This was a beautiful voluntary project, which did not have big commercial implementation, but is supported until now.
In 1992, with AT-386sx-16, in MASM 5.0 programming language...

Shaman My friend, Shamshetdinov Serge had developed original Add-On Card for capturing full videosignal (PAL/SECAM) from camera into PC memory that time. It has 8-bit gray level ability and DMA ideology at ISA bus. Based on low-price chips, its overall cost is less then $30 for manufacturer.
There was also the C-language based program set for capturing the signal. Serge also achieved success in recolorizing of picture on basis of algorithmic signal reprocessing.
And I was inquired to develop the Assembler-based tool - for speeding and more features in palette changing and film creating.

Being under financial support of a small enterprise, at last we did not divide _future_ money... as ever... And could not step over problems with DMA at i486 faster then DX/2-66.
So project is still voluntary.

As for speed:
at 386DX-40, Trident 9000i 512K ISA VESA 1.2 VGA 640x480x256
it shows 9 frames per second, without saving to disk.

This Add-On Card is great because of it main idea: the dump of signal to memory is readable and can been analyzed in different ways.

So we can try to decode other signals, such as TeleText , Global Position System etc.
Let's try !

Thanks All
