| At Seguaro National Park, Tucson, Arizona. It's hard to see, but these huge cacti cover the entire ridge in the background. | Some of the Seguaro Cacti have this rare style of growth. | |
| My mom lived in Tucson for several years and just happened to be there for a week visiting friends there. We found out a month before going that we were each planning on going out, so we made plans to meet. Here were are at the Seguaro National Park desert museum. Note the ground squirrels in the background. | Doug, Joy, Evie, Dave. Dave has a Ph.D. in Psychology and is taking some time off working at the park, learning about plants, the desert, and nature. He's having a great time, despite the heat and thorns. | |
| Hiking at Mount Lemmon. The alpine environment is completely different from the surrounding desert terrain, and it is much cooler. It looks like we're in northern California. | Dr. Seuss's Lorax has nothing to worry about here. | |
| On the trail on Mount Lemmon. | After 120 degree-in-the-shade desert heat, this is more like it! | |
| This is for those people who think Arizona is just a desert:
a quiet forest glade on Mount Lemmon. |
