure at this point. She's only two months old, so we'll give her a little more time to come to a more definite conclusion. November, 2001.
