The Saint Eugene de Mazenod Choir started December 3, 1995. It started in
Notre Dame of Greater Manila High School. A school operated by the Oblates
of the Mary Immaculate (OMI). Notre Dame of Greater Manila or NDGM is a
boys school. St. Eugene de Mazenod on the other hand is the founder and
patron saint of the OMI. Mr. Teodoro Ramos or better known as Sir Ted,
organized a group of gifted young men, to sing praises to the Lord during
school masses. The group started to go out of the gates of NDGM and
started singing at OUR LADY OF GRACE PARISH CHURCH in Caloocan. That's
the start of it. The group started to grow because of its exceptional
talent in singing and camaraderie. People started to notice young men
singing their hearts out in praising the Lord. And because of this, others
outside the circle of Damers started to join the group, with open heart
we welcomed them. Including women. The DMC Choir felt that it would be a
lot better if there are women in the group. Four voices was created. And
more beautiful music was created.
