PAS DE LA CASA
Date: 20/01/02 No Of Days: 7 Destination: Andorra, Pas Transport: Plane From Gatwick
This holiday concluded of Me, Bolt-Eyes, Chris Price, Whelk Brown, Dan Turner and Paul Hill (newcomer). We finally got the coach from Geneva airport in the early hours of the morning after the short flight from Gatwick. The first thing we noticed was that there was loads of snow so this looked very promising. I took my video camera and made a Bolt-Eyes movie of the whole holiday. We were almost to Pas when the bloody coach broke down, unbelievable, we were 15 mins away as well! After bout 20 mins the coach got repaired and we were on our way. We arrived in Pas and it was much busier then the small village of Soldeu, this was more like a town. It had a Burger King which was handy and a McDonalds. Loads of shops and bars which looked promising for the Apres Ski. The hotel we stayed in was quite nice. It had a TV and oven. The first night we went out and checked out the pubs and nightlife. The pubs were packed with people which was ok but too busy. There was hardly any women which dissapointed some of the gang. The pubs were ok, they offered free shots but the party atmosphere of Soldeu was non-existent here. The clubs were ok but not brilliant. The first day on the slopes was great, we had a little trouble getting lift passes with the big queue but once that was done we were off. The snow cover was good and there was loads of slopes and also grind rails and jumps for snow boarders. This holiday was the first time I tried Apsinth which is a strong green shot of alcohol (65%)! Only me and Pricey were brave enough though.
SLOPES
8 OUT OF 10
The slopes in Pas De La Casa were great. There were loads of runs for all levels of difficulty. So many runs that one day me and Chris Price got lost on the slopes and all the lifts had closed so we had to get a bus all the way back to Pas as we were on the other side of the mountains! The slopes went to a very high altitude and I noticed that the snowboarders almost match the skiers which was rare as there are usually much more skiers. There were many jumps for tricks and many lifts.

After coming off the slopes there was quite a few things to do in Pas. The restaurants were good, they had a Burger King and also a McDonalds so we were sorted :) The pubs were good, there was one called The Underground which was always busy and drinks were cheap. The pubs were either too busy or too quiet the mix just wasn't quite right. The clubs were ok but once again the people wern't too friendly and majority were blokes.
GENERAL ATMOSPHERE
2 OUT OF 10
There was a strange atmosphere at Pas. It was a bit of a rough resort which was not too pretty on the eye. The nights were mostly populated with gangs of blokes up for a fight. There was a few nights where we had blokes trying to kick our hotel door in as they were so drunk. I would say Pas is more of a resort for the people that don't really care bout the sking or snowboarding as much as the going out in the evening. How many of them got up in the morning after drinking all night till 4 in the morning baffles me.
