General Notes:
Dave, I was just re-reading what I had sent you and noticed on one of the e-mails I sent last Saturday I had the subject - Lemasters of Williamson Co. I guess I was thinking of your last name and another of my brick walls - the Lemasters family. They were from Robertson Co. I believe. Sorry for the confusion. I guess I was typing faster than I was thinking. You were asking about Caroline Nall's parentage. I have her parents' name and all her siblings. I got a lot of it from the Nall Families of America book. So I have the names of her grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents. That goes back to the late 1600's. I'm not very computer literate so I don't know how to put the information from my Family Tree Maker genealogy program into an e-mail. Caroline's parents were William Nall (b. abt. 1772, d. 1842) and Catherine (Tucker?). Their other children were: John L., Nancy, Joseph H., Mary, Williamson, Rebecca, Andrew Jackson, Manerva Ann Tennessee, James M. Nicholas Hardeman and of course, Caroline. William's father was John Nall (b. abt. 1741) who was killed in a battle of the Revolutionary War in North Carolina in 1781. John's wife was Martha (last name unknown). Their children were: Richard, John, Martin, Mary, James, William (Caroline's father), Thomas, Martha and Nathan. Nathan was born after his father's death. I have a copy of John's will. John's father was Richard b. abt. 1716 in Essex Co., VA, d. abt. 1795 in Wake Co., NC.. Richard's wife was Elizabeth (last name unknown) and their children were: William, John, James, Nicholas, Polly, Winnifred, Nathan, Sarah, Martin and Mary Elizabeth. Richard's parents were Martin Nall and Mary Aldin. Martin was b. abt. 1680 and d. 1728 in Essex Co., VA. Martin and Mary's children were: John, Winifred, Betty, Martin, Jr., Amey, Agnes, Richard and Nathan. You can see a lot of the same names were used in every generation which makes it very confusing. There were so many John and William Nalls you have a hard time keeping them straight. That sure doesn't help when you are researching. If you would like the Family Group Sheets that I have on the Nalls I will be glad to print them out and mail them to you. Also if you should get the book "Nall Families of America" on interlibrary loan I can give you the page numbers of our family line. It can get a little confusing if you haven't used a system like they use in the book, letters and numbers for each person. I have gotten so much help on some of my family lines that I'm always glad to share what I have with someone else. As you have probably noticed most of the Nalls had large families. That held true down to my father's family, he was one of 10 children and one of his sisters had 10 children. If you think of anything else you would like to know about the Nalls I'll be glad to answer if I can. On some of them the information is rather limited and the birth dates are only estimates. The man and woman who compiled the Nall book did a tremendous job of collecting information. They have references for the information they listed. I'd better close for now, I've probably given you enough information on the Nalls to either get you more interested or thoroughly confuse you. Ann Nall Wallace
