Grafenwoehr Field Deployment!
This was our compound that we were working at while I was deployed to the field at Grafenwoehr, Germany at the begining of Feburary, 2001.  I am standing by the STT.  This was my satellite reciever that I worked so hard on to make sure we had up to date satellite pictures at all times!  I went through some rough times with this thing, but it seemed to be the most cooperative with me while I was deployed!  Ha Ha!  And as you can see, we had just a "little" snow to deal with!  Approximately 6 inches to tell the truth!  And boy it was cold.  About 20 degrees the whole time!
Here are a few pictures of our all around weather station and all of the equipment that I have learned how to use.  And these pictures continue to show all the wonderful snow that we had to deal with while working out of a tent the whole time!  It really sucked with all that snow!
And here is a picture of our lovely sleeping environment while we were there.  I had the mat that you see rolled up on my bag there on the top bunk with my sleeping bag on top of it.  No mattress or anything, but it beats sleeping in a cold tent.  The building was heated which was great.  We just had to compete for our sleep with some guy that has sleep apnea.  That kind of did suck, but besides that great living conditions compared to what I have lived in before in the feild.
