For those, who not familiar with this excellent game: actually, you can save four galaxies!
It's pretty easy to compile "Elite New Kind" under linux (of course, once we got allegro library).
Here what I did:
makefile Makefile.gz
wrapper script newkind.gz
The script newkind assumes that you have all data files under game subdirectory
For those, who can't wait: newkind.exe.gz (compiled under Red Hat 7.1, dynamically linked with allegro 3.9.37) with little bonus: you will have few extra credits when you'll start the game (I needed to start travalling between galaxies too soon, for debugging, of course :)).
And, well, I'm such a nice guy so you can grab liballeg-3.9.37.so.gz!
