Odesa, Ukraine
|
Odesa (or Odessa in Russian) is a major port city on the Black
Sea with great potential for becoming a tourist destination. The people are
among the friendliest and the least morose in all of Ukraine. The city has many old
buildings that would be beautiful, if only restored. Odesa is most famous
for a rebellion in 1905 in which it citizens were massacred by Tsarist troops
on the Potemkin Steps. These days, it is better known for its Body Art festival
on the beach (May 1-2).
