BELL BOOK LIST
The number of books currently in print relating to bells is astounding.  Of course there are a few titles that many ringers will recognize.  But there are dozens more available, all of which deserve the attention of musical bibliophiles everywhere.   Here is just a partial listing by subject matter.  Click on the link to see book jackets.

Classic Literature
It seems that 20th Century American authors and poets simply could not resist the allure of the handbell as a metaphor for the human condition in their writing.  Oddly though, the bright and cheerful sonority of this instrument has lead to some very depressing works of literature.
Occult
Until recently the magical quality of handbell acoustics was considered taboo as a subject for published work.  The black market of bell occult writing has finally emerged into the mainstream, mass book trade with a few intriguing titles.
True Crime
The propensity of some handbell ringers to be violent during handbell rehearsals (as bells are slammed down on the tables) is a sad truth.  It has been suggested that this activity can lead to violent crime and has been exposed in several recent works.
Scandalous
You won't believe your eyes!  We won't say anything more.
Children's Books
Children can be taught to appreciate the beautiful sound of handbells from an early age with these age-appropriate books.
Travel and Leisure
As you travel throughout the world, you may come upon various bell locations that will make you feel as if you've never left the rehearsal room at home.  These venues are favorite "get-aways" among handbell directors!
Christmas
Move over brass choirs lovers, how many holiday books can you name about brass groups.  Ahem!
