EVEN MORE SPECIAL RINGING TECHNIQUES
Wing Span (a/k/a Crucibell) (w.s.)
Any time that a ringer who is assigned to seven or more bells fully extends both arms to reach two of the farthest bells in the assignment, the technique is referred to as a Wing Span.  Depending of the bell assignment involved, minimum arm length requirements may need to be satisfied by the ringer (i.e. Ringer No.s 1 or 2). If the ringer lifts his head up to make firm eye contact with the director while performing the Wingspan, the technique is known as the Crucibell (C+).  This extra-special technique calls for an especially-gifted ringer who enjoys the nuances of ringing performance.

Wall Mart (w.m.)
A variation of the half-arc tower swing, this technique is a full extension of the traditional tower swing.  It consists of hitting the bell against a wall behind the ringer.  The musical effect is heightened if the ringer winces simultaneously.  When done properly, this technique leaves a lasting impression on the hall in which the performance takes place.  (Contributed by Mrs. Silver D. W., self-proclaimed "ringer, director and certifiable bell junkie.")
